To clarify a point I brought up about disliking the idea of packs mixing content that is both *for DLC-owners* and *for everyone...* It's all about context. As an example, in Jungle Adventures I mentioned that having some new outfits for cats and dogs would've been nice. But here I'm saying that including them is off-putting. Here's an expansion (pardon the pun) on my thought process: In my mind, including a few bonus pet outfits in an unrelated and _much larger_ game pack would be nice as a nod to C&D owners, much like how Jungle Adventures and other packs have included new foods to use with Dine Out restaurants if you happen to own that. It'd be a small extra thing for certain players, but not a significant focus of the pack. However, the fact that _SO MUCH_ of My First Pet stuff is only available to Cats & Dogs owners is another story and feels manipulative. It's selling a sizable chunk of its content to certain customers and potentially shafting others, whereas Jungle Adventures has plenty for everyone to dive into regardless of what you own. As I briefly mentioned in the video, I'd be happier if the DLC was _only_ for Cats & Dogs owners, since that way there is no splitting of the player base and making non-owners of the expansion feel pressured to buy another $40 pack to access everything they bought. I'd be down for, say, a pack of large new districts for City Living. _Provided_ that it's clearly and primarily meant for City Living owners and isn't locking away a big chunk of its content while providing something smaller to tease everyone else (ie, hamsters.) I apologize if there was any confusion as I don't want to come off as inconsistent. But well, I have inconsistent ideas about The Sims 4 as you might imagine. Communicating ideas consistently is tough when you're talking about subjective opinions on separate context-sensitive packs, since my point of view changes with each pack. What I thought about something in the past can very easily change in the future!
I completely agree, either make the dlc only for cats and dogs owners or so everyone can use the WHOLE pack. Teasing content forces (kinda) people to buy the pack. Btw did you know that cats and dogs is 50% off since the release of my first pet?

I love how some of these reviewers are afraid of giving their honest opinion, because if they do EA will stop giving them review codes like they did to LGR. It’s a completely different experience when you have to pay for this game yourself, and see how ridiculous the cost is.
Moschino stuff is a great example. UA-camrs made everyone feel like it was worth while then when people actually got the packs it was a whole different story.
Game changers are ridiculous, they get excited over the littlest things (that should be base game to begin with) and make it look like nothing's changed, or it's okay because it's Sims. Sim content is their livelihood. But honesty is crucial when the games and packs have veered off this much from the original concept. To me, Sims isn't Sims anymore. Sims 4 = Nothing but a Cashgrab.

Katy Perry Sweet Treats was bad because it was trying to syphon as much money out of a Brand Deal My First Pet Stuff was bad because it was riding the wave of popularity of another DLC, of which was an Expansion Pack Who's the really loser in all of this. If you're asking me, I'd probably say it's pretty tied. Dunno what kind of mods go with MFPS, but I do know a few lots and even a world which does need KPSS, which are mostly Halloween themed. Now if only it was on sale at Steam, cause maybe, just maybe, I might get it.
Not really when you consider World of Warcraft. Each one for that expands where the last expansion's level cap left off, which means that they've made expansions of expansions of expansions of expansions (and it could go on further, but I won't).
My First Pet stuff? Oh guess what, my first pet was a turtle. Where are the reptiles, the birds? Oh I know. Each will come in individual stuff packs later -_-
THIS! If they wanted to sell this as a pack it should have been solely about the small animals, not extra stuff for C&D. A standalone that had these pets with more features and some birds and lizards and turtles and snakes. Hell, it was either the Basegame or Get To Work that added collecting frogs and those are all I need for small pets at this rate.

Yeah, where are them ferrets at? But still, the normal pets ep could have easilly had loads of smaller animals in it too. I know everyone loves all the pet eps across the series as a whole, and while I do like them and I understand cats and dogs will be main focus because they are common as muck pets.....I feel the other sorts of pets should get more attention then they have been, if only for the sake of variety. I've already pet the dog....I want something else now.
It's true. They did. They also ate the pet food. I had the toddlers sleep in pet beds and eat pet food so their parents didn't have to put them in and out of the crib and waste time feeding them. Total parental neglect but the kids were fine!

On the forums they circulated a survey that asked about a game pack with minor pets and a pet shop business too, even if it's less than what prev gen sims have given us it would have been better than this
Remember how The Sims 2's Pets had cats, dogs, parrots and hamsters? - Yes? Well, do you remember how The Sims 3's Pets expansion topped it by adding horses, different small birds, lizards, snakes, turtles, hamsters and mice you could find around the world, befriend and collect? I do not hate this game, nor its developers. I hate EA for being greedy bastards.
Don't forget the two snakes in World Adventures (cobra and king cobra) and the one viper that you could tell it to go crawl up someone's trousers and bite them.
Yeah Sims 1, 2 and 3 had good packs, this is just a giant crap fest on Simmers who have been around since the beginning (played Sims 1 when I was about 5/6 and even Simcity)

onlyabidoang Wait till they make a Seasons Expansion with a stuff pack containing the seasonal decor and clothing together with a game pack that will add interactions centered around said expansion. You cant use the said stuff and game pack without that expansion

I think we can all agree that this pack would’ve been okay if it was “First *Pets* Stuff” with multiple small animals like turtles, birds, reptiles whatever and included less C&D exclusive content.
The sims 3 pets had more detail to the rodent cages. They were all different in their own ways there were even snakes, lizards, birds, turtles and horses.. This makes me annoyed :/ they better have horses soon

I know this comment is five years old but honestly I would have loved to see snakes, lizards, birds, and turtles as part of smaller stuff pack, or even a kit. Unless if they specifically make something for reptiles and birds that goes all the way into herpetology and ornithology-style breeding and showing and stuff like that, or maybe includes a whole new animal shelter or pet shop that also happens to have cross-pack compatibility with CAD and MFPS (as in, like, the ability to see dogs and cats be adoptable, not a whole "you have to own these packs"), then I don't think I could justify it as a game pack. As for horses, I think Cottage Living would have been a great place to add them, and fairies.' In short, you're absolutely right and I am also frustrated with EA.

I feel like you were the only one speaking on this BEFORE things got to THIS point. They had been watering down their game elements & expansion packs since its release date. But there had been SO MANY people hyping Sims 4 that it went under the radar until this stuff pack came out. It sucks that people are NOW just realizing how money-grabby EA has gotten with Sims 4, but I’m glad people are seeing it now. Sims 3 had high prices for their expansion & stuff packs, but at least they were FULL of content with little to none left out all together (instead of being spread of into other stuff packs/game packs for money). I will always prefer Sims 3 anyday. 🤷🏽♀️
This was the Stuff pack that made me quit Sims 4. I installed Sims 3 and OMG am I blown away by the number of things I can do. Ambitions and Late Night EPs are massive! I also went adventuring in France and I loved it. Wine Making!! I just realized how shallow the Sims 4 is.
I won't quit sims 4 cause frankly it's the only Sims game that's actually stable (Sims 3 is a clusterfuck and kept breaking my computers) but I ain't buying any more packs now. Luckily the last two I bought were 50% off anyway.
I just started playing TS3 again too! In the past 3 days my sim created a dystopian future, met a unicorn, made two 5 star beach resorts, and became a 3 star celebrity. Soon I'm gonna make her an alchemist witch. There's just SO MUCH MORE you can do in TS3 and it was executed waaaaay better, it's actually fun. I've found TS4 expansions to kind of have some fun in it for maybe 2 days, but then there's nothing else that grabs me to KEEP playing it. TS4 has been such a letdown, and that's pretty upsetting.
I have 2,3,4 installed on my laptop.. (hope it wont break) but yeah sometimes i play 3 too incase i missed it! The car and going to workplace are awesome! And not forgetting about the another sim story when they get married and have children by their own. Sim 3 by far has longest of my playtime
NocturnalDream well on my older laptop i couldnt because there was app like photoshop or autocad too. Now i got newer gaming laptop, its just pure for games so never got that case actually.. well its still 2 years old
All of this stuff should have been included in the Cats & Dogs expansion... I know EA just wants our money but a pack that requires an expansion? This is getting even more ridiculous than it already was. I love The Sims series, too, but The Sims 4 has been full of disappointments :\
Honestly, I blame EA for whats been going on, and it's not just the sims they are messing up. They have destroyed most of there currently released games (besides battlefield which I think is the last real current popular game that they didn't fk up) and they do not care about the peoples thoughts. I was so excited to play the sims 4, but what I got was a slower more restrictive game then the sims 3!! How can a developer take a MASSIVE step back from how great the sims 3 was for the pc?? I would argue that Battlefield went downhill after battlefield 2, but since they want to compete with Call of Duty the pre-Battlefield 3 formula doesn't work I guess. Miss the old days of FPS.

Sweet Treats was actually useable. Some of the content was great for kids rooms or making a kid-themed park. The pack even came with lots. This S4 pack is by far the worst, and I have a feeling that LGR hates this pack more than Sweet Treats based on his reactions in this video.
AnnaJ19 in a sense, I think this is worse than Katie Perry's sweet treats because you have to pay 40 Dollars to get the full thing. At least KP ST didn't do that!
tbh if you comprare business practices each world offered at least 2 new game mechanics a bundle of clothes and a bunch of Build Mode and CaW objects besides an entirely new massive worldspace with some which was massive themed around something but the biggest plus is that you totally could modify the entirety of it, you could create the burbs, the shady part of town, the high-rise the downtown etc, it was fucking epic tbh, because you had the ability to make apartments in every world once you had the appropriate expansion.

What EA desperately needs, is some strong competition in the life simulator market. City Skylines effectively showed that beating EA at their own game is not only possible, but very profitable. I’m just hoping we see another game developer take the risk. EDIT: also WHY THE FUCK are there so many clothing items for your pets? Who the heck is putting a sushi costume on their cat? Does EA seriously think a few animal costumes makes up for uninspired pet gameplay?
Your wish has been granted. Recently, so many life simulator games popping up, that even sims 4 expansion packs go on sale for 60%, instead of the usual max 50%. And My First Pet Stuff is 100% sale (free) now until Jan 9th 2024 (depends on your time zone).
This should've definitely been a free update to the Cats & Dogs expansion. $10 for just this is ridiculous. $50 (nearly the price of most full AAA games on release day) to get all of what this offers is insane. If not making it a free update for Cats & Dogs, even this is a better idea: Cats & Dogs + this stuff should've been bundled into a single "Pets" expansion & only cost ~$15 (with EA ~$30 would be a more generous "low" estimate, though). Small stuff like the hampster tubes for the wall being 2D decals instead of useful / interactive objects is just insult to injury as some of these ideas have potential but are just shoved in as static, non-interactive eye candy :/
they keep releasing things in a pattern. They'll release an expansion pack followed by 2 stuff packs, then a game pack, followed by another 2 stuff packs, and then another expansion pack. they just released this stuff pack so another 1 should be coming soon and then an expansion pack.

You do remember EA destroyed star wars battlefront 2 with an awful amount of microtransactions and made politicians involved as that was considering gambling, right?
It's like they couldn't figure out how to incorporate loot boxes in to the Sims 4. But if you think about it, these stuff packs are pretty much loot boxes, without the randomness. Just the feeling of emptiness from lack of content and feeling that EA is just a bunch of greedy assholes that think we are all Sim zombies that will constantly buy their crap because they have recognized IP's.

Nothing in that stuff pack I'd want. Human-furniture with pet-theme? Nah. Cat-Dog clothes? Not without winter (and even that would be iffy) and not some silly costumes. Dog-bed that looks like someone flayed a dog to make it? Cat-litter box looking like a big cat eating your kitty going in? Uhh... *what* were they thinking? Pet-Halloween?

This is some serious fucking nickel and diming by EA. If I remember correctly, "minor" pets like hamsters were included in all of the previous Pets expansions. Now you have to buy them separately? Wtf?

Im gonna be honest i never liked dressing my pets in the first place AND i dont want animal decoration and the hamster is basically useless so this pack is as useless as a sims 4 hamster
even though I get sims is stylized and not reality, to me it sends a message that's way worse than any dumb burglar (regarding the dumb 'burglar is bad for PTSD' argument...and that's why they can't add burglars (poopie)) could. It tells you throwing dresses on your animal is cute. My cat becomes suicidal if I do that. In a way, to most animals less tolerant, it's animal abuse. On another note; even if I don't care, I'd rather have something adding to GAMEPLAY, this dumb animal dressing is useless and is just a slapped on top wardrobe thing.
Hahaha same. I have bought 0 expansion whatsoever for both sims 4 and sims 3 (yeah I know some from sims 3 are worth it but I was late to the party) BUT I've watched every single episode of LGR reviewing them xD
It is mainly EA being greedy but partly to do with impatient simmers. People were demanding pets, causing EA to put pressure on the development team, resulting in a rushed product with left out items. I’m worried that this will happen to seasons because players won’t shut up about it. EA is money hungry and they have no problem rushing a product that could have been a lot better. If we would just wait and not make a fuss we might get better, more fleshed out expansions and packs.

Macho Fantastico Battlefront 2 was a new game with a huge issue. The Sims 4 is an old game not many people care about anymore, that has an issue with expansions.

You should only be able to use cat clothes if you have Sims 4: Hospital Stuff installed, because there’s no way you’re getting a T-shirt on a cat without losing a lot of blood.

Massive respect for your integrity of continuing to cover this crap to get the word out and supporting the donation campaign, it's somewhat sad some people try and excuse the stuff being put out but as a community I'm glad to see people take a stand. Hopefully a competitor arises or another company gets their hands on the sims to make a game with sensible expansions and base game to revitalise everything and make a game worth it.
In sims 3, you payed $40 for cats, dogs, rodents, turtles, birds, snakes, lizards, horses, and unicorns. In sims 4 you have to pay $40 for cats and dogs, and then another $10 to have rodents and some clothes for your cats and dogs. About the only thing that you didn’t get with sims 3 pets that i would’ve liked that sims 4 gave is quirks. But in sims 4 you can’t even see what quirks they have until it actually happens.
1) I love your Sims 1 reference when talking about the rodent disease! 2) You pretty much stole the words out of my mouth with this. It's the worst knowing that there's people (like myself and many others) that will definitely buy it to have it and how EA exploits that fact. Over the years I've watched MANY game companies slither DLC into their games, EA being a big one, and it's just really sad (but unfortunately not surprising) that they've gotten the Sims team as well. This most definitely should have been included in Cats and Dogs and makes it quite transparent that EA is definitely in it for the money tenfolds.
How does EA get away with this? They've been blatantly shortchanging customers with the Sims for YEARS. What is it about the Sims fanbase specifically that makes them so willing to accept such scummy business practices again and again and again? Considering the amount of flak Battlefront 2 got, why is nobody up in arms about this? EA are due another rude awakening, either from backlash after overstepping the line like they did with Battlefront or from a competitor stealing their thunder like Cities: Skylines did to SimCity.
You're bang on about the lack of choice, it's a genre of one. But that monopoly means they'll never abandon the franchise, it will always have die-hard fans who will keep buying. Walking away from the Sims would open the door for somebody else to swoop in and steal the audience. All a competitor would have to do is be slightly less shitty than EA, which must be the lowest a bar has ever been set in the history of bar-setting.
They get away with it because people pay for it. We, as customers, have the power to vote with our wallets. If WE don't buy it, they stop because they realize it's not profitable. But as long as there's demand, there's supply. People who buy this kind of shit (or pre-order a game, or buy a Game of the Year edition) keep perpetuating this culture. Remember when a game was tested before release? When there were no day one patches because the developers fucked up and released trash? When we didn't get content that was supposed to be in the game in the first place because the company wanted to get more money for the same amount of effort? Yeah, I miss those days too.
I loved simcity in various forms for years, but then it all went a bit different and I stopped having fun :( Now I love cities skylines :) I still like the sims, TS4 does have some genuinely good stuff going on, but I can see someone else trying out making a similar themed game sooner or later.
Can they though? Maybe more sales on an individual pack, but making something good takes more work, whereas they can pump out an endless stream of this shit with barely any resources taken up. A literal couple of 3d artists and someone familiar enough with the engine to put the models and animations together. No design documents or intensive engine work required. And if there's one thing capitalism encourages it's being a cheap piece of shit.

Make DLC Remove 20% of the content Put $40 price tag on the remaining 80% A few weeks later, put $10+ price tag on remaining 20% and say its 'new' content

I will admit, as someone who has only ever gotten pets from shelters, the donation did make me tear up a bit. Glad to see a great review that helps to consider whether or not to actually buy a pack (I use it for a lot of Sims 4 packs, they're really useful and also entertaining!) EA. With channels like Deligracy, Sim Supply, and Dutch constantly shilling out to everything they do (I still love and watch these youtubers) and not enough channels like yours calling out EA for their gouging of costumers, nothing will ever change. Fortunately, the best Sims games are not only already made, but also had very little influence from EA.
to my opinion Deligracy and LGR were the only ppl who really talked about how bad this pack was, the others only said a few bad things, but didn't really expressed how horrible this is. I was mostly dissapointed with Sim Supply.

Yes. They patch and update the game all the time. They should've updated it for free to include this like they did toddlers, instead of selling it. Seems like leftovers from the pets expansion. Also, if EA made this a free update, many players would be glad and see it as EA trying to be good to it's fanbase again.

Seriously, what the hell happened to The Sims?? From Sims 1 up till 2 was absolutely jam packed and evrything in the pack was worth it. The sims 3 was when they started to mess things up like the katy perry stuff pack which was terrible , and now we get even worse?? And the KP + Showtime Special edition is actually cheaper than Showtime itself shortly after release. Or at least it was. Which is the only reason I technically own but have no installed KPST. It was 12 bucks cheaper than buying just Show-time.
To clarify a point I brought up about disliking the idea of packs mixing content that is both *for DLC-owners* and *for everyone...* It's all about context.
As an example, in Jungle Adventures I mentioned that having some new outfits for cats and dogs would've been nice. But here I'm saying that including them is off-putting. Here's an expansion (pardon the pun) on my thought process:
In my mind, including a few bonus pet outfits in an unrelated and _much larger_ game pack would be nice as a nod to C&D owners, much like how Jungle Adventures and other packs have included new foods to use with Dine Out restaurants if you happen to own that. It'd be a small extra thing for certain players, but not a significant focus of the pack.
However, the fact that _SO MUCH_ of My First Pet stuff is only available to Cats & Dogs owners is another story and feels manipulative. It's selling a sizable chunk of its content to certain customers and potentially shafting others, whereas Jungle Adventures has plenty for everyone to dive into regardless of what you own.
As I briefly mentioned in the video, I'd be happier if the DLC was _only_ for Cats & Dogs owners, since that way there is no splitting of the player base and making non-owners of the expansion feel pressured to buy another $40 pack to access everything they bought. I'd be down for, say, a pack of large new districts for City Living. _Provided_ that it's clearly and primarily meant for City Living owners and isn't locking away a big chunk of its content while providing something smaller to tease everyone else (ie, hamsters.)
I apologize if there was any confusion as I don't want to come off as inconsistent. But well, I have inconsistent ideas about The Sims 4 as you might imagine. Communicating ideas consistently is tough when you're talking about subjective opinions on separate context-sensitive packs, since my point of view changes with each pack. What I thought about something in the past can very easily change in the future!

I love how some of these reviewers are afraid of giving their honest opinion, because if they do EA will stop giving them review codes like they did to LGR. It’s a completely different experience when you have to pay for this game yourself, and see how ridiculous the cost is.

UA-camrs made everyone feel like it was worth while then when people actually got the packs it was a whole different story.
Game changers are ridiculous, they get excited over the littlest things (that should be base game to begin with) and make it look like nothing's changed, or it's okay because it's Sims. Sim content is their livelihood. But honesty is crucial when the games and packs have veered off this much from the original concept. To me, Sims isn't Sims anymore. Sims 4 = Nothing but a Cashgrab.

A standalone that had these pets with more features and some birds and lizards and turtles and snakes. It's true. They did. They also ate the pet food. I had the toddlers sleep in pet beds and eat pet food so their parents didn't have to put them in and out of the crib and waste time feeding them. Total parental neglect but the kids were fine!

I know this comment is five years old but honestly I would have loved to see snakes, lizards, birds, and turtles as part of smaller stuff pack, or even a kit. Unless if they specifically make something for reptiles and birds that goes all the way into herpetology and ornithology-style breeding and showing and stuff like that, or maybe includes a whole new animal shelter or pet shop that also happens to have cross-pack compatibility with CAD and MFPS (as in, like, the ability to see dogs and cats be adoptable, not a whole "you have to own these packs"), then I don't think I could justify it as a game pack. As for horses, I think Cottage Living would have been a great place to add them, and fairies.'

I feel like you were the only one speaking on this BEFORE things got to THIS point. They had been watering down their game elements & expansion packs since its release date. But there had been SO MANY people hyping Sims 4 that it went under the radar until this stuff pack came out.
It sucks that people are NOW just realizing how money-grabby EA has gotten with Sims 4, but I’m glad people are seeing it now. Sims 3 had high prices for their expansion & stuff packs, but at least they were FULL of content with little to none left out all together (instead of being spread of into other stuff packs/game packs for money).
I will always prefer Sims 3 anyday. 🤷🏽♀️

This was the Stuff pack that made me quit Sims 4. I installed Sims 3 and OMG am I blown away by the number of things I can do. Ambitions and Late Night EPs are massive! I also went adventuring in France and I loved it. Wine Making!! I just realized how shallow the Sims 4 is.
I won't quit sims 4 cause frankly it's the only Sims game that's actually stable (Sims 3 is a clusterfuck and kept breaking my computers) but I ain't buying any more packs now. Luckily the last two I bought were 50% off anyway.
I just started playing TS3 again too! In the past 3 days my sim created a dystopian future, met a unicorn, made two 5 star beach resorts, and became a 3 star celebrity. Soon I'm gonna make her an alchemist witch. There's just SO MUCH MORE you can do in TS3 and it was executed waaaaay better, it's actually fun. I've found TS4 expansions to kind of have some fun in it for maybe 2 days, but then there's nothing else that grabs me to KEEP playing it. TS4 has been such a letdown, and that's pretty upsetting.
I have 2,3,4 installed on my laptop.. (hope it wont break) but yeah sometimes i play 3 too incase i missed it! The car and going to workplace are awesome! And not forgetting about the another sim story when they get married and have children by their own. Sim 3 by far has longest of my playtime

Honestly, I blame EA for whats been going on, and it's not just the sims they are messing up. They have destroyed most of there currently released games (besides battlefield which I think is the last real current popular game that they didn't fk up) and they do not care about the peoples thoughts. Sweet Treats was actually useable. Some of the content was great for kids rooms or making a kid-themed park. The pack even came with lots. This S4 pack is by far the worst, and I have a feeling that LGR hates this pack more than Sweet Treats based on his reactions in this video.

tbh if you comprare business practices each world offered at least 2 new game mechanics a bundle of clothes and a bunch of Build Mode and CaW objects besides an entirely new massive worldspace with some which was massive themed around something but the biggest plus is that you totally could modify the entirety of it, you could create the burbs, the shady part of town, the high-rise the downtown etc, it was fucking epic tbh, because you had the ability to make apartments in every world once you had the appropriate expansion.

What EA desperately needs, is some strong competition in the life simulator market. City Skylines effectively showed that beating EA at their own game is not only possible, but very profitable. I’m just hoping we see another game developer take the risk.

This should've definitely been a free update to the Cats & Dogs expansion. $10 for just this is ridiculous. $50 (nearly the price of most full AAA games on release day) to get all of what this offers is insane. If not making it a free update for Cats & Dogs, even this is a better idea: Cats & Dogs + this stuff should've been bundled into a single "Pets" expansion & only cost ~$15 (with EA ~$30 would be a more generous "low" estimate, though). Small stuff like the hampster tubes for the wall being 2D decals instead of useful / interactive objects is just insult to injury as some of these ideas have potential but are just shoved in as static, non-interactive eye candy :/

It's like they couldn't figure out how to incorporate loot boxes in to the Sims 4. But if you think about it, these stuff packs are pretty much loot boxes, without the randomness. Just the feeling of emptiness from lack of content and feeling that EA is just a bunch of greedy assholes that think we are all Sim zombies that will constantly buy their crap because they have recognized IP's.

Nothing in that stuff pack I'd want. Human-furniture with pet-theme? Nah. Cat-Dog clothes? Not without winter (and even that would be iffy) and not some silly costumes. Dog-bed that looks like someone flayed a dog to make it? Cat-litter box looking like a big cat eating your kitty going in? Uhh... *what* were they thinking? Pet-Halloween?

This pack might be worth getting RIGHT NOW... as the cost is relatively low at the bargain basement price of $0.00 on steam or through the EA app.
This is some serious fucking nickel and diming by EA. If I remember correctly, "minor" pets like hamsters were included in all of the previous Pets expansions. Now you have to buy them separately? Wtf?
Pretty sure the hamster cage was a free download for the original Sims that didn't require buying anything to use!

Im gonna be honest i never liked dressing my pets in the first place AND i dont want animal decoration and the hamster is basically useless so this pack is as useless as a sims 4 hamster
even though I get sims is stylized and not reality, to me it sends a message that's way worse than any dumb burglar (regarding the dumb 'burglar is bad for PTSD' argument...and that's why they can't add burglars (poopie)) could. It tells you throwing dresses on your animal is cute. My cat becomes suicidal if I do that. In a way, to most animals less tolerant, it's animal abuse. On another note; even if I don't care, I'd rather have something adding to GAMEPLAY, this dumb animal dressing is useless and is just a slapped on top wardrobe thing.
The only thing I like about Sims 4 is your reviews. When they announce a new pack I always get excited for your review and not the pack. Thanks

It is mainly EA being greedy but partly to do with impatient simmers. People were demanding pets, causing EA to put pressure on the development team, resulting in a rushed product with left out items. I’m worried that this will happen to seasons because players won’t shut up about it. EA is money hungry and they have no problem rushing a product that could have been a lot better. If we would just wait and not make a fuss we might get better, more fleshed out expansions and packs.

1. No matter how much we complain about the fact that it was *laundry*, it was the Sims community that chose it.

Considering the hate EA got for Battlefront 2, it's amazing that they continue to get away with this crap.
Macho Fantastico Battlefront 2 was a new game with a huge issue. The Sims 4 is an old game not many people care about anymore, that has an issue with expansions.

Massive respect for your integrity of continuing to cover this crap to get the word out and supporting the donation campaign, it's somewhat sad some people try and excuse the stuff being put out but as a community I'm glad to see people take a stand. Hopefully a competitor arises or another company gets their hands on the sims to make a game with sensible expansions and base game to revitalise everything and make a game worth it.

In sims 3, you payed $40 for cats, dogs, rodents, turtles, birds, snakes, lizards, horses, and unicorns. In sims 4 you have to pay $40 for cats and dogs, and then another $10 to have rodents and some clothes for your cats and dogs. About the only thing that you didn’t get with sims 3 pets that i would’ve liked that sims 4 gave is quirks. But in sims 4 you can’t even see what quirks they have until it actually happens.
Now another $40 for horses in The Sims 4.
So $40 + $10 + $40 = $90 for what was $40 in The Sims 3.

2) You pretty much stole the words out of my mouth with this. It's the worst knowing that there's people (like myself and many others) that will definitely buy it to have it and how EA exploits that fact. Over the years I've watched MANY game companies slither DLC into their games, EA being a big one, and it's just really sad (but unfortunately not surprising) that they've gotten the Sims team as well.
This most definitely should have been included in Cats and Dogs and makes it quite transparent that EA is definitely in it for the money tenfolds.

How does EA get away with this? They've been blatantly shortchanging customers with the Sims for YEARS. What is it about the Sims fanbase specifically that makes them so willing to accept such scummy business practices again and again and again? Considering the amount of flak Battlefront 2 got, why is nobody up in arms about this?
EA are due another rude awakening, either from backlash after overstepping the line like they did with Battlefront or from a competitor stealing their thunder like Cities: Skylines did to SimCity.
You're bang on about the lack of choice, it's a genre of one. But that monopoly means they'll never abandon the franchise, it will always have die-hard fans who will keep buying. Walking away from the Sims would open the door for somebody else to swoop in and steal the audience. All a competitor would have to do is be slightly less shitty than EA, which must be the lowest a bar has ever been set in the history of bar-setting.
They get away with it because people pay for it. We, as customers, have the power to vote with our wallets. If WE don't buy it, they stop because they realize it's not profitable. But as long as there's demand, there's supply. People who buy this kind of shit (or pre-order a game, or buy a Game of the Year edition) keep perpetuating this culture. Remember when a game was tested before release? When there were no day one patches because the developers fucked up and released trash? When we didn't get content that was supposed to be in the game in the first place because the company wanted to get more money for the same amount of effort? Yeah, I miss those days too.

I loved simcity in various forms for years, but then it all went a bit different and I stopped having fun :( Now I love cities skylines :) I still like the sims, TS4 does have some genuinely good stuff going on, but I can see someone else trying out making a similar themed game sooner or later.
When will they learn that they can make more money by actually giving players WHAT THEY WANT. WHAT A CONCEPT.

Can they though? Maybe more sales on an individual pack, but making something good takes more work, whereas they can pump out an endless stream of this shit with barely any resources taken up. A literal couple of 3d artists and someone familiar enough with the engine to put the models and animations together. No design documents or intensive engine work required.

I will admit, as someone who has only ever gotten pets from shelters, the donation did make me tear up a bit. Glad to see a great review that helps to consider whether or not to actually buy a pack (I use it for a lot of Sims 4 packs, they're really useful and also entertaining!)

EA. With channels like Deligracy, Sim Supply, and Dutch constantly shilling out to everything they do (I still love and watch these youtubers) and not enough channels like yours calling out EA for their gouging of costumers, nothing will ever change. Fortunately, the best Sims games are not only already made, but also had very little influence from EA.

to my opinion Deligracy and LGR were the only ppl who really talked about how bad this pack was, the others only said a few bad things, but didn't really expressed how horrible this is. I was mostly dissapointed with Sim Supply.
But, both Deligracy and Sim Supply complained as well (I don't watch them but I did watch their review for this pack), the thing is, none of them have the balls to actually call EA out like Clint does.

Yes. They patch and update the game all the time. They should've updated it for free to include this like they did toddlers, instead of selling it. Seems like leftovers from the pets expansion.

Seriously, what the hell happened to The Sims?? From Sims 1 up till 2 was absolutely jam packed and evrything in the pack was worth it. The sims 3 was when they started to mess things up like the katy perry stuff pack which was terrible , and now we get even worse??
