Thanks for answering! I saw that but perceived it as commentary on a lack of active career options. It doesn't seem like it would be that much more complex, since the animations are the same for the NPC employees we must hire.
I can't believe we can't work as chefs. What an odd choice to make for a restaurant pack. It's really a bad move since not everyone wants to be manager, plus we wouldn't have to deal with a bunch of employees who can be frustrating. I want a Mom and Pop restaurant!
In Get to Work you could act as an employee. This made up for their gross incompetence. In this you can only be a manager and watch the game play out around you. It's a bit disappointing.
Really disappointed to learn that you can only be a 'manager'. I had an idea for a family run diner, with the parents doing the cooking & the kids doing stuff like clearing tables, cleaning the toilets etc. I didn't like the way that 'employees' worked in 'Get To Work', so do not want to go through that again.
You still can have kids clear the tables up, it'll give the waitstaff more time to take orders and bring tables their food. Also, the employees do a very good job at staying on task in this game pack. GtW employees suck imo.

Love this idea for this pack. Looks incredibly fun, and since cooking/restaurant entertainment has been SO prominent in the last several years, it's also just really smart. Since moving, I can't find a new coffee cafe, so there's something comforting about getting to make one and watching it slowly suffer from bad reviews. ... And I should also mention that I ADORE the gender fluid options; my fashion preferences were always on the masculine size so yaay. Now I can wear a leather jacket to my liking. And there were NEVER enough long hair options for men, especially in Sims 4. Glad we can interchange everything now.
Wishful thinking on the color wheel, non tied to bassinets infants and toddlers ... this game is still a mess of quickly released packs, etc that are full of bugs but people keep buying them .... sigh
I hope you were wearing a biohazard suit, considering that the laziness of the developers is contagious and a level 4 Biohazard, there is no cure or vaccine and it is deadly.
Got to say ive been following all of these sims 4 EP videos for 2 years now and STILL not a single EP has come how that makes me want to play this game. With 3 for every boring ass EP there was a neat one like late night or super natural that made me want a pc strong enough to run sims on it. This... the lack of content in the base game is so bad not a single one of these EPs adds any features that can make me over look all the shit they took out.
and some of the quarky bugs LGR talks about me just annoy me. Like the sims seem to be out of control O_O Like why would a sim stand up while they are at a restaurant during the meal just to drink. I have never seen anything like that in any of the previous sim games. It like takes me out of the immersion =/ I too am waiting for more xpacs till I consider coming back. I honestly hope they come out with a Sims 5 lol that makes things better.
yea, the game still feels so empty to me. and if you want to talk immersion breaking, whenever one of my sims gets said, either from the gloomy trait or from watching their fiance die, they get sad and want to cry in bed, but the room is nicely decorated so once they enter it they are no longer feeling sad and go back into the bare hallway where they get said again, and the whole cycle continues. it also stand to highlight just how disconnected the traits are, even the emotional ones, from the sims' actual emotions. Like a gloomy sim doesn't get any more upset by sad events than a non-gloomy sim does, they just just get sad randomly, it's so frustrating. And the fact that they can have only 3 traits just compounds the problem
Yeah i understand ya i remember getting get together and being so frustrated with what they had done it was a perfect opportunity to bring interesting things for each life stage since "clubs" aren't limited to just young adults like it would have been a great opportunity to bring back slumber parties, teen house parties, other venues like movie theaters(even though they obviously saved that for movie hangout stuff and still managed to screw that up) they could added social networking back in the game buuuuuuut...no we get random clubs that will get boring after 2 hours worth of game play😑
"Game packs" are so insulting to players. Sims 4 is like the IKEA of Sims games. If all of those packs had been included in the main game, Sims 4 would've been a very decent title. Unfortunately, corporate greed made it the worst title in the series.
+Alex Parker. No dummy, it would have taken the same amount of time that it's taken them already. It is the Ikea of games or even more it's just like The Sims Freeplay. An abbreviated version of The Sims 2 and 3.
For people watching this review who are looking to serve non American food at their restaurants, which the pack itself didn’t have like Lgr said, any food that you order from a food stall thanks to city living you can then cook in your restaurant. This leaves you open to serving whatever Indian, Central American etc you learn in your restaurant. Luckily with the newer patches you can also now be a food critic (though you still can’t be a waiter or actually cook for your customers).
Mmh okay... I dunno I just feel like we should have already had these features with Get to Work and/or Get Together. This is just making me more grumpy about the way they're implementing features.
Like we could have waited two years for this game. Genders Update should have been included since the beginning, certain stuff packs could have been combined into major expansion packs, etc. The constant updates out of the ass without a manual option is just ridiculous. And the fucked up part about all of this is that all of this is that EA EASILY charges for it. Smdh.
I agree! Since owning restaurants is so much alike owning businesses, this definitely should have come in Get to Work. I'm sick of expansion packs that are only really worth like $25, but charge you for $40! In Sims 3, $40 expansions came with a bunch of stuff, while in Sims 4 expansions, you still have a sense of wanting. I've only played with clubs for a few months, and I'm already bored with them. This is the problem with Sims 4 content: it only entertains you for a little while, then you get bored with it. The wishing well from Romantic Garden Stuff was cool at first, but then it started to get boring because the results become extremely predictable. It's also driving me bonkers that they keep on dropping like 2 GB updates! I have other things I need to do with my storage! All the stuff in these updates should have been included in the base game, and there is more stuff that should have been included too, like toddlers, cars, more stuff for kids, different teen height, more jobs, and more stuff to distinct teens from young adults. I mean teens are just young adults who are slightly skinnier, and go to High School instead of having jobs! There are some things I enjoy about Sims 4 that separate it from Sims 3 and keep it entertaining, but how they create expansions, game packs, and stuff packs really needs improvement.
I must say, I know everyone will eat me up for this, but I really hope they'll make another supernatural expansion, like they did for the sims 3, even tho that one was quite incomplete in my opinion XD
Maybe one that is as well integrated as The Sims 1: Makin Magic, because that was added as a sort of can be used and is there if you want, while also adding so much to the game that even for someone who wasn't in anyway wanting that gameplay, would sometimes use. I'm not into supernatural in my gameplay but the Sims:Makin Magic was still used extremely often by me.
The sims 4 drives me crazy with these loading screens. The sims 4 still cannot compare to the sims 3 sadly. I used to always play the sims 3, and now I never play the sims 4. I probably only play once or twice a month at most.
by far my FAVORITE Pack, i love the idea of building restaurants.. wish they payed more... but taking dates to Restaurants and ordering for the Table makes me so happy!, i have me and my real life friends recreated in the sims 4 and being able to take me and my friends to Dinner or breakfast on my sims day off work makes me so happy and i love it. ill be honest to any people who are thinking about buying this pack, DO IT, if you really get into your sims and have your friends in your game as well its so fun going out to dinner!
I got this for free in a giveaway but I still watched the review. While I may not really go for managing one, I have a bunch of sims that need a place to 'dine out'. That and I wanna make a Chucke E. Cheese with the waiters in Bear Suits. XD
Just so you know Clint... if I ever get around to playing any SIMS games- it will only be due to your regular reviews of them. Love the show, thanks for posting!!
If you decide to give the Sims 3 a try, make sure to get the 3booter launcher and FPS Limiter utilities, it fixes almost every problem the Sims 3 has since it corrects the optimization mistakes EA never bothered to despite it apparently being super easy to fix. (the issue is that the game is terribly optimized for anything above a potato and the better your PC, the worse it runs...putting in the appropriate limitations and features that should've been there by default makes a RIDICULOUS difference in the game play experience in ways you wouldn't even think would be effected).
I really always like your reviews a lot. Mainly cause you are a fan who want's the Sims to be the best. On top of that you bring it so hilarious. Thank you once again.
Unless they address the core issues in the game like such a stifled neighbourhood, lack of job choices, loading screens constantly, oh and the fact that now EA thinks that in real house fires people get out a fire extinguisher and fight the blaze alone despite the fact that Will Wright I'm sure will attest otherwise. It's never going to be worth it over sims 3, at least in my opinion.
+jon alexander I just always buy the home alarm system, unless I'm intentionally killing someone by fire of course. But I want Seasons and Pets so bad, even if the pets are more like in preS3 versions where they're just there.
EveryoneHasMyNames True, but what I meant is it is somewhat odd that if you have a fire there isn't even a fire department to put it out for you, rather you watch the house burn or you put it out yourself, also the lack of burglars and police response isn't that great either. Now you can't apparently have stuff stolen.
Man that color would would be a great addition, too! This whole new thing where you can explore around your lot is cool, if only they could open up the entire town or even world like that... shame we can't have that though... oh, wait....
My favorite the sims youtuber Been using all your vids for my the sims3 purchasion Now that the sims4 is available on steam. I will use your ts4 review for guide
They should have a buffet station where you can choose the type of foods in the stations, salad bar, desserts,e.t.c, so the sims self serve. the waiters just have to keep up with cleaning the tables, stocking up the food stations, preventing customers from fighting, sweeping floors from being dirty. Maybe even a revolving counter for sushi that is customizable to back tables right up against it and defiantly should bring back the tepenyaki table. The sims dine out has so much potential. I just got mine yesterday lol
If the Sims devs are doing these pack refreshes for all the older packs, I hope they tinker with Dine Out to sort out the many buggy issues, or the slowness of how things get done in your restaurant.
These videos are so helpful whenever I want to buy a new pack for the Sims. I can see which ones have stuff I'm looking, which are better recommended and not waste my money!
Your Videos help me decide on what to buy, I bought this pack recently love it !!! Mods make it even more AMAZING with more foods and color choices and new items ..
*Built a resteraunt *spent hours on it's creation *made it look nice and presentable *saved it *went into create a sim to edit the cheif uniform *went back *the game had reverted the place back to an empty lot *Sold the lot and am never touching the resteraunt reatail again
S a m e. It was so frustrating, and i didnt think that id ever rage quit a game like ts4,,, but i did. Re did the entire thing a day later or else I'd end up tossing my laptop out the window out of frustration
I'm thinking the reason EA did not let you be a food critic is that (providing I'm understanding the game mechanics correctly) you could easily abuse the system by purposely giving other restaurants bad ratings in order to improve your restaurant's standing. If so, then I can easily see why they didn't include that feature.
Yeah but you can also just trap them in a box and kill them. That would easily improve your restaurant by getting rid of the competition entirely. So I think EA just wasn't really thinking about it at the time to let you be a critic.
Alethia Haryanti Well....yes and no. "The Sims" video game series is supposed to be a lite simulation of real life. And unless you're Donald Trump, you wouldn't be able to realistically manipulate the system to your advantage in that specific way. It kind of begs the question, "At what point does easily exploitable systems (such as this one would have been if it were included in the game) become cheating?" Why don't I just fire up Cheat Engine and give the restaurant a five star rating that way? Like many simulation players out there, I bar myself from cheating. It takes away all the fun of the game.
Seems like a fun game pack that I would enjoy playing. I also really like the new lightning engine, I bet you could make some freaking awesome images. Thanks for the review.
I can now make my own 2 star McDowells burger place, with the employees wearing ugly sweaters, hot pink short shorts, no shoes, and wiener hats. THIS IS AMAZING!!!

And I should also mention that I ADORE the gender fluid options; my fashion preferences were always on the masculine size so yaay. Now I can wear a leather jacket to my liking. And there were NEVER enough long hair options for men, especially in Sims 4. Glad we can interchange everything now.
A Johnson I made my female character pee standing up
Are all of the burgers at Duke Burger... "nuked"?
that pun killed me inside
*****
Mission accomplished!
That's radiated bro.
*patiently waits for the LGR and PushingUpRoses lets play*
I was just about to comment something similar.
*sits and waits with you*
Toilet restaurant in the Clue Mansion.
Ah Yes! The color wheel. **sigh** Someday... 🍀
Wishful thinking on the color wheel, non tied to bassinets infants and toddlers ... this game is still a mess of quickly released packs, etc that are full of bugs but people keep buying them .... sigh
***** I bought on sale the original game played 30 mins and then threw it out
I hope you were wearing a biohazard suit, considering that the laziness of the developers is contagious and a level 4 Biohazard, there is no cure or vaccine and it is deadly.
Has anybody modded that in, or is it even possible to?
I've been coming to your reviews since late night. Will always love them
Glad you've stuck around!
could you do a "Let's Play with Chef Duke Nukem" for this expansion?
The best part of any new Sims 4 expansion is the LGR review. Thank you for these, good sir! Superb work, as always.
Thanks, glad you're still enjoying :)
If all of those packs had been included in the main game, Sims 4 would've been in development for 12 years....
+Alex Parker Ever played The Witcher 3? That's what this guy wants for The Sims.
K-Y junkies like you is the reason why the industry is so shit right now.
um what? the Sims 4 is the result of a failed social sims game
+Alex Parker.
No dummy, it would have taken the same amount of time that it's taken them already. It is the Ikea of games or even more it's just like The Sims Freeplay. An abbreviated version of The Sims 2 and 3.
Been waiting on your video. Love the sarcasm and objective criticism of The Sims games.
Excellent, thanks for watching :)
You are the first channel I check for reviews whenever a new sims related thing comes out! Thanks for always making them!! :)
Yay I'm so happy you got early access, your reviews are the best! Amazing review!
Jenni Simmer JENNI I DIDNT THINK ID SEE YOU HERE 😂
I hope EA keeps sending you early access stuff for the sims!
It'd be nice! Certainly helped me stress out less about getting the video out quickly, and gave me more time to focus on diving into the gameplay.
As soon as I got an email telling me about this game pack, I went right to UA-cam to watch your review. You have me well trained, sir. Well done!
LGR was literally the first channel I went to this morning when I heard Dine Out came out, love your reviews.
1:19 And this is why I love LGR.
4:48 is why I love em!
Alright, who made a Gordon Ramsey sim.
* raises hand *
Exactly... this should've been included in Get To Work or at least a free update.
^^^ All of this! Thank you!
5:51 Duke Nukem and Gordon Ramsay in a restaurant fight? Truly a battle for the ages
I have the entire Sims 4 library, been Simming for 19 years lol. But I love your reviews, they are truthful and HILARIOUS! Your commentary is superb!
I just found this channel pretty recently but it's already one of my favorites keep up the good work man
Awesome, I hope you continue to enjoy!
I must say, I know everyone will eat me up for this, but I really hope they'll make another supernatural expansion, like they did for the sims 3, even tho that one was quite incomplete in my opinion XD
i hope so too! even just as an option i loved it, and im sad we dont have mor life states by now.
Maybe one that is as well integrated as The Sims 1: Makin Magic, because that was added as a sort of can be used and is there if you want, while also adding so much to the game that even for someone who wasn't in anyway wanting that gameplay, would sometimes use. I'm not into supernatural in my gameplay but the Sims:Makin Magic was still used extremely often by me.
yeah, an alternate way to mess things around without pursuing a science career would be neat
I hope they do too!
*swallows you whole*
The sims 4 drives me crazy with these loading screens. The sims 4 still cannot compare to the sims 3 sadly. I used to always play the sims 3, and now I never play the sims 4. I probably only play once or twice a month at most.
I agree! My sister lets me play her Sims 3 game, and we both think that Sims 3 is better than Sims 4.
by far my FAVORITE Pack, i love the idea of building restaurants.. wish they payed more... but taking dates to Restaurants and ordering for the Table makes me so happy!, i have me and my real life friends recreated in the sims 4 and being able to take me and my friends to Dinner or breakfast on my sims day off work makes me so happy and i love it. ill be honest to any people who are thinking about buying this pack, DO IT, if you really get into your sims and have your friends in your game as well its so fun going out to dinner!
I got this for free in a giveaway but I still watched the review. While I may not really go for managing one, I have a bunch of sims that need a place to 'dine out'. That and I wanna make a Chucke E. Cheese with the waiters in Bear Suits. XD
Ooooh, I'd love to play with a Chuck E. Cheese in-game. I wonder if anyone can mod in some animatronics!
Five Nights, he he...
WHERE DID YOU WIN IT FROM YOU LUCKY PERSON
I won it on the forums in a giveaway.
+Losaru wow your lucky I would've bought it but I literally just bought the get together expansion pack so hopefully I can win somewhere too
I never buy a pack without watching your videos, thanks for your awesome reviews!!
+ZanathKariashi where do you get it?
I really always like your reviews a lot. Mainly cause you are a fan who want's the Sims to be the best. On top of that you bring it so hilarious.
Thank you once again.
Still waiting for Seasons expansion. Until then, Sims 3 > Sims 4.
It's never going to be worth it over sims 3, at least in my opinion.
jon alxander Actually I agree with you. Plus my sims won't stop smiling at the wall. Sims 3 > Sims 4. Forever.
Seasons and Pets are always the last two expansions
Man that color would would be a great addition, too! This whole new thing where you can explore around your lot is cool, if only they could open up the entire town or even world like that... shame we can't have that though... oh, wait....
Quxxn would've loved this pack...
:(
dont remind me =(
TwoGerbils Oh, who is Quxxn?
TwoGerbils ya. So sad when she died. She was one of the first UA-camrs I'd watch regularly
My favorite the sims youtuber
Been using all your vids for my the sims3 purchasion
Now that the sims4 is available on steam. I will use your ts4 review for guide
The only review i trust
Olivia Blake true
seriously i need a color wheel
I'm here to kick ass and flip burgers, and I'm all outta burgers!
I'd love to see a Let's Play, preferably with Pushing Up Roses.
We've talked about doing one, actually!
Awesome. I love the Clue Mansion and Insane Coffee Club videos. Oh yeah, and Casino Cop (RIP) if you want to dip back into the Sims 2 video series.
you always cover all bases thanks for another awesome review :)
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
I bought this pack bc I didn't have enough money to buy other pack and I don't regret it! It looks amazing
Game Packs are soooo much better then stuff packs
They should have a buffet station where you can choose the type of foods in the stations, salad bar, desserts,e.t.c, so the sims self serve. the waiters just have to keep up with cleaning the tables, stocking up the food stations, preventing customers from fighting, sweeping floors from being dirty. Maybe even a revolving counter for sushi that is customizable to back tables right up against it and defiantly should bring back the tepenyaki table. The sims dine out has so much potential. I just got mine yesterday lol
AHHHHHH AN LGR REVIEW THE SAME DAY?!?! Now I get to make my decision right away!
This makes me wish that you could have run a spa in spa day.
Wait wait wait wait, so your Sims can't be chefs themselves? Excuse me? I expected it to be the point of this pack. :| I'll see myself then...
Yeah, sadly not :/
If the Sims devs are doing these pack refreshes for all the older packs, I hope they tinker with Dine Out to sort out the many buggy issues, or the slowness of how things get done in your restaurant.
I swear I couldn't wait until it came out for the LGR video... I loveee watching the reviews.
These videos are so helpful whenever I want to buy a new pack for the Sims. I can see which ones have stuff I'm looking, which are better recommended and not waste my money!
i discovered you just a second ago and i absolutely love your humor and reviews, you're great!
Thanks!
His humor in older videos were better, but God he still deserves more subscribers.
+Zakattack's Geography definitely!
+1 just subbed to him myself :)
THE SALAD IS FUCKING RAW!
that chicken is so raw it TRIED TO CROSS THE ROAD
YOU'RE GONNA KILL SOMEONE!
Ol' Clint hittin the nail on the head as usual.
Can’t believe this is already 7 years old 😢
and still doesn't work 0_0
Good thing I was already eating a snack while watching this video...
No kidding! Playing this makes me _entirely_ too hungry..
I noticed you haven't reviewed Simisle, I just found a copy at a goodwill!
it's a pretty fun game, you should review it!
I like how with City Living, they fixed the "hole" where you couldn't be a food critic with dine out, because with City Living you can be one :)
i love how you narrate the vids
Sir you are the best critic of Sims games I have ever seen!!! Thank you for being so thorough!!! And funny!!!😂
WOO! Ralph gets a longer life! Though I think he'll probably be dead by the end of the year XD
Your Videos help me decide on what to buy, I bought this pack recently love it !!! Mods make it even more AMAZING with more foods and color choices and new items ..
wow loved your review very thorough and just great. Also loved the humor
Thank you!
Google: Bleach
I was waiting for this review all day :3 I trust them, They are honest :D
*Built a resteraunt
*spent hours on it's creation
*made it look nice and presentable *saved it
*went into create a sim to edit the cheif uniform
*went back
*the game had reverted the place back to an empty lot
*Sold the lot and am never touching the resteraunt reatail again
Yeah but that would be AWESOME!
Gaming the system and ruining other sims' lives is a big thing that makes these games so fun!
Yeah but you can also just trap them in a box and kill them. That would easily improve your restaurant by getting rid of the competition entirely. So I think EA just wasn't really thinking about it at the time to let you be a critic.
hahaha
That's the point of a sand box game...
Alethia Haryanti
Well....yes and no.
OMG did someone already make a Chef Ramsey sim? That would be so great! I can't wait to see it.
I just bought this because of your review. You are the most honest reviewer out there, thanks!
Yay, you're the only Sims reviewer I pay attention to :P
The manner in which you talk about gender 7 years ago is so inspiring. It’s why I’m still watching your videos to this day❤
Thanks for the great review. You remained fair and balanced as always!
"Feels like an expansion to the expansion" a perfect representation of the Sims 4 and its supplementary releases.
I bought Get to Work partly because I thought dining out would come with it. smh I was so disappointed, I havent bought any of the extras since
Loving your sims reviews, just subscribed. Greetings from the U.K. Xx
Thank you, greetings right back!
I died when you talked about getting an early copy, your reviews are the best.
I adore your reviews lol
Happy to hear it!
Six years later and this pack is still irreparably busted.
I like taking my sims out for dinner but I suck at running a restaurant
Thank you Clint - as always - for your humourous thoughtful and helpful reviews.
