My parents are the type where if you ask dad, he’ll tell you to go ask mom, but if you ask mom, she’ll tell you to go ask dad. In those situations, you do whatever you want.
I'm glad they made this pack, but The Sims 4 still desperately needs obstacles to shake up gameplay. I miss things going wrong...fires, robbers, accidental deaths and aspiration failures were always the best part of past Sims games. The Sims 4 needs to push back a little on the player so that everything isn't so predictable and easy.
I agree, I really miss robbery, getting hit by lighting, a more risky world overall! I think tS4 is too safe! The Vampires game pack delivered in that regard, but I realize playing fantasy isn't for everyone so they should really get to work on these things!!
I’m rewatching this video again lmfao, and I’ve played 900 hours of sims 4. How many sims have accidentally died? 2. Fucking 2. Both from embarrassment. 🙄
I agree! Weirdly, some of the fondest memories I have of playing early sim games is a special sim falling victim to tragedy and trying to navigate the problems that arose from it. More realistic of life.
They should do a "disaster" pack or something, bringing back the burglar! And adding things like earthquakes etc omg it would be so fun (sorry for bad english)
Actually, there was a poll on The Sims forums. Creators gave few ideas for new packs and community was choosing the one they wanted to most. They were: ecology, arcade, started home, wedding and DANGEROUS STUFF. So EA obviously thinks about that!
I looked at the Sim Community on Sims 4 recently and did a search for LGR. There's a download called LGR Vintage Family or something similar and it has Duke, the LGR guy and several others. Might be worth checking out.
Well we do know for sure they won't be in a stuff pack. a SimGuru on Twitter, SimGuruGraham tweeted out that they are a feature that would be too big for a stuff pack.
6:25 - "It's up to caregivers to provide feedback and moral support to help young sims grow in such a way that best fits societal norms" Shows a clip of a toddler being cared for by Duke Nukem wearing a roman legion outfit, XD

I wish there was a “we have food at home” option you could select when the family is out on another lot and the kid’s hunger level is so low they’re about to die
LGR's insightful approach to this pack: Parenthood is a fun and more realistic approach from previous game packs that involves you in the upbringing of your sim's life and shapes it on the interactions that you have with them. Two new feature buttons on command let you fart and burp. My insightful take away from this review: You can shart now in the game.
Holy crap. This is the first add-on for TS4 that actually interests me. I also really like anything that adds realism to these games, which is why I don't really like the game as a whole very much, because it relies a lot on cartoon-esque humor. But as soon as you said something about acne, I had this flashback of TS2 and all the little details I loved about that game. I always just thought that everything made for this game was just rushed effort, but this is some serious potential.
227 views?! YA! You have *NO IDEA* how much I've been looking forward to this review! The second I saw the trailer, I was like "I can't wait for LGR to review this!"
Jessica Petersen generations and shit is something that should already be included in the game, u shouldn’t have to pay 20 bucks to discipline ur kids in the game 💀
@@beanstalkyaass Exactly- they should all, in my opinion, be free updates to the base game; a life simulation game where you need to pay (£40!!!) for weather or (£20) to be a parent?? Seriously? Who decided that this was normal? Even if not a free update, maybe something like £10 at most for expansions, not £40.
I'm so excited for this pack! I like that they keep it light-hearted. I grew up in a messy, abusive home, and it left me pretty messed up. It's nice that I won't be able to cause similar damage to the Sim kids. Now all I need is Pets and Seasons; I want snow in the game!
Bauhauskiddo ayy I feel you. When people ask for a more dark, "mature" and brutally realistic Sims game I hope they know what they're talking about and asking for.
Bauhauskiddo Same for me too it's very damaging & I really like the light heart focus of the sims. Yes I hope they add seasons to the game loved that in sims 3. Excited for this pack.
Bauhauskiddo I'm having a lot of troubles and abuses too in my family and one of the reasons I love the Sims 4 is because no matter what you do your Sims can have a nice life and a good family and If they get mad or crazy or sad your sim can get help from Friends or brothers, thats awesome and nice
I for some reason always rely on your reviews before buying any expansion. You're the best LGR, you always make me laugh and you give great insight in your reviews.

I'm really wondering when The Sims will actually upgrade from silly misfortunes to rated M misfortunes where some particular Sims aren't allowed to get good jobs without degrees, or the possibility of being murdered so there's actual tension in the game.
are we the psychopaths? who doesn't enjoy watching a sim burn to a crisp? extra points if it's a default family or you just didn't like the way they turned out.
aaannnd then realize that the only consequence is getting the evil trait which means pretty much absolutely nothing since the game is shallow and completely devoid of consequence or meaningful reactions to player decisions.
Papa EA would never allow M rated content in the game. I'm hoping to one day see one brave indie developer gallop over the horizon and create an amazing sims-esque game to challenge this franchise.
If this pack actually went the extra mile to have real negative consequences like being ineligible for jobs or difficulty performing basic tasks, I might have been interested in it. I don't see how that kind of stuff would be M-Rated.
I know this is an old review, but I have to say I actually appreciate the rabbit hole volunteering and other "go away for awhile" events, clubs, etc and I wish they would just add more of them. Once your household is on the second and third kid, sometimes you just need time with less people to manage and so sending a sim or 3 to go off and do something where you don't have to manage them is really useful. Most people aren't going to do the parenthood pack in a bubble, they are going to be doing parenthood alongside a Sim who's working, trying to keep up a romantic relationship with their partner, etc. etc.....you know life. And sometimes you are really grateful your teen can take their little brother out volunteering for a couple hours so you can just focus on potty training your toddler before you do those reports for work, lol.
You are the only Sims reviewer/player that I haven't unsubscribed from over the years. Your reviews are short and to the point, and always funny. And as a bonus, you have the best review voice ever. And when you post let's plays they actually keep me interested.
I get in quite a rage listening to many other reviewers go on and on about how the Sims franchise can do no wrong when putting out packs/expansions. I can not tell you how much I appreciate your reviews and so very glad I stumbled on them, had nearly given up looking for someone that had a mind of their own. I get 5-15 minutes of lol's with your humor which is better then most tv shows these days and someone who feels the way I do about realism and practicality in sims.THANK YOU.
I'm still playing the first three Sims games (haven't had any interest at all in ts4). The series has been getting progressively sillier and more game-y (ts3 was guilty of it too). I want a life simulation game that's mature, has consequences if you screw up, and isn't full of mini games and menus.
I will say the only thing the Sims 4 has over 3 is a superior social system and multitasking - it makes the game 100% more lifelike cause people are always talking and laughing while doing several things. Everything else is kind of... bleh. And there's no open world, so I'm sticking to The Sims 3. But TS4 does have a few good aspects surrounded by dozens/hundreds of bad aspects.
A little bit of whackiness is acceptable. You just can't go overboard. Having a witch or a zombie or an alien is fine. Even a Cow Plant you can feed your neighbour to is fine. As long as you balance it out.
SonicChaos15 All you need is a good processor and the proper tools to clean up the game and help it run smoother, like cleaning out the cache files and nraas mods. Also, how well a game runs on bad hardware isn't indicative of the quality of the product: TS3 is still good, even if it needs a good computer.
JayandNoPlay I mean, it kind of is. If the very way that you interface and interact with any given product is as broken and unoptimized as it is in Sims 3, even if you brute force it with hardware that is so beyond the requirements it's ridiculous (I've done this and it still doesn't fix it in the slightest, SSD, GTX 1060 etc. and only three expansions), then doesn't that have a genuine effect on the quality of the game? Because you can only really interpret a game or anything really in your eyes and how it's presented to you and performance is of course half of that presentation since that's the very thing that translates and connects the art that's been made to you, the player. Trust me, I love Sims 3 and it's easily one of my favorite games of all time but it is inevitably quite broken no matter what one does. Hell even if you could fix it (which if I've missed some crucial mod or something that helps here please link it to me) it still shouldn't be necessary especially if you take a look at the original system requirements and I believe it does genuinely matter in how one judges the overall game. It's one of those things that Sims 4 does get right, but it does so at the cost of all that Sims 3 innovated in such as the open world and sheer amount of content. That makes Sims 4 a compromise, not optimized. And the few things that are genuinely optimized and improved in Sims 4 are to be expected, not complimented. Plus, the biggest flaw of Sims 4 for me is that it just lacks that heart and humanity of the past Sims titles (especially 3) though maybe I just didnt play 4 enough to get a feel for it. And that heart is what makes the huge technical flaws in 3 much more acceptable and tolerable, but the flaws do still exist inevitably.
This convinced me to purchase the parenthood pack; I've always found the children to parents interactions very stale in the base game. There are about 20 interactions you can do in each lifestate, and it's always felt limiting. I usually don't play with children because of this, and have difficulty moving past the first or second generation. So, hopefully, this pack is exactly what I need to revitalize my gameplay.
Sims 4: Take a Seat Game Pack $20 Cas contents: A chair for a hat, a chair shirt, chair glasses, ect. Build mode contents: 57 new chairs, one bed with a picture of a chair, shrubbery shaped like chairs Game changing aspect: Your sims can be chair sims, sims with the ability to turn into chairs (you can choose what chair by editing their chair form) and summon chairs (it will be the same chair your sim turns into)
Children sims are literally the best because they’re like so nice for no reason (and less annoying to take care of because they’re competent enough to eat)
I am so proud and pleased that EA continues to send new packs for your honest review. Shows good faith and they actually care about what the community has to say. I find myself playing like you do and I enjoy the new aspects of family life. It really helps to become emotionally invested in the characters. Thank you as always for giving good review and I can't wait to see what you have to say about pets! Stay sexy, boo! 😘😘😘
Now that I've watched the full video. This pack does seem awesome with me being someone who loved toddlers being in the game now. So now all I need is Seasons and Pets and I'll be a happy simmer!
I lucked out with CD Keys. Picked up the Parenthood bundle for 23, then Paypal gave me a $5 credit so I only spent $18 for Parenthood, vintage stuff, and bowling night. Winning.
It works around the idea of the blank canvas theory... I like the idealistic idea that everyone has the same changes to grow up functional and prosperous
Good review, but a bit disappointed that customization items, objects, and of course CHAIRS were brushed over so trivially. Those are important! Especially the CHAIRS!!
I remember seeing the endless piles of The Sims expansion packs on shelves when I worked retail, never thought I'd *ever* actually enjoy watching reviews of every single one of them, but LGR does it :D
Started watching this series last night and decided to subscribe, 9 hours later there is a new one released and I see it in my subscriptions tab. Thank you for the pleasantly comprehensive reviews, and for helping me develop abs from all the laughing I did.
on point with the bunk beds--because it just makes more sense, yes? love your reviews, too!! Very informative and witty 😂 sarcastically persuasive at most!
Travos K, I have to disagree, I liked all of the other game packs and expansion packs before this one. Sure I had at least a few things I didn't like about each one, but overall I thought they were pretty good.
You are so knowledgable as how you talk in your reviews. It's not just the game talk, but the comparisons you make to real life and how you make them. No matter if you're talking about Sims, Elder Scrolls or old school games you really know your stuff. I even found myself watching your reviews on games that I don't even play, yet I still enjoy your reviews. That's saying something.
I have been watching your sims reviews since the early days of sims 3 and thought it was about time to say thank you-) your humour, style and the way you deliver the information means it's the only review I ever need to watch.
Am I the only one to notice that since Ms Franklin was replaced, the Sims has started to be a lot more 'SIMSY', emphasising the things that Simmers have always liked ahead of parties, selfies etc!
This channel is very informative for me in my Sims 4 journey. I have saved so much money from not buying packs Im unsure of and coming here to confirm that I don't want them. Alternatively, this channel sometimes reinforces my desire to buy a pack while offering a few chuckles. Good work LGR, I appreciate it. :)
this pack is really fun to play but what sucks is you don't really need to. if you ignore the whole pack all that happens is toddlers and kids make messes and teens get random moodlets, there's no consequences for not raising them and it doesn't have much of an effect when they become adults. i just wish it had a lil more unpredictability and noticeable impacts on behavior
I honestly just wish ea would add something that allows you to export your packs from different devices because I don’t play on pc anymore, I play on Xbox and I had so many packs on pc.
I am so grateful for LGR's Sims reviews. He's so honest and concise, and really gives you all the information you need before you buy. What's even better is that he doesn't make a drawn out 20 minute video like the rest of the Sim community does!
more concern for the player. in the sims 3 all we need was teach speak, walk and pee then level 5 in school to pick a new trait of a lot of them. but the sims 4 never desapoints the key word is limite of everything xD very happy keep playing the sims 3. waitting for better on the sims 5
I went to Ottawa comic con and I guy was selling knives and he sounded like you and looked identical so I freaked out and said "LGR!!!" And he was like "who?" XD
Ummmm have you played The Sims 3 Expansion/Stuff Packs when they just got out? Basically, each expansion pack was $40 and stuff packs were $20 ($20-$25 if you get the new towns).
Kate Marsh yeah but I got most of the store content for ts3 for free yet ts4 just for the base game is expensive like 30$ is fine for standard then 40$ for deluxe two years after the release and also in store like target and walmart they have a sims4 base game stuff pack game pack bundle and I'm like really since everytime ts4 goes on sale I don't even have money for it like with ts3 eps I just go on g2a or another site
I can't believe we're 3 years into the sims 4 but yet there's nothing related with fame, I loved living my sim's through their road to fame in the sims 3
I'm glad you're doing these reviews. Makes me think more about the pros and cons of it and whether or not it'd actually worth buying. Thanks for an awesome channel, dude!
I think it's good that people who have been parented in the sims are still relatively normal, I think it shows that your childhood doesn't have to define you and no matter how bad your parents are you can still be an individual. (Obviously this isn't to discredit trauma/lifelong mental health effects bad parenting can cause, don't take this the wrong way haha)
But... does it feature the all-important dad response of "go ask your mother"?
Alan Rizkallah Omg xD
i sure hope so. also the equally important option of 'tell a dad joke'.
Roman Joye Yes
Or the equally important response from your mother, "go ask your father"
My parents are the type where if you ask dad, he’ll tell you to go ask mom, but if you ask mom, she’ll tell you to go ask dad.
In those situations, you do whatever you want.
Glad to hear that there are new chairs. Truly the only reason to buy DLC for any game. Still waiting for there to be The Sims 5: Everything's a Chair.
The Elder Sims 5: Chairwind
the -sims- chairs 5
The Sims 4: Take A Seat Game Pack
The Sims 4 - Have Several Seats Stuff Pack
Plot Twist: It turns out to be shrubbery shaped like chairs.
I saw that "Force to pee" action on that teenager... wait, what?
someone at EA has a fetish, apparently
You have never had your parents force you to go to the bathroom before a trip?
*me scrolling though the comments* Well this one is amusing. Better reply something funny.... Or not.
Potty training at 15?
You're telling them "go pee." My mom used to make us all use the restroom before we went on a road trip. Its that sort of thing
This is the only review channel that I never will ever get bored of
I don't even have Sims 4 and I'm still watching this cause its interesting 😂
Aurielle Heheh same, I really wished LGR would do a livestream playing Sims 4.
LGR could exclusively review toasters and chairs and I'd still find it entertaining.
Darn tooting!
I feel the same. He always helps me decide if I like the new game.
" I have grown from childhood to adulthood under the watchful eye of parents" nice try, Synth, but you can't fool us with that kind of language

Don't blow his cover! We like LGR. If the Institute finds out his identity, the Railroad will have to wipe his memories and implant new ones!

So, hopefully, this pack is exactly what I need to revitalize my gameplay.
yeah i havent had a family with kids since 2016 because theyre just so boring. hopefully ill be able to buy it now because its on sale
I feel like one of EA's highest goals is to get a good review from LGR 😂
Sims 4: Take a Seat Game Pack
$20
Cas contents:
A chair for a hat, a chair shirt, chair glasses, ect.
Build mode contents:
57 new chairs, one bed with a picture of a chair, shrubbery shaped like chairs
Game changing aspect:
Your sims can be chair sims, sims with the ability to turn into chairs (you can choose what chair by editing their chair form) and summon chairs (it will be the same chair your sim turns into)
We need that, but maybe in a mod
yeah duke as dad rock ass
Children sims are literally the best because they’re like so nice for no reason (and less annoying to take care of because they’re competent enough to eat)

"Trick into Believing the World is Flat"
BRILLIANT, EA!
AWESOME IDEA!
maybe, i will buy yours games again!
I’ve watch all these review videos about 5 times but I love just playing his voice in the background! The sarcasm and comedy feels brotherly lol
Ikr!!!
"Nukem Nukem, son of Duke Nukem".
It's like a metalore of LGR.
Just woke up and had to decide between this LGR video and RCR video. I think its obvious who won.
Winning.
Anthony Pero lol that is lucky!
2:10 I died when u made that reference lol
Are you ok now?
rip in peace
rest in peace
My heart skipped a beat when he made that reference. They're one of my favourite bands!
TheEtherny Hahahaha
Started watching this series last night and decided to subscribe, 9 hours later there is a new one released and I see it in my subscriptions tab. Thank you for the pleasantly comprehensive reviews, and for helping me develop abs from all the laughing I did.
on point with the bunk beds--because it just makes more sense, yes?
love your reviews, too!!
Very informative and witty 😂 sarcastically persuasive at most!
I have to say that something I love about your reviews is that you make it explicitly clear what you're looking for.
Finally a sort of good game pack
Travos K,
I have to disagree, I liked all of the other game packs and expansion packs before this one. Sure I had at least a few things I didn't like about each one, but overall I thought they were pretty good.
Travos k *gamepack and almost all of them were good
i will watch and rewatch these forever
Someone at Maxis saw this and at the end said "We forgot Bunkbeds!" lol
You are so knowledgable as how you talk in your reviews. It's not just the game talk, but the comparisons you make to real life and how you make them. No matter if you're talking about Sims, Elder Scrolls or old school games you really know your stuff. I even found myself watching your reviews on games that I don't even play, yet I still enjoy your reviews.
That's saying something.
I have been watching your sims reviews since the early days of sims 3 and thought it was about time to say thank you-) your humour, style and the way you deliver the information means it's the only review I ever need to watch.
This is the first sims 4 pack/expansion that I see that actually makes me feel like buying the game. This looks really cool!
I had this pack since it came out and I never even realized how fun it came be.
Your the only one who actually shows every thing or most of it but you have a persuasive voice that makes me want the pack 😍😁😊
And three years later, they've finally added bunk beds !
This is one channel I know, I can watch to help me decide whether to blow money on a Sims 4 expansion or gamepack.
Is that a baby Duke nukem ?!
Your honesty makes me loveee your Sims Reviews. Amazing.
more concern for the player. in the sims 3 all we need was teach speak, walk and pee then level 5 in school to pick a new trait of a lot of them. but the sims 4 never desapoints the key word is limite of everything xD very happy keep playing the sims 3. waitting for better on the sims 5
Every time a new sims game comes out, I always look forward to your reviews :D
How cool would a homeschool or private school option be here?! Here's to betting on TS4: University.
3:46 I'm so glad you said "journals".
Excellent I have been waiting!
I think you're becoming my fav youtuber
I went to Ottawa comic con and I guy was selling knives and he sounded like you and looked identical so I freaked out and said "LGR!!!" And he was like "who?"
XD
your my go-to channel for watching reviews since i started playing the sims franchise about 4 years ago
the sims series is too expensive for little product
GoatSuit Gaming what 19.99 I bought vampires and I might buy this pack or outdoor retreat
Ummmm have you played The Sims 3 Expansion/Stuff Packs when they just got out? Basically, each expansion pack was $40 and stuff packs were $20 ($20-$25 if you get the new towns).
Kate Marsh yeah but in ts3 u get custom worlds or make your own worlds u can't do that in ts4 yet.
GoatSuit Gaming The sims 4 game where I live is $59.99. If it didn't go on sale I would've never gotten it, that's a ridiculous price for a sims game
I've been saying the same thing about the bunk beds since I saw the trailer.
5:07
"Force to pee" excuse me what
Whenever I need to learn more about sims packs, I come here. The content is great and I love being able to know if the pack is worth buying.
Still waiting on the
"Sitting Around Stuff Pack" with over 49 new and returning chairs.
Us chair enthusiasts are oppressed.
I can't believe we're 3 years into the sims 4 but yet there's nothing related with fame, I loved living my sim's through their road to fame in the sims 3
But how many chairs does the pack come with? I must know the true value proposition of this product.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot LMAOOOO
Seriously, this is the only channel I go to and trust for my Sims reviews!
This sounds great! I should give 4 a revisit
I'm glad you're doing these reviews. Makes me think more about the pros and cons of it and whether or not it'd actually worth buying. Thanks for an awesome channel, dude!
they actually made a meaningful, gameplay enhancing expansion instead of adding more trivial shit I'll forget about? GENIUS!
your sims reviews are always so amazing! always watch before buying! thanks again dude!
'Flatulence isn't the only reason I like this pack..... Probably' HAHAHAHA... 'The Sims 4 Flatulence Stuff' 💩 hehe sharts, giggle..
You give the best straight to the point and informative reviews on these packs thank you!
I SWEAR I Love Your Videos! They Always Make It Easy For Me To Choose Which Sims Expansion Pack I Want
Please do a Let's Play using the parenthood pack! Please please please!!!!!!
