Here's some ideas for the next stuff pack: Doing Your Taxes Watching Paint Dry Waiting in Line at the DMV (for cars that don't exist in-game) And one I think would be highly-anticipated: MORE CHAIRS.
Put me down for Sims 4 DMV and Registration Stuff There's nothing I'd rather do then send my Sims to the DMV for the day 😐😩😅. This pack would be *filled* with chairs as you spend hours sitting for your number to be called.... ONLY to be told something is missing and they need to come back 😆😂🤣 and let's not forget running your own DMV. Hire the rudest Sims to run efficiently LMFAO
You better keep your mouth shut, you're giving EA ideas. Soon you'll have to pay extra if you want your sim to have a house, you'll have to pay extra real money for fake rent, and real money for sim health insurance.
I can't wait wait for The Sims 4 Junk Drawer Stuff. My Sims home needs more rubber bands, keys that don't go to anything, sheets of paper from a 2008 word a day calendar, and a box of paper clips that is only missing one clip because I bought it when I only needed one paper clip.
Lina I mean, at least there's a possibility that the dryer will catch fire. That's kinda dangerous, right??? ....ah screw it. Not even I can be an optimist about this. ....although now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not really an optimist. Oh well.
I remember voting for this stuff. The "Marriage Stuff" pack was presented as focusing on both life and death, so offering both wedding and funeral objects/interactions. I voted for that since funerals in the sims would be a whole new concept! But the community voted for Eco-Living. I was disappointed but kept an eye on the votes since there was still some interesting potential. And then what happened? EA whittled this interesting concept down to just `Laundry Day` >> I don`t know why I bother anymore.
It wasn’t EA, though. This time they just developed the game, but the community decided everything else. Although I’m starting to think their plan was to make us feel like we were voting but they knew it was gonna be Laundry all along
But If they get the eco living idea to laundry day. Imagine what they would do to the marriage stuff? like new stuff aka more clothing, and the funeral can be a event?
Doka Habbo You mean the washer and dryer that came with a pack that provided professions and cool new jobs? Ambitions wasn't a Laundry pack. The washer and dryer came with a pack that would've been fine without it. Laundry Day Stuff is solely laundry.
Have you seen some of the theoretical decor and furniture that they were planning for Arcade Stuff if it won? It all looked fantastic! I am so disappointed in the current Sims playerbase.
I know the majority of the Sims fanbase is the "casual gamer" stereotype but this is honestly the most boring addition I've seen to any game. Also eating Tide Pod mod when?
It's boring, yet it fits the life simulation aspect. Maybe they could have made it more surreal, perhaps ghosts could possess the machines and suck Sims into them and they drown, or get saved by somebody. Maybe a magic spell could do that, or one that keeps spitting out the clothes and getting water all over the place. Maybe they could break down like mine did and become obnoxiously loud so that the house on the other side of the street can hear it. Maybe pets can play in the machines and potentially die. Kids could use the hangars as hanging ropes to climb. I dunno....scraping for ideas...it's laundry after all.
i did vote for ecofriendly actually. But I was expecting things like solar panels to generate your own energy,f ilter your own water, wash yourself in a tub, those kind of stuff. Kinda live a little more primitive but with some new techniques. And yes doing the laundry might be a part of that, but that's just it.... a tiny tiny part of it :(
I have been expecting a "primitive life" expansion pack. Where you could maybe have some animals to pick fur from and make clothes, make your own meat (planting it like in the sims 3 would be fine, and it would be really cool if the cows produced seeds for it to make more sense while not being violent), live without electricity, survive the winter and summer without a thermostat... it could be a mix of pets ( but without the pets u know what I mean? more like farm animals) and seasons pack called "living in nature" or "in the wild" Bathing in the lake,or storing and heating water inside... stuff like that! It would be so cool!
*EA says they're letting fans vote on a new stuff pack* Me: Oh, cool! Now us simmers can finally let EA know what we want! *Eco-Living Stuff wins* Me: Oh...well, that was my least favorite of the options, but who knows? It might be pretty good. *Laundry Stuff is released* Me: ..................that's it. I'm out. If anyone needs me, I'll be playing The Sims 3 - where laundry was a minor portion of an EXPANSION PACK and didn't cost $10 to play on its own.
Right? I have a love/hate relationship with The Sim Supply. He's entertaining and I like what he does with the sims 4 but he suuuucks EA's dick eventho it's a shit installment of what is an amazing franchise.
the fact that there’s only one kind of standard washer/dryer pair is so weird. i’ve had non functional washer/dryer cc in my game for well over a year and there’s like 4-5 different types in a fuck ton of colors.i always feel like sims stuff packs start out with a cool idea like “eco living” and then get watered down to “only laundry”
I missed the voting, so I honestly thought it was a joke when they made the pack announcement on The Sims subreddit. Please give us a competitor series. PLEASE.
I spent so much time looking for some The Sims-like game and there's literally nothing else like that. There are some games with some kind of "life simulation" element, but usually it's just a minor part. With all the bad EA stuff going on in these months, I just hope that they'll stick to that FIFA cashcow, since that money it's all they care about, and sell all their other brands to some other publisher once they realize that they won't be able to make a penny out of the other brands. Maybe that is the only way to get the TS we deserve and want. These kind of games are huge and expensive to make, thus nobody is willing to risk to compete when some widely-known game like The Sims is still around. TS is totally ruling life simulators despite its current state and yet nobody is willing to compete: these kind of things makes you wonder about the expensiveness of such a game. Only big and rich guys like EA could handle something like that, and they know it. The lack of a competitor makes things just worse: they'll keep producing lame DLCs for awful prizes and we'll keep buying those just because there is nothing else like The Sims. So yeah, that's why we need a competitor ASAP.
@@TheMosquitoHunter Its not that big and expensive. It's economics. EA literally made $1,019,000,000 last year. That is after expenses. They had a bit of a rough year too, profit margin was only ~20% in 2019.
I wanted the Dangerous stuff pack, because not only does the Sims 4 need more danger in it, but it also provides an opportunity to have more "edgy" clothing for male and female sims.
Dudeman162 I'm not sure but try searching "Sims4 extreme violence" on youtube someone made a review on it and I think that download was in description of the video
Mary J. Metayer you can look online I have it. It’s a serial killer mod add on so just type in serial killer sims 4 mod and you will see it. Your toddlers can kill people as well as clean up after the crime because blood gets everywhere lol you can even ask people to be your partner in crime and you can boy run around killing people. You can also buy a mirror and chanting a murdered brides name will cause her to appear and kill everyone on the lot. She can only be stopped if you kill her with the serial killer mod or she will kill everyone in your town with a chain saw haha. They also have a drug dealer mod and you can get high become a dealer and get addicted to where you will have sex for drugs. Whicked whims mod also allows you to have explicit sex acts and you get your period in that one and can have abortions smh it’s cray what the mod community has out
Anthony Siringo that's EA for you. They choose the profitable option. They don't care about making good games. Just money. How many stuff packs are there? 13 right? That's 130$ That is insane. And most of the stuff they add should have been included in the base game, or part of an expansion pack.
QueenThoria that's why I'm only planning to buy 3 of the stuff packs (this, bowling stuff, movie night stuff.) I'm waiting until they're on sale tho, so it'll only be like $15.
It'sAngel there's a couple packs on sale now. I got pets, parenting and toddler stuff. Idk why tho, I hate myself. The packs barley add anything to the game. With sims 3 you'd get ton of new hairstyles and clothes
QueenThoria ya, imma get an expansion pack today. Is cats and dogs worth it, or should I stick to getting get to work? I like playing with families, but idk if it's worth the money anymore??
They could've made this pack so much better. Like, what if they made it a tailor pack? Where you can design and sell clothing, or take jobs to design and make clothes to the needs of random sims. Then you could have the sewing skill, sewing machines, a new job in being a tailor... Or even go all the way into making a laundromat business that you can own and run. Or even an interactive maid job- sure, you'd just be doing chores, but at least you'd be getting paid while doing laundry. So many possibilities! The problem isn't that they're making too many stuff packs, it's that they aren't making packs that can really shape the experience.
I love your ideas!! Please work for EA! xD Seriously, though, I completely agree with your last sentence. And that's why I won't be buying this pack - it's nice the first two minutes but gets boring fast...
NotRealName NotAtAll Yeah! Also if after sets of clothing washes you could unlock special clothing in CAS for your sims and also have a launderettes career
Well yes and no. There was a bit of an uproar when the stuff pack was announced as a number of people who voted eco-friendly wanted some of the other stuff, with the content of this pack being more of an added bonus. Then there's the theory that this is what the developers (or at least Graham) wanted and when eco-friendly won, instead of making a proper pack, they just focused in on the laundry stuff. Though the rest of the stuff in the category may end up as additional stuff packs later down the road. Personally had I bothered to vote, I'd have gone with arcade as there would have been a good chance for a new lot type and it would give kids and teens an actual hangout location, which even I'll admit they lack, most places are meant for adults.
I Can only sat that I did not vote for this pack and now reading all these comments from people not wanting it .. Where were you when we voted??? There was a big group of people that for a long time had asked for laundry. I knew that we had to be really a lot of people voting against it. But if you put together the ones wanting off the Grid and The ones voting for canning and winemaking .. we would have had the majority of the votes.
What do you expect, many user on the sim community are sociopathic and don't have life beside sims 4, so they want build real life in their game, £a are milking from them, they don't even give a shit about this game anymore, many bugs, this pack has lazy animation, items which you can't interact, this game is dead, now is just a money grabbing.
I'm guessing the majority of players now, kids, never played laundry in TS3 and realise how god damn boring it was. Also, kids that just want to play "dream life" and arent interested in the sims in the ts1 spirit of scary spooky phone calls or the creepiest reaper ever. I really wish Will Wright would come back and bring the adult spirit back to life in a new sims game
This upsets me so bad because instead of voting for something new, the majority voted for something they've already had in past sims just because it was in past sims. Laundry is one of the most boring things you can do in both the sims and real life. I voted for off the grid, but nope, everyone else wanted Laundry because they wanted a rehash of past sims. The community is part of the problem on why the game is the way it is.
Garbage Day Stuff ie. The Sims 4 Mega Deluxe Edition* only $999.99 available exclusively on Origin! Pre-order now and you'll receive a golden chair that makes a "cha-ching" noise every time a sim sits on it! *walls not included
Besides when my boyfriend bought me the Sims 4 for my birthday in 2015, i never bought anything for it except the Hot tub pack which was half off at the time. And after that I saw more bullshit packs being advertised and I was really hurt... Because i was witnessing the end of an Era, the end of a franchise. EA sucked the soul right out of Maxis and the Sims. Everything I have on The Sims 4 is from Custom Content and Mods created by really talented people, and I contribute as much as I can to these creators even though it is free to download, because they are the only reason why Sims 4 is even playable at the least for me. Donate some spare cash to modders of you can. Dont give EA a dime extra anymore. I understand for Pets and possibly for Seasons in the future, but these "packs" are garbage and not worth the $$$. I still play Sims 3 mostly. (Lifelong Simmer here since 2000) actually like 1998 from playing SimCity.
Sadly, I could barely even play the Sims 3 with how much Island Paradise had broken it on my old PC. I love that pack as it was my introduction to the Sims 3 (and the sims in general), and I want so badly to keep it, but if I reinstall i'll probably just break the game on my new PC all over again.
I'm both excited and worried for a Seasons with how they keep crapping out half-baked stuff packs and expansion packs. My guess for seasons is they'll release a rain/thunderstorm SP(maybe a patch if they're generous). Then they'll divide up the seasons from there and release them in accordance to the seasons in real life. They might actually be crazy enough to do it.
I didn't know this pack was a community vote until everything was confirmed, but looking at all the voting options at each stage, I'm kind of shocked at how limited the final pack became. It's like they were trying to jstify making the smallest stuff pack they could by saying it's was the community wanted. I don't really see how Laundry Stuff reflects the original Eco Living Stuff that was proposed. I mean, most people I know don't have dryers here, so the clothesline isn't explicitly eco friendly, so the only item I can see actually fitting with that theme is the washtub. Off The Grid Stuff sounded much more appropriate to eco living, you could have had solar panels or wind turbines, things that might increase a property's value but reduce household bills. Or you could have had the option to raise your own chickens or buy organic foods. And laundry could still have been a part of that theme, as the type of laundry you do could hae related to the amount of water used up. That would be much more interesting that just laundry on its own. Also, try to remember that laundry in the Sims 3 was just one tiny aspect of the Ambitions expansion and was part of an eco-friendly theme that came with its own personality traits, which just makes this pack seem even more ridiculous.
We voted for this? Stellar video as always. I've been checking daily to see when this video would pop up. Glad you still make them even though Sims 4 is problematic.
Agreed, I pretty much subbed purely for the Sims 4 reviews, haha. I also sometimes watch his nostalgic reviews, but as I've played pretty much 80% of all old computer games my interest there is fairly low.
It's an odd vote, but it is something I do like in these sorts of games....it just, should have always been there. I wanna see new things too, however closely or loosely connected to reality they may be.
My husband and I watch everything but his computer builds. His scripting is always really, really interesting so even though I might not know exactly what he's talking about, it grabs my interest. :) Although, I've been a subscriber for a long time. It also makes us laugh when Clint gets really excited about wood paneling, haha.
Amaranthus616, I agree. It's nice for immersion playing and that it should have been given to us sooner as a patch rather than making us buy it. They've given us an incomplete game from the get go and have auctioned off key content piecemeal. A company is a company, even those that make games and you can definitely tell that this format of doing things smacks of corporate suits dictating how things are going. :/
That voting went south so quickly, but I blame the Sim creators. I mean, if you KNOW that a sizable chunk of the simmers will go for something so freaking mundane as laundry, DON'T PUT IT IN THE VOTING LIST!!!
What the hell kind of sense does that make? They shouldn't have put an option that they think a lot of people would choose? That's complete nonsense. Look the pack itself is worthy of some criticism as well as maybe how the actual voting system took place, but to criticize an option that one the vote is childish.
I don't think you're alone. I would rather have arcade stuff or wedding stuff. Heck, I would've taken dangerous stuff. Not sure why people would want to do laundry in the Sims game. Maybe they like to have realism in the game. But personally, I'd rather be emersed in fantasy.
Oh this review!!! It's such a STRECH. Why did people vote for this? We can't even blame EA for it. How can people spend 10$ over this? Ugh, it boggles my mind.
The thing is because LGR doesn't mince his words. The PR dept probably thought that he'll give all 100% rosy reviews but nope. This is why most people head to this channel every time a pack is released.
Doctor Evilface they only announced the votes via Twitter. It wasnt even advertised on origin or Facebook and they didn't make a video about it. I think the only people who voted were major Sims UA-camrs and their followers and basically all of them wanted laundry day so they could add a new room to their speed build houses
And also Sims UA-camrs all play as a single woman who finds a husband and then has 5 kids. They like the domestic lifestyle a lot when I think a lot of people in general that play Sims like more lifestyle choices which we do not have at all.
I know thats why I wanted off the grid so bad! They said stuff like you could have solar panels, a well, or windmill and live off the grid and not pay as much rent. I really wanted to make a household that lived in the desert with a tin foil hat sim
Right?! Better indoor planter options. Off the grid housing options. Rooftop farming with basic poultry. Maybe new lots in the middle of the forest for your high-tech smart home. Ugh.
I knew I wasn't crazy 😂 I was creeping past the pissed comments like "Zamn, didn't I vote for this? I'm to blame" lol And then I read yours and I'm like, "It sure was eco modern stuff not washing machines" 😐😂
Pff didn't even want eco crap to start with. Was more interested in the Arcade stuff or Dangerous stuff. Wedding and Starter Home stuff sounds like stuff that should be in the base release game.
As someone who genuinely loved the laundry in the Sims 3 (no idea why, something about it was so genuinely appealing to me as was the entire ambitions pack and map) this didn't need to be it's own pack. I would have loved it as an addition to an expansion pack, but I won't spend 10 dollars for this.
I don't really play the sims so i can't speak for the community, but why the fuck did you guys pass on Arcade and dangerous stuff packs? Shit, that may have got even me to buy the game
Tony Bananers i voted for eco stuff so I could actually have an eco friendly pack. Off the grid was a game changer. But these idiots voted for laundry.
I was also someone who voted Eco Stuff because I wanted Off the Grid and the idea of getting to do more things with maybe a sim that was homeless or someone who was back to nature or did canning for their own foods and all of that.... buuut..... here we are. Laundry
ABrokeCollegeStudent the description stated that it could focus on laundry and everyone (not me i voted for danger) has wanted laundry since the base game
I have no idea where the voting took place but is it just me who looks at this and thinks that this could have been done by a modder? It's nothing special, the animations dont seem special, this looks like something I could find at modthesims! For free!
It could have also just been a base game feature.....so many mundane things we do, our lives that the Sims say they imitate, yet they hardly ever do....laundry was missing. I like the blend of crazy and familiar real life aspects the Sims offers, I just think a lot of it should have been base game stuff.
I wanted starter home stuff! I like making my sims super poor and I have to download CC to put anything in their houses that's cheap and fits that aesthetic
Removing lint from the dryer. Removing lint from the dryer after you wash your sim's clothes, all while you stand there amongst the assortment of non-interactive furniture. You know, this is why I never play anything other than Sims 1.
Tag yourself as a Sims 4 stuff pack I'm movie stuff pack because it was full of potential but then turned out very underwhelming and with an identity crisis.
Yossi Jackson they said it was out of budget and that they had other more important things to work in like the laundry system itself, but they did tried
Yossi Jackson they still have a budget, those millions they make have different purposes. Granted, they should do better stuff than they already do, but don’t think they have millions of dollars just for stuff packs because that just makes no sense.
Yossi Jackson Now that you put it that way, I completely agree. There are definitely ways to get the money to make better quality content, and EA should definitely get their act together and give a better budget to the sims, since it’s one of their best selling titles. Trying is not enough and it’s not an excuse for creating poor content. But I don’t feel this stuff pack deserves such hate, since for me it was very well done and perhaps even better than all the other stuff packs, even Kids Room stuff. I get why many people don’t like it, but people should also try to understand the fact that it won the votes because many other people wanted it, and again, it is very well done to the point where it is entertaining, there is still room for improvement and I hope this year we don’t get another fitness stuff or Toddler stuff because those were truly awful and useless.
I really want a “country home stuff” pack or a country pack that offers horses. I want to be able to build a barn, raise some chickens and live in the country.
That would be a dream come true and would actually make me play the game again. I think the developers sometimes forget how popular the pets packs are, the animal aspect was hugely downplayed in the sims 4. Horses would be so much fun. Combined with new careers and achievements.
I would lose my mind if they did a farm life pack and there were chickens, horses, cows, pigs and goats. My dream is to also live in the country with a bunch of animals and live off the land. Could not agree with you more.
That would fit so nicely in an 'off the grid' expansion pack, along with the traditional clothes washing and drying seen above, and so so much more. It's funny that EA just don't get the picture -_-
Y'know, I'm surprised that someone hadn't modded any laundry items up until now? Maybe then there would have been more incentive for people to vote for something NEW for this dry toast series..
@LovelessYayaoi Actually I think there was a functionning laundry mod. But apparently it stopped working when the pack came out and isn't downloadable anymore. @I Hate Dust Did you mean Grilled Cheese? I totally would buy a grilled cheese-themed SP. I want a grilled cheese park.
I’m with you. The other options to vote on were really appealing to me. I LOVED your idea about these features being in a seasons expansion pack. That would have been really cool.
I've read a lot of comments of people saying you don't get codes from EA anymore because you critize their games a lot and that they might lose potential buyers. I don't know. I'm still able to make my own decisions even when people don't like it. On friday I watched a review from somebody else who actually really liked this stuff pack. I cannot comprehend how a person can be so excited by something this boring.
I somehow feel like they had already this stuff pack ready to go and didn't really have a real contest. Like, they were going to release this regardless and the whole voting thing was pretty much just a ruse.
i voted for the off the grid option, it was a lot more interesting, i don’t care for laundry at all, i actually won this stuff pack in a giveaway but i would have bought it for the objects i think
I wish The Sims had competition in the way that Roller Coaster Tycoon had. Now there's Planet Coaster, doing everything Roller Coaster Tycoon would or could not.
Thank you for reviewing. I've now have a rule that i won't buy any sims stuff without seeing your review for it first. Lets face it, there was nothing wrong with the sims 3, it was a better game. i had lost interest in the sims 4 until i discovered mods...
Yeeeees, I've been waiting for a competitor to the Sims for years now. The lack of competition just makes EA worse, I mean, currently they basically have the whole life simulation game market to themselves, right? Paradox Interactive needs to jump on this stat, they absolutely killed it with Cities Skylines! I can imagine them doing some pretty great things with a life sim game.
Thats ridiculous, thinking we're all in a... Huh, I don't recall buying so many wooden chairs. Oh well, at least I'll have plenty of seating in front of my new fireplace! Say, where'd the door go?
I know this is old now, but I like rewatching LGR vids. I also really love the laundry stuff pack. I adore realism in my games and I always make my Sims do laundry! Even my historical Sims get a washtub and clothesline.
i wasn't there for the initial vote for the stuff pack. i just remember hearing an eco living stuff pack was coming out and i was ok with that but i was SO DISAPPOINTED when it was going to be about just L A U N D R Y.
I would have loved the arcade and wedding stuff! Being able to plan a wedding in the sims sounds really awesome to me! Also, it could add a whole new career like wedding planner!
Dude, it doesn't matter to me if EA won't give you a review code for these stuff packs, because yours is the only review I trust when it comes to the Sims. Everyone else's "review" sounds like they're desperate to help EA sell me stuff, while you are always brutally honest. I truly appreciate that.
I bet that even if they do make seasons, all they're going to put is like rain, some clothes, and a few objects. Sims 4 is an utter disappointment... I don't even want Sims 5 to be a thing, and I doubt it will...
Or they'll probably release a rain pack ... a snow pack ... - you get the gist - all for about £20 each. Total cost of seasons for sims 4 = £80. I hope EA doesn't release a sims 5, I'd prefer to see them sell the franchise to another games developer, one that will make it THE SIMS again.
Really its time for EA to split up The Sims and realise that theres very different wants from the community. Part of the community are us old players, some which have played since the first game (which was much more suited for adult players) and then theres all the kids that havent touched the series until Sims 4 and who mostly want to customize their sims and live their dream life through their sims. I couldnt care less about laundry or character values, I want the creepy ass phone calls from Sims 1 and I dont want to feel embarressed to tell people I love The Sims, just because its such a childrens game today. The mix of agegroups just doesnt work out - In Ts1, this meant that kids, like myself then, got scared shitless when the reaper came along. In TS4, this means that the adult player feels like their playing something made for a ten year old. I want to cry everytime the reaper gets his dumb ipad out, give me a 16+ Sims game nooow
I disagree Stephanie Glass, Its time EA Games SOLD THE SIMS to someone who actually gives a shit about it... Browse the comments and you will see that EA Games rigged the Poll in their favor! They already KNEW what they were going to release but made it look like players were having an input... Everything about The Sims 4 has had NOTHING to do with players at all - Its all been about MAKING EA GAMES MORE MOOLAH! They tried to shut down the Modding Community, One of many features that helped The Sims become the Legend that it is, They shut down Will Wright and the Maxis Team as they wanted to be more player focused... This is pure EA Greed... But sadly, they have the buying power and trying to wrest The Sims License from their Grubby Mits will be hard... Its more likely that EA Games will KILL The whole game rather than allow ANYONE to make money by once again giving us the players the game we wanted and that Maxis were ready to give us! I hate to say this, We are watching the Slow, painful, death of a Franchise so many love... A franchise that has SO MANY POTENTIAL EXPANSIONS THAT WOULD MAKE MONEY but EA WON'T invest in!!! Because we as Players are only good for one thing - How much money is in our pockets and how much we will throw at EA Games... SIDE NOTE: Remember many years back that Microsoft and Bill Gates were being investigated by the Federal Courts over their Buy Outs of Smaller companies that made them so big they were becoming uncontrollable? Why has no one done that with EA? Almost every developer they have bought has been SHUT DOWN!
Wow. EA has hit a new low with its greed... sims 2 and 3 would never have even thought of pulling some crap like this... four years of this game being out and we don't have seasons, but hey, we get to do laundry! Yay!
My bet is that we’ll have seasons and university before this game ends. There just isn’t enough time to add anything new unless EA expands the 6 year window that they work on Sims games.
I hope when they inevitably bring out a seasons expansion that they include green energy-type aspects in it. I was so disappointed that that theme didn't make it through the voting! Much more interesting!
Great review!! I totally agree with the “vanilla” pack choice. Arcade or Dangerous would have been amazing! At least we can set our sims on fire with the dryer?
This pack should be called “Stuff that should have been in the base game”
Shit dude, that's almost all the stuff packs.
😂😂😂 so true
Doing laundry and hot tubs should definitely have been in the base game... And seasons, and maybe even pets.
Juli yes!! Those are all BASE LIFE things! It would make so much sense but nope. They just want money 🙄
Wouldn't that constitute as everything? What exactly shouldn't be considered base game and others should?
Here's some ideas for the next stuff pack:
Doing Your Taxes
Watching Paint Dry
Waiting in Line at the DMV (for cars that don't exist in-game)
And one I think would be highly-anticipated: MORE CHAIRS.
minutemuse LMFAO. Winning comment.
And you're not allowed to fast forward 😂
tomkelly00 LOL 😅😭 torture
You should try - yard work simulator
i swear, this is the only thing I'm excited for everytime a new stuff pack trailer came up.
Me too!
I love your videos~!
Whenever I want a quality review on the Sims I always wait for a new LGR video 😃
onlyabidoang I love your Sims logic videos!
onlyabidoang eyy same
I can't wait for the Toenail Clipper Stuff pack so we can watch our Sims do something as mundane as clip their toes.
IKR I CANT KEEEEP INNNN MYYYY EXIIIITTTEEERMMMMMMEEEENNNNTTTTT
😹😹😹😹😹
40 bucks or more only
😂😂🤦🏼♂️
You better keep your mouth shut, you're giving EA ideas. Soon you'll have to pay extra if you want your sim to have a house, you'll have to pay extra real money for fake rent, and real money for sim health insurance.
Paying 10 bucks to do a chore I dont like doing irl. Great
@A. Meowzki you actually can't unless you buying from dollar tree
Strain42 I cannot wait for the sims 4 sims 4 stuff pack (it will come out in 20000040930390303).
Shhhh dont give them ideas! lol
Yup sounds like something worth 10 dollars
Strain42 I would buy it for the lols.
Yossi Jackson
I don't think you get the joke
DANGEROUS STUFF??? We could've had 'dangerous stuff' and we chose LAUNDRY???
We can now do laundry in the perfect worlds, so much fun!
I voted for dangerous stuff
Lina
I mean, at least there's a possibility that the dryer will catch fire. That's kinda dangerous, right???
....ah screw it. Not even I can be an optimist about this.
....although now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not really an optimist.
Oh well.
If you let your washing machine catch fire it is still kind of dangerous I guess? 🤷🏻♀️😂
Vegan Avy oh shit, I didn’t see your comment but yeah, I was thinking the same thing haha
I voted eco-living thinking that it's gonna be a stuff pack about eco living i.e. solar panels, recycling and so on and NOT LAUNDRY
Patryk Wieczorek Yeah that's what I was hoping for after the fact. But here we are :v
Pablo Ranz Most likely >>
EA: what do you guys want?
Users: maybe a bigger map, less loading scre-
EA: did I hear *LAUNDRY?*
This comment needs more attention
Empisi9899 you may not like it, but I like this stuff pack and so do other people that bought it.
I wish I could like this more than once
I mean it was voting so users voted
Why did I think of that Ted 2 scene
how did eco-friendly turn into laundry? they would turn dangerous stuff pack into fireworks
Hilarious thing is washing is really not eco friendly lol might as well be the exact opposite.
faisal3398 I find it funny that a lot of these items look industrial as well tho
TBH I think this should have been something included in the base game...
Veryrandombutterfly seriously ikr
A lot of the these seem like stuff that should have been in the base game.
Doka Habbo You mean the washer and dryer that came with a pack that provided professions and cool new jobs? Ambitions wasn't a Laundry pack. The washer and dryer came with a pack that would've been fine without it. Laundry Day Stuff is solely laundry.
Like everything EA does.
yall think everything should be included in the base game so lets just sticky a comment like this on every single sims video ever
A.k.A, the "Who and why did people want this" pack
Chocolate Cosmos it is if they voted for this and not "Arcade Stuff"
Chocolate Cosmos yep
Lol EA probably rigged the poll to make it look like they cared.
Have you seen some of the theoretical decor and furniture that they were planning for Arcade Stuff if it won? It all looked fantastic! I am so disappointed in the current Sims playerbase.
I am actually going to buy this Stuff pack and it is only $10 so not to bad I think since most of the expansions are over priced imo.
And yes doing the laundry might be a part of that, but that's just it.... a tiny tiny part of it :(
........Why would you think they'd put anything interesting in the pack? Have you learned nothing?
I have been expecting a "primitive life" expansion pack. Where you could maybe have some animals to pick fur from and make clothes, make your own meat (planting it like in the sims 3 would be fine, and it would be really cool if the cows produced seeds for it to make more sense while not being violent), live without electricity, survive the winter and summer without a thermostat... it could be a mix of pets ( but without the pets u know what I mean? more like farm animals) and seasons pack called "living in nature" or "in the wild" Bathing in the lake,or storing and heating water inside... stuff like that! It would be so cool!
I like the eco friendly aspect but really just a laundry pack and a non creative title just sucks
Thanks for actively contributing to the worsening of the series.
The funny thing is solar pannels already exist in the sims2. No wonder sims4 is cheap rip offs.
*EA says they're letting fans vote on a new stuff pack*
Me: Oh, cool! Now us simmers can finally let EA know what we want!
*Eco-Living Stuff wins*
Me: Oh...well, that was my least favorite of the options, but who knows? It might be pretty good.
*Laundry Stuff is released*
Me: ..................that's it. I'm out. If anyone needs me, I'll be playing The Sims 3 - where laundry was a minor portion of an EXPANSION PACK and didn't cost $10 to play on its own.
Still play Sims 3. Its dated but still better.
Krayzie Stryker Exactly. I'm starting to miss the money I had to buy Sims 4.
I just play Sims 2
ALSO CHIAKIIIII
@Dark Skywalker I like both sims2 and sims3... They are both the great games.
I sure can't wait for The Sims 4: Watch Paint Dry stuff pack!
The Toenail Clipper Stuff pack will be better.
The most honest sims reviewer on youtube.
The only non fanboy honest sim reviewer.
Right? I have a love/hate relationship with The Sim Supply. He's entertaining and I like what he does with the sims 4 but he suuuucks EA's dick eventho it's a shit installment of what is an amazing franchise.
No amount of laundering could wash away that LGR charm. Thank you for the video! As thorough, funny, and clever as ever.
Simmers probably only chose this for the roleplay aspect, I wanted the "Off the Grid" Stuff Pack as it actually sounded fun and different for once!
Max Bellamy i wanted wedding stuff I need some new desighner wedding dresses for my sims damnit.
Off the grid stuff would have been so cool for a runaway teen series or even a rags to riches.
Arcade stuff sounded nice! I loved playing as geeky sins
At least it's free now instead of a pack
the fact that there’s only one kind of standard washer/dryer pair is so weird. i’ve had non functional washer/dryer cc in my game for well over a year and there’s like 4-5 different types in a fuck ton of colors.i always feel like sims stuff packs start out with a cool idea like “eco living” and then get watered down to “only laundry”
Even the sims 3 had two options of washer and dryer in Ambitions. A cheap ass one and a good one.
I missed the voting, so I honestly thought it was a joke when they made the pack announcement on The Sims subreddit.
Please give us a competitor series. PLEASE.
Hell yes. If another dollhouse-simulator goes up I'd buy that. I was looking for one the other day.
Sod off with your hell no, competition is an objectively good thing.
Casper Dar
And with the Sims 4, a good life simulation would be a well needed shot in the arm for quality control.
Dudeman162 it probably would’ve brought back the robbers
There is a mod called "Extreme violence" it allows you to stab beat up or choke Sims so you don't need dangerous stuff actually lol
TimberDragoFlute what website can I download it from
Dudeman162 I'm not sure but try searching "Sims4 extreme violence" on youtube someone made a review on it and I think that download was in description of the video
Whicked whims mod also allows you to have explicit sex acts and you get your period in that one and can have abortions smh it’s cray what the mod community has out
i remember an old MAD magazine from the 90s with a story about failed nes games and one was a laundromat game where you sat around bored for hours.
2020 “Eco Living” turns into a whole Expansion Pack
hope the same thing happens for arts and crafts that also was community voted
@@reginabatsvik4267 Lol when knifty knitting, cross-stitching, food preserves, and extreme sports all get added.
Im so upset with how stale this game has become. It has so much potential... I just don't get it.
Anthony Siringo that's EA for you. They choose the profitable option. They don't care about making good games. Just money. How many stuff packs are there? 13 right? That's 130$ That is insane. And most of the stuff they add should have been included in the base game, or part of an expansion pack.
Anthony Siringo download Basemental drugs for sims and trust me, it won't be boring no more :D
QueenThoria that's why I'm only planning to buy 3 of the stuff packs (this, bowling stuff, movie night stuff.)
I'm waiting until they're on sale tho, so it'll only be like $15.
I know. That's why I clarified at the end that they're making too many stuff packs instead of 'packs' that are worth buying.
Think about ambition packs from sims3
I would happily sacrifice 5 stuff packs for a Tailor pack
I can't believe this is what the Sims community wants...
Can't believe there still a Sims community.
TBH I just want the same romantic interactions the sims 2 had.Why can't my sims cuddle while they sleep EA?
This explains the current player base of this game I believe.
Or lack of
I'm guessing the majority of players now, kids, never played laundry in TS3 and realise how god damn boring it was. Also, kids that just want to play "dream life" and arent interested in the sims in the ts1 spirit of scary spooky phone calls or the creepiest reaper ever. I really wish Will Wright would come back and bring the adult spirit back to life in a new sims game
Or you know, the poll was rigged. I refuse to believe humans that dull are the majority.
Oh Dee, exactly, it has charisma! I always struggle to describe TS1, but thats a perfect word, it definitely has charisma that the other games lack.
elenaki zou they are, the majority of the sims 4's fan base is now made up of literal children, prepubescents. They voted for this crap.
I voted for Canning/preserves. Who the hell wanted to do laundry on a virtual game? People don't even want to do laundry in real life.
I did too! still disappointed
I wanted laundry I love laundry, not everyone hates it
@@StarrieMoonlight You are proof that Sims 4 fans really have atrocious taste in content.
You got to give EA credit. That Whicker Whims reference was fairly clever.
As much as I wanted laundry and other things, I still think it should have been available in a free patch like the dish washers.
Neon Flourescent Dog I literally know modders who put more effort into their free stuff than EA has in their animations since launch.
I mean, if it takes 500$ for a dlc to unlock darth vader, what else are they keeping from us
Dead Inside hey as long as Vader isn't pink it's all good, right? Cuz that'd break cannon.
Jael I blame EA if they let us vote in the first place.
Well, I think we all know what the next stuff pack needs to focus on.
Yes... it would perfectly complement this pack:
GARBAGE DAY
... Stuff
We still need the 'Homeless Hobo Stuff Pack'.
Garbage Day Stuff ie. The Sims 4 Mega Deluxe Edition* only $999.99 available exclusively on Origin! Pre-order now and you'll receive a golden chair that makes a "cha-ching" noise every time a sim sits on it!
*walls not included
Sir Caco LMAO!! Yes!! We need “Loads of crap” stuff pack lol
The Duncling i-i kinda want Goat Stuff to be real.....
EA: *furiously writes down notes*
Eric, you are right. I could barely run Sims 3 on a decent build without having fps and clipping issues.
Eric but that is not an excuse
I've offically moved back to the sims 3 because of this bullshit.
Some loud idiots from The Sims subreddit voted for this lol that's the only thing I can think of
Finally someone mentions the the voting and how there were better ideas
That voting went south so quickly, but I blame the Sim creators. I mean, if you KNOW that a sizable chunk of the simmers will go for something so freaking mundane as laundry, DON'T PUT IT IN THE VOTING LIST!!!
What the hell kind of sense does that make? They shouldn't have put an option that they think a lot of people would choose? That's complete nonsense. Look the pack itself is worthy of some criticism as well as maybe how the actual voting system took place, but to criticize an option that one the vote is childish.
Poor Ralph.
Not really expecting him to see inside a working dryer. lol
Is it just me or do Arcade Stuff, Dangerous Stuff and Wedding Stuff all sound better than this?
I don't think you're alone. I would rather have arcade stuff or wedding stuff. Heck, I would've taken dangerous stuff. Not sure why people would want to do laundry in the Sims game. Maybe they like to have realism in the game. But personally, I'd rather be emersed in fantasy.
I would have said that about Wedding Stuff, but we technically have that now, and look how THAT one turned out...
@@guguy00
The monkey paw curled when people called for Wedding Stuff.
Oh this review!!!
It's such a STRECH. Why did people vote for this? We can't even blame EA for it. How can people spend 10$ over this? Ugh, it boggles my mind.
EAxis stopped giving you free copies for reviews because you speak the truth :'(
generic username yeah that’s kinda sad
generic username more likley because his reviews hurt there sales
bosssimcrafter no it doesn’t (he reviews pros and the cons)
The thing is because LGR doesn't mince his words. The PR dept probably thought that he'll give all 100% rosy reviews but nope. This is why most people head to this channel every time a pack is released.
bosssimcrafter
No it doesn't. And stop defending a greedy company.
I don't know what's worse, the fact that this stuff pack exists, or that the community actually voted for it in the first place.
The fun of the Sims for me was always making some weirdo outcast, like a steampunk guy in a beach town or a witch constantly cursing people at a park.
I know thats why I wanted off the grid so bad! They said stuff like you could have solar panels, a well, or windmill and live off the grid and not pay as much rent. I really wanted to make a household that lived in the desert with a tin foil hat sim
1. I hoped that with laundry there will be ironing as well.
2. Of course the obvious, laundry should be vanilla or at least an update
Next year: Sims Tax Returns. All the excitement of seeing a sim organise their yearly receipts.
That actually just came in an update! Well kinda. Haha 😂
Wait, so people voted for laundry over dangerous stuff? Wtf
“Who asked for this?” “Well you guys did.”
Me: No! nobody asked for this! 😂
We asked for eco friendly modern stuff as most.
You have been tricked by EA.
I voted for off grid living. but was out voted by EA...
Yeah, it was one of those small immersing things I enjoyed but for it to have its own pack? With very little in it? Not worth it.
LGR 2018 - I'm old, and I have some clouds to yell at.
I'm nearly 22, and I can't fathom how laundry won either. But I'm not a Sims fan, so that reassurances probably means nothing.
RarefoilB no it means everything.. I've been playing the sims since I was 6, even you, someone who doesn't play, can see how deluded this all is
*enviable washer noises* boi
if that doesn't sum up the whole video...i dont know what does!
Jules Juno 😂😂
For free!
Chocolate Cosmos
Amen.
It could have also just been a base game feature.....so many mundane things we do, our lives that the Sims say they imitate, yet they hardly ever do....laundry was missing. I like the blend of crazy and familiar real life aspects the Sims offers, I just think a lot of it should have been base game stuff.
I've been getting that vibe from sims dlc since 3.
Sims 3 had some eco stuff. It was a free download for some Prius promotion thing. And had wind turbines and solar panels that made your bills cheaper.
We also got similar stuff in the Sims 2 Mansion and Garden stuff pack
All the other options seemed way more fun than laundry, even wedding stuff
I wanted starter home stuff! I like making my sims super poor and I have to download CC to put anything in their houses that's cheap and fits that aesthetic
Doesn't really seem like an issue. CC is almost guarenteed to be better than anything you'd get in a stuff pack.
They could've voted for arcade stuff, and yet they voted for "eco-friendly" and ended up choosing frickin' laundry!? What is wrong with them!?
Chrissehchan The Only People that play sims 4 are just the teachers pets
Removing lint from the dryer. Removing lint from the dryer after you wash your sim's clothes, all while you stand there amongst the assortment of non-interactive furniture. You know, this is why I never play anything other than Sims 1.
Me: Arcade theme sounds awesome!
Sims Community: Nah, bruh, we need dat laundry...
timmer919hep YOOOO
I VOTED FOR DANGEROUS STUFF BOI
Tag yourself as a Sims 4 stuff pack
I'm movie stuff pack because it was full of potential but then turned out very underwhelming and with an identity crisis.
TheCheck I'm the laundry day pack because no one wants to do me.
“2018 is off to a weird start, both here and in real life”
2020: *evil laugh*
What I'm wondering is why is there no functional ironing boards to iron clothes?
They actually attempted that, but it ended up being too much work to include in a stuff pack. Makes me sad. :(
Yossi Jackson they said it was out of budget and that they had other more important things to work in like the laundry system itself, but they did tried
Yeah I miss the horses in sims 3 and specially the unicorn T_T
I would lose my mind if they did a farm life pack and there were chickens, horses, cows, pigs and goats. My dream is to also live in the country with a bunch of animals and live off the land. Could not agree with you more.
Horses would be horrible in the Sims 4
That would fit so nicely in an 'off the grid' expansion pack, along with the traditional clothes washing and drying seen above, and so so much more. It's funny that EA just don't get the picture -_-
Y'know, I'm surprised that someone hadn't modded any laundry items up until now? Maybe then there would have been more incentive for people to vote for something NEW for this dry toast series..
LovelessYayaoi too busy nodding sex acts haha
LovelessYayaoi Toast stuff pack is next
there are better looking washer and dryers out there in cc land - non-functioning though i believe
EA seems to focus more on stuff packs than expansion packs which is ridiculous. Sims 3 expansion packs came out at a faster rate than sims 4.
I cannot comprehend how a person can be so excited by something this boring.
disies free codes that’s why they put on an act for EA dick so they get more free codes
disies eaxctly.
Kat Rose so right. They are so cheap.
disies EA: Give us your honest opinion
Clint: - is honest -
EA, : Nope ur done
I somehow feel like they had already this stuff pack ready to go and didn't really have a real contest.
Like, they were going to release this regardless and the whole voting thing was pretty much just a ruse.
EA has this relation with truth and customers wishes.
2:29 "some crap."
The way you said that made me laugh.. I love the way you do your reviews 😂😂
i voted for the off the grid option, it was a lot more interesting, i don’t care for laundry at all, i actually won this stuff pack in a giveaway but i would have bought it for the objects i think
They need to come up with hobo stuff pack.
This is why we cant have nice stuff
.... Packs
because you break them
I wish The Sims had competition in the way that Roller Coaster Tycoon had. Now there's Planet Coaster, doing everything Roller Coaster Tycoon would or could not.
It's because they've patented the idea and no one else can do it without being sued.
Mariqueen thats ridiculous, they weren't even the first to do this
Not so much. Its EA, they can basically do anything. Especially sue for copyright and most likely win
I’m so annoyed that THIS is what won. It’s so bland and lack luster. As a long time Sim player, I’m very disappointed.
Astoldbyjenny Ikr :(
Thank you for reviewing. I've now have a rule that i won't buy any sims stuff without seeing your review for it first. Lets face it, there was nothing wrong with the sims 3, it was a better game. i had lost interest in the sims 4 until i discovered mods...
Laundry day stuff has 4x more items than luxury party, which is insane
Come on Paradox interactive, find a small team and make your own Sims rival just like you did with Cities Skylines, the Sims is a car crash now
Yeeeees, I've been waiting for a competitor to the Sims for years now. The lack of competition just makes EA worse, I mean, currently they basically have the whole life simulation game market to themselves, right? Paradox Interactive needs to jump on this stat, they absolutely killed it with Cities Skylines! I can imagine them doing some pretty great things with a life sim game.
benrgrogan Goodness yes! Someone needs to tell their team ASAP!
They really need to I'm ready to jump ship.
What's the cure for having the Sunday Night Blues? Why, an LGR episode of course! On another note, what if we're all really just players in The Sims?
Marky Shaw That would be. Interesting.
I'm the one with wet stinky clothes.
ROFL!!!
Thats ridiculous, thinking we're all in a... Huh, I don't recall buying so many wooden chairs. Oh well, at least I'll have plenty of seating in front of my new fireplace! Say, where'd the door go?
I wish the person playing me inputed the fat wallet/big money cheat code.
I voted for off the grid it sounded so much cooler
Solar panels, canning, maybe a compost pile. That would have gone so well with the rustic furnishing.
0:44 Eco Living was originally going to be a STUFF PACK?!
I know this is old now, but I like rewatching LGR vids. I also really love the laundry stuff pack. I adore realism in my games and I always make my Sims do laundry! Even my historical Sims get a washtub and clothesline.
As soon as I saw this pack was a thing couldn't wait for the video you'd release making fun of it. Wasn't disappointed.
i wasn't there for the initial vote for the stuff pack. i just remember hearing an eco living stuff pack was coming out and i was ok with that but i was SO DISAPPOINTED when it was going to be about just L A U N D R Y.
Same. and I don't understand how laundry has anything to do with ECO living ?? Oh well
I too yearn for something new and different. The idea of Laundry is just so wishy-washy
I really like the style of this stuff pack, i really like the rustic look that a clothes line and washing bin gives
I can't wait to see your review of the Eco-Living expansion pack.
Why would I pay for something that should have been in the base game?
Amber Beam
*most of the Sims 4 packs*
And people said that control pets are unrealistic but base game doesn't even have shit that real life does.
I voted for Off The Grid. Ya'll did this to yourselves.
same, at least my conscience is clear
This was my top vote, too. Then arcarde, then wedding....I think Eco was last on the list.
Kyle Bray same
same. i stopped voting after *laundry* won.
i vote eco-living to solar pannels and that stuff not wash my clothes, I only vote the first phase, the rest idk what to tell you
Laundry day? Really EA and sims community, I thought we were better! Oh well, nice video as always LGR
I am so excited for the table pack. Its so fun to see how your sims sit and eat here.
FerDeLance06 I concur, I am so sadden by how far down this game has went down the drain. It seems like with The Sims 4, they’ve became money hungry.
Warren Marris Exactly!
The sims is about simultaing life, houses and design is an aspect of it. Just like life.
Rodrigo Varela actually the other guy is kind of right. Sims was created to design, build and test houses
siloPIRATE yeah the very first concept, but not since the first release.
I was into the eco living pack...when it could’ve been about eco living. Canning would’ve been a fun addition 🙁
I bougt it. My stay at home Sims mom needed this. And the clotherack looked nice in her garden with all the flowers.
Wow. EA has hit a new low with its greed... sims 2 and 3 would never have even thought of pulling some crap like this... four years of this game being out and we don't have seasons, but hey, we get to do laundry! Yay!
Jackie Pink i think seasons is coming this fall but it had been almost 4 years yet we dont have half of the sims 3 content.
My bet is that we’ll have seasons and university before this game ends. There just isn’t enough time to add anything new unless EA expands the 6 year window that they work on Sims games.
The reason we don't have seasons yet is because the sims 4 team is a lot smaller than the sims 3 team
Ugh I can't believe this is what the Sims community picked...I must be old too.
I hope when they inevitably bring out a seasons expansion that they include green energy-type aspects in it. I was so disappointed that that theme didn't make it through the voting! Much more interesting!
Chocolate Cosmos Haha, wouldn't put it past them! Or each season as its own individual game pack 😂
Great review!! I totally agree with the “vanilla” pack choice. Arcade or Dangerous would have been amazing! At least we can set our sims on fire with the dryer?
I had no idea about the "wicker whims" thing... and oh my god... y'all, the fact that they acknowledge the mod even exists hahahahah
