I think they named the app Xbox because at some point you will also be able to stream the games you paid for and not just the game catalog on gamepass.
@@Kirby5588 that would be nice I agree as a long time Xbox fan
That would basically mean the end of physical media. And they would have to have massive servers to handle that many games. Highly doubt they would do that
They already said they are working on that
@@jimmymac2292 Where?
@@LuisPerez-5So you think your entire game is held on that little disk? lol
This is pretty freakin awesome. They should do a Firestick Max and Xbox controller bundle deal.
They have a controller. Amazon Luna
Amazon did the same thing with something called fire tv console, but it's an Amazon controller.
They are comes with 1 year xbox game pass also
Should release a xbox branded fire stick too
Just came out $78
I still have an Xbox One and don’t really see myself upgrading my console for a long time. This is the perfect solution for me as a casual-ish gamer. Thanks!
I have Fire Stick 4K and admittedly an XBOX fan boy, so I was eager to see a video on this.
Thanks!
The latency is actually always lower when choosing performance mode at 60FPS, 30FPS will always add some latency because it's half the FPS.
This right here, I'd like to see a 120hz option, even on displays that can't do it, just to bring the input latency down.
you will feel less latency at 60fps because the frametime has less latency (16.67ms) instead of 33.3 with 30fps.
Same thing will apply with 120fps (8.3ms),the more the frames are,the less the latency will be,both locally and cloud.
When you mentioned that "Many people weren't into cloud gaming because we don't own the games etc" the real main reason is because the latency and feeling of the games is still wonky even with great Internet. So it makes the gaming experience unenjoyable
@@sanchezs7614 you hit the nail on the 👍🏻
@@Phil-B123 With great internet you shouldn't be experiencing latency. I shouldn't be able to do pro level combos on Injustice 2 with 4G LTE on a prepaid tablet.....
@@duke45jpwith great internet. Bro even with good internet you still feel latency anf bad artifacting.
It was an Android Bluetooth issue.
@TheScepticalThinker1 I know Gamepass Cloud is still in Beta so im not to upset because they have a great amount of games. I only cloud with small indie games or not so demanding games like Forza for example. So far i give it 7/10 because i know over time it will improve
4:10 that's because when you choose performance mode the stream gets encoded in 60 fps, so frames will be served faster. Choosing 30 fps will have twice as much latency for each frame (33.3ms vs. 16.6ms). And because your internet connection is stable and high speed enough, that makes the input latency lower because there's no added jitter or anything like that from the extra frames being fed.
This looks pretty cool. I don't own an Xbox or PS5 and can't justify the cost. But this is most of the experience for almost no cost and pairs nicely with my Gamepass PC account. This will let me game anywhere I can plug in the stick or just leave the PC turned off. I like it. On the other hand, cannot say I like the Firestick ethernet adapter. It tops out at 300mbps so pretty much any decent wifi signal is going to blow it out of the water. I have several of those adapters but gave up using them and now run all my Fire devices and Android TV boxes over wifi 6 with no issues.
I remember when I read it from the News: Xbox gaming is is coming for the TV and like in Xbox's The Fire Stick Max trailer where unknown caller said you don't need to have an Xbox to play an Xbox games because you can play games on your TV what sounds so AWESOME this is a great move from Xbox and I would LOVE to try it out with games like Palworld even as to have Xbox Series S through which I can play Xbox games hope this works good and will be a succes for Xbox! 💚
This is a horrible move for people like me who bought a console. It made Xbox consoles. Irrelevant in a sense.. I don't have a huge library on Xbox so half of the games that I would be playing on the console are already available on game pass. Therefore, the console is irrelevant $500 back to My bank account... It's good for gamers but Xbox is cannibalizing their home console market
@@str8poisintv131 xbox isnt useless. you cant play everything on cloud and limit is 60 fps while needing good wifi. pc or console can do ethernet way easier and have a better time right now than using the apps.
My gaming PC got fried by a power surge recently and money is super tight.
I'm thinking about buying one of these so I can do SOME FORM of gaming.
Lol, so many people are calling Xbox useless now, but this is basically their roadmap. Plus, they already confirmed they are making a new hardware.
Ahahahahahaha, how deluded can you be. Sonys been doing this for a while.. but yet.. Sony don't count these firesticks as consoles.. Xbox do, absolutely embarrassing
Yes, and Samsung TVs since 2020 have the Xbox App. I have the Xbox app on my TV. You don't need the firestick. 🙂👍 And it runs great! Soon you'll be able to use the Xbox app on any TV and any device. Xbox Game Pass is the BEST!
Their roadmap is garbage and doomed. No one except Xbox fanboys cares about this shit, and even most of those won't care when there's no plastic box, the ecosystem is barely limping, and third parties keep pulling away from Xbox because Xbox is dead everywhere except the US and third place even here.
Xbox diehards think the current support will continue, they aren't using their brains. The current support is the best its going to get, its only downhill from here. Good luck streaming your huge back catalog when MS execs have fired everyone they can, shifted investment exclusively to sure hit games as service, and they have nothing else left to boost numbers. They'll be asking why they are hosting and supporting so many games most of which aren't making them money or even being played by 99% of customers. It will become CoD, and a handful of mega hits only real quick on xcloud.
@@hulkhogan12345 only thing embarrassing is playing console wars in 2024
@MainCharacter-p8i Why? xD I love Xbox. I have all generations. And there will be many more in the future plus a Xbox handheld. I have the BEST games on my Xbox over all generations, hundreds of games. At the moment I am playing Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 with all the improvements on the Series X. :)
Xbox is doing their own thing. I started playing through XCloud about two years ago, and the service is getting better than ever. Playing a game without downloading or installing sound crazy, but once you try it you don't want to come back.
Choosing a game and playing right away is really innovative. It's like watching Netflix
That’s very impressive for what it is, for someone who just plays causally and not online what a solution.. and just coming back from Japan, everyone plays games on there mobiles.
6:42 it's true, but it's also cheap and a good enough solution for a lot of people.
If a service works well and costs something comparable to a netflix subscription, why not?
It's true some people have better Internet than other but don't have enough money to buy game systems or even PCs so this will be perfect for what they can do
@@IHaveBadWiFiBro Yeah, I also talk from experience: Most of my money is not going to be spent on a gaming PC (It will, just not now) and I still wanna play some games from time to time.
It's not perfect but it works.
I think it's crazy something like this works so well for most people. I wonder how this will affect console sales going further.
It isn't cheap though, it is cheaper just getting a series s and buying a few games or game codes from keysites then using game pass ultiamate for 2 years.
Samsung TVs since 2020 have the Xbox app. You don't need a stick. I have the Xbox App on my TV. 👍😊Don't need a Fire TV Stick. I would not sideload a phone Xbox app on a TV. Microsoft has optimised the Xbox app for Samsung TVs. It runs great!
@@Vegan_Lifting all my TVs are from 2013 or older
@@Kirby5588 2013? How you play Xbox Series X in 4k / 120fps? Too old. Only Samsung since 2020 has the Xbox App.
@@Vegan_Lifting I have a monitor. But I've never bought an actual TV. Someone gives me their old one every few years. Also only have series S so only need 1080p 120fps
@@Kirby5588 Series S has 1440p. But Only newer TVs since 2020 with HDMI 2.1. supports 120hz / 120 FPS and VRR is very important, HDR is nice too.
Well I think it’s easier for most people to pick up a $50 fire tv stick instead of a new Samsung TV. :D I have seen that in action and it does seem to work well. Super glad to see it opened up to a broader audience though.
Gotta say man I appreciate the non bias review everyone is trashing cloud gaming but like you since it started I've used it an this year by far has been the best for cloud gaming the level of improvement is amazing an glad to see the project make it so far an still going to this day!
All this makes me really want is that clean Xbox interface on the Xbox Series with no Ads and just simple menus and another tab for the store. I like that at the top with an Xbox Logo for the Sidebar, main screen for the games. Still hate the current xbox interface.
Think this is a sensible tie up for Microsoft and Amazon, especially this close to Prime Day. Shift a load of new Fire Sticks and get some new Game Pass subs too.
I don’t understand why this app is mot available for the Fire Tv Cube as it’s a more powerful and capable device. 😞
i think that was such a great move , as long as they keep it up to date and making sure it runs GOOD !
I just ordered the Xbox fire stick bundle. You get an Xbox controller, the fire stick 4K, and you will get 1 free month of game pass ultimate. It was $68
I got it today - works great. Thea idea is for the wife & kids to use it, when I am at work. My Series X was looking at me strange though, when I approached the tv with that tiny fire stick...
I got one in the sale! Cant wait to try it.
I'm playing only locally. Cloud gaming is not for me. I want to own my games physically, without lag and no video feed.
I can only accept that if you were a pro player from the leagues.. being a cex fan boy kind of nintendo fan..
meh cloud gaming aint for you.
yeah i like listening to cassettes still too
I needed the upgrade on the stick anyway as the OG 4k stick had constant issues with storage management and was getting slow. I have been debating getting an Xbox for months now since I wanted to play away from my PC or handheld. This saved me a few hundred $$ for sure. Only problem is I have yet to get it to work lol. I get green scree every time a game loads. I can hear it, but can’t see it.
Does anyone know why this is not working for everyone. I have the same device as ETA prime does, the app is there but its telling mw my device is not compatible. The only thing that I can think of is I am in Canada but they never noted it was only for specific regions.
Wisconsin mines is saying the same thing
I wonder if when the next big update comes out how star field will help? Where you can change fps and stuff if they keep their word.
This will be nice to have if not feeling like gaming in the game room and have a small screen for living room or something. Others can still watch the main tv while you game in a comfy chair
Looking at the title of the video, I thought for a second that the we were now talking about a native gameplay on the fire stick . Hoof, thank God it was on the cloud.. 😁
Please tell me if not the only one with a first stick max and not seeing the app as of yet ?!
@@ambitiousgaminghd Mine says not compatible
it's a "Xtic", if they made another wire connecting to the opposite side like an "H" it would be called Xtix. that other side would be the hub for ethernet, usb, an sd card for gaming storage (hopfully not), and another hdmi connector. Ooo what if a anker charger shape but a bit larger and more cube like, then it would be called an Xbox. doubt they cool it down.
I knew it would come down to this, Soon Microsoft going to make their own Xbox branded streaming stick dongle, The grim future of gaming has begun.
When I click on the xbox app it says "app not found"
I think if Xbox can get to a point were single player games feel pretty good (not yet for competitive games) - if they start releasing COD every year to GPU then I feel like it will help them expand GP a lot!
only works if you have fast internet
do you think symmetrical 600Mbs would be enough?
You only need 10Mbps for Xcloud gaming

Cloud Gaming has a looooong way to go. Also a lot of Americans live in rural areas with terrible Internet.
The MOST important question is Can I access my Library of Games ????
this is the future believe it or not, consoles will desapair at some point,if there were no lag while playing on the cloud youd not need a console already
To me, game streaming is like the printer and ink scam. Firestick, or Chromecast, or whatever is cheap. Xbox Cloud is also one of the better streaming experiences. But when I had Ultimate, I was paying $257.50 CAD a year (with tax) and I wasn't even playing the vast majority of games on there. Worked out cheaper to just wait for sales and buy them outright. Plus with streaming, you're limited to what's on Game Pass. Local hardware, while more expensive up front, is still the better investment IMO. I own the hardware, I own (an indefinite license at least) the games, experience is always consistent, works with bad or no internet, you can sell the hardware when you're done with it, and consoles tend to retain a good chunk of their resale value as they age.
Can you stream from Xbox console, locally on the same lan ? Or it is cloud only. ?
Such a great option, especially for people who want to casually game but don't want to shell out a lot for an Xbox
WIRED CONTROLLER
Iv had ultimate sense it launched on pc a wired controller gets you almost no latency. You need something like a hub for firestick but wired controller is best no matter were you stream it.
This looks great for a cloud gaming but I'll stick to my third party app which allows me to stream my Xbox SX remotely. No subscription fees.
Remote streaming doesn't require a subscription.
ur still payin for online with some games
Well yea you should be using performance mode for any game you stream to cut down on latency
can you remote play your xbox console on the app?
It's amazing for games like Octopath Traveler and other RPGs.
Seems like Google should be sprinting to allow both Xbox Gamepass and Luna (and every other streaming game service) to be easy and functional on the Chromecast.
Sideloading is probably the answer.
But Google should've transitioned away from Stadia to its usual strategy of selling access and not the end product.
I picked up a stick for $35 best console ever 👍 value for the money. Will it work with a Luna controller?
So i connected 2 controllers.....but they both seem to be the main controller. Any idea how to pair 2 remotes to the stick and have them independent just like xbox for 2 player mode?
Love mine, can play my Xbox games in hotels now.
The idea of cloud gaming is great. But the performance is not worth it, even with Ethernet connection.
Its in beta stuff like geforce has good stuff like 240 1080p. Xbox still beta so can get better and it looks fine for me anyways tho
Hope roku has it soon i would love to play it there
The future of XBOX? A lot of speculation about them going more software and limited hardware
It would be nice if you could stream games you own like the andoid xbox app. I don't have game pass and this would be nice if I could steam stuff i own.
I have the 4K Max and it still says unavailable for my device. Already checked and stick is updated. Not sure what's up.
I have tried app xbox on my firestick 4k max 2021. I know that my stick was problematic, i had problems of stuttering in video ( netflix, dazn), but i didnt think that xbox app, unofficial, would be so terrible..... Lag lag lag. With my samsung tv crystal uhd 9070, xbox official app, it is perfect. Why?
Same router distance, samsung tv with wifi 5ghz, firestick 4k max with wifi 6, same xbox joypad.
Ftth 1gbit.
My stick is defective?
My cloud sucked on my Xbox. Now I got firestick and it runs smoother. So one TV has my Xbox. And the other my firestick. Now I wonder if you could play 2 games simultaneously.
So basically it's just a streaming option that allows you to play your games from somewhere else? Although, I'm not entirely clear on whether you can stream from your XBox or the just the cloud, and if it's both, it kind of makes sense if you could have your XBox setup at home in the office and then play it on nothing more than a stick device when you go to a friends' house. If that's not an available option then please correct me.
Thx for the info. Rather play this way than pay 300 for console
you should do a review on the new AtomMan G7 PT by minisforum i am very interested in seeing what the GPU is capable of.
There just Series x consoles in large server farms
Can you remote play from your local XB console.
I want to know this also
How much does all this cost? Fire stick, internet, game pass ultimate a month?
I'm struggling to find the excitement for this... Most TV's at sub $1,000 can stream Game Pass by now, actually damn near anything with an OS can stream Game Pass. A lot of people also have a tablet or a phone that can do video over HDMI - and stream Game Pass. It's like watching Netflix. It's the same no matter what you are using it really.
Can you play this on a regular Amazon fire tv or no
@@BB0Y0 relevant question because I bought a Fire Stick (normal, not Lite) on Prime Day and it looks like it's not compatible. The wording from Microsoft was so vague when talking about Xbox on the Fire Stick that I just assumed it was available to all versions of the Stick that could accept an Xbox controller via Bluetooth. But alas, not working on my recently purchased Fire Stick 😑
i think its wrong of xbox to release this as a announcement in the way they have when its still in beta.
I got rid of my series x and got a PS5, still have gamepass until 2026 and have a fire stick. Can I use a PS5 controller?
Hello! Did you compare app xbox of samsung tv with app xbox on firestick? I have a samsung tv crystal 2021, do you think that firestick version of xbox app has less latency?

They should make a wired Amazon stick...FIX THE REAL PROBLEM
Other than a boost to Fire TV stick sales I don't see any benefits for Amazon. If anything it all but confirms the death of Luna. So we know Amazon has failed at making a successful video game platform just like Google Stadia.
@@matthewhardwick8208 I bought the firestick recently and the offerings on Luna are really sparse. This makes it so Amazon can use Xbox to give their users access to much more games -opposed to the slim pickings on Luna.
