For those out there, you got the Fire TV cube you can actually put Xbox on there too, but you got a sideloaded. I have a Fire TV cube third generation and I got Xbox on there as well.
I own an Xbox but I was curious about the firestick as a 'back up' for certain games. Thanks for the video. Also, the lag isn't a matter of being wired or wireless. There's input lag because the game is hosted on the cloud & streaming to your device. It's not natively installed on the Firestick. So while internet speed does play a factor, you should be good with as little as 30mbps speeds. These days, internet plans start you off at about 300mbps.
I bought the 4K Max, use it mainly for Xbox. Works great, playing games like Forza, Halo etc with no lag at all. No Console and using my old Stadia Controller. In UK.

I think this is a good option for someone who cant afford an xbox console. But if you own a console I dont see the point in spending an extra 20/month to play only the games thats on the cloud when remote players work fine and you can play pretty much whatever you want. But as an xbox series owner, im turned off by the extra money having to spend on game pass ultimate just to cloud game on a firestick.
One more detail: to play games on Game Pass on day one, you have to pay for Ultimate. You can't do it with the standard version anymore. So, even if you don't have a console, you're practically forced to get the Ultimate version to play on day one.
It's not really a detail he forgot to mention cause the only way to play those games on the firestick is subscribing to gamepass ultimate...having any of the lower tiers would not allow you to play on the firestick so day 1 options would not be available to those people anyway.
In the Xbox Game Pass app. There's 3 locations, PC, Console & Cloud. Whatever you see on the cloud will be playable on the Stick. That's almost everything.

Tb be fair, cloud gaming been around for 10 years + it's just it's been really refined within the past 4-5 years and Xbox has the reach to take the concept mainstream and a serious alternative to physical console ownership.

If you're into the emulation and hacking scene you can easily sideload the xbox app on ANY firestick...even the firestick lite which you can get for about $18 these days...we've had it for over 4 yrs now.
You can play the digital games you own on your xbox through remote play...not sure why the big console makers don't promote that but xbox and Playstation have remote play that they barely talk about as a feature...probably because it's free.😄

I want to credit another reviewer but I cannot remember or find where I heard it from looking at my history but basically the number was like xbox could have released 150 AAA titles for the price they paid to acquire activision. Since then there were massive layoffs and now increase in gamepass subscription(starting Septmember) that you are paying more for less. Even the FTC are thrashing them for charging you more for less. I wanted xbox to succeed but I can't support their business practices...only shining moment for them recently is them rebuking DEI 🤣

Well, this is due to your Internet. If you have cheap Internet, you’re not gonna get a good experience. I have T-Mobile home Internet and I don’t have no lag issues whatsoever on my Fire TV cube but then again my box is capable of pushing out Wi-Fi 6E the maximum speed possible You can’t blame Microsoft for you having cheap Internet. You have to have good Internet or you’re not gonna be able to play this properly and then it also depends on how many people are on the Internet in your household. It doesn’t bother me because I mainly play from my cell phone and my 5G is awesome so I don’t have to be on the Wi-Fi at my home to push 300 MB download speeds
@@GustavoFil350 I noticed that the time of day impacts performance. If I go on around 6pm it’s pretty bad, but after 9pm things get a lot better. I think this is just something that comes with Cloud Gaming. It will take some time for it gives you the same performance as a physical console. But at this price point it’s acceptable. @@Marcthegeek Why would that be horrible? Isn't it like youtube but with only remote controls added? It's streaming right. You can stream a 4k Video in youtube if you have 25 Mbps connection. That's not a very big requirement. So even if it's uncompressed video, you should be fine with 50 Mbps connection for at least 2k gaming. Problem is not with connection. Problem of resolution is there coz of hardware which Microsoft is using to stream those games. They are using Series S boxes for streaming these games. That's why it's limited to FHD mostly.
Streaming Videos on UA-cam is never the same as Streaming a Video Game. When you are watching a video in 4K, you are not inputting commands like you would be when playing a video game. The higher the Video Game Quality, the higher the Input Lags people will encounter depending on the Internet speeds. Thanks for sharing your input.

My button press will be linked with certain aspect of game, which shouldn't be linked with resolution. Something is not adding up in this game streaming scenario..
