Note on the new style of Bamboo darts that come with this blaster : They're lighter than many other darts, which artificially boosts velocities BUT that extra velocity is lost quicker resulting in the same ranges and importantly - worse accuracy.
@@johnybloom5575 i heard that ember and diamond darts are only good for dart zone blasters but i’m not sure. I mainly use worker high end dart because i don’t have access to dart zone darts. Sorry i can’t give a proper answer because i don’t live in the US. Try watching bradley phillips review on darts.
I'd say the Mk2.1 is would be more fitting in a pistol only round, or if modified as a long range sidearm alongside a weaker primary, if you're into that kind of thing. The original Mk2 takes the cake when it comes to a smaller form factor sidearm just in case your primary jams.
I mean, the firerat is much better in terms of ergo, but it's much more expensive if you get all the stuff as MK2.1. And it's shooting much more spicier than the firerat.
@@eomersimbajon2938 Something like an unmodified Stryfe, Rapidstrike, or generally anything you like that doesn't exceed the modified Mk2.1's velocity, so you can use it for the occasional long range shot.
Apparently, the new Bamboo darts are a lot lighter and flimsier than most DZ darts we've come to know and love (they're about 25% lighter than the 1-gram old Bamboo, DZ Max and Ember darts). Lower dart weight increases FPS and range, but decreases accuracy (think of how Ultra darts behave). It also means FPS readings are artificially inflated with the included darts, as using the same not-as-light darts as other blasters means you don't get that advantage. Hope you get a shot at reviewing the MK1.2 soon. It's... an experience. Sillybutts has a video on how to fix that blaster's very frequent jams.

Got mine today from Amazon. It is very accurate and fun to shoot. Much easier to prime than Aeon Pro. I'm going back and forth between the included bamboo 2.0 darts and the ember darts shooting outside and it seems the bamboo fly away a little more, probably due to the lighter weight.
I think you and other leading people (many of them on youtube) should take credit for the very good offerings of mainstream sold foam blasters lately, Coop. For the companies it is of course always about money, but I think you guys have contributed to the hobby being elevated even for us who only go to the bigger stores to get one. I have Mk. 2, I will def get 2.1 when I get a chance.

Im not sure which i like better. Advantage to a magazine is that you stick it in, and youre done. Disadvantage: you have to keep track of the removed empty magazine. And you have to swap the first mag with one of the ones on your belt while also holding the blaster. For speed loaders, you have to align it, and push the darts in, so its a more complicated task. But the advantage is that you can empty it and throw it back in your holster without having to fumble with a second one at the same time.
In regards to darts The newish green/yellow darts, they are lighter hence why you get higher fps. I've tested them to a good amount of blasters from 130fps to 350fps with these darts and on av got 20fps+. However, the these darts a horrible when going over 160fps, they fishtail even with a scar and not accurate over 220fps. For longer range say 40m, they drop really quick compared to worker gen3+ red and Max darts
That's actually a VERY important point you have about having to invert the mag carrier to get the dart out. Big time downer. And goodness me are you good at reloading! And also good point about the ember darts being inconsistent. I use bambo all day long now. Especially noticeable with the Foam Knight XE. Easily the best review out right now, great job! I loved the back and forth comparison with the mk2.

But what it did do was reignite my interest in Nerf blasters and I've been obsessively binging the majority of your videos in the last 4 weeks. Keep up the great work!
I have a 2.1 and I agree with how fun it is to reload! But also a note I don't think Coop mentioned- you can chamber rounds and still remove the mag, which is why the feed lips are designed as such. I think it's a very cool feature that may get overlooked
I would run them together. The mk2 as a secondary and the mk2.1 as a primary. I know crazy but I love to go john wick and the mk2 can be snug against my backbone
I just got mine today. I compared it to my zinc. If you don't have a 3d printer, you'll most likely get this because it's 120 total for the blaster set up & the extra 4 magazines on Amazon (7 mags total.) Opposed to the 120 for a DIY kit from Frontline Foam (who have a reputation of being slow or unsatisfactory at times ; if this is your retailer) with 2 mags and 150 for the pre built version still with two mags. Or you're Elon Musk and you like compact sidearms then you'll probably get the 200 dollar pre built zinc still with fewer magazines (compared to the 2.1) which would cost you 18 dollars extra for the same amount of magazines plus 10$ shipping. Personally I was thinking about getting another Zinc until I heard about this. I also have an issue with the pre-built magazines I have received from Frontline Foam for my zinc. I have average size hands and it's really easy for the mag to slip out from the lightest accidental press of the mag release. Maybe that's why they made the mag release for the 2.1 so small because it really takes a conscious effort to press. However I think just by putting it a half an inch higher and making it bigger would have been a full proof work around that concern. Also the muzzles for the stryker & the Nexus are compatible & since a lot of people where asking, you could totally shave down two small pegs in the speed loaders for the original MK2 & it will totally fit the 2.1 The issue I found with the carrying system is the weight of the blaster and it's tolerance for the holster. It slips out much easier than the original would. In summation, if you're willing to sacrifice size aesthetics, on a budget, and looking for a good competition sidearm pistol, get this or stick with the mk2 if you find one at a good price.
Other than the original MK2, this will be comparable to the Zinc 2.0 by Frontline Foam, purely because they use propeitery mags and the half-dart shooting ability
Definitely two very similar platforms, it's really gonna depend on if you prefer the modularity of printed blasters or the solid feeling of an injection-molded one. Small note: the Zinc and Zinc 2.0 aren't made *by* Frontline Foam, they simply sell them (the creator is named 118 Design if you wanna check them out). If not for the difficult assembly, I'd recommend getting one printed and assembling it yourself. Blasters from Frontline Foam don't always have the best quality.
Mmmm external box mags, super tacticool along with the holster, mag carrier, and the little muzzle device. And I'm ngl, I quite like the look of those goggles :D
Does the 2.1 allow you to top up? I have not seen anyone this. Also, I believe drop leg holsters are better for quickly drawing a handgun. A hip holster is better for carrying for long times without use.
@American Foam Thank you, I think that is a really important feature for this kind of low capacity sidearm. Would definitely be a deal breaker for me if it didn't.

The amount of times you pulled the trigger and nothing came out seemed like it happened 50-60% of the time. Even watched it in slow motion to confirm that at least half the shots were jams and nothing came out. For $99.99 this is an absolute rip-off. I'd rather spend $20 on a Nerf Kronos that I know is almost never gonna jam.

Actually lower weight does mean increase fps but reduce accuracy and range. It doesn’t have enough weight to keep its momentum going.

I think I’ll be selling my MK2. Also the drop mag having the adjustability looks like you could using it like a regular hip holster

It’s also important to note that the new neon pro darts are lighter than the ruby/ember darts so they don’t hit as hard but achieve a higher fps.
