The Adventure Force Deuce Pro is a brand new PRO version of essentially the NERF Elite Strongarm, and on paper everything seems good! This is why it is worth having many voices talking about the same things. This is the value of getting a second opinion. Thanks for showing us all the quirks and not just the marketing material. I may still pick up this blaster, just to see if I can tinker with and "fix" it. But, I also may just wait and see if anything is publicly acknowledged and/or addressed.
Unfortunately, as much as Drac liked to bash Nerf shills as their quality dropped over the past couple of years, he's become a bit of a DZ shill himself.

Completely agree. Drac is in the pockets of Dart Zone. They can do no wrong in his opinion. He has NEVER addressed any of the known issues in the Pro And Adventure Pro lines
For anyone who doesnt want to sit through the entire video for him to make his point, its main issue is that the cylinder rotates at the very end of the prime back motion. This means that if you dont pull all the way back every time you will skip the cylinder. If you are just plinking this blaster is still for you, but if you plan to use it competitively it may give you some issues. Hope that helps!

I love this blaster. Personally I find it to be best for kids-teens entering pro level as the prime is minimal and with proper explanation of use it’s like a laser gun and it won’t jam if they use it properly. That seems fixable using a 3d printed parts. Like maybe make it rotate a bit earlier.
Hope Dart Zone sees this and tries to iron out the problems in later models. Gotta give them props for trying. Not everything's a success but at least they're learning.
Cylinder fed blasters seem to be something of a bugbear for Dart Zone. The original Magnum Superdrum, the Adventure Force Savage Spin and even the much loved (and rightfully so) Adventure Force Villainator all have somewhat poor dart fit. If you don't use just the right darts, they WILL drop out of the cylinder.
Meanwhile the Tomahawk will actually break itself moving that beefy cylinder around, to say nothing of having to bend one's darts to load that thing in the first place. Fingers crossed that the upcoming pro-line Tomcat will finally address all of these issues, but given the cylinder looks like the Tomahawk's...well, fingers crossed.
Thank you for bringing the tomahawk up scene recently I finally got a replacement for my broken tomahawk (I don’t know how I broke it but I think if you pull the trigger hard, it will break, that’s how I broke my tomahawk in a nerf battle on New Year’s Eve of all days) now I have a replacement and I pull the trigger slowly and carefully.
I think the tomcat will work better than the tomahawk as tomcat is gonna be a pump action springer meaning maybe a different firing mechanism? I guess we will wait until a review come out
My Tomahawk has a non-reciprocating pusher right out the box. I haven't opened it up to see what the problem is yet, I'm hoping the return spring just got un-hooked somehow, but yeah, Dart Zone have had a few QC issues lately.
Despite its faults, it's still a pretty neat blaster. I'll end up getting one just because I do enjoy the style of it being a revolver.
This gun is essentially the dart blaster equivalent of the 1860 model black powder revolver. The 1860 model was revolutionary in having a quick reload system by switching cylinders rather than reloading them in the heat of battle.
Also kinda reminds me of an 1895 nagant with the whole pushing forward and sealing mechanism.

It's the Remington New Model Army (1858) that has the easily removable cylinders.

Cereal is so good. He's right about the maple waffle. Reminds me of Waffle Crisp which was my favorite as a kid.
The cereal is no different from a store bought rice crispies or something, except it has sweeteners instead of sugar and is way more expensive.
Better stick to regular cereal or just have a sandwich.

A lot of the blasters are relatively inexpensive. Nexus, Stryker, aeon...additionally, unless you're referring to the hobby of collecting prime time toy blasters, this hobby has been here long before dart zone and will be here long after, I assure you

My most anticipated blaster of the year… right behind the tomcat
I've had the exact same issues with the cylinder not indexing on mine. It's frustrating because it seems to occur both when priming too hard and when not priming hard enough so you can't overcorrect to get it to work reliably.
In the comments of Drac's mod guide, he says that a friend of his figured out how to fix the issues with the rotation mech. It seems that it's simply a matter of replacing the springs in it with stronger ones. As for the darts falling out of the barrel, there exist aftermarket cylinders that hold them in much better now.
Kind of annoying that this blaster needs modding to be competitively viable, but it also goes to show that the modders always find a way!
Can you strengthen the spring you have with a spacer?
Not sure that anyone was seriously considering this for competitive play. Magfed is simpler, sleeker, etc. I'd expect this to be used for a cowboy themed loadout or just for plinking. Heck, the malfunctions are almost historically correct for some firearms, lol. Respect for being honest about the issues w/ this blaster, even the greats can push out crap blasters sometimes.
Absolutely agree. The DZP MK 2.1 is a far more competitive flinger. I imagine that thing is gonna be a lot more popular. Definitely awesome to have options, though.
It’s a little disappointing because I personally kinda like this revolver system for competitive play although I prefer the internal mag system of the MK2. For 40 dollars I would like this. The issue it has with the cylinder sounds bad but not a deal breaker IMO. A bunch of MK2’s failed almost without explanation. Of course it has a fix now but people didn’t hate on it then

Thank you for bringing this issue to light. Wanted to wait a bit to buy any of the new AF/DZ blasters. Already not feeling the 1.2 from American Foams review and will be sticking to my 1.1. I might still pick up the Deuce eventually even if just for plinking.
I haven't seen the 1.2 review yet, but his 2.1 review doesn't make it look like a war worthy blaster either, with the weird staggering it has where you have to prime it just right where it doesn't lock up on you. So it seems that DZP is showing some dark spots now sadly
I really wanna pick up one of these for my birthday, as i want a few pro-level blaters to introduce UK people (We dont have DZ / AF pro, which is sad) to good blasters. It may not be the best, but it's still pretty cool

The skipping is really important to know about, and I do think I'll hold off for a bit to see if anything updates/changes with the blaster in the short term. The misfires are a bit of a bummer, though I can understand some teething problems with a mechanism like this that's a relatively new approach. Though I'm also really casual and haven't actually done any big events or anything so idk if they'd affect me too much? Hard to say.
Good thing about Dart Zone is they're usually pretty good about acknowledging and fixing mistakes when they get out to the public. Let's see if the past track record applies to the Pro line.
I feel like dart zone's testers don't field test enough. I think they're all sitting inside in controlled environments assuring things work smoothly for plinking and presume that'll carry over into field play
I really wish I would have seen this video earlier, because I bought mine a few weeks before this video came out and I was a bit frustrated when my blaster didn't really function correctly. I hope Dart Zone addresses this issue.
Good news! Sillybutts released a video earlier today with a fix (it just needs a stronger spring which he scavenged from a clicky pen).
And so, the Deuce falls in line with the Matrixfire and Mk. III. A cool concept that breaks the mold a bit and shows promise in it's performance, but falls short in one or two critical points.
I think this might actually get fixed though
Because the matrix fire Primarily has a rate of fire problem
And the mark III had the slow rate of fire and the talon issue ( Which I think was fixed)
The deuce has a bit more of a critical issue So I have high Hopes it will be fixed
I'm watching before I buy! These new blasters are great options, but I'm set with my nexus pro, max stryker, and aeon pro!!
It does seem like Dart Zone is beginning to slack. For example, American Foam did a review on the Dart Zone Pro MK1.2 and said not to purchase the blaster because of the issues he experienced. The unit he recieved may have been a lemon but, considering that Duece Pro is also having issues, it may just be that Dart Zone is starting to slack. We'll just have to hope that the other blasters being released this year won't be as bad as these two.
The MK1.2 already had feeding issues at DZPT. Issues that could be solved with a 3-minute fix of cutting two internal tabs (see Sillybutts' video on how to do it). Apparently they knew about it before the finals but never decided to do anything about it.
Doesn't look too good when your "biggest competitive tournament in the US" just ends up being advertisement for Dart Zone's malfunctioning blaster.

Yeah I got a mate who bought one of these at Foamfest, this weekend just gone, to use at the after-party games and he had the same issues with the cylinder skipping or not rotating properly 😐

Someone on the FB group said removing the prime lock mechanism seemed to fix the indexing issue for them at least. I'm curious to see what other people come up with as they get the blaster.

@@Johnsafatass dang. Well I doubt this will get fixed by Dart Zone since it’s in production and in the wild. Seems like this wave of release isn’t too great (Mk 1.2, 2.2, this).

My MK3 broke today while in use. Rev trigger does not work at all for no reason.
Then I hear about issues with the Deuce Pro and the issues with the MK2.1.
I think I’ll be holding on to my money for a bit!

I'm really happy to hear you mention about the sound level. Many blasters are really quite loud. It would be really cheap/free for reviewers to take a quick decibel reading from a phone app or a 15$ meter from amazon. Honestly I think something that more reviewers should mention... Hearing protection is really important in your youth.
I'm 38 and already have hearing loss, granted I spent the last 18 or so years in the military around helicopters...

You can't make a slam dunk every time. So I'm perfectly willing to forgive dart zone for slipping up on this one, as long as it doesn't become a habbit.

Bought one of these today, and the cylinder fit issue has been fixed, the darts are now snug in the cylinder
The loud bang comes from the pusher air flow design and the tight dart gate. I was able to inside a few O-ring from behind the pusher (from inside) that eliminates the bang firing worn darts. Fresh dart thou, insanely loud.

I got this thing in the clearance section of Walmart for $15. Given the price, and a shiny new paint job I'm happy enough w it. I only did what everyone else did; remove the pain my ass safety and prime lock. There's no reason to ever take the barrel extension off.

Hey Walcom, you should try and stack rows of 2 to 3 of those .50 foam balls inside a short dart magazine and see if it will fire.
I wonder if there is a way to make a carbine kit for it. So you can make a rifled barrel, small stock or brace. And make it pump, lever. Or even bolt action as a primary?

tldr: the failure of the cylinder rotation is a fatal flaw, because this is a sidearm - and you'll probably be using it in a split second draw if your primary jams or you can't reload it fast enough. so, it's important that it doesn't fail when you need it to function correctly without hand-holding it. you won't have the time to make sure you prime it all the way.
For as good as this blaster is in terms of performance, it's rather lacking in user experience. Something about it just comes off as oddly crude, with the way the prime works and how careful you have to be when priming it, which - if this gun is a sidearm it's more than likely you'll find yourself pulling it from your holster in a sticky situation.
In that case, you're probably stressed. When you're using it, it's more than likely you're in a scenario where you're only worried about shooting the person before they shoot you - and it's unlikely that you're going to be calmly, and carefully priming it. No, instead you'll be roughly stammering to fire, and that is ripe conditions for you to accidently not prime it all the way, resulting in the cylinder not rotating.
Although the performance is good, this prime is so irresponsible for the situations this pistol is supposed to shine in, and for the price - such a malfunction is so stupid, because it's not a hard fix either. Although, the replaceable cylinder is an amazing addition and serves for that quick reloading most revolvers desperately require for fast-paced nerfing, I still wouldn't recommend this blaster because it will fail when you need it to function most.
It's sad that the only non-expensive (i'm talking about the magpie, which is extremely expensive in comparison) or super obscure blaster with a form of speed-loading, failed so hard in the one feature it needs most. Because I know for a fact nobody with the kind of budget to afford this, is going to be running it as a primary. I'd honestly much better take a zuru x-shot reflex six, because it's open-ness allows it to be speedloaded with the right 3D printed parts, and it's range can be fixed with some simple modifications. It's cheaper, and it's honestly more reliable than this in mostly everyway. I'd much rather take bad performance, but good reliability with something I NEED TO RELY ON IN A SPLIT-SECOND SCENARIO.
I was very exited for this to come out. I was so disappointed when I saw that it wouldn't actually work as a side arm. In fact it actually pushed me to by the orange DZ MK2 so I could still have that type of blaster. Scheme by DZ to entice people to by a bigger product? Maybe. But at least I feel like Spike from Cowboy Bebop shooting it around the house, so not a total loss.
I still love the Strongarm thanks to you and Mister Nathan, with the drop cylinder mod it is so much better!!!

If you can buy the ammo holder and cylinders separately you could run and gun fairly efficiently and run different ammo for different situations
Performance is excellent on mine, the cylinder actually indexing properly every time is where it falls apart.

This alongside the Pro 1.2 and MK 2.1 coming out by Dart zone all look really fun and awesome to use. However I’ve read and watched into quite a few reviewers that point out problems from all 3 blasters that you usually do not see out of Dart Zone. I’m probably still gonna buy the Deuce Pro despite its problems because I love revolvers, but I’m a bit bummed to hear all these problems because Dart Zone has been on fire lately, but I have no doubt they will address the issues with the blaster.

Sad to see that the priming mech is so inconsistent, but that blank/smooth tac rail is interesting, makes me wonder if they are investing more heavily in the modding community. Any normal buyer would have no idea why the rail was blank and might even complain, so I'm glad to see DZ start taking those risks.

For the thing where the slide released it may have been because you were pulling the channel half way, that’s what all the people making need reload shorts do in the Fortnite pistol and mega magnus if you pull the slide back and pull the trigger half way the slide will lock back and when you pull the trigger it goes forward
Is that hyperfire rounds he is loading 11:43 ? Honestly I like this blaster for the shotgun load its very cool.
They’ve been messing up for awhile. MK 1 had a unusable stock and so many other little issues that they released a MK 1.1. MK 2 had a 50% failure rate out of the box and many wouldn’t hit 50fps. MK 3 had inconsistent full auto cycling. All for a premium price and no one wanted to talk about the issues, especially their slappy Drac. I give you credit Walcom for bringing up issues with this blaster.

I got better performance after remove the 2 locks and the deleting the safety. It helped... didn't fix it :/
I hear the spring in the rotation mechanism might be too strong so it might be forcing it to advance when it's not a "perfect" prime to compensate for it.

the same exact thing happen with my Deuce Pro twice at 21:48 like that is a serous issue with it as i can imagine that people could get hurt from that issue since it can just happen without you trying

Non-rotating dummy cylinder that's a talon magwell? I'm really stretching for fixes here, and even if that worked perfectly, the result is a more expensive Aeon pro.
One of the guys at the last Nerf battle I went to had one of these and was letting people try it out. Got a chance to try it and it's not bad for what it is. Personally, I don't think this would be good for a HVZ until that rotation issue is fixed.

Thanks for pointing out the kinks, that's actually a big deal. 7x/10 I'm not paying attention to how I prime in battle so this could cost me a lot of performance.

Man, after knocking it out of the park with all their blasters the last couple years it seems like Dart Zone is really having issues with their releases this year! The Dart Zone Pro Mk 1.2 jams so much they should call it Smuckers, the Deuce has cylinder rotation issues, and initial reports seem to suggest the Mk 2.1 has some jamming issues as well. I'm still hopeful for the Tomcat though!

Yeah, I thought about buying this. But, after seeing this review, I'll save my money and stick with my Dart Zone Outlaw.
I REALLY hope Dart Zone fixes the feeding issues with this in a later batch. I really would like one of these but not if it isn't reliable.

The Deuce is super cool. I think it’s sick. However, for the price, if I wanted something like this I’d just buy an Aeon and some mags. I’m gonna be saving that Deuce money for a Vulcanator, now THAT is gonna be SICK
