About it costing as much as a car, a car continues to eat money at an alarming rate. Saukki that is a suggestion for a video. What does it really cost to run a car vs a velomobile.
Gasoline, maintanence, Insurance (Legal requirement in USA). Month to month expenses I think the Velomobile would win hands down, and that is before both manufacturing impact on the environment and emissions.
So 4 velomobiles comes to perhaps 32, 000 euros . A car costs that much plus insurance, fuel, MOT, tax and parking charges every year for its lifetime . Cars suck .
Seriously, almost all the cars driving on the road have only the driver in them, very seldom 3 + driver. In that sense not the most powerful arqument. But true, would be great to know the actual costs.
The total cost of owning a car is extremely high, when you include depreciation, fuel, repairs insurance, taxes, etc. An average car costs over $8,000 a year in the u.s., and a small car, like a Honda Civic costs $6,600 a year, or $552/month. Let's assume the initial purchase price of a velomobile is $9,000 and over 5 years you spend another $1,000 on repairs, then sell your used velomobile for $6,000. The total cost of ownership is $67/month. You can get the cost of car ownership down if you buy an old used car and do the repairs yourself, but it will never be as inexpensive as a velomobile.
@Aditya Wardhana so why do they not design a "family" Velomobile ? , ok maybe too wide for bike routes ? (how do you call it ) , and only on the road.. , but with extra electric assistance , must be possible..
Lovely velo. Extra space, the roof cap and visor plus the 4 wheels are immediate advantages over the 3 wheel version. I'm guessing even with the visor down, you will still get a bit wet in the rain though?
Saukki that was fantastic, my favourite so far. What a nice Qv, I'm looking forward to seeing you ride it at Nokia and your feedback on the Qv. A really nice vlog dude.
With such wide open places and beauty I can see why a Velomobile would be ideal Saukki . I like the Quad but three wheels under fiberglass or carbon looks more aero and appealing to at least my eyes . Plus you don't mess around when it comes to cameras , the Sony X3000 is one of the best as well as a tad pricey but the footage is great and stabile ..
Actually the camera is Sony X1000. The X3000 would be very nice and I sure would like to have one. But as you said, it’s quite expensive. My other camera is Sony AS200.
I live only 30 km from centre of London-- no problems - I've even ridden right through the centre of the BIG city! You just need bright colours, cameras and to maintain a lookout at all times!
I’ve ridden in and through London. Like John H, I have a 3 wheeler and a QV; greater problem is people taking pictures or video, both car users and pedestrians, as they’re so unusual 😎
I was curious to see what rims and tyres he uses. The head roof is like a big helmet; but you get good cover and wind deflection. Does it use a gas strut to support it?
great video saukki hope nikko cme home save and you a experiance with quartro velo even it is was a short on parking lot we will wait for video of nokia some time next week have fun at nokia
Hey I was recommended by a viewer on UA-cam to you, and I was wondering do you do request reviews on other Velomobiles, or are your resources limited on the Velomobile Community? Cuz I was wondering if you would do either the Iris E-Trike by Sinclair or the Velayo Velomobile, if you could that is?
Saukki, in one of your videos, I saw drums and guitar amplifiers behind you. Is the music of your videos yours? Are you the musician we listen to? Alex
I play drums and we have this dying band project with few of my friends. But the music in my videos it’s not ours. Originally I was using music from UA-cam audio library, but for few months now I have been using music made by the guitarist of our band. He is very talented musician.
Is there a differential on the rear axle, or another way to have the inside wheel in a turn roll slower? It is the weight that determines rolling resistance - if the weight is the same, then having 3 or 4 wheels won't be different.
Great side by side comparison of the two. Look forward to the video on your riding experience in the Qauttro. Thanks Saukki!
And the result of this test ride ? Your smile gave it away ! ;-)
Argh! More, more, more! The QV is of interest to me. Looking forward to hearing your opinion after a longer ride. Thanks for the alkupala.
Can't wait for a full test of yours! 👍

Great video Saukki, looking forward to seeing you next week & how you get on with it on the track.

When it’s raining you have to open the visor little bit for better visibility. Then you get some rain to your face.

I saw one of those in the streets this week
I want one, but I just don’t live in a place where they would be safe to use.
Love the channel

Jason Dubin is cruising around in Brooklyn. His videos can give you an idea how it is in a big city: ua-cam.com/users/monkeysalad

Great video, wish could test drive these human powered four wheels someday

I want one too. did you find it as easy as your quest? Maybe a little more weight? Thanks for sharing Saukki
i am glad a velomobiel is expensive , if it was cheap we had everyday a trafficjam on the bicycly path. no brainer !
great video saukki hope nikko cme home save and you a experiance with quartro velo even it is was a short on parking lot we will wait for video of nokia some time next week have fun at nokia
Que Maravilha poder passear assim...

nice moto
Does the QV have a rear differential? I didn't see one.
Kind of. It’s made out of two free wheels.
Yes, that Quattrovelo is definitely Dutch; it is shaped like a wooden shoe.
Tämähän sattui sopivasti, sillä mietin hankintaa juuri näiden mallien väliltä.
Odotan pidempää koeajoarviotasi suurella mielenkiinnolla. :)

Is there a differential on the rear axle, or another way to have the inside wheel in a turn roll slower?
It is the weight that determines rolling resistance - if the weight is the same, then having 3 or 4 wheels won't be different.
There is two free wheels at the rear axle, so it kind of has a differential. It just works little bit different than normal differential.
@@TheVelomobileChannel That makes sense.
Yes it is a car for pilots with legs.
The 4 wheeler has a mother in law seat.
Test Podbike too!
That would be interesting. It might be difficult to find for a test though.
Subtitles in portuguese, please
Bullshit !
