I really like World 3 because I always liked Snow worlds in Mario games and I think World 2 is underrated because it gets more personality later in the world.
If I am being honest I wish The Penguin Suit wouldn't let you shoot ice balls, as it meant The Ice Flower was objectively inferior to The Penguin Suit. The one thing you can do with The Ice Flower is shoot Ice Balls which The Penguin Suit can already do but with also the added benefits of allowing you to slide on the ground and swim more efficiently meaning you had no reason to choose The Ice Flower over The Penguin Suit.
I finally own a Wii again, but have yet to acquire an actual copy of NSMBW. I got stuck on World 1 as a kid, so I’m on the hunt for a copy of the game to play through the full game, now more experienced at 2D Mario. Glad to see you put out this video, keep up the great work!
Fellow Mario Forever player as well (it was actually the first videogame I ever played and my first Mario game obviously) That mention of the rising lava stage gave me a horrifying memory resurgence...(although the fast tank stage was almost as terrifying)
My ranking: 9 - World 1: Standard. Needs no explanation. 8 - World 9: I'm not a fan of special worlds. 9-4 is easily the worst level in the game, and only the overworld music puts it above last place. 7 - World 2: 2-5 is absolutely abysmal. The desert theme was caught good, but simply the annoyance of 2-Tower, 2-5, 2-1 and 2-3 made me put it so low. 6 - World 4: Water. No need to say more. 5 - World 7: 7-Tower is, aside from 1-Tower, the worst in the game. But I like the system after the tower that you have two seperate ways: One long and easy, one short, hard and rewarding. I really like 7-Castle's concept of two seperate entrances. 4 - World 3: The first part may be annoying as hell, but the second part introduces overworld switches which... doesn't fit into this world, but is great nonetheless. 3 - World 8: The best overworld music I've ever heard! And I played SMG 2! Probably the best final world you can find out there, the scary hard way to the Airship is filled with creativity. 2 - World 5: The vines blocking your path makes this the best overworld of this game. The ghost house is creative, everything's good. But why is there Lava inside a jungle castle?? 1 - World 6: Legendary overworld theme. You get to climb an actual mountain and reach the sky, world 7. You think that the Overworld's are overlapping, the path up the mountain with caves and bullet bills are great and here is probably the best tower in the game. You don't have to agree. So please respect my opinion. 👍
As a kid playing the game 75% of the time I was kinda stuck in W1 and W2, but when I finally reached W3 and the later worlds, everything just became faster and wayyyyy more cooler because I always dreamed of reaching like W6 type of stuff and When I did W8 too bro, oooooo wow still cool
Always had a soft spot for World 3 ever since I first played it as a kid, despite how much I usually dislike ice levels. The penguin suit made them more bearable, but they're not bad at all.
For awhile world 6 was always my favorite, but its really just the world map that is my favorite. In terms of levels my favorite world is probably either world 4 or world 8.
I would love to see more videos like this in the future. It's great to see some different content every once in a while rather than only mario kart. You're awesome albert! :D
New Super Mario Bros. Wii will always be my favorite game. The level design, the new powerups, the map, just EVERYTHING about it done fantastically! You can't convince me that it isn't the best Mario game (so far)!
I actually agree with your ranking of all New Super Mario Bros Wii Worlds! Here is my ranking of all New Super Mario Bros U Worlds 9. Acorn Plains 8. Layer-Cake Desert 7. Rock Candy Mines 6. Superstar Road 5. Peach’s Castle 4. Sparkling Waters 3. Meringue Clouds 2. Frosted Glacier 1. Soda Jungle
I loved this game as a childhood and have a lot of fond memories of it. My personal rankings: 9. World 6 (found most of the levels there forgettable except maybe for the sewer level, half of the levels didnt even fit the mountain theme at all though) 8. World 9 (This was a weird one for me to rank but its too much of a mixed bag for me to put higher) 7. World 7 (This is probably the most unbalanced world in terms of difficulty, some levels are way harder than anything in the previous worlds while other levels are almost World 1 difficulty, I really liked some levels and it has one of the coolest bossfights, but other levels are just completely forgettable imo) 6. World 4 (In general I dislike underwater levels but this world doesn't have too many of them, the beach levels are nice) 5. World 2 (This level had some cool mechanics but I think the difficulty spike from World 1 is rather big compared to the other NSMB games, aside from the unbalanced difficulty I think it was a decent world) 4. World 1 (I think this world deserves more credit as the first world in this game, it really has that "first world" feel and even though the levels aren't particularly special I found them all to be pretty consistent and fun) 3. World 3 (This is mostly personal bias but I absolutely love snow themed levels in games. There wasn't really any level I disliked in this entire world) 2. World 5 (This is the most unique world in the game imo, I really liked the mechanics in the levels and the theming, and I really liked all of the levels, the castle bossfight was very unique too) 1. World 8 (A perfect final world imo, all of the levels feel very intense and match the theme perfectly (Except for that one underwater level), and the final boss gave me chills as a kid.)
The boss fight against Bowser was one of the best in the super Mario bros franchise. I hope they do something similar or better in Super Mario Bros Wonder.
New Super Mario Bros. DS’s World 2 should get credit for having an Original Castle level where it takes place inside the castle at first but then takes you outside the castle just like Wii’s World 7 Fortress and Castle levels. Do you agree Albert Boris.
This tier list was very similar to my tier list. My tier list, though, had the sky world and the lava world both in first place, third was the snow world, fourth was the jungle, and then exactly how you had it after that
I really enjoyed watching the video, and I mostly agree with you. I understand how you ranked the worlds based on the points you mentioned. Here’s my ranking: 9. World 2 (I HATE SAND) 8. World 1 (too simple and plain for me, but every game needs an introduction) 7. World 9 (a very creative idea, but I’ve always thought it would be cooler to have actual levels in space) 6. World 6 (I have a love-hate relationship with this world. The music is cool but can be annoying, especially compared to the bangers from the DS and Wii U. The levels fit well, but not entirely. The final boss feels too easy, though the mid-boss is pretty cool.) 5. World 3 (Definitely the most nostalgic world for me, especially with the setting and the MUSIC... but playing it again as a big boy, I find the ice mechanics pretty annoying. It might have been better as World 4 or 5 like on the DS and Wii U. Plus, World 4 on the Wii U completely overshadows it with its beautiful nighttime setting and stunning visuals.) 4. World 4 (I love the water and beach atmosphere. The levels are solid, the boss fights are cool, and the music is great as usual. Nothing bad, but nothing outstanding either.) 3. World 7 (I’m ranking this world high mainly for the setting, music, and your points about the tower and castle. The levels, though, I find a bit lacking, and I think the DS and Wii U did it better. However, the boss fights are truly incredible!) 2. World 5 (Because it’s a jungle. I totally agree with your point about all the life in this world, and I just love the setting. The gimmicks are super fun!) 1. World 8 (Exactly what you said.)
I have been wanting to get this game again after my copy broke 4 years ago, but man I wanna get it even more now! THis is the best NSMB game in the series.
- World 1🌻: Your typical basic beginner world in a mario game - World 2🏜: Empty boring desert world - World 3❄: Ice world where the game gets challenging - World 4🌊: Underrated beach world in a mario game - World 5🌳: Fun forrest themed levels - World 6🪨: Underwhelming cannon world - World 7☁️: Cool world with each level something unique and different - World 8🌋: Epic world with epic finale - World 9⭐: Celebration! 🎊

Theming is great, levels are mostly just fine, minus some personal least favorites like 6-1 and 6-6. 5-World Five, also fitting. A great time at its best, but that doesn’t always happen. I’m mixed on the vine gimmick on the world map. 4-World Four, beginning to notice a theme here. Not too memorable , but the levels aren’t too obnoxious, which is surprising for a water level. 3-World Three, yeah, yeah. This game’s ice physics have never really bothered me. We all know that the best world in New Super Mario Bros. Wii is really... ... The multiplayer-exclusive World Coin. What could be better than trying to brutally annihilate your friends for money?
My personal rankings: #9: World 9 (some of the levels are way too hard to defeat, hence why it's so agrivating) #8: World 5 (has the most annoying boss in the entire game) #7: World 4 (nothing too terribly special about this world) #6: World 2 (nice designs, nice levels, but the castle boss here is not my favorite) #5: World 8 (a great conclusion to the story mode) #4: World 1 (a great beginning to the story mode) #3: World 3 (has a unique design, being split into two different parts) #2: World 6 (best large scale world in the entire game) #1: World 7 (best designs, best boss battles, best levels)
I have played this game to death and I was shocked how far off this list was from my own opinion, just shows how great a game is that it can spark so many varying opinions
I couldn't disagree more, or maybe not. The thing I really get annoyed about is to hear someone call the music at the final boss "perfect". I have never hated a boss soundtrack more, I even despises it more than those unnecessarily classic schooled minor key boss soundtracks in Bō - Path of The Teal Lotus. I final boss shall not sound like a russian dictators funeral, it shall be fast and stressful, why not even contains breafly atonal passages. Super Mario Bros. 3 (both graphics) had a perfekt final boss soundtrack! But also I get so annoyed by hearing the terrible castle music through out the whole world 7 and much worse, that final boss funeral, I mean soundtrack, through out world 8 were we could have the both epic and catchy lava theme.
this is, in my opinion, the best 2D mario game. The levels were creative, great power-ups. Also, around this time, the NSMB series felt fresh. love this game!
My first ever mario platformer. Multiplayer is so fun and crazy. My favorite worlds have to be worlds 7 and 8 they were awesome. My least favorite worlds would be worlds 2 and 5. Desert levels aren't that exciting for me. And world 5 is annoying to playthrough. It blocks off the levels and I can't even play 5-3 til I reach the castle since it gets blocked off. World 6 is underwhelming. World 7 has my favorite level in the whole game 7-4. World 8 is awesome, lava levels are really fun to playthrough. Sorry I skipped world 4 that world is underwhelming IMO not a bad one just underwhelming.
TBH I always hated world 2 in this game and I always thought this game was overrated . Coming off of NSMBDS, the level design in this game felt a lot more bland to me when the DS version had so much detail and great design in it's levels. I always thought the series reached its peak in the first game and went down hill from there, and don't even get me started on the nonsensically named mediocre NSMB2. I still Liked NSMBWii, but in my opinion it could have been a lot better. I will give it credit for the new gimmicks it brought to the series however.
my ranking 1 world 7 10/10 2 world 3 10/10 3 world 8 9.9/10 4 world 5 9.9/10 5 world 4 9.5/10 6 world 1 8/10 7 world 9 8/10 8 world 6 6/10 9 world 2 3/10
Wow, this video is suddenly exploding in popularity! Thanks to everyone watching it! Maybe I should make a follow-up video soon...
we love albert here
Do one for 3D World!
@@amazinhaydz2032 I'd love to do that some day!
Do one for newer super Mario bros Wii nobody ever does anything on newer super Mario
@@medlyman6513 i second this
I remember being amazed by the world map as a kid, the moving quicksand was amazing for me for some reason
It was my first Wii game!
Same, I was always infatuated with the world maps for some reason
Me too, I love them, that problem the reason that I don’t hate on world 6 that much
I love W3 and W7! Snow settings are my favorites on videogames and W7 ramps up the creativity the game was needing on some of the early worlds.
I really like World 3 because I always liked Snow worlds in Mario games and I think World 2 is underrated because it gets more personality later in the world.
The castle sucks tho, the pick the right path gimmick is irritating and makes the level so slow and annoying
One of the fastest clicks in my life
Every video he posts
When i saw your pfp, i thought that it was Mr Beast XD
Bro has the mr. beast pfp
Agreed honestly
Mr walubeast

Great ranking! You made me realize how good the music in this game is!
The boss fight against Bowser was one of the best in the super Mario bros franchise. I hope they do something similar or better in Super Mario Bros Wonder.
I really appreciate watching this since this game was just about my favorite Wii game and like to remember it
Albert Boris is so kingly
Wii added the one thing that was missing from DS: challenging post-game levels.
I wonder if I should replay this game once I get the chance
I'm shocked, I actually really love World 2, and it's one of my favorites. ESPECIALLY THE MUSIC! But, I respect your pick

Albert normally the king of hot takes but these are very cold (other then world 4 maybe but I like that world also) Good job Albert 💛
I have so much nostalgia for this
I always wanted a rollercoaster level in mario kart. That roller coaster level is too iconic for me :D
Warios Gold mine is closest to a rollercoaster in my opinion
I would love to see a desert world set in the "Lençóis Maranhenses". These are basicly wet deserts, wich is a theme I feel has so much potential!
What happened to the other video you teased on Twitter?
More information about it in this video lol!
@AlbertBoris Where was it I didn't notice it when I was watching
4:52 This is hilarious 😂
My vote prior to watching goes to World 7. It's my favorite world in the game without a doubt.
14:26 8-4 was the only level I could beat when I played this as a kid. The rest of World 8 I used Super Guide for.
You really come with every idea, huh. I like it
My ranking would probably be the exact same as this one, except world 4 would be a spot or 2 lower than it is here
I have been wanting to get this game again after my copy broke 4 years ago, but man I wanna get it even more now! THis is the best NSMB game in the series.
Now we need new super Luigi U

does anyone else just stare at the pretty color of the sky and clouds moving in world 7 castle before collecting the key?
Despite you disliking World 2 as a whole, I’m glad you at least like 2-4. I’ve never really understood the hatred for it
the volcano world in this game is my favorite world in the entire series, i'm sure super mario wonder will serve something better though
10:23, it could be worse, it could also be an auto scroller
Great job with your ranked i always hate world 6 and would 4
Here’s my ranking of every world, because why not?
9-World One. Great for beginners, but as someone who’s played this game for years, I’d just rather get it over with sooner.
8-World Nine. The difficulty is wildly inconsistent here. Levels like 9-1, 9-2, and 9-8 are easy, 9-3, 9-5, and 9-6 are challenging but doable, and I always dread 9-7 and especially 9-4.
7-World Two. The levels feel a bit slower than I prefer (I hate 2-6 and the castle in particular) but levels like 2-3 carry it up.
6-World Six, how fitting.
I also like the required secret exit in 3-4. Wish more games were designed like this…
2-World Seven. Challenging and FUN (minus 7-6). Theming is fun.
1-World Eight. Peak design (minus 8-5…I think I have something against autoscrollers) and a fantastic, memorable endgame. I always look forward to this one.

this is, in my opinion, the best 2D mario game.
I also very strongly disliked the ghost house levels!
I will give it credit for the new gimmicks it brought to the series however.
i completely agree world 6 is disappointing
Has someone ever made nsmb Wii for 3ds?

You were way too harsh about world 6
Big mario fan but what a let down the NSMB games are. Tropical freeze blows them all away.. Easily the best 2D platformer since the snes days..
