The man's a fool -Fantastic!!! To see Phil,John and Rick like this is just a tremendous sight!!!!The bands just don't play like this anymore these guys were class!!!! Rip philo
What an eclectic lot, if I didn't know any better I would have thought this was a band of Thin Lizzy, someone from the Village People, a drummer who almost looks like Keith Moon and someone from Kool and the Gang. Fits Lynott perfectly since he versatile with styles and musical genres
Phil was simply amazing . In his youth and 20's he rocked his ass off . As he aged he his songwriting started to blossom . I wish he could have lived longer cause I can only imagine what he would have created . He was starting to play with other great musicians .
Sykes is the man - playing solos in the neck position, and I dug the drummer choking up on the stick in his right hand so much. Bass player knows you can't go wrong with a Ric. Great showing with Phil playing rhythm, too!
When Phil Lynott died I was devastated. I still am. He was my Elvis. Rick, you are wonderful. Amazing musician. Of course I will check everything you put up. Big hug and love from Sweden.
The highlight of my first “business” trip to Dublin was finding the statue of Phil Lynott. He died way way way too soon but left a legacy of incomparable music.
That's a tight band, You can see the Potential Sykes had at that time few years before 87 Whitesnake Album and that's when I noticed Sykes Stellar Playing
Yes that second album was an all around really good record. The songs flowed together beautifully. The song "Together" should have been a U.S hit over here.
John is one of my all time faves..my only complaint is that he gets a little carried away with the squeals...I think Phil kept that in check (also that i wish he'd get his ass on the road again :) )
always loved Phil and Rick. Never knew what a character Wakeman was until I began seeing videos where he ad libs and shares stuff with the audience. Miss Phil a lot, but glad the Wakemeister is still with us.
Rick, allow me.....a LONG time fan from your brilliant Yes days......to state the obvious. You're a freakin' musical genius. Thanks for the amazing post. Watching you and the ridiculously under-appreciated John Sykes trading licks was a thing of beauty.
Insane song, love this gem, so cool, the beat is so catchy and Sykes solo, fabulous as usual and Ricks keyboard solo just marvellous and then the exchange between him and Sykes, breathtaking.....off course Phil is the glue that puts it all together
I saw Thin Lizzy play live twice way back when, and Phil Lynott was a great showman and a great musician. I don’t know who’s thumbed down this video but I suspect that they’re fans of Stormzy.
One of my favorite videos on UA-cam. Love the shred-fest between Rick and John at the end. But without Phil's groove it wouldn't have been as great. Perfection... all of it.
Wow, thanks for sharing Mr Wakeman. A fantastic clip, live music, quite rare these days real people playing instruments. Shame this lineup never continued.
Thanks Rick for sharing these gems. Phil is one of my heroes and John Sykes period working with him was all too short - rather like Phil's life. Who's the drummer btw?
It's a Rickenbacker, modified by Alembic to have 3 pickups each with separate outputs. Fun fact - it was later stolen, then ended up being owned and played by Lemmy!
Jerome Maurice Rimson. Played with so many greats Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin, Freddie Mercury, Phil of course, Automatic Man amongst many others. He also helped produce the song You to me are everything. Multi talented piano player, bassist, sing writer and producer and an absolutely beautiful human being. Heart as big as his talent.
Nice jam .r.i.p. Phill look like was out of it or fucked up almost at the end of the song.drummer is bad ass.guitars to .Nice pianos and organs fuck yeah !!!
The man's a fool -Fantastic!!! To see Phil,John and Rick like this is just a tremendous sight!!!!The bands just don't play like this anymore these guys were class!!!! Rip philo
Shocking to see Rick Wakeman as the on-stage keyboardist with the least mad outfit.
I miss Phil so much. And Sykes won’t release any new music. It’s such a shame.
The arrangement of this performance sounds much better than the studio version of the song.
Sykes's solos are unbelievable and can play with anyone..get back out there john......Phil would love ya too
What an eclectic lot, if I didn't know any better I would have thought this was a band of Thin Lizzy, someone from the Village People, a drummer who almost looks like Keith Moon and someone from Kool and the Gang. Fits Lynott perfectly since he versatile with styles and musical genres
Wow. Drummer is the spittin image of Moon. Good call.
It was a tv program it wasnt phil lynotts band it was the house band.. rick wakeman is on keyboards .
Phil was simply amazing . In his youth and 20's he rocked his ass off . As he aged he his songwriting started to blossom . I wish he could have lived longer cause I can only imagine what he would have created . He was starting to play with other great musicians .

I love watch it, Phil and Sykes together, the best of rock, I have 26 years old, but Their music is so special for me.
So you are my brother !
Got tae see them together in ‘82 and ‘83 , brilliant gigs 🎸✌️
And for me . Brothers of CLASSIC ROCK !
Not only is sykes incredible..but the phrasing lynot uses and rhythm parts....if listened carefully
Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott just awesome the guy was a poet he wrote some superb songs .This is a gem love it John Sykes is awesome classic
Great to see everyone jamming when Phil was still alive. Sykes guitar unreal !
I have never seen a Keyboarder and Guitarist take turns in solos....that was great! :D
Check out some old Deep Purple
listen to some yngwie malmsteen sometime....or deep purple.or rush....or van halen
you need to listen to prog. all instruments get a solo even the flute!
Wakeman and Rabin do this when playing together, whilst doing an audience excursion...
It was actually a guitarer and a keyboardist, but otherwise OK.
Wow what an arrangement this song and john skykes lead...fantastic 🤌💥⭐️
That's a tight band, You can see the Potential Sykes had at that time few years before 87 Whitesnake Album and that's when I noticed Sykes Stellar Playing
Eric Burdon, Alvin Lee and Rick Wakeman! What a line-up!
That's how you jam. Legend.
That was absolutely superb
What great talents ! Fabulous!
Tony Ashton's piano behind phil lynotts vocals and john Sykes guitar is pure gold and then Rick and John's solo at the end 🔥
PHIL was a geneous, what a legend
Yes , a genius even 👍
Can we save the world in time! Never gets old, some incredible stuff on that second solo record.
There's no doubt that Phil lived for music
Yes that second album was an all around really good record. The songs flowed together beautifully. The song "Together" should have been a U.S hit over here.
It’s a hit to me. Listen everyday 🇺🇸
Wow, that was a gem! Check out Phil's smile watching John and the keyboardist trading licks!
John is one of my all time faves..my only complaint is that he gets a little carried away with the squeals...I think Phil kept that in check (also that i wish he'd get his ass on the road again :) )
リラックスしたジョン・サイクスがいいね!

"The high must be amazing, because people die trying to get it." - Lemmy
Yes, and sadly enough, Phil was on the shit at this point of his career.
Rick, allow me.....a LONG time fan from your brilliant Yes days......to state the obvious. You're a freakin' musical genius. Thanks for the amazing post. Watching you and the ridiculously under-appreciated John Sykes trading licks was a thing of beauty.

Thumping on a Rickenbacker! Who is that bass player?
Sí la memoria no me falla, el bajista es Jerome Rimson. Saludos!
