I want to go to Ireland just because I know I would find people who love Thin Lizzy and Phil Lynott as much as me. Pure rock n roll! Phil was a Legend!
I'd never heard this song but it sounds cool. Some would say that Phil was getting commercial but he was also trying to stay up with the times. He did a great job in Thin Lizzy and is one of my heroes .
I'm a lizzy nutter but only heard this for the first time about 10yrs ago, I was choked up.. A sykes song but lizzy lynott through and through. ♥️ Miss you Philo old pal. X
When I was around 14, I bought farewell tour 83 CD at a second hand market because I knew and liked Boys are back in town. Just to fall in love with Sykes' guitar and Phil,'s vocals. Literally until the day I die.
Rockforevermusic IT'S BEEN TOO FUCKING LONG SYKES!!!!!!!!!!!! WE NEEEED MORE BADASS LICKS AND MARVELOUSLY ADAPTABLE COMPOSED SOLOS WITH THOSE PPIICCKK SSQQEEAALLSS!!!!!!!
No f***** way!!! I've known this song for like quarter of a century, by Pretty Maids. Has always been my favourite, a fantastic song. I was in Dublin, at a gig dedicated to Phil, where Gary and all the Lizzy members played, back in 2005, and had no idea that Phil had sung this song. And now, 2017, I listen to the song again by Pretty Maids live and I think, "That's funny, that guitarist is wearing a Thin Lizzy t-shirt". And the next video... is this! No way, how could I have been missing this for so long? Duh.... Still like the Pretty Maids version more, though. Better vocals, imho, and longer solo, too.
I only just found out today too, that the original was by John Sykes and Phil Lynott. Never knew it before. I saw a comment elsewhere on the Pretty Maids version saying they preferred the original, and I thought, well this *is* the original, but before replying to the comment I thought again, hang on, what if it isn't? Though I also grew up with the Pretty Maids version and that is the version I prefer. I just like the chorus sung an octave higher, just makes it work better somehow.
Ever see the polls where it asks what rock star or celebrity etc would you like to bring back in their prime Phil Lynott/Thin Lizzy should be top Underrated
One of the greatest songs ever made that no one knows about
John Sykes is the guitar player, who can really make his guitar cry in tears...this melody is just brilliant

Most underrated guitarist of all time. Easily!
he can rip it. no doubt.
Absolutely. Especially since he's so easily overlooked with Viv and Adrian in all the videos from '87.
It’s a shame ..
John is a giant
Agreed. Those were John's songs. He basically wrote the entire '87 album@@raypowers8083

It's difficult to say that Phil didn't barrow from it. I'm a Phil fan, I just heard that song.. I'm kinda surprised.

Listen to Blue Murder version! in their album dedicated to Phil Lynott, it is great.
Why didn't this become a massive hit?!?
Anyone know where I can buy this (On a CD, not from iTunes etc.)?
Sykes formed "Blue Murder" at Phi passed away. Found a live version that really kicks ass. Worth checking out. Hope you find it.
Wow, just wow! Thank you, shared & subscribed.
