- in this video you shall recognize why usa goverment banned toyota hilux
The reason you can't find a Toyota Hilux in U.S. is because of something called the 'Chicken Tax'. This tax refers to a 25% tariff that the U.S. government imposes on imported light trucks, like the Hilux, and other products such as brandy, potato starch, and dextrin.30
Is Toyota Hilux banned in the US?,
What is Hilux called in USA?,
Does USA have Toyota Hilux?,
toyota hilux import usa,
hilux vs tacoma,
why is the toyota hilux so durable,
can i buy a toyota hilux in mexico,
toyota hilux price,
toyota hilux for sale 4x4 diesel usa,
toyota hilux diesel,
new toyota hilux,
it because hilux is better than all american pick up truck
Hilux is good but I wouldn’t say better than a new Ram diesel pickup that thing is the better truck
👍
As an American I absolutely agree!
@@sdlonewolf if you got to drive one off road you would recant your post! These Hilux are far superior then a Tacoma, they are better built more heavy duty, the Tacoma you have to buy after market to beef up. I've had the opportunity in Mexico & Ireland, yes the Tacoma is the pretty boy but the Hilux is the muscle boy of Toyota!
as simple as that, i bet good amount of money for a hilux in a tug of war
hilux and land cruisers would have shut down General Motors that's why they are banned
ESPECIALLY LAND CRUISERS!
They can just build here
@@jackb1969 they won't ever build it in USA since they clearly know the demand of land cruisers is so much now in USA and since the electric cars and twin turbos came more than ever people prefer the old v8
Because bankers cannot make as much $$ off a truck that lasts your entire life.
And that's the crux of the matter. HiLux is virtually indestructible, and is engineered to last longer than its competition. The vast majority of HiLux owners upgrade to a new HiLux.
Bingo
Chicken Tax because they (US) car manufacturers were to "chicken" to admit that foreign cars were just simply "superiour" or better to say the least.
Because Toyota Hilux is small size pickup truck but better than all pickup trucks in America
Is it really small size pickup? I thought they were midsize.
If there's a truck that can monopolize the market with its quality, that's Toyota Hilux. This thing will drive even if you drove it off a cliff.
As proved in the Top Gear episode.
It's the vehicle of choice in Antarctica. That's a pretty good endorsement for reliability.
I went to Portugal. Last year when I saw the Toyota, Hlux I feel love
Yes it’s common in Middle East Too Like Dubai, Saudi, Sudan and Africa in general
@@buraqrider2076 its common in australia. mostly all people own the ute.
Hilux sw4/fortuner seen on brazil and guetamela
It’s called the chicken tax discriminatory tariff against trucks built outside USA “1964” “25%” tariff you tube videos explain it well
many in Australia
This still doesn't explain why. I mean Toyota made a whole new truck, Tacoma, for the US market. Doesn't explain why Toyota decided to build a factory and design a whole new truck. When they could have just built a factory here for the Hilux.
Not only Toyota Hilux but also Land Cruiser
Status quo. I miss the big bubble big door Yaris and echo coupes
It’s called the chicken tax a few you tube videos explain it 1964 thank “LBJ” 25% tariff on trucks manufactured outside USA
It's as simple as this: Toyota figured that the Hilux doesn't exactly suit American tastes because most American truck buyers love comfort more.
And that's what the Tacoma has over the Hilux (which was called the Toyota Pickup before) and it's been like that ever since.
Tacoma is the best selling mid-size truck in America, and the Hilux is the best selling mid-size truck anywhere else.
Americans got a special taste. The Trucks have to be more luxurious and not that utilitarian. Americans love a bulky, cartoonish and flashy design while the rest of the world like it more simple and functional.
The Hilux can tow more, got a stronger body frame and is made for daily driving on extreme terrains. And every part on the interior and exterior is made for long term reliability. Also american trucks got bigger gazoline engines wich is good for the acceleration but not for hypermiling and fuel costs. Wich is much more important in other countries.
The Western world hates competition.
As far back as I remember Toyota HILUX has been synonymous with utility, off-road and quality. If I needed something like that this is what I'd choose. Heck, I would even choose it as a family car if they didn't slam a 200% tax on top of it here in my country making it 3 times as expensive :(
“200%” TAX ??? What country do you live in ???
I went to Australia and New Zealand this past May and saw the Toyota Hilux everywhere. I really like them and I noiticed they're also sold in Mexico. I'm moving to San Diego next year and I'm tempted to buy on in Mexico!
Written Hilux… pronounced High Lux… short for High Luxury
Just another reason to not live in Canada or the USA
Australia it is or Mexico
But your still here
Mexico if you are working there.......... Mexico had rotary hatchbacks like GLC sport. Or something like that. I hate all these little sanctions on cool stuff. Really neat guns we can't get anymore too.
at least you can get a tundra there
@@salmanillustrator5540 tundra will empty your pocket like you never believe just for fuel alone.
same story for the nissan skyline way ahead of its time in the US market so they banned them haha
I want a Toyota diesel with a manual transmission.
GO TO MEXICO!!! But, they're getting pricey. Especially the high end models.
Just get out of USA
Keep in mind milage on hilux is Amazing also :)) 9-12 litres per 100 km
TPP wasn't something that would make it better. That deal would have made it so private corporations could sue local and foreign governments if they put in regulations, such as emissions or safety, that would hurt profits.
I would buy one if it were available
But i need it to say "wanker" every time i honk
I wish there were more, or really any, small trucks left. especially from JDM tho. Id kill for a tiny version of the Ridgeline, tho id not be able to afford it for some years anyway lol
Can I bring one from Mexico? Will I be able to pass inspections & have insurance cover it? I found great prices in Mexico & I avoid getting an expensive tacoma.
I found this loophole on the Internet, you can get a car in Mexico and drive it here in USA, the permit is for 6 months but before it expires you should just drive down to Mexico and come back and you'll get the 6 months automatically renewed
Compa bought a new one and lives inn L A straight from the TJ Mexico 🇲🇽
In latin America most of people drive Toyota Hilux
That's like saying you're banned from Disney World... because you can't afford to go
Its not so much that it's banned, just Toyota didn't want to pay the chicken tax and released the Tacoma for the US market instead
Recently doug demuro reviewed the latest Hilux and claimed it has the harshest ride of all pick ups, its really meant for being used and overloaded.
Best pickup you can buy. The land cruiser pickup is tougher but much more agricultural and more expensive.
Is it possible to import a Toyota hilux from usa
Google search your question or on you tube ?? A Land Rover specialty shop In Brooklyn N.Y. Owner of the shop had many Land Rover Defenders on his Lot for sale all of them were well over “25” years old 25 years old may be the magic age for being able to bring a “ HI-LUX” to the USA
Land cruiser 70 with 4.2l diesel engine - immortal car.
So.. after 3 minutes of video.. WHY? what is this clickbait
land cruiser too
I made video about land cruiser in U.S couple days ago .. you can check it out ..
It’s “Hi-lux not He-lux”
Seeing it's not available in America you should call it by its proper name ie a Ute (Utility vehicle).
Rip to all american on us can't feel how suck the hilux suspension but not the durability and good fuel consumption.
they cost about 20k. Imagine bringing that to the american market? it would destroy the market. thats why.
Pronounced HIGH lux not Hil lux
It’s because it will never be in the shop which is where dealers make money…America is all about spending money over and over, not only once!
The tacoma looks like its owned by 17 year old. Thia truck looks so mature. We always get garbage cars. Ppl have bad taste ew
Ukraine used Hilux to launch a thunder run against Russia to reclaim their land.
Hilux could be easily modified for military usage.
It's used in some 70 militaries worldwide in Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Toyota had always been on the throne. They have different types of cars for all economic and social classes and are simply more durable and generally superior in every aspect, perhaps except blowing rich people's ego.
If Hilux was allowed in the US, I know for sure it would've dominated the market long ago. It's the Corolla of pickup trucks.
Taliban use Toyota all way around, stil american cant defeat them hahahaha
Trust me you would want a Ford ranger not a hilux lol, it feel so cheap
Damn Big Chicken
No.
3 minute video, ANSWER IMMEDIATELY
another reason to detest LBJ
They are all over mexico so jealous
usa lost ww2 in so many ways
dextrin 😂
Heelux
Fortuner & Hilux Not Exist
ai voice negative rizz
Uncle Sam suck dem mada cause the hilux is the best pickup i
Man I love chicken 🍗
Misubishi 💩🤮
Trump administration??? Don't you mean Biden. He's in office right now, and a year ago.
We did get the Hilux. Its called the Tacoma and its the same shit just different design. Its equally as reliable and looks better imo than the Hilux.
It’s not banned in America, it’s still available in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, those countries belong to America
I mean United States
So... it's banned in America. The short form word used when talking about the United States of America. Which you already knew.
@@bitfreakazoid that’s USA or north of America, not America tho, America isn’t a country, it’s a continent
@@Kilzo- Correct, USA and North America are also both names used, just like shortening it all down to simply America. America is both the name for the entire continent, and also the name used for the United States of America, but you already new that.
@@bitfreakazoid the right name is United States
