Deano, i hope ur not too exhausted from this video! It w is a definate improvement. Love the gauges but 110mph is a stretch! I hope ur enjoying ur vacation!😉
The manifold on my Amazon was cracked almost all the way around the flange. Since I have a 1,6 liter engine, aftermarket manifolds/headers are not available. Had to get someone to (reluctantly) weld my manifold. Looked at a couple of used manifolds, but they also had cracks in the same area.
Looking at all the stuff on this Amazon, I would suspect someone was racing this already at one time. Oil cooler, FI head, OD, yellow paint labels on parts, it just speaks to me it was "built" at one time.
One of the most tiresome and time demanding things to do on an old car is put on a new exhaust. If I had the money I would always just hand it in to an exhaust shop. I was going to do a simple catback swap on my s60 and it took me 10 hours! The rust was everywhere and everything kept breaking and nothing would fit and when it fit it broke. Gotta say it sounded incredible at first.
loved the Flugel horn solo with the pipe.
It was my favorite part
I came here to say that
Working on something this old is like starting a fitness regime. It inevitably exposes all sorts of frailties that end up being very painful.
Thats the truth my friend!
You hit that manifold with a hammer off camera so the wife wouldn’t ask questions when the header showed up. I’ve played this game a few times lol
Man I wish i could get a good header on it
Wow! Your chronology is out of spec Dean! 🤣. Great job with the exhaust! Sounds good! Thanks for spreading joy and laughter to the community!
Its even further out of spec than we thought!
It was cracked, that was my first thought when you said you broke it.
Great video buddy!
Hey there welcome back!
⛽ pump up the volume ⛽

Thanks chucko! We’ve made it home now and are even more exhausted

That’s unfortunate. At some point a motor swap to something with parts availability seems like a good option
Great video buddy. I so can’t wait to work on my amazon again.
Me too! I seem to be extremely busy lately.
@@DeanofMachines life unfortunately buddy
Hey, what a coincidence, I have a neighbor that runs his electric power washer for about 6 hours every Saturday.
Isn't it great? Just ambient neighborhood noises all day.
Love the amazon vidz!
Hey Frongo! Thanks for sticking around!

Its possible! I wonder what cam is in it
You likely already had a crack yup. Plus 100,000 heat cycles. Plus, those things get brittle!
The back up header had a slight crack too. I didnt dare try welding it
Since it’s 2”, What makes it a sport exhaust? Is it mandrel bends and a straight through muffler?
That's a great question. It is mandrel bent so maybe that's the idea?
I got an exhaust manifold in Norway if you ever need one :=D
I appreciate that! If you could just digitize it and send it over in an email thatd be great
Felt for you on that broken manifold 😞
I was not a happy camper.
😊

Rust is probably my least favorite part about old cars.
