  • The abandoned amazon Volvo 122s finally gets some patina sauce! A little Linseed oil rub down to lock in that beautiful look!
This video is the first that I've used my new Sony ZV E-10. There's a bit of a learning curve!
    Thanks for watching!

Literally the slickest Volvo in the hood, the oil really made the patina pop! Nice work Deano!😉

If you take on the 122 commuter challenge, consider reporting on areas like loudness (decibels) , comfort/fatigue, heart rate, and reactions from other drivers (waves, beeps and/or fists & middle fingers)
Also great to see the Pegamoose on the quarter windows.

Those are great recommendations! In a normal car my commute can be anywhere from 1-2 hours each way, in the dark both ways(this time of year). The data would be interesting to see thats for sure.

Hey Dean. The car looks great after the oil application! And boy, you are vamping your filming game up! Thanks for all your efforts to make your videos funny, informative and entertaining. Always a pleasure to watch you breathing heavy in the dark ;D.

HOLY CRAP THERE ARE TWO OF YOU!
    Great cinematography! The effort shows.
Showing you some very small financial support is a no brainer. Your content is entertaining, and we all spend LOTS of money on entertainment. Plus, helping a good guy out. PLUS, I get an invite to your Webby Awards after party when you win one day. PLUS you pay for me to drive my Volvo down there when you are finally a UA-cam millionaire. I BELIEVE!

It's candy for my ears to hear your future ideas and projects, so looking forward to the No:1 comedy channel with car content.
Heads up and a bit of a caution, there's a man living in your boot!?, who can blame him?

Another fine video, sir! I've used something similar on my own Amazon from a brand called Owatrol. I'm planning to have paint work done eventually, but seems to do the trick with not making the areas worse.

I have used linseed oil on wood a lot and concrete (floor). In swedish 'kokt linolja' - suppose that is what you call boiled linseed oil. As I had a lot of the product and like the smell - albeit slow drying - I tried it on my Honda XL500 petrol tank. Glossy, thick, uneven finish which was fine. But the sort of sticky surface became ugly by time and in the end I was forced to remove it. Oh, a nightmare. Scratching, solving, rubbing... I regretted it and thinking 'why can't I just be like normal people and use clear coat?'. But this won't be an issue on an old car body that you actually want to be looking rugged and ageing, I suppose.
And: Very nice Ama! (The beauty had the same designer as the boxy 740 - Jan Wilsgaard. Who would guess that?)

Enjoyed the video, though I did have to skip a bit to fit my limited time. Suggest next time thinning the linseed oil 50/50 with paint thinner. Goes on faster, dries faster... Thanks!

This video was like a cross between the movie Pumping Iron, starring Arnold Strongandbigger and a post Apocalyptic car detailing video...I have questions. 1) Will a linseed oil coated 122 spontaneously combust during rush hour? 2) While applying the oil, did you have any sudden yearnings? 3) Do the neighbors shield their children's eyes when they drive past? Seriously, love the heady mix of sarcasm and self-deprecating humor. Keep it coming...

    • @DeanofMachines
      @DeanofMachines  6 місяців тому +1

      1. No
      2. Always
      3. The neighbors tell me they love the cars but they might be lying.
