Always used a kill switch on my old hot rod 69 Dodge Charger R/T, easy to do back then, used the emergency flasher switch in the dash so it was hidden in plain sight. Thieves, unfortunately, will never stop trying to steal other people's stuff, they get shot where I live in AZ. Just secure your stuff thoroughly........if you have a valuable car, keep it in a rear garage on the property, preferably a walled or fenced yard, and park 1 or 2 other rigs in front of the door, for example. Much better method than splicing into the back of the switch. Any thief with any knowledge will look there first. Preventing the manual pull tap to put to neutral is also key. If you use the plate that covers it they can still smash it, but it’s inconvenient for them. Use 2 different security screws and hide the bits somewhere in the car in case you need a tow. Great video.

If the thieve has cloned your key, can they still use remote start to start it despite disabling the push button start? And if you have a manual trans, which has no remote start, can they bump start with a cloned key?
No need to cut into wires. Theres a much easier way. Install a battery mounted kill switch w a remote. They wont think to look in the trunk as everyone hides them under the dash or hood. The point is to simply make it inconvenient enough they move onto another car.

It sucks that the factory doesn't have reliable theft deterrent alarms. I'd wish that I could find a Ole school alarm like back in the 80's and early 90's back when someone can walk up to the car and without touching it it warns you then it had automatic kill switches. I think they got away from that so they could make more money off you for parts and vehicles. If someone knows out there in California where to find old school alarm shops please let me know. These newer vehicles sucks no motion detectors smh. Someone can bust your windows and nothing sounds off wtf!!

The car wouldn't even go into drive, thief would jump out the car with the quickness. Probably wouldn't even attempt once they see that function not working. I guess it's too cumbersome for most owners, if you are spending 50k to 100k on these Hell Cats they are High on the list of stolen vehicles why not.

Looks like you have the electrical schematic, do you know the current rating on that hot wire for the switch? I want to add a connector in between and want to make sure it is properly rated. I am assuming it is not large, just wondering what it is.
You would obviously lose the remote start function, but couldn't people just pop out the push to start button from the ignition if they didn't want their vehicle stolen before installing the kill switch?
the thing is if you can buy a kill switch and watch a video on youtube about it then so can a thief. so what if you hide the button when they just have to find the wire you showed them....its worse if you have tons of aftermarket parts and people will target it because then they just tow it off.....

It turned out the camera fix was just a soft reboot of the U-connect system by holding down the enter button and volume button at the same time for 10 seconds.
@@Moose_RF I have a 21 TH also. So did you have to take off the cover at the bottom or the cover for the radio?
@@datboibg21
Try this link. It’s basically a tutorial on how to get to the red wire on the ignition cylinder. Sorry for reposting it.

@@Moose_RF thanks a million man!
Thanks bro just bought my hellcat 2 weeks ago. Putting that kill switch on for sure.
Great Video. Thanks. I did not know that's how they were popping the car into neutral. I'll be sure to disconnect the cable on my Challenger now
Another good idea for a kill switch is an old car style floor dimmer switch. easily mount it on the floor in your foot well, no one even knows when you're activating it. foot operated.
Your describing a floor mounted high beam switch.
Just got my SRT recently stolen definitely doing this
Have you tried getting in the car after the remote start is activated and seeing if the car can be driven away?
Another great one Khal.Especially living in NYC,need the extra protection!👍🏾
Wouldn’t thieves be able to use the remote start too? Since they program keys to them.
Revelco anti theft plugs are a pretty hefty peace of mind at an admittedly hefty price, but thatll be the direction ill be going. Closest shop that can install em is 2hrs out from where I live, but feeling its worth it for a vehicle leaving production soon
one of the best security out there no one talks about.
Tazer can be defeated in 10 mins
If the thieve has cloned your key, can they still use remote start to start it despite disabling the push button start? And if you have a manual trans, which has no remote start, can they bump start with a cloned key?
Must watch video for the Dodge Hellcat/SRT/Scat Pack/Jeep Trackhawk community.
It Hurts me to see all the tools, etc on your trunk lid...LOL
Big dawg of the srt brand ‼️🏁
No need to cut into wires. Theres a much easier way. Install a battery mounted kill switch w a remote. They wont think to look in the trunk as everyone hides them under the dash or hood. The point is to simply make it inconvenient enough they move onto another car.
I literally thought this was a kill switch for Arkansas State Troopers to put an end to their nightly pursuits. Woops.
Hope to someday see you hellcat swap a ram! Would love to do mine and watching you break it down like your other videos would be dope🤘🏼
Wouldn’t be that exciting , considering they make a ram trx (has a hellcat motor )
@@landyachtjayy I guess for people like me that like to have something built that not everyone else has.
@@landyachtjayy also the trx is all off-road based and heavy. A regular cab short bed lowered ram hellcat swap would be pretty rowdy.
@@akjason4734 I could see that
@@landyachtjayy I would love a loaded Limited Crew Cab and retain that slick street appearance. It would be essentially a SRT Hellcat 1500 as opposed to a off-road based Raptor fighter "TRX". I love the TRX but I would still prefer a modern SRT10-like rig. It's crazy how a Ram 1500 Limited can easily exceed $70k and the biggest motor is still a 5.7 when a 392 is readily available🤷🏾♂️ to say the least.
really does work I have it in my cobra worked like a charm when someone tried it and its hidden well
Kill switch use to be famous on old schools etc . I know some ppl with mopars that already have them .. dealership’s charge 1000$ to put them on for you
If a thief makes a duplicate key fob, can they press the remote start button to start the car?
Wish I had known this before October 1st when mine was stolen
Bro I dig the way you share you're expertise!!! Big ups to you!
Hey buddy, really appreciate the video and THANK YOU.... However I do not have a 'RED' wire in the (plug) switch....
That's alright but I put a viper alarm with a kill switch I love it never had a problem that kill switch they can have time find it
Always buy two keys keep one in home safe and disable key reprogram...if u can buy the car a 2nd key is cheap to u
After installing your Killswitch, did you ever have performance issues?
Wish I had seen this a month back. A kid in DFW is going around and stealing Jeeps this way. Got mine.
How many amps run through the start stop button? To install a kill switch breaking the push start button how many amps does the switch need to be able to handle?
So they break your window, program the key fob then remote start the car to get moving?
i think the get the signal from the key its self, could taking the battery in out in the key stop that? and they also use the natural gear hidden in the console but covering that can easily stop that.
this is the most useful money saving video on your channel so far, thanks
Yea a kill switch is a good idea but the most common way these cars are getting stolen is the neutral stick under the center console
Is the process and location for the wire the same for Jeep srt wk2???
Just curious, if your wireless remote start still works, and they can program a keyfob wouldnt their remote start on the new keyfob then work for them?
Khal is a beast! Eventually hope you do the magnum that would be a crazy swap, I know & have seen some on other channels but they don't seem to put a lot into the builds, like how you swap from the motor down to the wheel structure & interior. I have a magnum unfortunately it's just sitting , have gotten offers for it but waiting on the day when I could put some money into these builds! Keep up the good work & much success!!
Had the Mexicans in downtown LA install one in my Camaro behind the rear seat. Very hidden. My car is a 6 speed so no remote start
Great video, good information. like a lot of youtubers though the music and intro volume is way different than the commentary , i wish youtubers would figure this out in editing and get the sound portion of their videos even. im at home watching this and its late and i have to keep running the volume up and down. so aggerating.
So they can start the car remotely after they program the key so the switch will not work
It sucks that the factory doesn't have reliable theft deterrent alarms.
Theives know about kills switches and will try to find them.
i take my steering wheel inside after I drive, but I do have a kill switch in the bay. I would have Atleast 2 if you’re really worried.
Sad Dodge Owners are having to do this.
So all you do is connect red and ground wire for the kill switch to work?
maybe take the handle off of the neutral lever.. that would mess up a thiefs mind,,, make a special tool that u could keep in the trunk to operate the release.
Khal could you PLEASE help find the proper wire for this install on a 2021 GMC SIERRA 1500 Duramax. this set up is amazing and id love to do it on my truck.
This is great to have on the Challenger and Charger. Especially on the more expensive models. But I don't understand, people just should buy a brake lock.
What is a brake lock ?
@@eurospeed4532 instead of a club on steering wheel its a club u put on ur brake pedal and for manual u put on your clutch..so when someone gets in ur car they cant press on the brake to push the start button..i had on both my challengers will be getting one again..the regular steering wheel lock wouldnt go on my steering wheel..it didnt work on my blazer it kept brake pedal pushed in which kept brake light on and drained my battery when i was out of town..i then loosely put it on and u were then able to push on pedal and start the car
Button has 2 "T's" that are pronounced. Butt•ton. Not buh•en.
Great but where did you put the kill switch?
Can you talk about good trackers for them?
Will this work on a 14 JGC SRT? If so are the color codes the same. TIA. Outstanding video.
That takes time though
I want to replace my 5.7L with a Redeye engine. I have the donor engine. Anything I have to look for in ternms of complilancy with the PCM etc ? DO I need a Hellcat PCM? Anything I have to know about the way the pumbing works with the chiller?
Get the IGLA pincode system and you’ll be good no cutting no switches
Khal question! I did the same to my challenger SRT392. But my red wire has a really small brown stripe. No biggie it still works. The thing I have found is now I’m getting a message (service keyless system). The kill switch works no problem, remote start works no problem. Just getting this message. Did your charger get the same? And it shouldn’t matter what side of the switch is in or out. I used the same switch as you from Amazon. PS, car has never given me this message, till I did the switch. Any ideas?
Can you make a video, showing how to disable the neutral cable because I tried to do it myself and messed up my car
Hi khal, Im thinking of doing this but I'm wondering if it blocks key reprogrammer that thieves are using? if they reprogram a Key, will they be able to start the car?
Is there another spot to tap in besides in the front of the car? Possibly in the trunk area?
Question, switch has a red and black wire, you connect the red to red and what do you connect the black to?
Trying To Get In Touch With You Boss Tryna Get A 300 Cat Swap
Can you do a video on the programming of the remote to kill switch
Any clue if the wiring on the starter button would be the same on a 2022 Ram 3500?
What about wiring to a fuse? Under the hood? That’s the easiest
Hi, Khal...would a magnetic reed switch work in this application or would the car stop running once the magnet is not by the switch after starting? Would you have to use the magnet at the switch again to shut the car off?
