Something that's definitely good to know about since no one has ever heard of or seen this device, this device can pose a big threat to all kinds of automobiles.
If someone wants your car, with or without the OBD2 and USB locking devices, they'll get it or make your life hell with repairs for the next few months. I have 3 hidden kill switches on my SRT 392 Durango and they need to be all turned on or it blows the starter fuse when you try to start the car. I came out of work one day to someone looking into my car but they ran off. A week later they came back only minutes after I went inside the office and attempted to steal it. Our cameras show he was in my car for over 30 minutes and left empty handed. I found out when I came out to my Durango with the back small corner window punched out and all my doors unlocked, to see all my seats, headliner, touchscreen, steering wheel, wiring, and dash carved up with a razorblade and the interior smelling like someone pissed all over. They found 1 of the kill switches but not the other 2. When the cops arrived they said that's extremely common when thieves can't get away with the car that they will destroy it instead. My car spent 9 months in the shop getting fixed (whole different story ...) before the insurance company (State Farm) finally decided to consider it totaled. It would have been easier to let them steal it.
I have a 2015 Scat Pack Charger that is fairly customized and I often think about your exact scenario. I am sorry you have had to endure all that. I love my car, but I have good insurance and a low $500 deductible for a reason. If it gets stolen, I just want to get paid out by insurance and never see it again. I have gone back and forth about going through the effort of applying all these security controls or just let whatever happens, happen. I think I have settled on just hoping I never see the car again if it gets stolen. I have had it for almost 9 years and would be OK with moving on to something different, anyway. I am 55 years old and I have owned this car longer than any other.
@jmcates1120 Yeah, I feel the same. I want to get a scat, but im hesitant. Had the v6 charger awd and wanted to level up but afraid of theft. I have a garage but afraid one day I'll run an errand and someone will try to steal it or won't be able to so they'll bust all the windows or do something crazy. You might as well just not even try to make it difficult for them because they'll panic and destroy your car anyway in the process, then you're stuck with it messed up. So yeah, I'm going back and forth on a daytona scat or mustang dark horse. Haven't seen any thefts with the new Mustangs lbs

Get the RF lockout! No keys can be programmed, period ...unless they bring a new/used PCM and swap it out ...that takes much more time and doesn't always work. I didn't know there was such a vulnerability with Dodge/Chrysler. I've been looking to get a challenger RT 6spd but after this video I don't think I should. Beside the ease of it getting stolen, seems like it will be targeted simply because it's out there that it's easy to steal. I imagine the insurance rates for these cars must be even higher than comparable cars if that's the case.
“Don’t be lame.” Love your comment rules bro 😂 Anyways my dad’s brand new Durango got stolen right out of the hotel parking lot just a few days ago. Shame on dodge… didn’t think we would have to be putting our own GPS and killswitch in it.
From what OP said it just tricks the system so the car starts right up. It’s not making a new key on the spot like the other way. Plus he said it works with all current dodge updates installed as well. Just some scary ish really

Late to this video but this is exactly why anyone with a Challenger/Charger or just any Mopar really needs to invest in a Z automotive Tazer, it locks your car down from shit like this and makes writing keys impossible, especially if you hardwire the tazer into a new OBD2 port that you can hide deep in the under padding of the car. Tons of other security settings you can utilize to like having the gas pedal completely disabled until you enter a pin when the vehicle starts and failure to do so raises the alarm, or having all 4 breaks locked until pin is entered etc. Z automotive Tazer, not a sponsor but that thing is truly the device to have for security.

It is easy to stop them. If you don't know my disarm code the car will lock down. Brakes locked at and module gas pedal disabled horn blowing even if you copy the key fob. If you find the system and unplug it still stays locked. It can be hidden in lots of places.

It's not perfect but does make a car harder to steal with more steps and most thieves will skip to the next car.
What about if the car has had the RF lockdown procedure done by Dodge? That is supposed to make it so no more keys can ever be made and also the keys programmed cannot be deleted
That's what I'm wondering too. I had that key fob module locked by the dealership where no other keys can be made for the car.
@@Ryan-ds2wx I did the same.
@@Ryan-ds2wx any details on this because I have a mobile ADAS calibration business and I use WITECH-2 all the time for adas calibrations for FCA cars, so I’m in their software all the time and haven’t ran across doing that key lock out and I own a hellcat so I’m going to do it now that I seen your comment
@@alfspacealiencateater4786 I actually got a letter in the mail from Dodge saying my car could have that security feature done. From what I gather, Dodge did not offer this to every single Dodge owner out there, I think it's only certain models and years. Mine is a 2019 Scat Pack. I would call whoever your local dealership is and ask. I might have a copy of my letter, if I can find it, I can give you some more details on the exact wording they used.
@@Ryan-ds2wx thanks I’ll call my local dealership and ask
Where do i get a food stamp phone??
Just wait till everyone has electric vehicles it’s going to get worse
they tried to get mine 2 months ago. had a kill switch & air tags in it. they put in in neutral & pushed it a mile away to work on it in seclusion. they couldn't make a new key or start it so they got angry & broke all my windows, pulled all my fuses & scratched it up. I located it 6hrs later using the dodge app. the recall I did to marry my key/ starter system to the car was a priceless upgrade. no new keys can be made. even from dodge.
The new method by passes the need for a key
@@TKsGarageno it doesn’t cus if it did they wuld have gotten mine by now yea they can push it but u have to get the neutral cover lock so they can’t pull the neutral release those two things and a engine kill switch is all u need and the engine kill switch is extra really only need the first two
Exactly why I completely removed my odb2 port. Cut the wires off flush with the firewall.
Yep
That’s just crazy. We need to come up with better security and robust.
Can you take the fuse out supplying the USB ports? Or own a clunker with an old 1 like me.
Good post. Please reply if you find the answer.

“Don’t be lame.” Love your comment rules bro 😂
Anyways my dad’s brand new Durango got stolen right out of the hotel parking lot just a few days ago. Shame on dodge… didn’t think we would have to be putting our own GPS and killswitch in it.
My '23 Scat has had the software programmed so that no copy can be made of my Fobs......does that defeat this method?
You kno what I’m bout to selling my wide body hellcat charger and challenger and by a Toyota this shh getting outta hand
So, it's making a spare key. This can be prevented with the fix from Dodge that locks the system from making new keys.
From what OP said it just tricks the system so the car starts right up. It’s not making a new key on the spot like the other way. Plus he said it works with all current dodge updates installed as well. Just some scary ish really
What’s that app called anybody know?
Mine got stolen 2 weeks ago.... Chrysler dealership said system is irrepairable... workhard for my charger 2013 now.. Its salvage car. hopefully my insurance give me good deal 2013 RT with 40k mileage... those thieves whew! Karma is real!
Always here to support your channel 🤗❤️
The first thing I do when I buy this car is removed those ports until I can get all of my security set up below
How about just popping out a few relays , Starter and a couple more ?
If the RF module lockout prevents even the dealership from making new key fobs, I doubt this new hack makes any difference... but I could be wrong🤔
Yea I did a lockout and LOST my key fob I had two locksmiths come and they couldn't even make a new key...had to get a brand new hub ...so I think this may not do much. Again get locks steel locks

Do you know how useful this would’ve been !! About a month ago when I lost my keys if I had this I could make so much money programming keys for people 😡

I’d relocate the ECU to somewhere that’s easy to unplug when you leave your car, like the aftermarket radios from the 1980s. Thief would have to have the exact right ECU with him, even before programming to the vehicle.
I had my computer locked at the dealer. No way to make a copy of my keys. Have to buy new keys and computer modules is I lose them. Already save me once from robbers.
That's why a had dodge lock my module for free. No key can be made. If I lose my FOBs, I'll have to pay to replace the module under/behind the dash, but at least criminals can't code a key to it.
Not anymore. Just did a video on this at Sema they have new programmers that get past that
Why can’t we go back to old keys? Yes they can hot wire but not everyone knows how to hot wire.
Where can I buy it?
“Food stamp android phone” 😂 hilarious
How about a viper alarm
How much extra is your insurance because you have a commonly stolen car
Love your hat...been I Patriots fan for years (50 years) and I was born and raised in Rhode Island but now I live in Miami.
There is an update available from dodge that locks the keys to the RFH for SRT vehicles. Unable to then program a new key.
How much and where
At dodge and where I am it cost 650 total because I had a third key made one I do it nobody not even dodge will b able to make a new key so it’s smart to have extra
I have never been happier to have a 2016 Challenger rather than 2017 when they introduced Apple and Android auto. I am still going to take more steps to preventing theft though, just bought 3rd party GPS, and "THE CLUB", along with the Faraday FOB holder! Thanks for all the info, yikes!!!

It is easy to stop them. If you don't know my disarm code the car will lock down. Brakes locked at and module gas pedal disabled horn blowing even if you copy the key fob. If you find the system and unplug it still stays locked. It can be hidden in lots of places.
