Just an update: I updated the tazer and put this into my 2019 Scat. Works flawlessly. Thank you for the heads up on this!
Does yours still accelerate a little then brake and reverse still works?
On mine it does brake but still let’s the car drive but brakes every 3 secs and reverse works still
But it doesn’t matter because the video shows you how to get around the tazer and steal your car just takes them 10 extra minutes
Absolutely should have the horn blowing like crazy. The lights are good but the horn brings attention to it.
Yes we do idea yes you need or that yes
The horn has been added to the latest firmware and it’s random beeps which definitely catches peoples attention 👍
@@WorkPlayDrivethank god
It's insane to me that Dodge hasn't done anything about the thefts... Will be looking into this for sure, thanks man 🙏🏾
Well, it could be worse 😂 we could be in the same boat as all the KIAs where you can use an iPhone charger to start the car and there is a TikTok challenge to steal them.
@@WorkPlayDrive That's crazy as hell too! Can't have anything nowadays.
If you know you know, but they do have a solution. Get the system update to lock out programming keys
@@WorkPlayDrive Just got my Kia stolen too. Damn!
For what they just showed how to prevent the theft in this video and at the same time showed the thief how to avoid the tazer and steal your car🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
What happens when you remote start your car? Does the countdown w/flashers start when remote started, when a door is opened, when the Start button is pressed, or when?
No impact to remote start, the current functionality starts when you hit the start button.
Thanks for the info. I was just about to sell my Tazer...glad I didn't. This added feature really makes the Tazer worth it.
Yes sir, The fun of a light show may fade, but the joy of not having someone steal your car lasts forever ;)
Haha had a fun time getting it inspected. I realized as I got in to go there that I would have to shut off the PIN Lock first. No problem, there's usually a bit of a wait. Well, I guess very few others wanted to spend their Friday before Christmas at the DMV so I got right in. I tried to explain to the person about the code and not surprisingly they weren't overly happy.
Their ire was then shifted to the person behind me in a commercial vehicle who needed to go to the commercial lanes instead. While they were dealing with that I tried to go through the disable process but couldn't remember offhand how to get into the menu to begin with. When they came back they told me to just leave the car running which I did.
Moments later all the lights are flashing and it turns out I forgot to take the key fob out and still had it in my pocket. So I had to go back to the car, give them the fob, and reach through the window to enter the code.
Despite all that, I did pass 😀
Actually just now thinking of it I could have just unplugged it, right?
Yes but the next firmware version will have some added features.
My last inspection I got a 20 minute lecture from the tech about how I shouldn’t keep my insurance cards connected. (2 cards on 1 page). 😂😂😂
Another excellent video Mike! Very well done as always. I'll definitely be doing the update to my TaZer as soon as it's available.
This is awesome, and something Dodge should have come out with years ago. IGLA System works in the same fashion, using a 6-20 push (pin) code setting. Without the correct pin code the thief will not have access to the vehicle's control system, rendering the vehicle completely locked. Thieves will not be able to program new key fobs either. In fact, neither will the dealerships. Only downside to this system is you would have to tow the vehicle back to the installer and he will have to do a reset for you, which will probably cost more money. I'm guessing the higher pin code setting you have, the greater probability there is of forgetting the code. Install price for IGLA System is $1500.00
Also comes with a drone (real time) tracking system. Carjacking function works the same as Z taser's, but you will have to disable the vehicle off of your phone (app) once the vehicle comes to a complete stop. I'm guessing dodge's new ev's will not allow any third party functions to work with the vehicle, strong arming customers to pay top dollar for modofications 😠
As always, excellent info and video. I'll keep an eye out for the upgrade from Z Automotive.
Igla is hands down the best on the market
@@criminalscumx Facts 💯
So... what happens if there is a car jacking scenario... and said car jackers pull off.... 30 secs later the shut down occurs..... and lets assume they are aware that this happened due to a tazer device.... so whats stopping them from getting under the dash and unplugging the tazer security module? will the lock out still be in effect? or will that disable the tazer security features and allow them to keep going?
Nothing is stopping them, except time.
All the lights are flashing and soon they will add a horn alert option to draw more attention.
they will need to find where I hid it and cut out all the Zip ties and Tessa tape I used to secure it up in my dashboard. 😏
You can also get the double bypass harness (which is required for 2018+ models) and install the tazer in the trunk. Time is everything to these people, it's not about stopping them but making it take too long for their comfort.
I know it may be a silly question, but here goes; i have the Tazer in my 2016 Ram 1500 Crewcab Bighorn 4x4 & i'm just curious if the pin lock option is available for it ?!
Is the pin lock a live setting ? Or we can actually remove the tazer and it will still work ?
So what happens when someone reaches down and unplugs the Taser? Do the security features still work? If not thats useless.
With any security device the install should be hidden not just plugged into the OEM location.
But if you just plug it in they have added accelerator disable where the accelerator remains disabled even when the Tazer is removed. You need to reinstall the Tazer and enter the PIN to enable.
@@WorkPlayDrive kool thanx
@@WorkPlayDrive ANY car thief who knows or assumes u have a Taser up under there isnt gonna stop them cause u tucked the wires up under the dash they will just reach up there and find it.
This needs the double bypass like the Challenger has so it can be hidden in the trunk. Why is that not offered for the Trackhawk?
I saw this was asked but just wanted more clarification.
6MT once the start button is pressed and Challenger is started the countdown starts. The thief can put in gear at this point and start driving but when the brake pedal is pressed it locks up the brakes? But not till the brake is pressed? That should happen when the clutch is pressed!
Also I heard the remote start is bricking auto challengers and chargers.. had this been fixed?
As soon as you try to put the car in gear it locks instantly and with the new update it disables the gas pedal. With the manual it locks when you hit the brakes.
I’m not sure 🤔 of the issue but they released an update you may want to check the groups for that one.
This feature alone is worth the price of the Tazer and bypass. For more pin code options I would suggest getting the Stealth Aux buttons!
Hi Mike. Great video. Just picked up a 2023 Ram. Any idea when this will be compatible with new Rams?
You can email them directly I’m sure if it’s not already working they’re actively working on it.
Hi Mike, thanks for the video. Can I use it on my lexus RX 350 2022? Please let me know as the thieves already attempted to steal it. Much appreciated
Sorry this product is made for dodge, jeep and ram.
You have done segments for Tazer and Car Lock, so I have to ask , if someone can only afford one, which one would suggest?
The Tazer will keep your car from moving if someone wants to steal it (without a tow rig) and has a higher up front cost.
The CarLock will tell you when your car is being tampered with and also tell you it’s real-time location. It has a low upfront cost but has a monthly service fee.
It depends on what’s important to you. If I could have only 1 the CarLock is the direction I would go. I love the silent tracking, driving alerts, driving logs etc.
Ok so its 4-6 pin actions i can program. Nice. All uour video’s are great. I appreciate it. Do you recommend obd port cover and neutral cover still?
Neautal pull cover will also help on the challengers and chargers to block from bump theft
Hey man, quick question. What will happen if thief unplug the tazer. Are they going able to take the truck? I'm they are already know about these stuff.
Being a live setting, pulling the tazer out would make it useless right? All the more reason to add the double bypass in the trunk even if you don't need it and hide the tazer!
For now yes pulling the Tazer will disable which is why they recommend hiding it.
The horn needs to come on and is there a feature to put a loud siren in it?
The horn is now an option to enable in the lates firmware and it’s annoying 👍 they went with random long and short beeps. It definitely gets people looking when I forget .
@@WorkPlayDrive Good deal...beep beep!
When I worked in a Chrysler dealership and I think 18 or 19 newer charger challenger etc. Have the factory option for limp mode when stolen. You use the uconnect app for 392 srt hellcat cars for theft prevention. But I want to know if the the device will still work if it gets unplugged or disconnected from the vehicle
I had some bad experience with UConnect so I use CarLock for alerting me and locating my cars in real time. And now the Tazer for disabling it.
At the moment if you disconnect it removes the feature. But stay turned in the next few weeks there are some cool features coming in a Free update 🤫
@@WorkPlayDrive thanks and will do. My other question is that will it still work for the manual transmission for car jack mode or if it'll Still lock up and use the ABS. I'd say yes because of linelock
All set up and it works great! The only thing is I don't get the "buzzkill" sound; it just locks down silently. Still just as effective
Nice! There’s some cool updates coming to this feature very soon. Can’t wait to start testing them out.
Is it possible to fully disable the lock?? I bought one n didn’t know abt the lock n went to drive n it locked my trans from going into gear. Fixed it haven’t used since, tryna figure out is possible to keep it fully off ??? Helllpppp!!😂
In the video I show how to remove the pin at 9:13
Since a Charger and Challenger don't have an e-brake, what stops the vehicle? Is it the ABS as I read in another comment?
E-Brake wasn’t good enough, we kick on the ABS pump and lock all 4 wheels with max pressure so there is no way you’re going anywhere.
@@joezizzadoro7628 when I cycle the ABS to bleed the module it makes a rapid fire solenoid noise. I'd think that takes a lot of power and isn't designed to hold for more than a few seconds. Do you keep it pumping the brakes indefinitely?
Thank you for the informative video! Not sure if it is a coding error or not but I found that when I press my stereo mute button twice it turns on my backup camera?? Did not see this as a feature so might be a coding error. I have also found since the install of my Jeep JLU 2021 Wrangler Rubicon Tazer JL Mini that at times when I use my door handle button to lock the vehicle sometimes everything does not shut down (Dash, shifter gear lights and??) that it drains my battery overnight. Has happened 3 times since the install of the Tazer JL Mini. Just an FYI if you talk with them.
My recommendation is to contact support. There might be something different about your specific Jeep that needs to be coded.
There should be an option to turn off the mute button function I can’t see the manual at the moment. but it should be in there
Thanks man. I’m putting this on my hellcat this weekend
💪
Finally I see a reason to get one. Thanks for sharing
You bet
Someone on another video made a comment that when the start stop system engages, you have to re-enter the code every time - is this true? They mentioned to avoid this they have to disengage the start stop every time…. If this is true this isn’t feasible for 4XE owners because the car start/stops regularly.
They are aware of the start stop bug and are working on a solution
For now as a work around You can disable the start stop function with a taser, and it will remember it each time you start the vehicle.
Is there any way to make this work on a 2018 Ram or are you guys looking into it at all? Just got Tazer Ram and looking for the extra security features like the video above. Great video and features for sure but hopefully this can be set up for my truck in the future if not already. Thanks and FYI found you on TikTok and you have opened my truck to new options I never knew was out there.
awesome. They are perfecting the Tazer and the DT but the older models require different development. Then best way is to follow zAutomotive to track their updates.
which product to i pick for a 2016 challenger hell cat ? i need to install this asap, and will it be the same process ?
Great video..... definitely hope they can eventually come up with a auto shut down if the tazer is removed..... also kinda cringed when I seen you put the way to disable the code..... most thrives are right inside our Mopar community...... take that part out bro
The best part about zAutomotive is they are always improving based on feedback.
Give it a few weeks and they will make it even better
"wait ten mins" what a deal breaker since thieves see this too!
should be a reset code sent to the registered owners phone
Sure but sitting in the vehicle for 10 minutes while the horn is beeping and the lights are flashing makes it much more difficult (new functionality added with the latest release.)
@@WorkPlayDrive does your link bring me to the newest version? id like to buy one. thanks.
My link brings you to the site where you can purchase one. When you receive it that same site will have a firmware upgrade for the latest version. Firmware and feature updates have always been free.
I get the same features on the Tazer I got in 2015 as I do on the one I picked up this year.
Hello Mike, first of all great videos. Now my question is there a Tazr option for the 2012 Dodge Challenger?
Thank you, The Tazer supports 2011-2023 Dodge Charger 💪
@@WorkPlayDrive Thank you so very much.
@@WorkPlayDrive Just wish it would support the 2012 Dodge Challenger RT
I just bought the Carlock device and the power cable to hide it inside the trunk of my 2022 Dodge Charger GT. I know you have a vid where you installed it in the trunk of your Challenger. Can you tell me what fuse you tapped into? Or did you just add an inline fuse? and if so, what amp fuse did you use?
CarLock would work with a 5 amp fuse. In the challenger I used the ZAutomotive taser double bypass. The CarLock only needs the power and ground which I show in this video.
ua-cam.com/video/1cESLOCkgbY/v-deo.htmlsi=-7gwO49HjoVsfjhk
Thanks. Your vids are very well done and will no doubt be very useful in assisting me with my installs this weekend. I went on a bit of an upgrade spree and ordered the Carlock, Tazer with the Double By-pass and the Aux buttons, and the Hupejos V8 Plus 4 channel dashcam with the Radar Detection kit. Everything arrives by this Saturday so a I'm looking forward to the installs this weekend.
Carlock customer support stated the device included an internal fuse so no inline fuse was necessary and that the power cable adapter could be wired directly to the positive and negative battery terminals.
Do you see any issues with me doing that?
What if I own 2 jeep wrangler JL’s - do I have to buy 2 of them or can I use the one Tazer I purchased for both of my vehicles ?????
You need to have one taser for each vehicle. Unless you only drive one at a time and are willing to switch the tazer back-and-forth between the vehicles when you need access to the features.
Haven't seen anyone ask yet if/how this works on a manual. I have a 2021 widebody scat with the 6 speed.
Seeing as there's obviously no "switch to drive" (PRND), under what scenario do the brakes lock up?
Simply trying to release the clutch in first prior to inputting the pin? This would obviously force a stall; so then what happens in the Tazer's brain when the Challenger stalls?
Looking to buy one of these and just curious.
Appreciate the video Mike!
Thank you, with a manual it triggers when you hit the brake. 👍
Hi...not exactly on topic but I remember that you had a video where you mentioned the name of the cloth tape used on wiring. I'll never be able to find the vid...if you get the time can you tell me what the tape is called. Thanks
It goes by a few names but “Tesa tape” is how I find it amzn.to/3OZ35Av
@@WorkPlayDrive Thank you.
Promoted this video (on FB) about this great LOCK OUT Find ! Thxs Bro. From NY/CO.
Thank you 💪
Could one use buttons other than steering wheel buttons?, so lets say for my case 2023 durango hellcat could i do a combination of cruise control and lets say hvac buttons?
That actually looks like a legitimate option, thank you.
So this is an update to the Tazer itself or another add on device?
This is an upgrade to your existing Tazer. Even works on the Tazer I purchased back in 2016
@@WorkPlayDrive Awesome!
That video at the very beginning, it is how my Hellcat was stolen 😂
Sorry 🥲
@@WorkPlayDrive No worries! I got another one! It’s good you’re making these videos on how to protect your mopar from being stolen. Very helpful stuff! I didn’t think it can happen to, until they took it from me. I installed IGLA, it’s a PIN code as well, but it doesn’t let you start the car until you entered the PIN code.
Can you use 1 tazer to put this on multiple vehicles of yours or do you have to leave it plugged in and buy another tazer for another car?
You can change the tazer from one vehicle to another. You just can’t use it on multiple vehicles at the same. So any features that you were using need to be disabled. The taser needs to be unmarried, and then you can use it on another vehicle.
I am guessing this does not lock the vehicle out of neutral? So they could turn it off then back on shift to N then roll it off?
This locks the brakes and the latest update will disable the accelerator as well. You can turn it off and on as much as you want. You’re not going anywhere.
Do you have to leave the Tazer hooked up to the car in order to utilize these new features? I have an OLD Tazer, (circa 2017) and I set the track options and screens and such that I liked, then I set the car to it and took it out to leave at home. The car still maintains the features I enabled with the Tazer though, will it work that way now or does it need to be hooked to the OBD2 to work (like with the line lock feature)? I HATE leaving anything hooked up, especially to the obvious OBD2 port, maybe Z automotive can work on that if that is the case?
The Tazer needs to be connected for these live features to work. If you’re worried about having it in the OBD port check out their double bypass. ua-cam.com/video/1cESLOCkgbY/v-deo.html
@@WorkPlayDrive you're the only person who ever helps with this thing so I appreciate it. I got the bypass and attempted to download the ZPU onto my pc (this pc never had it before) and I can NOT get it to even run or open, so I can't update my Tazer to use the bypass I just bought. I keep getting a pop up saying "an ap on your pc needs the following windows feature" then it lists nothing and won't highlight the option to "install feature" as none it there .. how am I supposed to make this work. I absolutely HATE these new updated programs, the old ZPU worked on my old pc just fine.. why won't this one work on my new one?
Do you have access to a other computer? Perhaps there is something wrong or outdated on your PC?
@@WorkPlayDrive I was able to get in contact with z automotive, thankfully I was able to update on another pc. Unfortunately this will forever be a problem going forward unless they make a fix on their end, apparently you must have an activated windows account, which is complete BS with today's windows OS and their TRASH subscription accounts
This was a great demonstration. Looking now to buy the product.
Thank you
That's cool..my semi truck has the same thing takes a code to unlock the ignition
Ok now what happens if the module is the first thing a thief would look for? What happens if they unplug it and toss it and plug in the original equipment.
Here for this exact comment. You can hide it…but These thieves are obviously smart. Won’t be long before this device becomes useless.
Good question.
I will answer your question. This TAZER is useless if the thief can just unplug it and throw it out the window. That's why he didn't reply to your comment or like this post. Buy the real pin code alarm that the Tazer is trying to copy. The real pin code alarm cant be thrown out of the window like the Tazer.
@@roycestandard6153 If they really want your vehicle, they will get it regardless of any anti-theft device. Most of the POS who steal cars just want to get in and go, they are not going to want to search for stuff. If installed up and out of the way, it should provide some protections. Unfortunately, the thieves targeting Scat Pack, Hellcats and TRX are probably all too familiar with a Tazer or any other device.
@@roycestandard6153which one is that? “Real PIN code “ alarm?
Also posted this question on your Facebook page. Any idea whether this feature will come to the Burnboxes as well?
You probably should ask them directly but considering the Burn box is the lower cost feature lite alternative. I’m assuming you have to buy the full featured taser to get this option.
How can I find the discount link to purchase ?
I’ve got a link to everything at its lowest price in the description below. Zautomotive offers additional discounts to military, but you have to contact them directly for that.
Question: Does it lock the manual parking brake or the foot pedal wheel brakes?
It applies the front brakes using the mater cylinder it does not use the parking brake
So curious I have a 15 hellcat challenger and if I use the obd2 connector instead of the trunk for security does it always have to be plugged in or do I plug it in and load it to the car and take it back out don’t know but I’m thinking it may be in the way if it has to stay plugged in
For this function of work, it always has to be plugged in. You can grab a OBD two right angle cable to tuck it up in the dashboard.
👉 amzn.to/4000MQR
But keeping it in the trunk hidden is the best bet for security purposes
Thinking about buying one for my 2015 hellcat.
Awesome! Looking forward to the Challenger update
Cliff 🙌👋
when will it be out? any clue?
I'd like to know more bro because in phoenix, AZ they stealing all Mopar cars like crazy! How do I get this product and where do I find it at??? Please let me know
I got links to everything in the description of this video. 👍
Will this work with a 2023 chrysler 300? The anti theft feature? You mentioned all the other brands
What if you're carjacked, pulled out of your car and the key fob is still inside?
The thief will have no issues driving away since there is no way for the system to know you are not in the car.
However when they start the car again they will need to enter the PIN code
@@WorkPlayDrive it sounds like in that scenario you would at least need to turn the car off even if the fob is Left behind they would have to enter the code before they can leave
I wanted to buy a taser for the wife’s Ram but couldn’t justify the cost as she has no interest in any of the features. Now that this will be available I will be getting one. Any idea if the the Hellcat burn box will get this update?
You may want to check with them. The Burn box is a feature limited product so I’m thinking they are only adding this to the full features Tazer.
@@WorkPlayDrive I’ll check with them. Thanks
Cool. I like this. Can you please tell them to fix the unamrry page on the website. I would greatly appreciate it.
So once the pin is set can I take the tazer off? Or does it have to stay plugged in for the pin to work?
This is a live feature controlled by the Tazer, the Tazer needs to be plugged in and preferably hidden.
Dang it! I will need to buy another Tazer again haha.
I have a Redeye and hate walking away from it in some areas.
Your son is growing like a weed since your older Challenger videos.
Yeah, he’s growing up way too fast.
Which Tazer do I purchase for a 2019 Challenger hellcat? I see several types on the website. TIA!
Mike you are the man we all appreciate what you do for us thanks brother!!😁😎
Glad to help 💪
Thanks, Mike. Your vid convinced me to order the Tazer if only for the PIN code feature alone. A couple of questions I hope you can answer.
Before starting the car, if a thief locates and pulls the Tazer from the OBD port, either from under the dash or from the double bypass harness installed in the trunk, will the PIN lock still work?
Can the Tazer lock the brakes after parking the car and turning off the ignition, so it can't pushed into the street, or loaded onto a flatbed?
Thanks again!
With the new firmware they added a feature that kills the accelerator even if the Tazer is removed, the car will not be drivable until it's reinstalled and the PIN entered. It will also beep the horn randomly and flash the lights to draw attention if you don't enter the PIN.
When parked with the current firmware you cannot enable the brakes to lock them up. You can disable the accelerator, but that won't help with the flatbed situation..
@@WorkPlayDrive Thanks Mike. Is that version 2.5.8, issued last December?
It should be released soon. I’m currently using the Beta firmware.
Wouldn’t the alarm and horn 🚨 still go off while on a flatbed lol?
Thanks bro! Waiting on the Challenger model.
No need to wait bit.ly/TazerWPD the firmware for the challenger model is already released.
Honestly this is cool. I wonder if it’s possible for the Tazer to be made to utilize the engine immobilizer and/or kill the engine if necessary.
Horn honk would be 100% better, do they offer this for the RAM 2021 power wagon 2500?
The horn has already been added to the latest release and they also added the ability to disable the accelerator, which stays disabled even if someone locates and removes the Tazer.
Check out their website for the features available for the 2500 💪
Does carjack mode work if you get pulled out of car & the fob remains with vehicle??
The fob Has to be out of the vehicle. But if enough people reach out to them with concerns, you might be able to have them at an option to disable upon opening driver door.
Mike I have a tazer from years ago . Will that work for this function too or do I need to buy this new one for this
It will work on your older Tazer. I updated my Tazer from 2016 and have it running in a friends challenger for testing.
@@WorkPlayDrive thanks ! I have that original tazer for years now ! I am wondering if u can do one day a video on this original tazer upgrade and show on video how I do this update step by step based on a tazer which has never been updated
Would be awesome
This is one awesome feature! Thanks for the info!!!

So I have a 2016 scat pack charger. Do you think that’s applicable?
Can this be installed on any vehicle or just mopar?
Only available for certain dodge, jeep and Ram vehicles.
Is it simple process to clear the PIN when taking the vehicle for service?
Yes check this video 9 minutes 13 seconds.
Would I still be able to use the remote start on my Jeep? Thanks
Yes, it doesn’t activate with remote start. It will activate the moment the vehicle is actually turned on.
Hey Mike, Great Video. I'm installing this today on my 21 Rebel. It's been 4 months since you posted the video, so I'm wondering if the update to add the horn has been released, or if it's still pending? Thanks in advance!
an option to enable the horn, disable the accelerator, plus a bunch of new features are in the current unreleased beta firmware. I’m testing in my RAM right now, I’m not exactly sure when they’re releasing it, but it should be very soon.
@@WorkPlayDrive Thanks for the update! Looking forward to more features.
When is it available for 2015 Scatpacks?
Very soon, I have the beta running on my old 2016 Tazer on a challenger. They just want to make sure all the tweaks are worked out.
Dies the tazer always have to be plugged in after programming what u need?
For some features you can program and remove. For the love items, the Tazer needs to be plugged in for all the features in the “live menu” to function.
Review the online manual for more details
Does the unit have to be plugged in for the PIN and carjacking functions to work? (If someone disconnects the unit)?
Yes, it needs to be plugged in. And if you’re using it for antitheft, it’s recommended to hide the taser using either the extension cable or the double bypass for the challenger models.
What if the thief knows about this product and disconnects it and reconnects the default security module. Have they now defeated the system?
Do you know when the challenger update comes out? I updated and checked but I don’t have the live setting on my tazer so I guess it’s not out yet. Do u know ?
It’s out you need to follow the instructions on how to update your Tazer in this video. Once you update it the features become available.
Am I going to have to buy a new Tazer? I have one for my 2016 Charger
this will work on your previous Tazer products. I have an installed in my taser I bought in 2016. And running in a challenger scat pack.
@@WorkPlayDrive is the update available now for chargers and challengers ?
Coming very soon. Hopefully this week.
Will these work on 2015-2017 Dodge Challengers 🚘
Yes it works. 👍
When i set pin it would only say cruise off or on but never pin set so i sent it back..i contacted u on fb…i want to order again but only if i can use pin lock..is it still in beta? No matter how many times i set pin it would never save it would only take me to cruise on or off
This feature is no longer in beta. It’s actually a released firmware.
If you’re having issues, I would reach out to Zautomotive support for some more help
Will it work without the taser in? Cuz I don’t want the thief to reset it and steal it in 10mins
The Tazer provides this functionality so it needs to be installed.
Their next update will add some additional protection. 💪
@@WorkPlayDrive ohh sorry my bad I wasn’t clear.. I meant like the thief couldn’t just unplug it and just run away.. or will it still be there even if it was unplugged
Yes they can unplug to disable. That’s why it’s recommended to hide the device and they are working on updates to make this harder.
Awsome video. Will this update work on the 11-14 Chargers? (I have a 2012 R/T Road & Track). Thanks
It's in progress for the 11-14 chargers as well. Not sure on the release date though.
11-14 would have been with this update but my 11 decided to die; once fixed (maybe this week) I’ll get right on it.
@@joezizzadoro7628 GREAT news, Sir
@@WorkPlayDrive I look forward to the new release, Sir
Do you use STA-BIL in your hellcat?
No additives. I run the car a few times a month.
Are there ways to suggest additions to the Tazer?
Head over to their Facebook group they’re always watching 👀
Will this update be available for the "DS" version of the RAM, using the appropriate Tazer ???
The Tazer Ram will be getting this update, but they don’t have a firm date on its release.
@@WorkPlayDrive thanks for the reply !!! That's good news !!!
What if you have to have your car serviced. Is there a way to disable then re-enable the pin code?
Yep just watch the section at 9:13 on How to Clear the PIN. It takes less than a minute.
@@WorkPlayDrive Gotcha. Wasn't sure if there was going to be a enable/disable setting for the pin.
@@WorkPlayDrive if it's a live feature why not just unplug the Tazer if you leave it for service?
👍🏻 well made video, as always
Sorry about all that extra work on a Sunday night with you keeping up on all those comments ☺️
I think the horn honk would be awesome but only if they tried to drive the car off without the pin if that's possible. That way you don't look like a bozo with the horn going off while trying to unlock your car.
@@DextarRogue or just put the pin in before the countdown runs out 😅
@@zautomotive I guess! :D
They’re making it something we can enable/disable so we can do what works best for us.
Will this work on the taser for the 2015 dodge challenger SCATPACK model ?
Yes it will 👍
So what happens if they remove the case. And plug it back into the original.
question what about when you take your vehicle for service or detail, or state inspection
You can easily disable to pin from the menu while the car is running takes about 10 seconds. See 9:13 👍
@@WorkPlayDrive if i disable pin can i set a timer to reenable after certain time. i say this cause a local guy took his Demon to dealer for service and it got stolen from there
It’s a simple on/off manual process no timer. It’s a good point, but the best recommendation is to remove the Tazer when in for service.
@@WorkPlayDrive got installed been playing with, i have a 2019 dodge charger daytona 392, couldn’t get shift light to show up, windows roll down but not up and haven’t successfully got light show to start frpm remote, Main thing i got for was pin code the thefts are crazy and i don’t like being scared to go places in my car and living my life, makes me feel little better
Have you checked out my video on the shift light? After you turn it on in the taser, that adds an option to the performance menu. you need to go into the performance menu and turn it on there.
Best video on line. Thanks!!
Thank you 🙏
Hello this works with 2023 durango srt
Will this work on a sierra they are stealing them in my home town they are all over them including silverados?
The Tazer only works with Ram, Jeep and Dodge vehicles.
This will stop most attempts. I can think of a few ways around this. More effective route is intercepting the positive wire to the fuel pump, insert a relay, then hide the relay switch somewhere. No fuel, no moving.
Cutoff relay is always a solid plan, but some people way want an easier DIY option.
I’m working with their new firmware and it disables the accelerator pedal while beeping the horn as well.
does it have to stay plugged in the obd?
It must be plugged in, but there are other locations, like for the charger and challenger you can use the double bypass to hide it in the trunk.
Can a would be thief just reach under the dash and remove the Tazer module and then carry on with the theft? This assumes of course that they have gained entry by any of the various means thieves use to do so.
Thanks for another informative video!
Also, is it my imagination or are you doing a lot of voice over work on UA-cam of late? If so, congrats!
Thank you. Airport rerouted traffic over my neighborhood, I can’t got more than 90 seconds without a plane interrupting.
Now I just crank music and enjoy the install then I simplify and narrate afterwards.
This is fantastic! So glad I bought a tazer.
👍
