  • Just some after session thoughts on Wingfoiling at local Lake Ballinger.
My weight is 75kg or 164lbs. More thoughts on why my 88L with no wind sinks to about my feet depth. Eventhough my foil adds boyance it does not float. I suspect in weight me with my gear / my board / my foil / my wing "without wind to hold it up it adds weight" will all add up to slightly more than 88 kg.
Let me know if you would like me to precisely weigh every bit that is out with me on the water. I can also guesstimate the displacement in liters of my foil too.
    Have a great one!

I weigh 74 kg (163 lbs) and am using 112 liter Reedin Feather Board (Mostly use RRD 6.5 m2 Wing) since the area I am foiling has very light wind in general (6 - 10 knots) although there some windy days. I really enjoy this board: It has a plenty of buoyuancy while waiting for the gust to foil up, yet still manuevarable enough at my level of wing foiling (can jibe, but still cannot tack)
I think 88 liter board is a bit small in light wind area. I tried 88 liter board in Hua Hin, Thailand in March & April this year and I had very minor difficulty since it was quite windy. (I got knock down by the wave a few times initially though)
I will get either 105 liter or 95 liter board (JP X Winger) in 2 months upon trying them both on a light wind day. I think using a board with big enough volume is more less stressful when wing foiling in a light or an inconsistent wind area

The x-winger 95 is awesome. It’s only 5 feet long, so it’s easy to pump and maneuver. I still use my 120l f-one for really light wind though. With a 9m wing, I need a lot of support.

@@Tobeon2 yeah. The “Gong Superpower” 9m. I have an older one. Apparently the newer ones are lighter and easier to handle.
