I almost died when I got a mention from one of my favs (I am playing catch up on months of BookTube which is embarrassing yet also delicious to have so many fab vids to watch) Any blurb over a paragraph should be banned hahaha. I want a book embosser in my life!!!! Love these sit down chats.
the embosser!!! i've always wanted one! love how minimalist and classic it looks! and AHHH so stoked for you to visit the city! SF is such a gem with so much charm
SF! Pondering if you will be workshopping at ODC or Alonzo Lines (I'm not a dancer so those are the first two contemporary dance studios that i know) A cute day could be books at Fabulosa on Castro st. (indie, LGBT bookshop), then pick up coffee and Italian sandwich/pastries at Poesia cafe around the corner on 18th (the baker makes everything there,) or Cafe de Casa for Brazilian coffee and treats around the other corner on 17th. Then walk up 18th to Dolores park to read, sip, and snack. The highest corner aka "the fruit shelf" has very impressive views. May not be quiet if it is the weekend and sunny. North Beach has City Lights Books, on Columbus ave, which may have a lot more books aligned with your tastes, then grabbing a drink next door at Vesuvio's. I hope you have a nice visit!
San Francisco! That’s my city! :D You must pay a trip to Green Apple Books on Clement Street. It’s a two story establishment along a busy strip of delicious smelling Asian restaurants. I like to go on weeknights when they’re less crowded and the floorboards creak beneath my feet just so. A very cinematic experience! Their selection mirrors a lot of what you describe on your channel, too. For food, I am a huge lover of a Turkish spot called Lokma, west and down the street from Green Apple. But if you want a good wine bar, Bar Gemini across town is great for low intervention sips. This city is beautiful and bustling! I hope you enjoy your visit here in May. ❤
I love a book shop with the word Green in it and asian restaurant fumes! Sounds like heaven. I am so looking forward to this, thank you so much for sharing. Can't wait to try Lokma and definitely Bar Gemini as well. Big hugs!!!
What a cool trip to Balto. We used to live there before moving to PA. I feel sometimes when a lot happens in a short period of time…like on your quick trip to Balto, and you’re working so to speak, it takes its toll. Inland sounds fantastic!! What a really thoughtful gift, the embosser. 🥰🥰. I’m very glad to hear Hjorth has a new book coming. Yes!
It definitely takes a toll. Meeting Patti Smith yesterday just reinvigorated me!!!! Excited for the new Hjorth, I'll update on how it is. Loved Balto! A very cute day and a half. Big hugs!!!!
Thank you Kiran! I got it secondhand in Richmond and I love it so much. It has just a slight itchy-ness to it, so always something under. and yes! Maybe because the body doesn't have time to adjust to the new place before you whip it around somewhere else...
Oh my goodness the embosser is GORGEOUS, need it asap!

It’s an obvious one, but City Lights in SF is a must! Enjoyed hearing about your life as an artist today

I’m so intrigued by the practice of not reading blurbs - I’d love to incorporate that more !!
i much prefer this ND paperback cover of the hour of the star to the bright yellow one by them 😍 although the hardback special edition is stunning!
yes I looooove this glossy paperback so much.
i love the fit! the sweater looks so cosy!! i also find that it the shorter trips that are more tiring. why? i dont know!! lol

@benjaminjournal I love how you're dressed today. I'm very much into fashion. Also, it's weird but you don't look tired at all. You look adorable.
