    Have this paint and know just the piece to put it on. I have a old night stand that needs a dose of POP !! I paint A LOT of my hardware with Rusteoleum spray paint too. Love all of the distressing that was done on these pieces. This will give me the chance to use my other sprayer for the sealer. Another GREAT video.

    I had this dresser and bed. The bed had big balls on the ends of the headboard....I think! I'm sure these will be around for a hundred years. I would love to see what you would do with a midcentury hutch like I sent you! I don't know what to do with it. I can resend it if you deleted it. It was in a message on FB I believe....had to have been.

    I really really like this piece but i actually fell in love with something just sitting in the background lol. That bench behind you is beautiful and is actually my newest favorite color lol. I just found two Arthur Umanoff style wood slat barstools just sitting beside the road lol so for the very first time in my life i took something someone else had thrown in the trash lol.. But they turned out to be in wonderful shape so i just did a light sanding and sprayed the wooden pieces with Rustolium (pretty sure i spelled that wrong lol) Robins Egg, very close to the same color of your bench, and sprayed the bottom metal piece with " Oil Rubbed Bronze". They both turned out amazing looking. I usually buy things to flip but after doing research and seeing just how much these sell for before fixing them up i cant decide if i want to sell or keep them lol. But sorry for the book here lol it was a very very long way of saying your bench is beautiful lol

    These pieces are so beautiful. I wish I lived closer. Jami, I really like a matte finish. What would u suggest as a matte finish if I wanted something other then the satin finish? Has to be really durable as my piece will get a lot of wear.

    too much red imo. great execution. just would have really liked a deeper red (like a burgundy or red wine color). was wanting the. black to smother the red ALMOST altogether... but like i said... i admire your process

    Can I brush on the poly acrylic or does it have to be sprayed? Love your vids, thank you!

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  5 років тому +1

      You can brush it on. Keep in mind that you may get a little bit of pigment in the paint from your brush so if you don’t want to contaminate your whole container of sealer with the color you’re sealing use a separate container to dip out of.

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  5 років тому

      You can polish wax to a decent sheen. Takes tons of elbow grease but totally achievable.

    • @TSkrobarczyk
      @TSkrobarczyk 5 років тому

      Jami Ray Vintage So can I not just use a clear coat with a brush? Or does it have to be wax? I’ve never done this but I want to achieve this look on a bedroom barn door we just got. Thanks!

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  5 років тому

      You could totally brush it on. Just know that DIY paint has a ton of pigment so if there is any dust the brush may get red mixed into the sealer.

    Not sure what I do wrong but that brand metallic spray pain ALWAYS clogs on me mid project.

    • @kendo5862
      @kendo5862 6 років тому +1

      AJ HULSEY - I’m no expert but saw no replies for a few days ...so here goes! ... try pulse spraying rather than continuous, some serious can shaking (even in warm water for a while) and then pause for a clean of the nozzle (hold cam upside down and spray) and clean every so often apparently helps. I think metallics need the most shaking though. Just from other vids i saw today! (Hence I say I’m no expert!). Wish you luck on your project!

    • @JamiRayVintage
      @JamiRayVintage  6 років тому +1

      I have some issues with it plugging up too. To clear the nozzle I put it in a cup of water and microwave JUST the nozzle for 3:00 minutes and that usually works to loosen up the plugs.
