- Did you know, John Fogerty has never owned any of the music he wrote, produced, and arranged during the CCR years. His songs meant everything to him and the record label owner Saul Zaentz didn’t honor John or his music. He even went so far as suing john for sounding like himself. That has never before happened and John happily won that lawsuit. His lawsuit will protect other artists from ever being sued for sounding like themselves. Way to go John!

The idea that greedy, unscrupulous people who bring nothing other than money to the table can make life hell for actual artists -- the people who actually create stuff -- is one of the lamentable aspects of the music business. I've lost track of the number of stories I've heard about greedy producers, managers, etc. who tried to rip off artists, or claim royalties for things they had no part in creating, try to prey on, or leech off, artists and creators.
That was a terrible time for John and all his loving fans, but you can't suppress a great gifted artist like John for to long. What a successful come back to all those great early songs we all are enjoying John sing once again.
Wish he could come out with some new songs.
@@DSilvergun John has come out with new songs over the recent years. Not as fast paced as those early on album years of the past, I can enjoy a new song even if it's here and there. In concert he put's plenty of new life in those songs we all love.
My Dear John, I'm 39 years old, brought up on ur music, u were my 3rd concert. I grew up in the bay area, and I think u may have gone to school with my Dad. Ur legacy is already set in stone, and it's brilliant. Green River is my favorite, no one understands why, but, that's my favorite. Not to say Iont have other favorites of urs. I can remember that. Guy basically sued him for sounding like himself. He already had the rights to their songs but he wanted it all. I was glad John beat him. Anything John Fogerty puts out is going to sound like John Fogerty because he has a unique sound that you can hear from miles away. Thats what made saul rich. He needed them, they didnt need him. Their music spoke for itself.

Hey John. I can remember that you had a video awhile back that covered this. I thought it was bullshit then and it's bullshit now. Either way you carried on and made a amazing name for yourself. To me that's a win because if it didn't happen you may have never gone out on your own. Thank God you did or we wouldn't have ever heard all the amazing music you made. Foggerty such a bulshitter. Not only his was estranged from his own brother. The other members of CCR didn't want to work with him. But besides that. He signed a legal contact.. Saul Zaentz might be not angel, but he was a greatest movie producer ever lived. English Patient, Amadeus, One flew over coocoo nest, etc etc. listen to interview of Milos Forman, Michael Douglas, etc who loved him dearly. Such a shame all these haters comments. Who literally know nothing except that Saul was Jewish.
