You come off as much younger if you have a youthful personality.
John Fogerty doesn't seem like the type of person who would start going "yo I'm totally old and stuff" as soon as he was pushing 30 or anything like that, he probably insisted that he still felt very young at that age.

Man, it's a shame CCR didn't last longer. It's amazing what they managed to do in just 5 years' time, and they're still considered one of the best rock bands of all time even today. I really hope they manage to work out their legal issues and have another reunion, that would be amazing.

The grateful Dead are also quoted as saying they were being shocked from all the mics because it was raining and none of the equipment was grounded properly. I think that's what the silence John heard was, the grounds crew fixing the electrical set up so the bands wouldn't be electrocuted.

Cosmo's Factory: All thanks to the innovation of The Grateful Dead's benefactor and soundman, Owsley Stanley III. He was the one who set the wheels in motion for the proper concert PA's we saw the explosion of in the late '60's right on through to today. He had a vision of what a proper sound system should be, and he spent years and considerable amounts of money to achieve it. It culminated in GD's "Wall of Sound" in 1973 and (especially) 1974. As Phil Lesh put it, that PA "was like hearing the voice of God." Owsley was a pretty interesting and amazing guy. Love your username, btw. That's far and away my favorite CCR album. 3rd Generation!!!

John did most of the work, so he's entitled to it. Tom, Doug and Stu bitched about band management, even though they didn't know jackshit about the business. Then John finally gave in to their "creativity", and when Doug and Stu finally got their way, it flopped. *cough* Mardi Gras. @@aimfuldrifter

He said the bands played cards all night...they would be stoned...drunk...sobered up...and stoned again. They played cards all night and day. Whichever band lost the card game would have to go out. He said he played cards with Janis and Jimi.

When I was 9 years old, my parents were getting a divorce and my dad has always been a huge ccr fan and he wanted to go see John Fogerty and my parents getting a divorce was hard on me. Well my dad brought me to Choctaw where John fogerty was playing and he wanted me to see him. During the concert he had just finished I think it was either “have you ever seen the rain” or “someday never comes” during the song I got on my dads shoulders and was cheering and I was the only person there under 40 years old and John fogerty saw me and when he was grabbing a different guitar he gave the guitar pic he used during the song and handed it to his wife. she came down to were me and my dad were and said “John wanted me to give you this” I honesty still can’t believe that happened

Lawmanrulz I saw John Fogerty about 20 years ago in Boston and brought my 6 year old son who had a bright white Red Sox Shirt on , Luckily we had seats in the 6th row center and when the first song ended ( Born on the Bayou) John looked Strait at my Son and pointed at him , waved at him ,saluted to him and then Bowed to my son. All this time my son is jumping up and down yelling, Dad Dad he waved at me he said hi to me , Dad Dad and he started balling his eyes out. Was one of the best moments of both our lives. To this day me and my son still talk about that moment. I always wanted to tell John Fogerty how that 10 seconds changed our life’s.

I even went so far as to send him a CD of Blue Moon Swamp hoping he would Autograph it for my son and low and behold it came back autographed to My son Stephen it said best wishes John Fogerty. Couldn’t believe it. I think because he has kids about my sons age , is why he likes to see kids being kids and seeing them happy. We all know what his childhood was like. So he knows. Just listen to the song “ Some day never comes “. It says it all. I educated my kid all about John Fogerty , so my son gets it. You won’t find a better guy to learn about life than John Fogerty. I've seen this Woodstock incident in other UA-cam videos on interviews with John Fogerty in which he relates what happened to their appearances CCR then. He indicates that this was the inspiration and background to one of my favorite of his compositions and songs here recorded as lead singer and lead man for CCR. This song was part of the cosmos Factory which was recorded in late 69 and became a big hit in the spring of 1970 around March 1970 titled "Who'll Stop The Rain?"
As saw your comment hers have mentioned this Conan O'Brien segment was recorded about the time that he was nearing 70 on 5 / 28 / 1970, as his do be his 5 / 28 slash 1945. He is still active in recording to some extent and he is remaining vibrant is due to God's grace in his life, would he might not been aware of that the time, as well as the other members that departed from him in CCR, as a never be came in the slave or took part in escapades of drugs, alcohol, and other escapades which pop rockers unfortunate became involved in. They were all led to maintain there focus up on the artistry contain and most of their conversations inspired by God's genius to John Fogerty to exercise his God given talents. Unfortunately kama they became jealous of Johns artistry and ability, and mistakenly prevail the pond him to have a album recorded after 6 stop albums which swapped by there contributions in writing and singing. There is an old adage at when something works don't mess with it. Unfortunately in our human fallen state of pride( which God list as his most hated of 7 deadly sins in the book a proverbs. His hate for it is because it made Lucifer what he became and was Satan and the destruction on God's human creation which in sued. It is forgivable by HIS Salvation in his only begotten Son Jesus Christ included to us. There is only one unforgivable sandwich Jesus outlined in Matthew chapter 12 verse 32 which is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. That can't be forgiven).
If the other members of CCR had taken lessons from such group artist or duets as Simon and Garfunkel, and which Paul Simon did all of the competition with Garfunkel willing to contribute his wonderful voice and artistry; and even the Rolling Stones who kept together even up to our time when most people in England dislike them in comparison the Beatles in the midst 60's thinking the would only last for one - 2 years at most. While stones members suffered from narcissism that time and other bad habits they didn't mess with what made it a success and how we all inner mixed with Mick Jagger in maintaining their successful recordings over many decades.

CCR did one song and you could hear John yelling away from the mic (presumably to the other band members) "I can't hear a thing". No stage monitors, and such a large vast area you just have to try to sing on cue and cross your fingers.
Note Grace Slick holding a hand to her ear when she started singing on Sunday morning.

Firstname: Sometimes I listen to the Dead all day at work. Because I understand music, and as someone who does, I can hear what an incredible band the Grateful Dead were. Who else sounded like them back then? Nowadays, lots of bands try to sound like them, but back in the '60's and '70's, the Dead were their own distinctively unique beast. In some ways, the lyrics of Robert Hunter and John Perry Barlow (who both wrote the lion's share of Dead lyrics) share quite a few similarities with those of John Fogerty. All are rooted in deep Americana, invoking the spirit of bygone days and places with stunning clarity. I absolutely love both GD and CCR. The Dead, however, could create pure magic out of thin air. Jerry Garcia - in his prime - never played a solo the same way twice, constantly re-inventing himself in the process. There was NO ONE like him, and there never, ever will be again. His dedication to exploring new musical territory was unparalleled. Phil Lesh was (is) a bass player like no other - the point being, GD was a band of musicians whose style was unlike any other. People who dismiss the Dead to me are in the same category as those whine about not liking Bob Dylan because "his voice sucks, he mumbles"....y'know, the same ol' tired bullshit. I find people who dismiss the Dead as a sucky, boring jam band - having never seen them or only having heard Casey Jones, Truckin' or Touch of Grey on the radio - as incredibly narrow-minded.

Firstname Lastname you have to understand The Grateful Dead, their Music and the DeadHeads. It’s basically a lifestyle. I’ve been to Plenty of Shows and it’s an experience someone should have tried once in there life time. I’ve met more people from around the world at Dead Shows that are generally all good people. From Paperboys to presidents of Company’s , it’s the Music that we all love and it’s basically a common bond. You should listen to
“ Eyes of the World “ sometime or watch the Grateful Dead Movie. It’s an experience to say the least.

As most musicians will tell you its pretty hard to play any instrument when flying on Acid so I doubt some of this story, the Dead may well have been very stoned but not on Acid but lets remember CCR were not a band where the members dropped Acid but may have smoked weed only.

Wasn't there some talk that the mics for the Grateful Dead were wired wrong and they were actually giving them electric shocks? In addition to the LSD, that must've sucked as a performer.
