Can't believe that gentle voice of John is transformed into a powerful lion roar when he sings!!
true!! verbatim..that is what i thought
Right. Gently as a dog, roars like a lion..
HAHAHAH YEAH I AGREE
My first though when I heard him talk!! I guess it had been a long time since I heard John's speaking voice.

John Fogerty is an American classic and national treasure. CCR still sounds great today all these DECADES later.
Regardless of their differences this group remains one of the best ever. A legend

I am so happy for John that the second act of his musical career has brought him great success - he deserves it - what a great great talent
Despite all the bad blood over the years they all showed great dignity receiving this award, and they are so deserving of being members of the hall of fame.
They didn't even let the rest of the band play. They brought their instruments expecting to play and were refused. The house band played instead. J. F. is an ass
I would absolutely agree with you except in John's case. I'm not sure that he did when he refused to mention his brother Tom. I know they had a long standing riff between them but I would have thought even a simple thank you for his contributions to the band would have sufficed. A lack of mention to Tom while mentioning their other brother Bob is a real dig. Maybe it was warranted. I'm not saying either way. It just does not sit well with me.
@@joeblog2672 Well, knowing that your brother was trying to sue you, and then on his deathbed told John his best friend was Saul Zance...John was put through the grinder from the other three for a long time. It's amazing he was as gracious up there as he was...
@@joeblog2672 Considering all the things Tom did to him, it's understandable why they never made up before his death and why John doesn't even want to mention him. Tom backstabbed and sued him just too many times.
@@ShadowAngel-lt8nw Must have been a deep rift between them. I will have to look into the bad blood history. I know it happens. Some of the Bachman brothers from the band BTO sued each other. I don't know how their personal relationships were affected. A couple of the Ramone brothers hated each other bitterly before their deaths but kept the shows going. Sad. Ultimately stupid as well, on one person's side of it at least.
John Fogerty with his family on the back porch during the covid is the best thing on UA-cam.
Agreed!
Except when he needlessly talked shit about the Grateful Dead at Woodstock.
I saw him last Sunday in concert and he was amazing. He plays now with his 2 sons.

John created more than the songs. He created a *sound* . Exponentially more difficult.
Hell, songwriting is no easy feat. People just don't realize what it takes because they can't do it.
Yup. Rod Stewart tried singing Have You Seen The Rain. I said hmmm good singing but sound something missing.
@Cygnus. It's like inventing. 99% perspiration, 1% inspiration. Writing a decent song means working at it till it's right.
John created the swamp rock sound👍✌
@@kennyhuskisson2684 This cat thought in the beginning that CCR must be based down South as opposed to San Fran. The track "Born On the Bayou" is classic swamp rock. My sister and I saw CCR in a gymnasium in Tucson just after "Bayou Country" was released. We sat on the floor in the first row, right in front of Johnny. The group was not on a stage but a low riser so we could practically reach out and touch him. The most amazing thing was that he sang and played "Bayou Country". which they opened with, just like the record but with the thrill of watching them perform and hearing it live. John is a performer with class. What a man.....
Some of the truly best music of the century, definitely a top 10 talent of the century John Fogerty was and is.
What an extraordinary talent in John Fogerty. It's truly remarkable that he not only wrote, sang, played and arranged the material, it's that he brought together a sound and style of music of another place from where he was from. Even people from there (Louisiana), said they thought CCR was from there!!
What can I say. Thank you John for all the joy you gave us
John is the man that will be remembered.

Congratulations to Clearance Clearwater Revival. They deserve it. It's a good thing that CCR brought us very good music. All LEGENDS! Rock 4 Ever!
That was an interesting band name - "Clearance". Have you listened to the right band?
I thought John was remarkably magnanimous and very mature here. Well done to him.
Amen!
@@alanna8983 The fact that Fogerty didn't stoop low enough to start bad mouthing the other guys and not let the drama ruining what was the band's crowning achievement speaks volumes here.

Bullshit. Cosmo is the mature, magnanimous one. Fogerty is egotistical and bitter and didn't even let his bandmates perform. Get real!
Knowing had badly he was hurt by Creedence I am just glad that John showed true Professionalism in a hard time
John Fogerty wrote the songs, came up with the trademark riffs, and sang the lead. He was CCR, without him, no CCR.

I thought John showed major class, after his band-mates stabbed him in the back, abandoning him, while, he was held hostage by the record company.
The guy grating on our nerves (with his long acceptance speech), was the drummer and yes, he had some unique, great drum work. I just don't get his bag, though.
Today, John's concerts kick it and generations, get it! His song 'Suzie Q' was the staple of my high school stomps and dances. His music is eternal and his beat comes from deep within all of us.

Congratulations John and thank you for the everlasting gift of your music and great example of grace and honor amongst those who showed their true colors.
❤CCR...Truly great band and music. A huge part of the soundtrack of a generation that was blessed with the best music ever. John Fogerty was the genius behind the bands success. Its extremely sad when record companies and ego's ruin a good thing. There would be no Credence without John Fogerty. That's just the way it is. I'm really glad he's happy now and we still have the music! ❤

Here in 2022 I find myself at the age of 59. I can't stop playing CCR. God Bless you CCR. Your music is eternal. Heart ❤️
CCR was my late husband's favorite band. He moved and grooved to this band's lyrics and rhythm of their music. It always took him to a great, laughing, fun, place. Thanks Creedance: you are top notch!!!
John is a class act. He thanked his bandmates, brother, his wife, and he didn't forget his fans. What a legend he is.
and that my friends is of the best singer-songwriters of all time. CCR is John Fogerty. He really held himself well, could see he wasn't feeling it on stage. One of the best bands ever, CCR.
John Fogerty what a voice!!! Song after song. He has the power to write as well.
What a genius and top musician is John Fogerty . I was in Vietnam listening to him and he will always be CCR To me screw the rest.
Well said !
John is the man! The rest of the band owe him everything
John carried the band on his shoulders only to have them backstab him. We all know who wrote the songs, who truly was, CCR!
If this is so evidently true, why couldn't John duplicate the same success without the rest of the CCR bandmates? I won't deny John's brilliant song-writing ability, but it's patently absurd to think that the rest of the CCR guys didn't contribute significantly to the sound and success of the band. John is such a tool, and it doesn't matter how brilliant he may be, that will never change.
John Fogerty is not a tool. You obviously don’t know the story. Catch up on your reading then revise your comments so they make sense
I have read and watched multiple things on the topic. John's narcissism and ego are precisely why the greatness of CCR could not continue. Plus, I've seen him live; he's a giant prick.
How did they backstab him?
Have to say that he’s a great writer, but that sound they had came from a BAND.
It always happens the same. The main guy thinks he did it on his own, but then always has to have like 10-12 extra musicians on stage to replicate what they did with 4 guys.
Same thing with Pink Floyd
💟Love John and his songs most of all the vive of his voice 🎶and the memories those songs hold in my life.🎸🎸
I bought "Mardi Gras" when it came out in 1972 because I had all of their earlier albums, plus I loved the two hit singles from it, "Someday Never Comes" and "Sweet Hitchiker". It was intriguing to hear the other band members' contributions on it at the time, but after streaming it on Google Play recently, they don't hold up under the test of time. The four best songs on the album are the two hit singles, the Fogerty-composed "Lookin' for a Reason", and the only remake of an oldie, "Hello Mary Lou".
I grew up CCR I love the group back then and I still love CCR God bless you all.👍👍💕💖☮️😇🙏🦅🇺🇸

Right! If Rock n Roll was golf, John would be hitting from the Pro's tees, and those other clowns would be hitting from the lady's tees. Rock on John, we love YOUR music!
The hall is a joke. Look how long it took Rush and Deep Purple to get recognized. The RRHOF wouldn't know a great band if it kicked them in the ass.
The hall of fame is meaningless corporate bullshit anyway.
@sabbracadabra, you got that right. I believe the U.S. is the only country that has halls of fame at all (Canada may have picked up on the idea too). We are the most corporate-controlled country in the world, and we are full of meaningless halls of fame. Meaningless because, why celebrate fame?

Hats off to J.C. Fogerty for maintaining his composure during the spew from the other two. They along with Saul Zaentz and his brother Tom Fogerty stabbed John in the back big time. His best revenge is to do great which he keeps on doing...
Did you ever think maybe John came across this way because he was stabbed in the back by the others, including his own brother? I too wish he could have temporarily buried the hatchet and have a few minutes reminiscing the great work they did together. It probably would have been good for his own conscience.
Stu and Doug did not stab him in the back, John took control of the band and demanded that they do it all his way, and that caused them to leave the band after the Mardi Gras album. They had nothing to do with Fantasy owning the music. That was between John and the record label.
toes2001 is correct! Just verified this in John's autobiography book "Fortunate Son". As they say, "the proof is in the pudding". Look at all the work in CCR and Fogerty's solo career, filled with great songs all written and arranged by J.C. Fogerty. Then, we hear their final failed album Mardi Gras, where Doug and Stu were given their chance at writing and singing and what did we get? Garbage! What great songs have Stu and Doug written since CCR? That's right, Nothing! Instead they're touring under another CCR moniker, which is the name Fogerty came up with. Talk about ungrateful plagiarizers. While Doug and Stu will be the legendary rhythm section of the original CCR, they are nothing else.
+Frank Converse Haha :D Would you perform with these shitheads after all that happened? I wouldn't. And who's spiteful here? Look at Stu's cynical face during John's speech. Disgusting people.

CCR was my band as a 13 yr old boy

" and John " not " and my Uncle John "
just " and John "

Yes - and No. Tom was the first to leave CCR, and for the rest of his life he clearly chose in favor of Cook/Clifford and Fantasy Red. - so it´s hardly surprising that there´s no love lost between Tom´s family and John
On the same token, John’s kids refer to him as Tom or “your brother” not Uncle Tom
The the faint dialogue in the intro to "Rainbow Carousel" by Tom Fogerty is revealing.
John is such a class act , too bad he got screwed by his former bandmates.
how did he get screwed over .. what happened
His band members after selling their rights to the record company that John had problems with later talked the record company to sue John for plagiarizing a song saying it sounded like another song which he had sung, thankfully John won the lawsuit.
father of the bass player was a lawyer. He looked over the contract and said it was fine . supposedly he looked at it . after reviewing a lot of information I seriously doubt if he ever did look at it . He screwed him and his bandmates did even his own brother screw fantasy workers the owner of that record label is 6 feet under where he belongs
@@davecarl77 Saul Zaentz actually sued John for three separate things on the Centerfield album, since he was angry that John got a record deal with a different label. The third lawsuit was the plagiarism one, and Saul made up the story that "bass player Doug Clifford" brought a copy of the album to him and recommended he sue. That statement by Saul is false, since he got the name wrong and had already had a copy of the album to listen to since he had already sued over "Zanz Kant Danz" and "Mr. Greed" - two songs that were written about Zaentz.
It was after the third lawsuit by Zaentz that he swooped in to buy the voting rights off of the three band members, taking advantage of Tom's impending death and the animosity that Zaentz fueled between them and John in order to get them to sell to him. Zaentz always exploited the band to make as much money as possible, and the voting rights allowed him to license the songs in order to make even more money.

When I was a kid back in the 70s in Mexico my uncles and mom played CCR. We didn’t understand the lyrics because we didn’t understand English but the music was incredible you didn’t need to know the language the music didn’t. Great band I will always love their music.
Un grupo por excelencia. John Fogerty un genio de ésta maravillosa música!!! Saludos desde Argentina!!
No Fogerty no CCR. This Revisited band with the other two members and a different lead singer are nothing without him!
Nothing but a Karaoke band!
Stu whined saying they were dissed but John told them in advance that he would not play with them, and that they knew why. They, particularly Stu, all stabbed him in the back.
I agree the other three were ungrateful back-stabbers. John Fogerty was the only talent.
But Fogerty without them wasn't all that much either.
Without Doug Clifford no CCR his drumming style the cover bands hell all these years later still cant open and close the damn hi-hat on Have you ever scene the rain
I am so grateful to CCR, John thank u for having shared ur most unique n greatest voice, ur beautiful musical talent, song writing, playing n especially singing. Your music has carried me throughout my life, thank u n God bless*
Back in the 50's a record producer named Sam Phillips said if he could find a white singer (Elvis) that sounded black, he could make a million dollars. Well, in the 1960's a guy named John C. Fogerty came up with an idea to do the same by adopting a swamp-rock music persona with catchy lyrics and along with Doug Clifford, Stu Cook and brother Tom became Creedence Clearwater Revival. All of the millions of fans give thanks for recording those great songs that encompass our lives and memories. You guys rock ! 🎸
You can sell your rights and soul, but you can’t sell your talent. John proved them that.
