    Cool space for a Airbnb/hotel room in the woods, but functionally I think it’s too small for most full time living. The small kitchen especially would be the main issue for me.

    I'm currently living full time in an 18' travel trailer - basically 16'x6' inside. It still has more amenities than this. Storage cabinets, a 4 cubic foot fridge, small pantry, for instance. The micro home is much nicer aesthetically, of course. Better construction for sure. Neither of them have room to swing a cat, however; and I have a cat. I want to swing him. Must keep looking for bigger spaces.

    I love how we took the lawn mower out of the $500 shed, threw in a bed and a picture window, call it a house and charge $35,000 to start. Every time some huckster company sells an overpriced box, a video gets made about it but you only ever see the demo unit. I'll buy a $6000 bus, spend $6000 making the inside into a living space, and park the thing in a different scenic place each week and have $20,000 left over.

The Law & the Neighbors will hound micro house. If they want to sell these, they need to TURN KEY, Deliver & Install the whole deal. The decking, the base, the box, & utility hook ups all in one. Great for Trailer parks.

  • @bawintermage8351
    @bawintermage8351 10 днів тому +23

    No, we dont want a prison cell in the woods as a "home" , unless you are considering it an emergency snow shelter. Buildings should be reflective of function and style. The apple store in the Forrest is neither. A "cabin" home is both a shelter and a retreat from the "city" . Perhaps we should revisit the prarie school of architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright to understand how to integrate natur materials and design that flows with the environment and not stand starkly in contrast to it!

      If the microhome is literally fire proof, that might be good for CA.

    • @bawintermage8351
      @bawintermage8351 7 днів тому

      @SeaJay_Oceans You can build fire resistant structures, but mostly it comes down to denying the fire fuel in the immediate area surrounding homes. There, in my opinion, should always be fire barrier zones between Forrested areas and homes in wildfire areas, fire resistant roofing, and emergency suppression equipment. If you have the money for big homes in the hills, add in a foaming system, farm watering system and no vegetation barrier.

    Thanks for showing whether people say they liked it or not. For something THIS small, I would like to see a shelf somewhere able to accommodate an airline size carry on roller luggage. The best place looks like the niche behind the seat, but you can't open the top panel of your luggage while stowed there. Maybe the "cutting board" is a place you could slide your luggage out onto the "cutting board" and over the walkway to open your luggage. Then the luggage itself remains to stow what you brought. The top pull-out cab could have been redesigned for a luggage. Otherwise I think they have done a lot in this small space. I kinda wish you did a review of the "business end" exterior closet with the mechanical systems and how they packed in the heat pump, water heater, electrical, etc.

Keep the water trickling from the faucets, dress warmly, have a generator if the electricity goes out, and you’ll be fine.

    Cool concept, but ridiculously small to be considered a "home". The exterior is pretty cool in that I imagine you could just pressure wash it every quarter, mainly due to those windows which you would want to keep clean to really enjoy them.
    Some simple HVAC ducting would be an improvement, seems odd to have the mini split in the kitchenette area.
    Looking forward to the M1 video.

    Love some things about this & hate others. The "murphy" bed is awkwardly placed, takes up living room when not in use & seems to hang out into the walkway. Would be better on a couple of rails on the wall so it slides up to the ceiling when not in use, or as a twinxl/full murphy the other way so it folds up against the linen storage/closet. All those Internet Of Stupid Things smart features are sure to cause frustration & be a security weak point. Lots of electronics that WILL be going bad & be a pain to repair or replace. Kitchenette could be better designed too. Other than those things it looks sharp, sturdy & has a ton of cool features if you're into that. Really like the wet bath with built in ring light.

    I am enjoying your tours of these spaces. Like others feel, micro “homes” would not be suitable for most permanent living situations in North America. Maybe for a chichi conference center set up where each guest had their own private space. But compared to some of the living spaces I’ve seen on Japanese (Tokyo) channels, this is fairly spacious. It’s basically a “smart” capsule. Wish there was a way to have an open window, if there’s a power outage, how would a person get out, or have air flow?

    Kerry, I am sure it takes more than 60 minutes to establish Power, Water, Sewage connection to the location where the home will be installed and most likely it has to be anchored to something so the wind or earthquake do not move it. It would be interesting to learn how can these be set up off grid and how the problems of the water supply, power and sewage can be solved. These would be great in areas that are typically unbuildable such as slopes... Thank you for great presentation, the designers have done a great job.

      @KerryTarnow Kerry, most likely their PMs (Project Managers) have all the prerequisites documented (basically a site set up requirements that they may have outsourced to builders for power, water, sewage and the permits required). So, maybe they can provide the data to you. Outlining what is Haus.Me's responsibility vs the owner of the land along with timings and approx costs. I really liked how you realistically went through the steps...

    throwing the price up front absolute baws yes!!!! best content on youtube for me thank you Kerry!!! Seemed like a weird set-up though lol like maybe this is sponsored and maybe not in production yet. It sounds like you're saying "ginch" lmao. Less populated areas might not be as big of a deal if so many windows are clear... I'd be happy with this thing if it were more simple (less gimmicks but same structure). Honestly seems designed by Californian nudist boomers that enjoyed the hippy years, of which I can relate to none but I would really like this as a mid-term home. Kind of moving into the geoship space but on the opposite end of waste as in too much tech for not much gain, personally I'd look for something more basic, I'd want the rooms and their functions and not all the little doo dads

Or park is demolished for massive luxury apartment buildings. And young people who don’t have well off families and are working and in college to be nurses, doctors, firefighters, radiology, physicians assistants needs housing in cities cheap.
