They are not homes They are use for camping hotels , or in tourist attractions where there is a minimal foot print to the ground. In general they are elevated in tourist posts with nice flowers bearing by. We have in our camps in many places in china. Also can be use for temporary housing of the executives in remote construction sites the one for normal workers are a bit different. Same as containers. This are for hotels in tourist destinations. Can be tailor made and work with beneficiary on design and final product finishings and material choice. They are not houses. In china to put this in your own land is hard . Need a permit for it same as for a house. Quiet difficult.
Now it makes sense. I was looking at the insulation (cold climate here, he, he!) and thermal bridges. And the boiler is with the ACs, so in an exposed space outside. They look great and super concept. But you would never get away with the working conditions in the UK. No safety boots, no eye protection, no hard hats, ect. But hey they look fabulous.
Every worker should at least be wearing a hard plastic hat and appropriate work gloves . Some should be required to put on safety goggles when operating circular saws. Ideally, all should be wearing safety shoes.
But the prices here in china little different, I get a 40 feet container house 11.4 x7.48 m extra high 2.90 m, with 3 bed rooms, bigger bathroom, electric floor heating system. Extra bigger walls 100 mm, with decoration panels and inside decoration planes too. Price is round 25.000 USD from seaport Xiamen. I will make Monday a video from it and upload it here by UA-cam.

With that little space, I wouldn't design a balcony or roofed terrace. The house is ground level. One could easily just go outside and have an extended foldable roofs like camper vans. That extra space could have served for bigger bedroom or kitchen instead.
