Hey AD! If you're taking notes and if you care about what your viewers say, I'd like to say that I much prefer these videos about *architecture*, and don't at all care for your "celebrity cribs" videos where they walk around and explain where they bought their knick-knack's. Maybe start another channel for that. Thanks!
AD has been featuring celebrity homes for decades, since at least the 1950s. You’re just going to have to get over the fact that they do both. On one channel.
This stuff is viewed by many fewer people than the celebrity mansions. Jennifer Garner's video is at 4,6M views. To me it's obvious why AD won't stop covering the cribs of the rich and famous.
Of course it has an industrial look and feel to it. They effing shipping containers. “Oh wow. This log cabin has a natural look and feel to it.” Did that ridiculous to you? It should have.
@@cwg73160 it's because you can find shipping containers in any alleyway in Brooklyn. That's what they were referring to, that the house itself fits well in Brooklyn and in a way pays homage to the city
They built an 375 apartments student accommodation comprises named Mill Junction in Johannesburg, South Africa back in 2014, using shipping containers.
LOT-EK is one of the most innovative designers around these days and this shows you why. They make high art out of the large-scale equivalent of a milk crate... Now that's something!
I genuinely love the industrial look, best way to save the planet is not to manufacture new more "efficient and environmentally friendly" things, but just to stop manufacturing new things altogether and reuse things that already exist. Keep it up!
Devoting an entire corner lot and all those resources to house ONE person isn't going to help us save the planet. This is excessive regardless of the materials used.
@@fignwton13 lol, yeah but it looks so cool and modern!! jk, I do agree with both of you, yes it is very much great to reuse, but at the same time this is NYC, that space can be utilized better for multiple families.
These vanity projects don't "save the planet". The amount of additional heating and cooling such a structure would need compared to one made of traditional building materials is considerable. Add the additional supports, requirements for one-off custom solutions, waterproofing and so on, and there is no net benefit here. If you like the look and concept fine, but it's not a green solution by any means.
about 95% of the build is new materials. reusing a some shipping containers that are easily recycled, like a soda can is, not saving the world or anything actually. The inefficiency of heating and cooling this space, easily outweights any "savings" of the planet their might have been.
They listened to their customers...and are genius in their plan...highly functional and not crazy over top luxury treatments...well done...would love to see it but video was very well done ..
This house is a treasure: sustainability, assembling semplicity (three days), elegance, comfort, a beautiful view and luxuries that invite the owners to share and be connected with other people, like the projection room, the huge fireplace, beautiful outdoor spaces and, why not, the large master bedroom bath tab 😉 The owner's decors look like there couldn't be anything different, they fit and add value to the spaces with personality and respect for the spirit of the building. My fantasy is that he took some warmth to a more essential and maybe kind of industrial flavour. The architects tale was really engaging: thank you guys, there's still so much enthusiasm for the project, humility and love as long as proficiency. I grew up in Napoli too, so I hope you'll appreciate if I describe these 15 minutes, for everything written before, sweet, soft and intense as " 'nu babà ". Exactly how I think our homes should be, congratulations.
yet it is gentrified. This is actually beyond depressing. people celebrating and finding an architectural miracle to do tiny homes and container things like this while people have their quality of life in the brink
This was amazing! AD needs to feature more of these narratives. The celeb cribs are ok, but this is legit AD inspiration we want to see and learn about.
Oh my goodness... let me tell you. If I had that kind of money, I would DEFINITELY be interested in this style of living. Johnathan has done a marvelous... job decorating for the style of the shipping containers. Kudos to the amazing design team 🎉❤
Love it! If there was an earthquake or anything, this would be the safest building to be in since every container is a safe room with the structural strength bubble. If it fell, it wouldn’t crumble like a regular building full of concrete, glass and metal rebar.
AD always bringing something different! Absolutely love this house! Incredible concept by the architects! The layout of the interiors spaces is great. The theater is my fav spot. Love the terraces and how they all connect. Bravo to them it is beautiful.
What a cool couple! What they did is something I never thought I’d see in my city-instead of building yet another “luxury residence” like the other 5,000 everywhere you look, they built something unique n creative instead! Respect, so refreshing for once
Wonderful use of shipping containers. The architects shared their ideas and joy as they walked through the project with second owner transformations. Thanks.
I really enjoy this industrial style of house, and reusing materials such as containers is exactly what the world needs. Sadly it takes away the sustainability argument when only one person lives here. It seems to me that living truly sustainably cannot be luxurious
this is actually well done, understanding how to use discarded materials like this to make a cozy house multiple levels is beyond normal builder's thinking.
It’s wonderful to see the contrast between the steel elements and their thoughtful integration throughout the design. The interiors feel warm and inviting.
Outstanding video. It is wonderful to see these architects pushing the possibilities of using containers for 30 years. They have taken the concept so far and I'm sure they are not done.
Love this! And what a lovely couple! First time occuring to me that it must be hard for architects to let go of their creations that they are so proud of.
By far the best place I have ever seen, and I watch A LOT of these kind of videos, LOOOOVE that each floor got it's own terraces and that they are all connected, beautiful place.
Superb project and execution. This is the best container project ever. And the new owner's taste makes justice to this fantastic space. Also, Ada and Giuseppe are so sweet.
such cool people and cool house! new found respect for AD! you have inspired an architect here! love this video and explanation and the styling everything is just very innovative cool!
This is exactly what I want to see on AD, not the monstrous celebrity mansions. Love it.
yes.
EXACTLY!
I mean this probably costs millions, so it’s not like it’s really that different.
@@MattSezer millions as opposed to tens of millions, but yeah I'm lovin it.
Who do you think lives here? The fact you think this isn’t a monstrous mansion for a celebrity is laughable

I suspect the millions of views the celeb vids get speak louder than your one comment.
Says brad the Pitts!! 😂
Totally agree!
How nice that AD actually focused on Architecture and not celebrity for once.
They do both. That’s how they stay in business.
Your speaking facts Sad to say

They also have the best homes so lol
Giuseppe and Ada are the MOST charming and talented! Directing this video was such an honor! Love it so much 💖💖💖
*brilliantly done. this message is GARGANTUAN and i hope that it spreads wide.* 🚛🌇❤
You and your team created a beautifully constructed video to present the architects' creation and the new owner's vision thank you.
what did the house cost?
What a great video ❤
excellent job!!! I was just thinking of how well it was filmed. I hope (for us viewers) that you get more of these!
“Respond creatively to what humanity has push aside” beautifully said!
hi just echoing the voices saying this is the type of content we want
Views tell AD the opposite story. To me it's obvious why AD won't stop covering the cribs of the rich and famous.
@@user-wm3hu7lo1gexactly, these people are just vocal minorities, the general public loves to watch those types of videos
The fact this is in Brooklyn makes so much sense. Has an industrial look and feel to it. Shipping containers? Very creative tbh

This is what AD should strive to be. Make the architecture and interesting design the “celebrity.”
AD's audience clearly wants to watch celebrity houses.
I've seen the odd shipping-container house here and there before, but this is the nicest one I've seen by a distance.
They built an 375 apartments student accommodation comprises named Mill Junction in Johannesburg, South Africa back in 2014, using shipping containers.
The house is lovely and the designers are delightful. I would be very happy to see them in more videos showing off more of their projects.
I love not knowing who these people are and getting to know them via their beautiful works of art. Chefs kiss AD

There is nothing in this that is “saving the planet” lol. It is a giant townhouse with one occupant. Incredibly wasteful.
