It's so hard to find good Pastrami nowadays. Restaurants claim they have pastrami but when you order it it's just sliced deli meat you can buy at the grocery store. This looks like the real deal, hand cut from a brisket with the fat still on it. Great feature Munchies!
Yes. I grew up in LA and now reside in Texas. Can’t find pastrami like this here.. even the thin steamed pastrami sandwiches all the burger places in LA sell, I can’t find stuff like that either. Closest I’ve had was Yardhouse restaurant

The best pastrami sandwich I've ever had is indeed in California. But not in Oakland, but rather Oakdale. A hole in the wall called Ferrarese's. Whenever I visit my brother in Sacramento, we make the 3 hour round trip. It's that good.

I'm sure this is delicious but "best kept secret" makes it sound like a scrappy little place that's been around for a while... This place is relatively new and is located on what has to be the most expensive corner in Oakland/JLS. Not pooping on the food more the marketing tactic.
Hehe thanks Owen! I wish we rented out the entire space and it was our restaurant! The spot is simply a commissary kitchen we rent by the hour ( pop up), hence the limited operating hours. We are quite scrappy but we're trying very hard to get a brick and mortar of our own (a much smaller and lived in space).

Wow, this is like Pastrami or Reuben done as a grilled cheese. I would order this anytime, anywhere. East coast shops layer slabs of corned beef between layers of white bread, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and maybe some dressing but it's rare to see it griddle cooked.
