As someone who has ate at all of these places, I feel like Harry & Ida's is my favorite pastrami sandwich. The flavors are phenomenal. However, 2nd Ave Deli has the best pastrami I've ever had. 2nd Ave Deli pastrami with Harry & Ida's setup would be my ideal pastrami sandwich. Katz's is still a solid choice in my opinion, but you can't beat David's Brisket House's prices. I live in Brooklyn and David's is the best pastrami sandwich you can get at it's price point.
Yeah that 2nd ave meat looked on another level. I could be wrong, but it also looks like 2nd ave and Katz's use a lot more meat. So while they are expensive, it doesn't seem like a terrible value.

I've been to Katz. Absolutely amazing. Not sure if they are still open. I also ordered over the phone when I lived in NC. They sent it and I steamed it. 👌. There's also the Pastrami King out east.
I remember how excited my buddy was to take me to Katz's. I've gone a few times now and it's okay which isnt great for the price. Have to try the others.
I always thought Katz and 2nd Ave made a bookend couple, with Katz's being smokier and 2nd Ave being juicier, kind of summing up the two major approaches to pastrami. Having said that, the best pastrami sandwich is in Los Angeles, at Langer's. I make my own pastrami from beef short ribs, and its pretty killer too.
That's awesome. I'm in France now and they don't have brisket as a cut here at all so your short ribs approach sounds amazing. Got a good brine / spice mix you can share?
Love pastrami and eaten many great sandwiches in NYC over the years. My issue is who wants 3 pounds of meat? Maybe I am the odd one. A half pound would do these great sandwiches justice alone.

I agree with you. She was passive aggressive the entire time.
I just stumbled across this video and by the 2:50 mark I was so excited to make it my mission to go enjoy Harry & Ida's sandwich strictly to try pastrami on something different from rye bread (which I'm not a big fan of). I opened another tab to check their hours of operation and instantly saw that they permanently closed the weekend before Thanksgiving... What a cruel, cold world we live in ='(
Ah shi
Both of them are top choices!!!!!!!
Every restaurant on video: “we have the best pastrami in the world”
Well, I know what I am having for lunch tomorrow. Thanks ladies for the tour and the reviews. Seeing you two young ladies consume those sandwiches was nothing short of delicious. Cheers 🥂
I've been to Katz. Absolutely amazing. Not sure if they are still open. I also ordered over the phone when I lived in NC. They sent it and I steamed it. 👌. There's also the Pastrami King out east.
Someone judging a competition with already a bias going in. Yeah, that makes sense.
Well I mean that’s her favorite pastrami sandwich place so
Lol this comment is so silly. Does she not go there because she likes the place? 🙄
Well if she lives in the area I’m not surprised there are places she already knows. At least she was honest about it.
She is entitled of her biased and she was so open minded, especially when she already made up her mind for the best pastrami sandwich.
Christ, $22 sandwich better add years to my life
LOVE THE PICKLES 😍😍
I was so excited to watch this video, and then I saw the hosts. I literally just screamed NO out loud in my house.
Grown ass man lol
Why
I remember how excited my buddy was to take me to Katz's. I've gone a few times now and it's okay which isnt great for the price. Have to try the others.
Aye every last one of those pastrimi sandwiches looked 🔥🔥🤤🤤
$17.5 thats my lunch for a whole week :-D
That's my lunch for a whole month
Hahaha
@@TheCeraization not the matter of budget, but food price is way lower
Katz was amazing when I went. 10 out of 10. I thought I didn't like Pastrami, until I tried that place.
Undoubtedly Sarges on third and 36th. I lived on 35th and had stuff delivered all the time and the hotdogs! Omg!
Mocha brown with the braids? My future wife! Beautiful!
Clownish-Gambino 7:20?
I always thought Katz and 2nd Ave made a bookend couple, with Katz's being smokier and 2nd Ave being juicier, kind of summing up the two major approaches to pastrami. Having said that, the best pastrami sandwich is in Los Angeles, at Langer's. I make my own pastrami from beef short ribs, and its pretty killer too.
That's awesome. I'm in France now and they don't have brisket as a cut here at all so your short ribs approach sounds amazing. Got a good brine / spice mix you can share?
They all say they have the best pastrami in the world. Very humble.
They all looked good to me 🤤
Talking about the sandwiches right
Love pastrami and eaten many great sandwiches in NYC over the years. My issue is who wants 3 pounds of meat? Maybe I am the odd one. A half pound would do these great sandwiches justice alone.
They want to eliminate the human race. Globalist agenda at play here
Me. I need.
Katz isn't filling a normal sandwich like that bro.
I have never had a pastrami before but I love watching u guy's vdos
(3:01) "THAT marbling..." - Barely any..
Exactly!! I'm a fan of @foodinsider, but some videos are def epic fails in so many ways... 😏
What did you expect from the guy who tried to scam people with a soggy watermelon
