- In this episode, we're back to work with the building of our Hybrid Homestead. From foundation footings to the ridge cap of the metal roof, we have built this ourselves. Our biggest DIY building project to date and we're very pleased with our accomplishments. The next step is to build the cupola and start plumbing the building.

You are so right Boss, Frankie will be remembered by everyone. To be honest, the bond you two had was the reason I started watching your channel. Had to stop the video - I knew this was coming but it doesn't make it any easier. The tears are flowing JC and I can only imagine what you and Lori are going through. My daughter is going to be heartbroken - she absolutely loves Frankie!!! I am so so sorry for your loss - this one really hurts - Frankie was damn near human and such a wonderful, smart dog. They don't call them "man's best friend" for nothing. Prayers sent, god bless and take care. 😢

I wan't to see this coming spring if you get any flowers growing out of Frankie's grave - I've got two beagles in the back field and both of them had flowers grow up out of them. Reminded me of "Where the Red Fern Grows".
I have to confess that tears rolled down my cheeks as I heard of Frank's passing. Men's best friend is so loyal and trustworthy. Rest in peace, Frank! You brought a lot of joy to many people.

I've been watching you and Frankie's antics for years, while starting my own off-grid journey in NHs White Mountains. It's rare to have a dog you've never met give you so much happiness and laughs, but Frankie did. He will be missed.
Oh man's, I'm so sorry to hear of Frankie's passing JC! It is comforting to hear that his passing happened in the way it did however. I've been watching your channel for so long, I can't help but get teary eyed. As a matter of fact it was my son and I that sent you some wine bottle bird feeders many many years ago, back when my 18 year old son was just a little guy.... We are so sorry of Frankie’s passing. We have had you guys in our lives for years. Frankie helped with everything; cleaning up wood, getting you a beer, getting his snacks, etc. We’ve been watching him grow and becoming such a great friend and companion. We’re heartbroken 💔 Hopefully you, Lori and Tildy will get through this together and things will get easier as time goes on. Frankie was a good boy and a fun and loving companion. Pets bring us such love and happiness. It’s heartbreaking when they move on without us. Frankie is close, just around the corner, waiting patiently until you all will be reunited. He’s having fun while waiting though. Romping through the woods I’m sure. 😊❤

Frankie was amazing reminds me of my Rylee he passed last July 2022 he was 17 years 2 months and 2 days. had him since he'd been 3 weeks old. Nothing like a great dog with all their love and loyalty best friendship i ever had. I loved watching you and Frankie having fun pal's to the very end. No words express how much they are missed. Thinking about this more this morning...at my Daddy's funeral as I was broken down my wife's 98 yr old grandmother took me by the shoulders and looking straight into my teary eyes said Remember all you have Jim not what you lost and she nodded toward my wife and son...made it a little easier and it saved me that day. I try and remember her wisdom almost every day. Peace to you both.

Nothing better than a great dog! My dog is older and is almost completely deaf, but he gets up when I do every morning and rubs his head on my legs and stares at me till I say good morning. Then he lays at my feet. When I'm sick he won't leave my side. A good dog is a blessing. God bless you and yours

Boss, I’m so sorry to hear of Frankie’s passing…..Saying good bye to the dearest of dogs is a hurt and pain that is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do. Since Frankie passed, Tildy has started doing things she's never done, but they're things that Frankie always did. It's spooky but comforting :-)

So sorry to hear the news of Frankie’s passing he was certainly one of a kind. My thoughts are with both of you. When I lost my last dog #8 I said I was done, I didn’t want to go thru that again. However my wife saw to it that a beautiful golden puppy came into my life, so the journey starts again and it’s all good.
Frankie had a place in my heart. What a beautiful life he had and you both were so blessed by him as well as he was with both of you. If he must go he did it the most peaceful way and had a beautiful place to rest. I cant wait to meet him one day in heaven. Im glad Tildy is filling the space with love and being able to understand. Hi JC. I'm one of those who's been following you since the beginning. This moment was kind of expected because of Frankie’s age. You had a good run with him. Frankie was scarry-smart, gave you unconditional love, and was always happy to go along with you, wherever or whenever... I can feel your pain, having myself been through the same. With time, the sadness dissipates and you only keep the fond memories. But I know you. It is in your nature to look at the bright side of things and carry-on. We all have to.

Well I just had a little cry on my own. Sending you both hugs from a far, for support. 💞This is not an easy time for sure, as I’ve been through it myself. Frankie was such an amazing and smart dog too!!! I’m glad you found him a beautiful & peaceful resting place near your future cabin. In the spring you can plant some flowers as we did. We buried Marley the same way you did next to the lake in her bed with her toys in a cedar box. We actually bought a Fat Albert spruce tree and planted her below in it. This way nobody in the future would dig her up. Hang in there and love you both pieces!!!💞
Thank you Sandy. We will plant some Juniper bushes there. At the cabin, his favorite place to hang out was beneath the juniper bush so well give him some for all eternity :-)
@@thebossoftheswamp you choked me up tonight on your last video. Kind of crazy as we had our last meeting tonight with a foster taking care of a rescued dog that we were trying to adopt. They accepted us finally and a new pup is coming home this week! Took us 2 years as after loosing our last one, as it just hurts too much. We are all excited but all three of us want to truly send our heartfelt condolences to you both as we totally get it!!! Not an easy time. I’m sure Frankie will truly appreciate the juniper bushes with perhaps some of Lori’s favourite Zinnias too. You like building things with stones too. Just saying. ;) You both hang in there and spend more time in church! It’s good for the soul and the videos can always wait…

My daughter came home from dialysis. She is usually whipped, and takes a nap in her recliner. But November 14th, 2022 she never woke up from her nap. She had died peacefully too.
On November 20th, 2022 a very dear friend lost his fight with cancer. He was a very remarkable man. Roger will never be forgotten by hundreds of people either but of his caring as a 4H leader of children in the horse whole which we were a part of also.
So, this month, and this year, we have lost some of the world's best. And they all died very peacefully, in their sleep. But they were fantastic in life, so they had the best passing possible.
All have left behind some fantastic, joyful memories. Take care.

That's the hardest thing to do is to put down a loving dog. He had a great life. He was both a blessing and blessed. Sorry for your loss. I've been there and it still hurts. We will all remember him fondly.

I love your tribute to Frankie. I lost 4 dogs in 5 years and have been without one for 2 years now. As much as I love having one of those beasts aggravating me the thought of going through another loss is almost too much... I will get another one day, but man they don't last as long as they should... God Bless!

Frankie was, indeed, a wonderful dog for sure. But you are the one developed him into the dog we all loved. Frankie was born with the potential to be the dog we all enjoyed, but you are the one that formed him into what he became. What a great life you gave him and I thank you for sharing him with us.

Hello JC and Lori. I do not like dogs, as a matter a fact you could even say I hate dogs BUT I cried all the way through the patreon video and this one.
