- In this episode I'm stumping out the road to our new cabin build and giving some updates on the garden and our life, living off the grid in the New Hampshire woods.
Homesteading off the grid and on the mountain certainly has its challenges but there's no place we'd rather live. We restored the old camp and transformed it into a cozy home for ourselves, then we cleared more land, built a workshop and greenhouse and in spite of the challenges of living on ledge -we succeeded in creating an abundant garden. Little by little we're reaching our goals of having a self sufficient homestead.

I used to love watching you and Frankie playing outside, fetching your beer, etc. But, when you’re aren’t happy doing something (and you don’t have to do it) don’t do it! Take care of yourself.
Quality is always better than quantity. I am 72 and have come to recognize that reduced stress is a key element is a healthy life. Having less obligations, less time sensitive projects, and less to manage is the obvious solution. I will always look forward to your videos.
I think you missed us as much as we missed you.

I totally understand what you mean about the stress of videoing. We've done a video every day for five years. Time to step back for us to. People just don't realize what's involved in doing it. Loving the journey your on. We're getting ready for this hurricane this morning. Our mast is just getting ready to start falling if the storm doesn't do to much damage.

Grows older, and wiser, yes for sure, was glad to see another video this morning, miss your weekly videos, but certainly understand it takes a lot of your time to film and all that's involved with getting it edited and everything, you both are so very lucky with the 10 acres, you got access to private dock area,such a blessing to have, keep enjoying what you both are doing, post when YOU feel like it, we will be waiting for your videos, prayers were answered when you received a great doctor's report, continued prayers from Tennessee

We're lucky we have a backhoe, bulldozer and a payloader which was basically used for our land here in the Adirondack Mountains. Now people hire him for projects.
Still do baled hay which we sell exclusively to a lady who breeds horses.
Believe it or not a lot of UA-camrs are cutting back as well almost the same reason.

I was dismayed watching your last video, thinking you might not post again, but it is your life. Now, if it happens that you just post when you want to, I think that is a win for you and a win for us. You post when you want to, and we get films you really wanted to make. Hope things go well.
That is one thing you have over us here in Kentucky, the Loon. I have always loved hearing the cry of the loon. That's o.k., at least I don't have to shovel as much snow. 😜

Great to see and hear from you JC. You have validated your thoughts regarding slowing down on producing YT videos. This time off has allowed you to recalibrate and be productive. I just turned 60 and in the process of building a new home, moving my RV under a shelter, planning on purchasing mountain land and building a cabin. All while running my company and raising my 4 adopted kids. People ask me why dont i just rest on the weekends. Being productive is my best form of therapy.
Your " stellar" bloodwork results bought a smile to my face , as I am confident it did to all of those whom are fortunate to watch your vids. Keep on keepin on brother.

I too know what you mean about what is and what's not good for the soul. It's the difference between being told what to create on a timeline, like(commercial art,) and being free to just enjoy a creative process, like fine art. One's a pain in the neck and the other soothes the soul. Less stress is what it's about. You lovely people enjoy it. We are here for you. Stay stellar!

So good to see you and hear how positive things are going for you and Lori. Praising God for your stellar results and we'll keep on praying for continued good health. My husband has been blessed as well with Stellar results after his heart attack due to a blood clot and diagnosis of a rare Leukemia, he's been 1-1/2 yrs and feeling 200% better than the previous year. Looking forward to you popping in and enjoy your time prepping for winter and the new homestead. God Bless you both and of course the dogs too *wink*

I cannot speak for anyone but myself, but as a viewer I have cut back on my UA-cam viewing. Their policies of cutting income to channels like yours and the gun community have soured the experience.
I followed you when you put out one or two a month and will continue to do so no matter the volume of videos you produce. You do you and that is what is great about your channel. You don’t “create” content, you record your activity that you do whether or not there is a camera.
So from one long time sub, thanks for what you’ve done and I look forward to whatever you produce. God bless you, Laurie and your “kids.”

I totally understand. I am almost 70 and feel a lot the same thoughts. Have lost friends to cancer, should have died myself from a massive Pulmonary Embolism. Everyone has these thoughts. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. Enjoy your life while you can. I will watch when you publish!
