    Actually, I do enjoy hand sanding. It adds a personal touch.

      I have grown to enjoy it more with time, especially since I take the blade up tp a higher grit before doing it. I appreciate you watching.

    Excellent video and great looking knife. Im assuming its 5160? How did you like it for edge holding and sharpening?

    • @Mysticmountainforge
      @Mysticmountainforge  Місяць тому

      Thanks! I believe it is 5160 as well, it has held up extremely well, I use it with both a plastic and wood cutting board and it has worked out great. I appreciate you watching.

    Great video. Is that press you used at the beginning of the vid the one you fabricated in Alaska from a wood splitter?

    • @Mysticmountainforge
      @Mysticmountainforge  2 роки тому

      Thanks! This one is the first one I had, it is also made out of a log splitter, but it is made to be used strictly as a forge press, the one I used in Alaska is still there. Thanks for watching, I greatly appreciate it!

    What's the thickness of that knife

    • @Mysticmountainforge
      @Mysticmountainforge  2 роки тому

      The thickness at the spine where the handle ends is 0.19 inches with a steady distal taper to the point. The tang is also tapered. The width of the blade at the ricasso is 2.53 inches with the final blade edge thickness at .010 inches before sharpening. I appreciate you watching, Feel free to ask if there is anything else you would like to know.
