      Your welding is good enough to do the job. Why don't you use a saturated borax solution insead of the quenching oil to ensure forge welding in the beginning? It would penetrate the layers better and you have use borax later anyway.

      @@alexandermalahov9602 I agree that a super sharp knife is dangerous. but one is aware that the blade is dangerous and pays close attention. while a dull knife or simply a bad knife makes the job more difficult and dangerous.. the first reason is that a dull knife can get out of hand even simply when cutting onions or aubergines. the second reason is that if one thinks that the knife is dull or that it can cause minor damage, he can cut himself or hurt himself more easily because he pays less attention. this is my opinion ( I’m chef )

    Nice work my man! I did my Integrals Just like you for a Long Time but i Switched up to bolt on screw handle constructions and the big advantage is That you dont Need a tang at all. You can Just Grind flat the back of your integral at 90degrees and Drill a hole for a m6 or m8 threaded bolt and then Just cut the thread. Safes a Ton of Time and helps me with the etching of my gomai and damascus because of the removable handle. Best Greetings from Shirknives 🙌🏽

      @jhublades  9 місяців тому

      @rudigertaghinejad6607 9 місяців тому +2

      Hey Jesse,
      No worries Its super durable. Ive started with m8 but switched to m6 because Its More strong then Ever needed. Helps me a lot with the facettes of my knife without worrying about grinding into the Tang or what Not. You Can use loctite Strong for the end of the bolt in the Tang or 24h epoxy. Was a gamechanger for me and Even helps with less pattern distortion. A Good anneal is needed but Even drilling in Apex Ultra is no Problem. Hit me up if There Are questions

    Amazing Damascus knife and quality of the content. Forging is so entertaining and magnificent art. Maybe one day I'll try to make my own knife in a forge.

    Also, when using calipers, make sure you regularly calibrate them and watch out when you measure you're using the same part of the jaws to get measurements. You'll probably know, already, that if you use the very tips of the calipers you'll get a different measurement than if you use the meat of the jaws.

    I watched this video my first time on your channel. I only had two minutes and stayed for the entire thing. You are a true craftsman and it was a privilege to watch you execute that craft. I hope to someday be able to afford one of these knives. Until then, I will come by and watch their genesis

    I have the Coal Iron 25 ton and got the full width T dies. I ever so slightly ground the smaller side, top and bottom, a little rounded so they will draw out much less aggressively than the combo dies. Works great.
