- Here's the Urn play through for Eeyrie from our 2017 record. A huge thank you to Zildjian cymbals for sending me the entire K series to use in this series, it's amazing how diverse these cymbals are. From extreme metal to light jazz...
Very happy with this mix personally, good guy John Douglass killed this one for me. This is what my drums sound like, and it's replicated nicely on this track. I spent a lot of time writing drums for this track in particular, it's a long crescendo build up to the 7/8 rhythmic riff, and it kind of takes off from there. As usual, there are no samples on the snare or toms, they are all natural, and it seems a lot of people are going this way once again also which is great to see. Viva la naturale. This track is all one take also, with no quantizing. and I always try keep it that way for the flow of the video. I really hope you enjoy this one, more to come!

I discovered NeObliviscaris while watching drumming videos, fell in love instantly with the music. I have been to all the shows in NYC in the last few years and will continue to go to all the future shows. All the guys in the band are amazing but Dan... he is just a GOD when it comes to drums!!! All those complicated patterns and he plays them flawlessly live, the whole band live plays every single note clearly as if it was the cd playing and people making noise. So glad I discovered them and grateful for their amazing music!!! I have a picture with Tim and people keep asking me if that was James Franco!!! lol You guys fucking rule!!!
When you listen to the album it just flows so well you dond't think too much about how difficult it is to play. Until you see this.

Seriously man, you've been playing drums for not even half as long as me, and yet you're 5x my superior. It's amazing, but sadly makes me want to give up, lol! Sure, my bands fastest track is at 250bpm, but speed isn't everything, and the song is really challenging for me even though it's pretty straight forward. You play with such finesse and your creativity is second to none. I've tried so hard to come up with more creative drum parts, but I can't even come close to what you're able to think up. Damn man, I only wish I could be as awesome as you. Flawless performance.

@@DanPresland Thank you Dan! Your creativity on the drums amazes and inspires me Dan. I own a lot of old Zildjian models. Right now on my drums I have an Old 20" China Pang from early 80's. Also an old 22" very thick and big bell ride cymbal from the late 70's early 80's, the new reissued 22" A Zildjian Swish Knocker and last but not least a 19" China Boy High. I love Zildjian! I do have other brands but the Zildjian sound is deeply embedded in my DNA. Those 17" and 19" Chinas that you are using reminds me of the old 20" Pang china that I have.
