I embraced my grey hair, along with the aging process. I'm not so keen about the soft, wrinkled chicken skin on my arms, but I do feel great at 67 so no complaints.

That's about it. Very high fat to protein ratio. But I was vegetarian for 25 years prior to going carnivore, so the harm built up slowly, no doubt taking a toll on my skin.
If you don't want chicken skin try intermittent fasting for autophagy. Your body cleans up the broken down collagen and replaces with with fresh new. And much more. My mom is 77 and looks 65 for all the fasting she does. Oh, and she's slimmer and more in shape than she EVER was.
The most effective thing to keep the hair follicles from dying is to rid them of DHT, which will choke out the follicles and kill them. Best way, topical polysorbate 80, an emulsifier that will rid the follicle of the waxy sebum that no shampoo can do, which gets rid of the DHT as well. This is not new, it was called the Helsinki formula back in the 80s. it is under appreciated because people are more interested in' growing' hair, than 'keeping' the hair they have. You can get polysorbate 80 from Bulk Apothecary, etc.
I have news for you younger viewers ( I'm 69) about hair greying and/or falling out. None of it matters. None of it is worth worrying about or spending money on. Ever. All that does matter is maintaining health for a long healthspan. Leave the vanity/appearance issues to the young and dumb.
40 year old woman. Needling my scalp with a 0.5mm roller once or twice a week is helping my hair regrow. I wasn't compliant with a 1mm stamp, it hurts too much. Also diet/lifestyle to manage insulin resistance and balance high T to E/P ratio has helped the male pattern baldness along with the roller.
Did you have to take hormones at all? Only asking as my doc has mentioned it is expensive to do (or it would be for me) or is the lifestyle and excercise enough to balance it enough to see a difference in hair? Only started going through hormonal changes last few years but I suspect it might have started even earlier.
My mom was completely grey and my dad had very thin hair by the time they were my age. I noticed both when I turned 60. I began taking my health, diet and lifestyle seriously, and at 69, my hair is darker and thicker than it’s been in many years!
*FASTING* gives you *ALL* these benefits. I've been fasting for 6 months (IF, OMAD, 2MAD, and some 3-day fasts). I'm 51 and have noticed my grey disappearing! *LADIES,* get Dr. Mindy Pelz's book, "Fast Like a Girl," it's *AWESOME.* I just finished it and am about to read it again.
@@immahuman9483 Yes, I read the book, too. You can fast _around_ your cycle and be 100% fine. Days 1 - 10 of your monthly cycle are when you can fast as much as you want with no ill effects on your hormones; if you wanted to do a 10-day water fast you could. In fact, I often do a 2-day fast every month. But, of course, a woman can use her cycle as an excuse not to fast if she wants to.
Two things which have helped my hair grow: --1 -2 minute handstands, basically this is the INVERSION method of hair growth and it gets blood back into the head more efficiently than anything -- boiling rosemary and mint in WATER for 20 minutes with lid on the pan then 20 minutes simmering with lid off to make an infusion of the herbs. Keep in a spray bottle in the fridge for a week at a time to massage onto thinning parts of the scalp twice a day. Spray and massage the infusion to encourage blood flow and nutrients to the scalp while reducing inflammation by gentle removal of dirt/oil/sebum/dust from parts of the scalp.
I started greying at 18. I’m now 53 and retired. Got bored so now do acting. Non verbal all background work as an older grey haired primarily in movies and done commercials. It’s fun. Thanks to my grey hair.

From age 45 to 59 my hair gareyed and fell out. From thick lush to thin mousy. Hairdressers asked if i had chemo, covid.... But changed diet bc everything else seemed to be aging at astronomical rate. Couldn't reduce stress yet, family related, as well as this crazy last few years, but i did eliminate seed pils, and ear nearly alll fruits veggies nuts, seeds, and my hens eggs, fish. My gray nearly gone, and a thick hair growing. Still trying to fix what i thinl was mitochondrial damage, but hair definitely refectiin of feeling and getting better. And honestly knowing animals not farmed is huge plus.
Very informative! I started greying at 17 and now at almost 39, it's mostly around the bang area.. some scattered throughout. My mom's hair was 50% grey by 38. I noticed every single one of my grey strands was dark brown/black at the root after consuming lots of baked potatoes. Once I stopped, my new growth was grey. I tried it again a few months later (eating lots of baked potatoes) and the root was dark brown/black once again. I couldn't find any studies on grey hair reversal and potatoes... so, I was shocked that something as simple as eating a root vegetable was enough for melanin production.... in my case. As for my hair loss, it was always due to a nutritional deficiency from extreme dieting for long periods, Senna tea, and Covid. It took anywhere from 1 yr to 3 yrs for the massive shedding to stop... depending on the cause. Eating enough fruit, veggies, and legumes.. along with diluted Braggs apple cider vinegar scalp rinses, water/dry fasting (sometimes once or twice a week.. sometimes twice a month), and drinking a gallon of water daily helped dramatically. I also include a brazil nut daily.

As a 55 year old with no grey hair, this is interesting information! I thought my high cholesterol carnivore diet would have caused my hair to fall out by now!
I've always had a hairline that looks like it's receding but it's never changed much. My maternal grandfather died with a full head of gray hair in the pattern I have. I did begin graying around 40. The graying could have been associated with degenerative disc disease, I guess. I did treat that with edibles and vapor. Since going keto, my inflammation improved wildly. Can't say there's been any un-graying of my hair. My skin is wildly better, though. I'd say I don't appear to have aged much in the past five years, except maybe the graying has continued.
Put more meat in your diet and go carnivore. Google it. UA-cam it. The hair can grow back in (mine did) and it can change back to in. Do not accept it as it’s a sign something is wrong.
My mom had almost no grey hair when she died at age 83 (Ukrainian) but my dad had grey hair in his 30's (English). So I'm hoping I am more on my mom's side. In my late 40s I have almost no grey hair.
Started graying a bit after the loss of my best friend and then got put into an intense leadership role at work. Left the job and feeling wayyyy less stressed!
Great content overall. Really appreciate all of your videos. I went carnivore about 5 months ago. Hair got thicker, denser and reversed gray hair. In my opinion its related to minimized systemic inflamation. I do cardio 3-4 times a week.Strength train 4 times a week. Works for me!
@@ccaselli7 It's the opposite -- a high animal diet will drive inflammation down. It's the sugar, seed oils and ultra processed foods that will drive your inflammation up.

First of all, I like to wish you a Happy Birthday, Mate. Secondly, your content is always on cue. Thirdly, the pandemic cause so much stress in my life that I lost a ton of hair, but somehow it's gradually grown back. . I'm 60 years old this year, so it's expected that thinning out is inevitable
Yeah it's a correlation i'm 50 years old no wrinkles at all but i got white hair since i was born ( 5 hairs when i was born) the temple area and the laterals of the beard are white since 35 years old(strange thjey are like this for the last 15 years). My point is that you can't beat genethics !
I think grey hair doesn’t necessarily makes a person look ‘old’ unless the person has wrinkle sagging skin, that said, if a person has wrinkled sagging skin, he/she would look old anyway whether with grey hair or not🤔
Rob English is a hair expert who explained hair loss is often related to skin tightening on the head and usually not excessive dht or testosterone. As we age testosterone is lower nut higher and many men grow beards and hairy chests while simultaneously losing head hair. He explains scalp massage. I use a high percussion sports massager and topically zinc and vitamin A and Aloe Vera. Copper citrate helps prevent graying plus the enzyme catalace. Topically zinc and copper and A plus aloe vera and occasionally DMAE and niacin with a flush. Rob English has a website and a video on What I've Learned channel
Growing up I had so much hair, there wasn’t a spot to be he had, everyone would always compliment me on it and tell me I would never go bald. Starting around 30 I began to grey, didn’t bother me just started to dye it. Got married when I turned 39 had my first kid at 41.. and then it started. Looking back at pictures you can see it, I didn’t notice until I turned 44, my hair is receding I just turned 49 it sucks but I just tell my self I had a better run then half the men in America.
One of the strategies I think works well is needling followed by red light therapy. I do it ever few weeks and does look to keep the thinning at bay. On the grey front I've yet to find something that works😊
After you needle, out any growth products on after. I was using minoxidil, and rosemary and peppermint essential oil blend in coconut oil.you'll get more benefits
Fasting. I can't believe it wasn't part of the presentation - stem cells are generated, human growth hormone...fasting is the absolute fountain of youth.
Hair loss is fairly straightforward. It's caused by DHT(dihydrotestosterone) DHT can be lowered with medication or supplements. Saw palmetto and pygeum can reduce testosterone conversion to DHT. It does this by interfering with 5 alpha reductase, reducing total DHT, which can also raise testosterone, or binding of the DHT with androgen receptors, preventing their effect. DHT is also responsible for enlarged prostates as men age, so is a good one to address anyway... Imo the reduced and reversed male pattern progression is just a plus. The drugs minoxadil And finasteride do this via the same actions, and seem to be a a bit more effective.
Anyone else notice that Mike possibly dyed his hair for this episode? I like Mike and he gives good advice but sometimes between the myoxicence ads and stuff like this, it causes me the think. Personally I'd feel more confident in my source of information if there wasn't self promotion involved.
If men have high DHT and experience male pattern baldness then Finasteride or Dutasteride hands down are the solution to slowing down or even reversing hair loss. Nizoral shampoos are weak adjunt treatments.
Probably genetics. I am 41 and still have no gray hair. But talking about hair loss, I started to loose some as I age, and then I started to watch some videos about washing hair less frequently. I am washing my hair now only once a month for over a year and my hair has never been better. I also don’t have split ends
So for most of the videos I watch on UA-cam I need to listen on 1.25x playback speed. The tempo of this channel is perfect, direct, concise, not biased. Please, you do you, do not artificially change your speed.
The copper/ zinc balance seems like a subject to explore more- it seems not well understood yet. It's worth mentioning that the Copper tyrosinase enzyme seems like a good way to go (got perfect hair at 42), BUT, I don't know if that's causality... maybe look into that enzyme and the natural food sources that supply it.
Too much copper is toxic and can be fatal or lead to serious problems extra copper can kill liver cells and cause nerve and brain cells damage . So be careful We need only trace amounts
My hair was super thick and curly 8 years ago. I had to use thinning shears to make my hair straighten out. I stsrted smoking and drinking coffee around then and since my hairline receded pretty far and has thinned out pretty badly. Don't do drugs guys
same here brother, i started drinking coffee and smoking and in a few years my hairline looks like a 50 year old. i stopped it and the hairloss and thinnning stopped. some of us are very sensitive to it
Thank you for your intelliegent and thoughtful explanations of hair loss, and much more. Kudos! Let me add, the way you appoach your subject is really appreciated,
Redheads seem to keep their colour longer. I am not complaining. Nearly 53 and still red. I have blonde highlights in places now. But we tend to go white, not grey. I always get told I look younger, but I had cancer at 40 so my metabolic health could not of been good!! When I hit menopause my hair went like straw and came out in handfuls. Now on HRT and it's LOADS better!
As you said, red gradually fades to be the color of straw, and an eighty-year-old cousin was told by her hairdresser that her hair would never be really white.
I've been a hospital nurse for many years so I've seen many naked people and redheads even when they're older and grey on top their private parts are still red..I've only seen this with redheads
I have a theory that hats may decrease circulation to the top of the scalp. Seems many people who wear ball caps are balding. It would be interesting to study people with a thick full head of hair in later years. What lifestyle practices do they have in common to keep those thick locks.
I have been doing keto and intermittent fasting for about 2 years. For my skin, I’ve noticed a huge improvement with regard to fewer wrinkles, decreased age spots, and overall smoother complexion, attributed to autophagy. For my hair, I’ve been on minoxidil for about 4 years, due to thinning of my hair. My hair is becoming grayer at 52, but seems like it has become a little fuller on top. So, minoxidil combined with autophagy seems to be helping, although I’d like it if it were much fuller.
Autophagy ROCKS. I'm 51 and my fine lines are going away, my HGH is building muscle as if I were going to the gym (I'm not, but I have a very strong Labrador we just adopted that I'm training to walk properly on a leash, LOL), and my general zest for life has been increasing steadily. Seems my gray is lessening, too. I fast a lot; I had a histamine problem (that I solved) that I never want to deal with again.
@@allhimwithme5115 I also agree with the HGH. I lift a few weights (only dumbbells) a few times a week and do high intensity interval sprints once a week. Seems like I’m putting on more muscle than I did in my 20s and 30s.
@@allhimwithme5115Yeah, I typically fast daily, from around 18-20 hours. I’ve been doing this for over a year, and feel great. Regarding hair, I guess I’d rather be slightly graying than being bald. There are some people who can get away with no hair, sporting a cool dome. Not me.
This video is on point. I (26M) went bald at 22. I was an extremely skinny gamer and had lots of stress. Maybe if I start eating a lot, work out and go out I'll regain some hair?
Rob English also explained how botox sometimes increased hair growth. Reduce stress with scalp massage Dr Berg recent video explains enzyme catalace and copper help prevent graying hair reducing peroxide. Liver is good source for both copper and catalace. Glutathione also reduces peroxide. Massage with zinc and copper and A and niacin and DHEA and Aloe Vera and occasionally with DMAE. Consume hydrolyzed collagen.
It's largely genetic. Simple as that. Yes, you can ACCELERATE it with your diet/lifestyle choices. Sleep, low stress, whole foods diet, exercise. The classic combo. Thinning can be attributed to bad quality water as well or bad habits during showering and of course testosterone related factors. Otherwise, its all a genetic roulette..
Men with hair loss have low testosterone and insulin resistance. When testosterone is low so is Shbg. So there is more free T that can be converted into DHT. When cortisol is high the DHT relationship is exacerbated. When humans don't get enough carbs in their system they begin to shed as well but insulin resistance makes it hard to absorb glucose. Low T also means Low estrogen synthesis. This increases inflammation and oxidative stress causing you to deplete Superoxide dismutase and glutathione. Hence the pathway for cardiac dysfunction and many more. You can correct this by having a nutrient dense diet. Reverse your insulin resistant and maintain optimal body composition. Apples and blueberries are great fruit that helps with hair. As both proanthocyanin b 2 and anthocyanin have shown to at the moment ameliorate insulin resistant.
And also increase keratin synthesis. I have low testosterone and insulin resistant. I display the classical frontal alopecia. My calcium is also high and so is my protein intake. Since trying to increase both testosterone and Shbg my hair has stop receding. And atm I am still fighting both testosterone and insulin resistance.

This is a very interesting topic. Thank you for some solutions. Fortunately, so far, I have not yet reached colorless grey. I agree with some of your preventatives, like preventing insulin resistence, and wearing a hat. It may help to eat good food that has natural pigments like green and red vegetables. Thanks.

Androgens, usually linked with PCOS. Reduce inflammation, reduce carbohydrate consumption (sugar and starchy), learn about iodine (and if you decide to supplement with it, include selenium, an important cofactor). Interesting you say that Asian’s have less graying, I live in Japan in my 30’s all the people around me of a similar age have gray hairs, I see a lot of young people in their 20’s now with gray hair, most people I know have some gray hair and they are all under 40, it may be from stress, but I feel like for the Japanese they easily get great hairs
I travelled through China 10 years ago and the Chinese girl I was with who was 23 had at least 50 grey hairs as did most of the young people there..She said it was from stress I was more inclined to believe it was pollution or something in the water or food...It was hard to find a young person without some grey hairs
Gray can be a sign of many things, it is white hair that should be learning. White hair oftentimes is an indicator of being low or deficient in Iron, something we learned from Albert Einstein passing away, but also white hair can be an indicator of heart disease and even though you can reverse a lot of the issues and get better, that hair doesn't change back
Einstein's white hair was actually a sign of copper deficiency, as he died from an aneurysm (resulting from copper deficiency). Copper is essential for blood vessels to maintain strength and elasticity. An aneurysm occurs when part of an artery wall weakens, allowing it to abnormally balloon out or widen. Dr. Joel Wallach has discussed this. He mentions that decades ago half a crop of turkeys were lost to aneurysms, their feed was adjusted to include more copper, and that problem did not happen again. The turkeys that died also exhibited abnormal numbers of WHITE FEATHERS.
Besides hair loss and gray hair I’ve been dealing with Idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis. I believe they are related. I’ve been focusing on melatonin production since it is at the beginning of the pathway of production of melanin. Insomnia has been an issue for me the past decade but ive been working on it.
Dr. Joel Wallach has said that vitiligo (similar to condition you're talking about) is linked with celiac and copper deficiency. Copper is required for the body to produce melanin. Someone may not be fullblown celiac, but if they're eating gluten it can prevent absorption of nutrients as a result of damaging villi in intestines.
I lost tons of hairs on Carnivore, yes I was eating enough protein (3lbs a day) and minerals, carnivore for 6 months... I reverted back to omnivore and now im on minox and fina, hope I can undo the damage
Thanks for the informative video. One thing I’ve been curious about is scalp fibroses/hardening of the scalp in balding/bald men. I suspect there is a connection between scalp tension and the “stress” triggers discussed in the video (inflammation, diet, bpa exposure, excess sun, etc.). Im in the sun a lot too, but I wonder if a person can be okay in the sun as long as they have good adaption and don’t get burnt.
If you got thin hair or bald, widows peak etc... guys just buz it off. Theres no point in being depressed about it, being bald can feel good. Id argue you'd have more health damage from being depressed constantly than just buzzing it and accepting it.

I can’t directly supplement with iron so use black strap molasses instead. Fixes my iron levels but also packed with other nutrients like copper which prevents greys.
I started greying in my early 20s, i'm now 32 and my hair 60% white, i have a lot of hair and 0 hair loss though. I'm really not sure what's up with that
If Androgens cause pattern hair loss, then why don't men loose it at 18-20 when levels of androgens are the highest? The Androgen - Paradox is baffling. I think it's not higher levels of 'DHT' but, rather than the Genetic Predisposition of follicle's sensitivity to androgens.
Some people just go bald. It starts when your body starts producing dht. Some people it hits much harder. Androgenic alopecia is natural we just don't want it to be.
My old neughbor had a grapefruit tree. I had access to unlimited free grapefruit. I ate so many, juiced some for the entire season. Noticed my hair, nails and skin get healthier. Was it the vitamin c??
What about when someone is 39 or 40 and up isn't that around the age when grey hair starts to happen no matter what you do? Isn't gray hair just another part of the aging disease that there's nothing you can do about it? Or can it really be cured past age 40?
Mike has a fair amount of grey hair at age 40, so what does that tell you? He is doing sauna, exercising, taking supplements like glynac, taurine and many others, and paying attention to his diet.

Please 🙏🏻🙏🏻 how do I use polysorbate 80 on scalp as a dht blocker ?
My hair is falling out 😢😢
I have news for you younger viewers ( I'm 69) about hair greying and/or falling out.
E/P ratio? Whats that? And so 1mm Dermarrolers hurt and not good ? 😅. Gonna get the 0.5 mm
My mom was completely grey and my dad had very thin hair by the time they were my age. I noticed both when I turned 60. I began taking my health, diet and lifestyle seriously, and at 69, my hair is darker and thicker than it’s been in many years!

I think if you are past menstrual cycles that would be good to try! Otherwise, fasting can screw up women’s hormones.

Two things which have helped my hair grow:
--1 -2 minute handstands, basically this is the INVERSION method of hair growth and it gets blood back into the head more efficiently than anything
-- boiling rosemary and mint in WATER for 20 minutes with lid on the pan then 20 minutes simmering with lid off to make an infusion of the herbs.
I have rosemary and mint in the garden, will give this a try 🙏🏾

Rob English is a hair expert who explained hair loss is often related to skin tightening on the head and usually not excessive dht or testosterone. As we age testosterone is lower nut higher and many men grow beards and hairy chests while simultaneously
losing head hair.

Go carnivore and report back in 1 year. It could take less but both the hair and the colour should come back.
Yep good point. I also made a concoction that is an oil that contains rosemary and a few other bits. 😊. So I massage that in pre and post.
Hair loss is fairly straightforward.
It's caused by DHT(dihydrotestosterone)
DHT can be lowered with medication or supplements.
Yes, HRT after 50 is life changing for women. My hair is still thick and my skin still wrinkle free at 70.

If men have high DHT and experience male pattern baldness then Finasteride or Dutasteride hands down are the solution to slowing down or even reversing hair loss. Nizoral shampoos are weak adjunt treatments.
Use the holy trinity to deal with hair loss: 1) Finasteride 2) Minoxidil 3) Derma pen or derma rolling. This is from personal and anecdotal experience
Probably genetics. I am 41 and still have no gray hair. But talking about hair loss, I started to loose some as I age, and then I started to watch some videos about washing hair less frequently. I am washing my hair now only once a month for over a year and my hair has never been better. I also don’t have split ends

dr. wallach says grey hair is due to copper deficiency.
Copper deficiency is quite uncommon, whereas gray hair is quite common. I know Dr. Wallach, I wish it was that easy.
Yeah he’s wrong. Gray/thinning hair is much more complex than a single micronutrient deficiency

Redheads seem to keep their colour longer. I am not complaining. Nearly 53 and still red. I have blonde highlights in places now. But we tend to go white, not grey.

You are THE BEST!!! Greatly appreciate all you put out, Mike!!!!
Well done - fantastic comprehensive breakdown 👍

Copper for gray hair, supplement or eat apricots and liver!

I have seen some modest improvements with various treatments via photographic evidence (e.g. Greg Fahey's Thymic Regeneration via Pharmaceutical Intervention). I have not seen any miraculous results with any treatment or regimen.

I've always worn a hat outside (I'm 51, and I am outside for hours daily), and I have zero grey hair on my head, but my beard is nearly completely white. Interesting.
I had PCOS at 19 -- but I was also having chronic kidney stones and UTIS --- I stopped consuming processed salt because of my kidneys, and I also never got another Ovarian Cyst.
what is processed salt?
@@miresoman1769 processed sodium. that is "denatured"..
Excellent information! And yes, start with getting the health of your system back. Epigenetics is the concept here, environment dictates gene expression. Want to have better gene expression? Change the environment in a positive way. Cheers
