I have had Ticwatches,Huawei watch 1 and2, Amazfit Stratos, Amazfit x and Samsung Active2 Best of all was the Huawei 1,which is still working perfectly after all these years.My wife has the Amazfit x and loves it The Active2 does half of what I bought it for,but never Samsung again..ever! I ought it for ECG as I suffer from a.f. still no joy,after chasing them many times.Customer support is worse than Bixby. Now with the need for a samsung phone to make ECG work I've given up on Samsung.The Active 2 also over-heats on charging,which is dangerous. May go for the TW3, but will wait,as I think Amazfit are enabling ECG soon on the Zepp Z.Refuse to buy Apple,as I'm a long time Andoid user. You are a great reviewer.
Already ordered the Ticwatch Pro 3. Think it's the best value for Wear OS right now & I really like the styling. Also like the fact that you automatically get an 'always on' version that last for 45 days if needed. I agree that it's a bad sign Samsung is 'requiring' you use one of their overpriced phones to get the ECG...

Between a bad experience with Samsung's repair process (or, well, a long string of bad experiences) on a Galaxy Watch, and the move to limit features like ECG to people who own Samsung phones... I've ordered the Ticwatch Pro 3 as well.
Weight is a trick of the mind btw. Beats headphones would add metal weights to the inside of each ear to make it feel heavy because we subconsciously equate weight to quality
I found this a really impressive honest review. I have the original Galaxy watch and although Tizen is smooth, its pointless when the app support is so bad. My wear os Sony Smartwatch (from 5years ago) used to do so much more (app wise). I could check my cctv, use navigation, tweak odds and ends. Having to have a samsung phone is also really cheeky! I think i will be switching to ticwatch. The samsung hardware is really good but i just cant recommend it when using tizen.
You should probably clean the watch screen/glass if you are comparing screen/picture quality. Also similar watch faces would help. Ticwatch screen is all greasy and smudged.
Both watches were wiped clean at the start of the video. It's also important to show the oleophobic coating on each watch, obviously the TW doesn't do as good a job. Similar watch faces don't exist cross platform, I'm not comparing faces in the video but thanks for your ¢2
Great comparison of actual usage Not only specs. For C$165 , I ordered Honor magic watch 2 from China w free shipping it has Spo2 as well with all sport / sleep tracking. It would be great if you could at Honor watch to your comparison.
I will get the TicWatch for my free time. For work I wear my Amazfit Trex because it has everything I need there and the battery last around 12-14 days.
You can lock on to gps before you start an exercise. What you need to is add the exercise widget that says work out at the bottom. Once you have done that tap the workout button, it will take you to the work out page with the full list of available exercises to track. At the top of that page there is a gps and heart icon. Wait until they have both got a fix then you can start your exercise. Its daft on the other widget you can start your outdoor exercise without gps lock on.
Thanks for the tip! I never used the workout widget before.. It would just make sense to me that gps would lock on before the activity began, but guess not to Sammy..
Tizen despite lack of app support, still WAY more feature rich than Wear OS which is neglected as we know, and Wear OS 3 is basically exclusive to Galaxy Watch 4 anyway LOL. One thing Tizen is better at is the watch faces, Holy Crap is there a lot of them and for some reason they look better than on WearOS watches, no idea why. The application to design watch faces is better for Tizen too than what Google offers. Screen is so bloody tiny on the watch anyway that there only so much you can do with apps I guess, I was really disappointed with TicWatch that it does not have any form of sleep mode, some apps are better, some are just awful compared to Tizen, specially the health apps fucking sucks on WearOS. Its cool to have Google Maps on your smartwatch and control music etc and view messages etc, but Tizen already lets you view all messages and notifications etc you just have to make sure you enable the permissions, the fact that I have the same feature set using a Galaxy Watch on Xiaomi to a Samsung other than some sensor data not working, just says it all. But then again, no smartwatch is ever gonna be even 70% accurate on their sensor readouts, if you want accuracy, get a proper medical certified equipment and use that, wrist bands or arm wrap sensors that are accurate up to 99%
I have the Galaxy Watch LTE model which supports e-SIM so it can still function independently without a watch. I also like the look of the watch, the feel of the bezel, and the way Tizen OS works especially with Samsung Pay. The only negative I have is the lack of apps when compared to iOS or Wear OS, not that I need many apps. But it is good to have these if circumstances arise.

This is a good comparison. I've been considering the galaxy watch for the rotating bezel but i don't think i can take it to the mountains for 2 days without losing power.
GW3 is a nice watch but the Tizen appstore is horrible - I have the TicWatch Pro 2020 and for WearOS has more useful apps - not sure an upgrade to the TicWatch Pro 3 is necessary right now, but tempted 😃

If you are comparing screens, colors, brightness, then choose the same watch face on both... also, the light grey bazel (?) on the Samsung tends to influence the person, so take it for the comparison...
This review seems one sided toward the galaxy watch...I've had both and the tic watch is a shit ton better. This guy blew past the battery life explanation. Tic watch is much better. It jumps to essential mode automatically when battery is low.(not mentioned).
All modern watches and phones have a battery saver..that's nothing special about the tic watch. If you really own both watches,you know the GW is smoother than the TicWatch
How about the quality! The quality of ticwatch is like lottery! All sensors are broken after 1 weeks! Mobvoi support is really bad. When i search my problems on reddit, many people got the same troubles
Tic Watch 3 is not thinner than the Galaxy Watch 3. TicWatch 3: Watch Size 47x48x12.2mm . Galaxy Watch 3: Size: 45mm (45 x 46.2 x 11.1 mm). Dont know why you keep saying the TicWatch is thinner. Its actually the thickest of all current generation smartwatches. Maybe because you snapped on an extra bezel?

I leave my phone on vibrate when I have a watch connected so a chime would be nice. I also don't mind a vibration but the ticwatch 3s vibration motor is pretty weak and I often don't even feel it. Plus, it's all about options these days, isn't it.. So why not include more and select what works for you, but what might not work for others.
I am a senior now and the most important things to me on the watch are the Sleep app, and the health and heart rate apps. I do love all the fancy fun stuff too, but my sleep and heart monitor is the most important. What are maybe 3 top picks I should look into.? Thank you. James in Texas
You are right! Ticwatch pro 3 is like a shit. After 1 week, both heart rate sensor and sPO2 are broken without any reasons! Mobvoi refuses to warrant! I don’t make anything wrong! Wtf
Nice review. Confused whether I should go for the ticwatch pro 3 or GW 3. The price in India is the same for both. Difference is Samsung have their service centers here in case of any defect however for ticwatch I would have to send it back to China. I have already burnt my hand with the wear os watch (fossil gen 3), the exp was terrible to say the least.
Thats true. The thing is they are importing it from China so the duties levied by the Indian Govt. Is high. Hence the high price tag. They are offering 5% off right now. So works out to 28k

@@Armaan8134 i wrote to them. There are none in India. They told me that one has to send the watch back to China in case of any defect. I use a note 10. I think I am inclined to go for the TW 3 solely bec of the apps and the prmose of Google that massive improvements for wear os is round the corner

Just sold my Galaxy Watch 3 LTE and bought the Ticwatch Pro 3 because the new SD4100 can handle Wear OS without choking. I prefer Wear OS over Tizen because of the App support. I found Tizen to be a little boring.
The only thing ticwatch has over GW3 is battery life. If Samsung gets their shit together and improved battery life this wouldn't even be a fair comparison.
i had the Galaxy watch 3 for one day and returned it! notifications from my phone to the watch were horrendous? The delay from phone to watch was lengthy and at times non-existent. It was a pain just to get email notifications on the watch? thank goodness Samsung is going to be using wear os in the next watch.
TY for shearing. the Tic pro 3 Seams to be my best option so far. Any 1 know if it has a tally app like golf strokes ? Also I need it to display my HR 24/7 without having to push a button. PLZ let me know if it can do these for me :)
I just have one question why didn't you put the same face on both watches because you have the Samsung watch looking shiny and vibrant with the color scheme but you didn't use the same scheme on the other watch and I was just wondering was that done by the desire to make one watch look dull compared to the other if so Samsung must pay you well
You must not know about the difference between tizen and WearOS. If you did, you would know that they are different and the same watch faces do not exist on both platforms. If you find that check that I got from Samsung ,send it over bc I never got it.

Now in Germany, Ticawtch Pro 3 GPS and Galaxy watch 3 are very close to each other in pricing (Actually galaxy watch is a bit cheaper than ticwatch!) but I can not decide which one to buy because I think galaxy watch has more premium build quality but in the other hand Samsung Pay doesn't work for wearables in Germany and also Bixby is a disaster! Brilliant review. The Ticwatch is a bit annoying. I find it slow and laggy. Google support is OK. It doesn't seem to do much on the watch. I always have to go back to my phone. It always gives permission errors when I try to get Google to make calls or do much at all really and there is just so much bloat with all the Mobvoi apps.
I own the older ticwatch Pro 2 and from my experience with it I woukd avoid buying another ticwatch. My watch is very buggy, battery life sucks and its so slow.
I've had the active 2 and the sleep tracking was no wear near as good as my 1st gen tic watch pro... I did just buy the tic watch pro 3 and it's awesome. ECG isn't that accurate anyway... No where near using a real ECG.
Always like the watches from samsung, but this year they should have put larger battery and not smaller. Not good battery on the 45mm IF you use it on daily tasks. If samsung this year just could have done 47-49mm and push the battery it would be so much better. :)

If this function doesn't exist on the new Ticwatch Pro 3, then that's a deal=breaker for me. Workout auto detection works flawlessly with the original Galaxy Watch I currently own.

I did installed a browser on my ticwatch pro 2020and it works fine for the most part, but it is a bit clunky (because of the keyboard, so logins are very difficult) , but except that it's fine.
I HATED the Galaxy watch 3 and I'm an avid samsung user. There's no app support is horrible and it just felt dated. I love the ticwatch 3 and it's not even close comparing the two except the screen on the Samsung is a bit better. Ticwatch 3 has everything you could ask for.
The TW3 was on pre-release software which had some GPS bugs,those were fixed via software updates right after my review. The ride was 18.4. As of my most recent ride a few days ago,the TW3 showed 18.3 and my Garmin showed 18.2
i have amazfit verge , ticwatch e , and samsung galaxy watch 46. samsung is the best...ticwatch is the worst because superlaggy. Amazfit in the midde possition.
Good question. I did, the S3 is like a tank compared to the GW3. I paid ~ 140.00 to upgrade to the GW3 but wished i kept the S3 and used the 140.00 toward the Pro 3. Then i would have 2 watches and rotate them around during battery charges and such. Just fun to play with diff OS. Much has to do with whether you have a Samsung phone. The new sensors do not work with non-Samsung phones.
Hello. Thanks for the review. Can you confirm that Spotify is downloadable to watch so I can go running without my phone. Google ATM cannot do this (plus UA-cam music app now available on iOS not Google - wtf) I have the Huawei watch 2 and need an upgrade as it's too slow
im stuck with my galaxy watch one after an early fossil wear os fail. I really like that watch, but want some wear os features. But i think in long time the tizen os just wins. Even very old watches work very fast! and i dont use google assistant that often
I am still hoping Samsung unlocks BP and ECG measures to other Androids. I don't feel like getting a Samsung phone to use all the features. If I wanted that rigid system I would go to Apple.
Weat OS is still broken... Can't. Send text using your voice with the Google assistant...this is why they can't give away a wear OS watch for free over samsung. If a Google watch has a broken google assistant...it's not smartwatch... It's a dumb watch... Even bixby will allow you to send a text message with your voice on that samsung watch... I am grateful to you for revealing the truth of samsung watch. Samsung did marketing by show casing the ECG and Blood Pressure sensors. However, it was not clear whether these sensors will be activated on non-samsung devices or not. I am using OP 7 pro and waiting for suitable wear os watch with the above mentioned sensors.
Try it from the watch, Bixby does not compare with Google Assistant. My GW3 cannot tell me who the president is. The GA can even tell me the next president.
People who really workout, doing it alone or with friends together, not on social platforms. Only people who see walking as a sport need this "social" gimmick.

I workout calisthenics, that means that I'm more than average " Walker / slow runner/ social type" sportsman, but less then marathon / semi marathon / body builder / professional etc type. So for me watch like this will be good. For its smart and sport options. I'm thinking about the Garmin vivoactive 4 / venu as well, they more sporty, but let's say Garmin forerunner 745 / 945 or fenix line is to much for me, too sporty. I basically need the stop watch, heart rate, oxygen in my watch, and notifications is very nice addition. Every thing else like all this "pick your sport" and social bul**t is for melineals that don't know a damn about real hard workout.

Enable developer mode on the TicWatch Pro 3 and change all animations to .5 and that makes it much faster and more fluid.
No need to. The 4100 is fast, that trick is good for slower and older processors.

Why did you compare the screens they have the same AMOLED screen it just that the twatch pro 3 has a second screen glued onto it
If you are comparing screens, colors, brightness, then choose the same watch face on both... also, the light grey bazel (?) on the Samsung tends to influence the person, so take it for the comparison...
This review seems one sided toward the galaxy watch...I've had both and the tic watch is a shit ton better. This guy blew past the battery life explanation. Tic watch is much better. It jumps to essential mode automatically when battery is low.(not mentioned).
All modern watches and phones have a battery saver..that's nothing special about the tic watch. If you really own both watches,you know the GW is smoother than the TicWatch
How about the quality! The quality of ticwatch is like lottery! All sensors are broken after 1 weeks! Mobvoi support is really bad. When i search my problems on reddit, many people got the same troubles

47x48x12.2mm . Galaxy Watch 3: Size: 45mm (45 x 46.2 x 11.1 mm). Dont know why you keep saying the TicWatch is thinner. Its actually the thickest of all current generation smartwatches. Maybe because you snapped on an extra bezel?
In real life the ticwatch sits a bit more flush so even though it might be 1.1mm thicker, , it gives the appearance of being a slimmer device.

I leave my phone on vibrate when I have a watch connected so a chime would be nice. I also don't mind a vibration but the ticwatch 3s vibration motor is pretty weak and I often don't even feel it. Plus, it's all about options these days, isn't it.. So why not include more and select what works for you, but what might not work for others.
If you're wanting "options" Tizen is the last OS you would want to use then lol

Nice review. Confused whether I should go for the ticwatch pro 3 or GW 3. The price in India is the same for both. Difference is Samsung have their service centers here in case of any defect however for ticwatch I would have to send it back to China. I have already burnt my hand with the wear os watch (fossil gen 3), the exp was terrible to say the least.

Just sold my Galaxy Watch 3 LTE and bought the Ticwatch Pro 3 because the new SD4100 can handle Wear OS without choking. I prefer Wear OS over Tizen because of the App support. I found Tizen to be a little boring.

The only thing ticwatch has over GW3 is battery life. If Samsung gets their shit together and improved battery life this wouldn't even be a fair comparison.
i had the Galaxy watch 3 for one day and returned it! notifications from my phone to the watch were horrendous? The delay from phone to watch was lengthy and at times non-existent. It was a pain just to get email notifications on the watch? thank goodness Samsung is going to be using wear os in the next watch.

You must not know about the difference between tizen and WearOS. If you did, you would know that they are different and the same watch faces do not exist on both platforms. If you find that check that I got from Samsung ,send it over bc I never got it.

So if you were me, which one would you choose?
I would go for the TW3 in your situation. If mobile pay is important and the google assistant is also important to you, no brainer!

Brilliant review. The Ticwatch is a bit annoying. I find it slow and laggy. Google support is OK. It doesn't seem to do much on the watch. I always have to go back to my phone. It always gives permission errors when I try to get Google to make calls or do much at all really and there is just so much bloat with all the Mobvoi apps.
How can it be slow and laggy when it has the high powered processor?

I own the older ticwatch Pro 2 and from my experience with it I woukd avoid buying another ticwatch. My watch is very buggy, battery life sucks and its so slow.

Always like the watches from samsung, but this year they should have put larger battery and not smaller. Not good battery on the 45mm IF you use it on daily tasks.

If this function doesn't exist on the new Ticwatch Pro 3, then that's a deal=breaker for me. Workout auto detection works flawlessly with the original Galaxy Watch I currently own.

I did installed a browser on my ticwatch pro 2020and it works fine for the most part, but it is a bit clunky (because of the keyboard, so logins are very difficult) , but except that it's fine.
I HATED the Galaxy watch 3 and I'm an avid samsung user. There's no app support is horrible and it just felt dated. I love the ticwatch 3 and it's not even close comparing the two except the screen on the Samsung is a bit better. Ticwatch 3 has everything you could ask for.

You didn't mention that the Ticwatch measured your workout as 16.9 miles while the Samsung said 18.22 miles. How far did you actually travel?
The TW3 was on pre-release software which had some GPS bugs,those were fixed via software updates right after my review. The ride was 18.4. As of my most recent ride a few days ago,the TW3 showed 18.3 and my Garmin showed 18.2

Good question. I did, the S3 is like a tank compared to the GW3. I paid ~ 140.00 to upgrade to the GW3 but wished i kept the S3 and used the 140.00 toward the Pro 3. Then i would have 2 watches and rotate them around during battery charges and such. Just fun to play with diff OS. Much has to do with whether you have a Samsung phone. The new sensors do not work with non-Samsung phones.
It does seem that Wear OS takes 2 times as much cpu power to get the same responsiveness as Samsung's Tizen.
And the Pro 3 gets almost twice the battery life. Samsung has gone downhill since the GW OG. What a shame.

I am grateful to you for revealing the truth of samsung watch. Samsung did marketing by show casing the ECG and Blood Pressure sensors. However, it was not clear whether these sensors will be activated on non-samsung devices or not. I am using OP 7 pro and waiting for suitable wear os watch with the above mentioned sensors.

I workout calisthenics, that means that I'm more than average " Walker / slow runner/ social type" sportsman, but less then marathon / semi marathon / body builder / professional etc type.
So for me watch like this will be good.
For its smart and sport options.
I'm thinking about the Garmin vivoactive 4 / venu as well, they more sporty, but let's say Garmin forerunner 745 / 945 or fenix line is to much for me, too sporty.
I basically need the stop watch, heart rate, oxygen in my watch, and notifications is very nice addition.
Every thing else like all this "pick your sport" and social bul**t is for melineals that don't know a damn about real hard workout.
