Nice to see ppl that, like me, doesn't have a lot of space, can make it work and create amazing pieces like you, I'm planning to start wood working for a while but never got into it because of space limitations and constant moving because of my job, that will change!

Great use of your available space. I only recently saw one of your videos, so I'm a new subscriber. I will view your other videos. I was given a couple Stanley 78 planes & I have a #4 from the 1940's that was my dad's. I haven't used either much, yet.

This is the first video I've ever commented on. I've been thinking of starting a youtube channel to show real world hobby wood working. So many of the youtube wood workers are kitted out with thousands of dollars in power tools and $300 dollar hand planes and 3 X $100 in diamond stones....This all seems too far apart from where the real world wood worker lives. And before anyone says " you're just jealous" nope! I just feel as a "hobby" wood worker who does it because of shear enjoyment, and not as a source of income, we need more real life examples such as yourself to show a few simple tools is all you need. Yes as years pass we pick up the essentials and better tools but how many hobbyist can afford to own a 3000 table saw. Forgive the apparent rant, I was just so pleased to see the simplicity of your shop and the obvious joy in wood working i felt compelled. Please keep up the great work and know how very realistic and encouraging this channel has been.

Thank you for your comments. I really believe for the amateur/hobbyist/small scale woodworker that it should be the project that comes first, by which I mean we start with an idea for something to build, either for the challenge, for the fun or to solve a need. The mission of the woodworker is then to figure out if it can be built with the tools and materials available, and if so ... to build it. If the project really needs a new tool, then that's the point to start thinking about adding it to your collection.
Don't get me wrong, having used top quality expensive tools in my time I can certainly see their value, especially to the commercial woodworker. However, the most important thing of all is just to get started. The are plenty of hobbyists out there with workshops full of Festool, Veritas and Lie-Nielsn that have never seen a spec of saw dust. By comparison there are amazing things being made by people with little more than a tenon saw, a no4 plane and a couple of chisels.
Good luck starting your channel I shall be interested to see your output.
