Being obsessively enamored with all things of Japanese design, I’ve made several of these boxes in the past but still always watch because I always pick up something that helps with future builds. No different here, as the positioning of the second lid cross piece has always been the most tedious part for me as I can’t stand the slightest gaps at that step. Your registration block will solve that in the future. Thanks for that and the chuckle I got at the end with the realization that someone else repurposes their old sweat socks.

thank you sir! I am planning to do this on an antique bureau where somebody in the past decided to put nails right into the mitered corners of the legs, making a lot of damage to the mahogany! I would rather see splines than old nails that are doing nothing

I must compliment the outstanding instruction in these two videos. I really enjoyed them! Everything was presented at a good & learnable pace. You kept to your knitting and showed how the project could be accomplished with very basic tools. I appreciated your clarifying critical cuts and fittings and so many of the nuances of both using the tools to achieve desired results and successfully completing the project. Thank you very much!

Usually my comments are negative, but this video is fantastic. Simple, plain. The sound, language, photography all are excellent. Commentary is minimal and to the point. No rambling, stumbling, folksy b.s.. I've watched many hundreds, possibly thousands of WW videos. There are only about 1 or 2 dozen sites that can match this quality. Part 2 is the same. Charge on.
