Ah yes, exactly the sounds my soul needed at this time. Pretty busy times here and when some of those projects are closed in a couple of weeks I'm going to check out the new sample pack. If I do this now I will reach no respectable level of productivity for some time as I will be playing with my samplers all day long. Thank you for sharing, oh my the vibe gets me.
The balance between real obligations & music is a tough one! Good luck on the projects mate, hope you crush em all out and enjoy the music making on the flip side
I’ve been having a blast with the sample pack since you’ve dropped it, it came at the perfect time. With the Remake right around the corner, I’ve also been inspired to capture that vibe. Thank you for the tutorials and the Sample packs, much love!
Ahhh, a great video again! It's always fun and interesting to see how other artists build their SH style sounds. You do a reeeeally good job with that! Cheers 🖤
I'm working on a sampler. Something with a lot more creative utilities than the standard samplers. (Midi Fx, tape transport simulations, crossfading between samples) So, got any functionality suggestions that you wish was built into a sampler? : )
The only thing I miss on the Elektron Digitakt is the ability to record all 8 (or 16) tracks into a DAW *with* the FX from the box -- all FX goes on the master track but not individual tracks, meaning I have to record each track individually, and live recordings (again, with the FX anyway) are basically uneditable.
Hell yea! I look at the old E-MU Emulator IV line of samplers as the holy grail in terms of feature/functionality/creative ability. Everything in those ;)
Thanks Vulture! I'm honestly stoked for it, was a bit nervous at first but the more gameplay videos I see....I think it's going to be solid. you grabbing it?
Could you try replicating a pad sound like DAYBREAK from DR2 sample cd? I have found it surprisingly difficult to ”re-create”. The sample has probably the most SH2 feel and was used in several tracks in the game
@@Thought-Forms I was quite succesful with an Surge synth default patch (I fiddled with filter cutoffs first) re-sampled and EQ’d several times. I used a free spectrum analyzer to find the played notes from the original sample. Not still quite satisfied with the end results but will play around with it in the future for sure! Learned a lot in the process.
Hi, Thought-Forms, I have been watching your tutorial for some time now and am truly loving your process of creating these nostalgic ambient atmospheres. It just gives me a feeling of my past growing. I'd love to email you, but I wanted to ask before sending you anything. I need help with re-creating these ambient percussion loops. I've found tutorials, but none have come close to it, and you are the one that came close both to feeling and sound. I'm just hoping you can help me out. If so, I'd I would love to email you a couple reference tracks of what I'm talking about
@@Thought-Forms What's up? I sent you an email with the reference track. I'm not sure if it's a correct or active email. Just let me know if you get it P.s Thank you so much 🙏
anyone know if theyre doing the OG soundtrack, or using new music? I know resident evil 2 remake had an option to use the OG music. i honestly dont even know what the new OST sounds like bc the OG one is so good
you know im not sure....would hope similar to the re2 remake with an option. SO much of the vibe was the soundtrack / fx. super raw / gritty and uncanny sounding, directly related to the music hardware at the time. lets hope its not TOO polished on that front
Ive been researching the amen break and the legalities of it. Can i use it on my produced music and submit it through distributors without having any issues? I immediately thought of you when this came to mind. Could you please address this?
tens of thousands of artists have done and are continuing to do so without issue. regardless of the actual legalities of it (which might depend on where you're living i guess?), just consider the odds of some lawyer representing a company who owns the rights to the original winstons song discovering your music and, judging by the success of your music, deciding that it is worth pursuing legal action in order to get a share of your profits. again, this is before even thinking of what a judge would rule in that case. if you think that this is likely enough to happen to make you worried, by all means get some legal advice. but in that case it should probably be your label/publisher and not you handling or even thinking about that.
If somehow it doesn't work out to buy this sample pack (for some reason), is there a chance that you can make the music of Silent Hill in FL Studio?🥺 Hello from Russia👉👈✨
@@Thought-Forms I liked the tutorial, no problems, but I can't buy this sample pack (for obvious reasons) So I don't know if it's possible to make Silent Hill music without this pack or if it's impossible?
@@Walten_Afton1986 Yea of course man! The video below walks through how to create samples exactly like I showed in this video: ua-cam.com/video/7Vzk0UQTAQM/v-deo.html

Been making this style for around a year, your guides have been very helpful.
lets go, david! i know you've been cranking away on the style for a bit now 💪
You single-handedly made me buy triton, Bryce 3D and your preset packs. We don’t deserve you ❤ protect thought forms at all costs
Triton, Bryce, some spooky samples...that makes for a weekend of endless fun. Thank you dejavu!
i really like this style of ambient, amazing video
thank you skully 💪

Let's goooooo 💪 Thanks mate. So curious to see how the remake holds up in terms of ambience
SH 2 right around the corner and thought forms dropping a SH 2 soundtrack tutorial, let’s go💯.
We're almost there! Super stoke, gameplay footage looks SICK
Amazing video and samp0le pack!

Thanks midwich! I think you're one of the best doing this sound today, and of course, hearing your spin on these samples is incredibly inspirational 💪
I was looking for you in the comments, love your work !
Always amazing work!! Silent hill 2 had the best soundtrack ever!!
Another TF classic video
GREAT INFO
cheers mate!
Love these psx ambient music tutorials :)
thank you jorgie!
thanks for the wonk through
No problem mate 👍
you are amazing man keep up the great work
thank you dude!
sounds a bit like half life too, but it makes sense seeing as though they pulled from the same sample libraries that you modeled your pack after
ill take it! they used some cool gear on the half life stuff. lot of jp-8000, bit of mc-303, and some other goodies / sample cds

Make it read loop points data from RIFF smpl chunk of the WAV file
Analog filters :D

How to sound like "Bottom of the Ocean" and "Unholy Relics (Lucia Ruins)" by DmC2?. They definitely sound like a Korg Triton or something similar.

Do you have any free sounds royalty free
yep! there are some free sounds on my gumroad, all royalty free
Less of a tutorial and more of a commercial for your sample packs.
you could do a similar thing with your own samples or samples from anywhere else
u could always 🏴☠️ sample cds, take stuff from youtube or find royalty free sounds and get the same result
