4:28 such a neat sound

I like the JD-990, but it's a junker compared to the 01/W series.

I had the hardware version of this. I sold it along with my Roland SPD-8, Korg M3R rackmount, and Alesis SR-16, in 1995. Worst decision I ever made, especially the Wavestation. I also had a couple of PCM expansion cards (that weren't cheap at the time) to go with it. I remember flicking through the pre-sets and hitting the famous "Another Cup Of Coffee" (by Mike and the Mechanics) opening preset and thinking: "Wow!" I probably explored about 10% of the capabilities of this synth, which is on me, but even so, it was such a lovely piece of engineering. I miss it fondly.

Personally for me the triton but this is only because I prefer that style of synth for the music I make. Trinity is still badass though

Thanks for this video, I have been in Triton world since I bought it a couple weeks back but will use this as a guide for the Wavestation. It is such a cool synth with great presets but isn’t the most user friendly to personalize sounds. This is a great help, thanks!

i cant make triton showup in my bitwig, how did you do it ?

I had a triton. Sometimes I miss it. But I can tell you that this interface is way way easier than the hardware. This keyboard did some things really well. It also has the worst piano sound in the history of the world

Got the korg wavestate mk2 rack/desktop and it works with wavestation patches. This is cool visually, but i like the tactical feel of having the knobs and the wavestate has a editor that goes more in depth with the patches.

This or the Triton?

Really, really good "vintage" synth, but saving patches could be more modern 😅 However, your videos are really inspiring. Thumbs up 👍

One of the coolest synths ever. Totally worth investing the time to get in depth. It's like having a room full of Prophet VS's connected together that are also loaded with M1 era Korg waveforms.

One of my favorite music-sound e.t.c channel on youtube. Especially big thanks for Korg vst instruments. First it look like very old and unusable. But you show us how to rule them and this is holy grail.

Probably easier to save presets via PluginGuru's Unify or directly in your DAW.
