    **$150-$200 without doctor's referral
**Positive stress tests and patterns of ischemia with ECG require greater than 50% blockage
**Calcium Coronary Artery Scan gives an early indication
    AVOCADO🥑🥑 and Cardiovascular Disease
30 year study of 121,700 Registered Nurses
    --68,786 Females (30-55 years old)
    --41,701 Males (40-75 years old)
Free of cancer, coronary heart disease and stroke.
**Avocado consumption of 2 or more servings(1/2 avocado is 1 serving) per week
    **Questionnaire every 4 years
Total of 14,274 incident cases of cardiovascular disease
    9185--coronary heart disease
    5290--stroke
    Avocado-nutrient dense food.
High in dietary fiber(insoluble), potassium, magnesium, monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats, phytonutrients. Contains approximately 13 g of Oleic Acid in a medium avocado.
    Conclusion:
    16% reduction in cardiovascular disease
21% reduction in coronary heart disease
    Stroke-reduction was not statistically significant.
Substitution model showed a reduction of 16-22% reduction in CVD when 1/2 serving of

2 Supplements for HEART ATTACK💔💔and STROKE prevention.
    Based on Meta Analysis Studies
Preventative benefits from folic acid and B-vitamins for stroke has been graded with moderate quality.
    1. B-complex---reduced stroke risk by 10%
    2. Folic Acid---reduced CVD risk by 17%
    3. Folic Acid---reduced stroke risk by 21%
Based on Meta Analysis Study of 40 studies with 134,267 participants.
CVD remains the leading cause of death worldwide.
EPA/DHA is an effective lifestyle strategy for CVD prevention, and the protective effect probably increases with dosage.
Fish Oil-decreases inflammation, reduces platelet aggregation, decreases blood pressure, decreases oxidative stress, protects endothelium, decreases triglycerides.

    Are EGGS🥚Bad for the HEART❤️?
Meta-analysis study of 23 studies with 123,660 cases followed for a median of 12 years
CONCLUSIONS: Our analysis suggests that higher consumption of eggs
(more than 1 egg/day) was not associated with increased risk of cardiovascular
disease, but was associated with a significant reduction in risk of coronary artery disease.
Conclusions: Intake of 1 egg/d was sufficient to increase HDL function and
large-LDL particle concentration; however, intake of 2-3 eggs/d supported
greater improvements in HDL function as well as increased plasma carotenoids.
Overall, intake of 3 eggs/d favored a less atherogenic LDL particle profile,
improved HDL function, and increased plasma antioxidants in young, healthy adults.
Meta-regression plots represent the relationship between a
change in dietary cholesterol and serum lipids
    1000 mg/day = 11 point increase of total cholesterol
    400 mg/day = 2 point increase in total cholesterol
    1000 mg/day = 4 point increase in LDL
    400 mg/day = 2 point increase in LDL
    1000 mg/day = 3 point increase in HDL

    9-13 years old 250 mg/day
    Adult male 430 mg/day
    Adult female 320-360 mg/day
Extensive research on heart health and hypertension.
FDA-Jan 2022-does not intent to restrict claims of benefit of magnesium and hypertension.

Problem is you eat so well, what would you do if your score was 200? I'd say both in your case and in case of a typical person who will unlikely make any significant dietary/lifestyle changes if confronted with a higher score, save your money.

Excellent and informative presentation. I am 79 and in 2018 my CAC score had risen to 1104. It was the 3rd year I had it checked, and it continues to rise. Borderline htn, familial cholesterolemia, cad, t2d, hypothyroid, and cll to boot. I know, a medical mess. A scratch cook who is known to grind wheat berries for flour for my homemade bread, I garden, and regularly exercise, aside from mowing my lawn twice a week. Yes, I am tired, but I am very active. Mother, brother died of heart attack, father and sister both had strokes. Mostly vegetarian, but I do eat a little poultry, fish, and sometimes beef, no pork.
I recently started cod liver oil (my old dog is doing well on it) and will add the folic acid. I began taking Mg a couple of years ago because of frequent, scary, premature ventricular contractions and because cardiologist was indifferent. No more PVCs. Although cardiologist and PCP said nothing to worry about I disagreed and take supplements (fibrinolytic enzymes) for frequent peripheral thrombophlebitis, but those worrisome and painful clots have greatly decreased.
I truly appreciate your video lectures, thank you so much. I will search for more on topics of interest.
I research to help myself. My cardiologist was annoyed when I told him I was taking Mg for the PVCs, and then offered a beta blocker. I declined and told him I was doing well with the Mg, which I titrated to where the PVCs stopped.
I will learn a lot from your lectures, thanks again.

Couple things: In the real world, we found that you need a doctor to create an order to get a CAC scan. Second: My mom had a 0 CAC score and had a mini-stroke about a year later, and another one about a year after that. We discovered she only has about 1-15% blocked carotid arteries. So, not really sure what's going on.

He is so wrong on so many counts. He said the calcium score is for earlier intervention. It is not. Calcium shows up after years and years of soft plaque. Your body produces the calcium to cover the soft plaque. So it's a later test. Once you show up as positive on calcium score. You already have lots of soft plaque.
Also, 50% of the people with no calcium who are 30 or 40 years old have plaque. Cuz the calcium has not showed up yet. Only 5% of people who are 70 that show no calcium, have plaque. So if you're young and you have a zero score, it still does not mean much.
His second charge only applies if you're 60, 70 or 80 years old. Does not apply at all. If you're young. If you're 30 and you have a zero, it does not mean you do not have any risk for heart disease. 50% of the people with zero have plaque
