Before carnivore I was one of those people disgusted by saturated fat. Only lean meat for me. In my 50’s I started to feel lousy all the time even though I exercised regularly as well as ate a low fat “balanced” diet. Dr . Berry convinced me to try carnivore. My almost immediate positive results made my brain look at saturated fat as medicine. All that “grease” in my pan goes directly into me. I can eat a spoonful of bacon fat, tallow, or ghee with a smile. My family is grossed out by this. I now look at vegetables and greens as poison.
I just stick with healthy, home grown organic meat and a few green leafy veggies and an occasional few blue berries. I also make my own ghee from organic whole butter.
Ignorance and misinformation from the medical fraternity and big pharma will kill you. Simply use your body, keep active, exercise to shock your physiology every day and eat wisely. You'll be fine. If you can't or won't, you won't be. Health is actually very simple.
My doctor told me I should eat 10 servings of fruit and veg each day as well as lots of legumes, to combat pre diabetes. I just smiled and left and immediately started LCHF and switched on to Dr Berry
My doc had put me on 3 high BP medicine and insulin. I was 355 lbs. I went on keto stopped all medication and insulin. Reversed my BP and diabetes. Now I am down to 281 still ways to go on the weight but I am on the right track.
67 and have been ketovore almost 2 years! A1C 4.8 also had a calcium heart test and it was 0! I will continue this the rest of my living days. 2 brothers died very young of heart disease. Love your info!
Sorry for your loss of two younger brothers. My slightly older brother is in a mess with T2D , resulting in stroke and amputation . Despite my attempts to help him, I feel and am powerless

@@mikej1532 The CAC is a "historic" score. I've just had one done and mine is also zero at 65 years. I've only been low carb for the last year. My dad died in 1977 of a heart attack at 54 with no risk factors (no drinking, smoking, overweight and it was before the low fat diet came in) so I'm assuming that I didn't inherit his genes in this area.

i just turned 69 and have been on keto for 4 years also. When I retired I was up to 185 pounds @ 5'7". Way to fat and I felt like crap all the time. I never had a problem with TTD or any other health issues, but I'am sure they were on the agenda in my future. I 'am now down to 140 and feel great. I alternate between weights and calisthenics one day and biking, running or kayaking the next. I do this for 6 days and take three days off. I have always been very athletic, but towards the end of my career I became a slug and did nothing. Keto has changed my way of life.

I started on Keto 4 years ago and had some decent results (I am 73). About 6 months ago i started shifting to Carnivore (+intermittent fasting) AND have am seeing amazing results. My weight is down to where it was when I was in my early 20's. I am looking forward to seeing how my first blood test results, since starting Carnivore look. I still have a way to go, but I feel great and with about 20 more pounds shed, I look significantly slimmer. Thank YOU Doctor Berry!! A few weeks ago I lost my battle with my Fiancee trying to help her kick her sugar (and carb) addiction. She has two older sisters that died young suffering from Alzheimer's. She said that Arthritis and Alzheimers ran in her family. I said that it was NOT strictly her genetics that plague her family, it is that you all eat the same way. She tried but could not beat the sugar addiction. Eight weeks ago she had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. After about 11 days of testing she was diagnosed with rapid onset Alzheimer's that had likely been progressing (destroying her brain) for some time. She was pre diabetic, but the doctors had ignored that. Overnight, she went from seemingly healthy to living in a nursing home, progressively slipping downhill. I have heard Alzheimer's referred to as type 3 diabetes? And I would add, a fate worse than death. All I can do now is try to make sure that she gets the best care available; visit her often; but honestly all they are doing is warehousing her (and the others similarly stricken). I thought that we could have had another 20 active years together; now all that is lost and I bet all because of a terribly in appropriate diet.
the best care is real whole foods. which is what I would bring in to any of my hospital patients. fresh. organic. daily. the staff and other patrons in the wards .. are in disbelief ... then also baffled how we are also leaving the earliest. type 3 diabetes I think is a very appropriate way to consider it (alzheimer’s). even those patients can have a better life when eliminating the sugars, seed oils .. flour products. sunshine and healthy fats are necessary for a quicker recovery, which is nearly impossible to source from a hospital pick n choose menu system, so I carry avocados on me in a knapsack. videos like this can help pave the way to a better market. remember the bulk of cravings are hormonal + microbial .. which happens. with every bite. invest in great food choices. def the best and cheapest way to feel fantastic.

A friend of mine got diabetews 15 years ago. I told him to do what you abd Dr Westman indicate. He ignored me. He started having really bad symptoms last year and in April of this year,died of a heart attack in bed. I've done keto for 16 years cause I'm determined not to get diabetes.
I am in conversations with my doctor around these issues right now. This is probably the most important video I have ever watched. I knew weight and diabetes were the top reasons for heart issues so while waiting for my follow up blood work I have lost 30 pounds and been exercising regularly as well as eating keto. I still need to lose 20 more pounds.
My husband just passed away from a heart attack on Oct 3, right in front of me. It was unexpected, but then not. He wanted to become a patient of Dr. Barry's (he seemed to think that was possible); but of course, God numbers our days. Besides, there is plenty of info from Dr. Barry right here on youtube to put in to practice. I haven't listened to this video yet, but I definitely will. Since Oct 3, I've gotten more serious about my diet, etc, and have already dropped weight and will continue to gain more health. While in the hospital ER, my 26 yr old son tearfully pleaded with me to change course and not leave him the way his dad did. I promised; and that is a promise I will keep. I wasn't ready. Didn't want to give up sugar and dairy. Now I wish I would have quit years ago, and especially grains, that has done so much damage to my brain and body. If I just eat a little bit I'm in pain again.

Excellent video! Went Carnivore at age 63 in April 2022 at 5'9" 330 LBS and A1c of 8.5. Last week A1c is now 5.7 and have dropped 70 lbs. Was disappointed with my health care provided after making an appointment to have my A1c checked after a 3 month period only to be told after waiting for 30 minutes in the office the test could be done as it was not ordered by my doctor...so I left ordered my own at home A1c test kit. Expressed my disappointment during my last physical...my doctor is now fully on board with helping me achieve my health goal of normalizing my weight and reversing my diabetes. My latest cholesterol:243, HDL:35, Triglycerides: 120, LDL:184. My doctor would like to have me take a statin which I have refused. However I told him if he can provide me with a solid independent scientific study (not funded by big pharma) which increases life span and/or quality of life I may reconsider...
Note your Triglyceride:HDL ratio =3.42 As you progress, it will improve. Testing cholesterol during weight loss will initially show elevation because the liver is cleaning house. Better to wait until your weight stabilizes and inflammation is low. Ideal Triglyceride:HDL ratio = 1.0 or lower 🇺🇸 (1.8 elsewhere due to different units of measure) This is a good marker for insulin sensitivity. Also, Hypothyroidism often will raise cholesterol markers, if you have concern you may have thyroid disease, do not only get TSH (a pituitary marker) one needs the whole panel, including Free T3 which needs to be in upper quartile of lab reference range. Avoid statins completely. Good process so far, I wish you continued success.
Dr Berry, last week I suffered a heart attack. I did not have any of the risk factors, I'm a fit, 67 yo man. I fast every day. I follow a diet that is carnivore and a slight tinge of keto. I don't eat sugar. I am not diabetic. I am not obese. I way a lean 164 pounds. I'm a retired Army Officer and retired Registered Nurse. I train in my own gym. Functional fitness with a flavor of body building. Just 5 hours before my heart attack I was on a bike trail running my 3-mile phase of my workout. I'm blessed that it didn't happen then because I was the only person on that trail at that time of day. The chest pain hit at 11:30pm. I immediately recognized the symptoms and called 911 as I was swallowing my 325mg aspirin. By 1:15 am my diagonal coronary artery was stented that had bee 100% blocked. I was told it was an embolic occlusion. The Dr. told me a piece of plaque had broke free and "cut" the intimal lining of that coronary artery and caused it to bleed. I have been absolutely bewildered as to why and how a fit, healthy man, on no meds could have suffered this near death incident. I supplement to enhance my fitness and even included Vitamin K2. My abnormal labs were as follows. Troponin 35, glucose 111, BUN 21, HGB 12.5, HCT 36.7, TOTAL PROTIEN 5.7, ALBUMIN 3.5, AST 67, OSMO 298, HGB A1C 6.0, CHOLESTEROL 165, TRIGLYCERIDES 91, HDL 43, LDL 104, CHOLESTEROL / HDL RATIO 3.8. NOW I am on Atorvostatin 40mg bedtime, brilinta 90mg am/pm, ASA 81MG QD, losartan 25mg daily, metoprolol 25mg daily. 2 years ago I did a calcium scoring test and the result was 41. Now they have also identified calcification in my LAD at 50%. Enlighten me as to WHAT WENT WRONG and where do I go from here. I recogn ize that you cant give me medical advice. do you have pre-diabetes (biggest risk in chart)? ( from A1C reading >5.7) Did you test HOMA-IR for insulin resistance or did they check inflammation markers? Good luck to you.
Well I don’t know you personally but you could do all the good stuff and maybe your genetics is prone towards heart disease. My mom had a stroke my grandfather had a heart attack so I am pretty sure I’m on that path as well. And I am not a diabetic yet I am a little overweight and my calcium score was 1000! My triglycerides were 106 which is below 150 mark my cholesterol is 49 points above the 200 mark my LDL’s are 45 over 100 my HDL‘s are 83 which is over the 50 which is good and my non-HDL‘s are 36 over. But the big problem is that I have probably 70 or 75% of my credit artery blocked. And the other one is like 50% blocked. And I’ve been told that I have a strong heart with a mild mitral valve regurgitation. I see myself on the path of a major stroke either without surgery or with surgery or after surgery. Stents are no stents! So I am terrified to say the least. And of course my doctor has been talking about statins or Repatha. I am taking a little bit of aspirin and I’m doing garlic niacin gonna start some cayenne and I’m gonna do lemon. It’s not easy to convince your doctor to do some of the tests that he mentioned because they seem to have big egos and don’t like you suggesting things to them. My doctor is ordering a ton of tests but he still falling back on statins. He hasn’t mentioned one thing about pre-diabetes or insulin resistance which is definitely a problem and losing weight. I’m 50 pounds overweight. Stuff for me to exercise because of all my bone and muscle pain even though I used to be a long distance runner. I used to run 3 to 6 to 12 miles a day. Not anymore. Now I’m just walking as much as I can. I guess there’s no easy answer or explanation. The body is an amazing complicated thing. It seems the more I know about the body the less I know where the more I’m aware of how much I do not know. But watching videos like this is important and enlightening and educational. We just have to convince our doctors to listen to us more and be willing to do things differently than the standard pharmaceutical path

I wish there was a Doctor like Doctor Berry in the Johnson City area. You would think Johnson City with a University Medical School there would be producing more Free thinking Doctors. I think BIG Pharma has a lot of (influence) on what is taught in all of the Medical Schools. A Very good Lab test ( BOSTON HEART PANEL), which I have never heard of any doctor in this area ordering is VERY important. I drive to Asheville to get this type of preventive care. My Insurance DOES cover this test, but I do pay for my office visit. I think the reason that I pay for my office visit is because Insurance Companies do NOT want to pay for a FREE (non-propaganda) thinking Doctor who has a brain that does not require following a government chart. These Free thinking doctors are constantly studying, and keep up on the latest research. They do NOT, or buy into BIG Pharma.
By the time your glucose is noticably elevated , the insulin resistance has done decades of damage. You need to test insulin levels to identify this insulin resistance asap. A1c is not a good way test when it obviously doesn't indicate the hyperinsulinemia/ insulin resistance that drives so many conditions, including diabetes.
Just freaking WOW...finally a doctor who is not afraid to speak the truth. I had the heart attack, was "following all the recommendations", walking 3 miles daily...and still had the heart attack. What the other doctors kept saying was"your sugars are too high"...but none gave me the answers on how to ACTUALLY lower the sugars...FINALLY FINALLY Dr Berry has the balls (if you will) to speak the real truth on HOW to actually get things moving in the righ direction. I can't say thank you enough. I have been on carnivore for 2.5 months now and just got my blood work done and significent changes for the good. This for me is now a life long mission. Great review and doctors need to get on board for a healthy lifestyle. They need to help patients eat better and get rid of toxic “pharmaceuticals “! It is a travesty that our healthcare system is so poor! I graduated from medical school in 1981 and have had a massive amount of good medical education since I retired from primary care at the end of 2019! I wish I could get some do over time with my former patients.

Mid 60s ketovore woman (18 months on keto) - i have done conventional diets almost my whole life mid teens onwards. Not one worked longterm, although i had plenty of short term successes. I went keto, just to see how it would be, i thought it was a ‘faddy’ diet but had nothing to lose. I had no intention of sticking to it longterm ( many pundits say its not a longterm thing as it is too restrictive). I did a popular diet whose strapline was ‘Nothing tastes as good as slim feels’ but continuing to eat ‘healthy grains’ and starchy foods although i liked the image in the mirror but i didnt feel any different ( well i did a bit, i didnt get quite as hot when going for a walk on a hot day). I have been lucky enough not to have any health issues whatever my weight. But i can now say Living Keto is the best thing i have ever done, walking round supermarkets and a good song is played,i literally have to stop myself dancing in the aisles in case people think i’m a crazy old woman 🤪🤣
I really need to thank you for helping me with starting a Keto diet. In 6 months I have dropped my A1C from 6.3 to 5.7 in just 6 months by just doing what you said! Inflammation is at the root cause of some people's inactivity. It was painful just to walk up my stairs, and I didn't have the stamina. Just a month into a carnivore diet and all the pain is gone. I literally have too much energy to lay around now. I'm always up doing something in the garage or out in the yard. It's difficult to sit around when you feel good.

I am totally on the low carb camp, I am doing Keto. This is a super important video that everyone should see. But one tiny criticism - why say there is no meaningful nutrition in a potato? There is. I don't eat them, but it's not garbage. It's food. Also- nothing wrong with half your plate being veggies. If to you want to promote carnivore- ok, but it's not the only way to eat. Balanced Keto is great too. Mediterranean probably is good too.
You are spot n on what my visit to my doctor was like yesterday! Type2 DB with blood pressure creeping up. Tried low carb but kept falling off the wagon. Started Keto 10 month ago and then Carnivore 6 month ago. HBa1c is 4.9 (108). Cholesterol had gone up but low trigclicerdes. LDL had increased but so had HDL. I was really happy with the results. She focussed on the LDL and started to suggest a statin and I cut her off and said ‘don’t even go there’. I told her I was thrilled to finally reverse my diabetes. I have lost 20kg and from having my own Blood pressure monitor I know my blood pressure is perfect, she didn’t even take my blood pressure. Nor did she weigh me like she used to. She just focussed on the LDL and then ask if I was constipated on the Carnivore diet and said there is a high risk of bowel cancer! I told her my stomach and bowels had never been better as I had suffered from IBS for years but that has all gone. I am either going to find another doctor or stick with this one just to show her she’s wrong. I also told her I have done a heap of research and probably have way more time than she has to read the latest research. She’d probably like to drop me as a patient! Lol. My lipid results are the same as a ripped athletes that Dr PaulMason in a LowCardDownUnder video used as an example where an insurance company refused this guy insurance as his cholesterol was too high. Dr Mason showed they were actually excellent. Oh and my triglycerides were actually lower than this guys too.
Sounds like my doctor. I can't afford to keep trying out new PCPs to find one who knows as much about nutrition, statins, etc. as I do, thanks to Drs Berry, Cywess, Paul Mason, Eric Westman, and Sten Ekberg.
I learned their are two main types of LDL. SMALL LDLs & large LDLS. The small LDL cause the heart attacks & strokes. I learned I had the large LDL's as a Keto fan for many years. Before Keto I had 5 coronary stents and 2 strokes. Since Keto not one & lost nearly 70 lbs! And 74 years young! Dr. Berry is terrific he led me to have a test for muscle spasms which resulted in a diagnosis of small artery disease ( I'm taking vit D3 & K2 mk7 for a possible healing & prayer. God bless you!

I was a nurse for 38 years as of 2009. I so much agree with you. It's so refreshing to hear a common sense presentation. I'm also on the carnivore diet 2 years, now at 71 y.o. and feel fantastic. Building a new race car, weld fabricate and go to the dragstrip on weekends. TRANKS for all you do.
I don't think we need to plan on having a heart attack and just be thankful we can delay it. It's very possible to never have a heart attack. I've been carnivore for 3 years and celebrate my 80th birthday next month. I feel great and plan to be around and in good health for quite a few more years. I have never had a heart attack and don't expect to. 😊
Thank you Dr. Berry! I'm 75. I've been on keto/low carb and have lost 23 pounds in three months. I stopped taking pravastatin before seeing the Dr. Muscles and joints feel so much better. Fasting glucose from 102>78. HbA1c is 5.7 (not tested before). Triglycerides 55, HDL 78, total cholesterol calculated 192. All my doc wanted to talk about was getting back on "maybe" a different statin and that my ketones were 2+ and had a RED FLAG on the lab report. I refused a new statin. Seeing a doc in southern Arizona when on Medicare is a challenge. You get 15 minutes and boilerplate. I've had 6 docs in twelve years and they are all brainwashed to what lowers their liability. In March I will ask for more tests and see what happens with the docs cooperation.
I STARTED THE CARNIVORE DIET. Im two days in and I feel amazing. I had never had a day in my life where I had zero sugars. Now I have 2. Im excited to get to my first week. I believe i will make it 5 more days and then I should lose some weight. I feel different not eating oreos, drinking soda, milk, juice. No burger king. Its awesome. Dr Berry, I have just found this video....and you just blew me away when you talked about LDL. It has been a HUGE part of every encounter that I have with any doctor. I am a 71 yr old female...have had high cholesterol my entire life as had my mom (over 300 and lived to age 95 with no heart issues) and all 4 of my brothers...dad did not. Not one dr has ever tested my a1c as glucose is always normal. But oh the fear mongering over my cholesterol and my LDL. HDL is 70+ but that is ignored. Anyway, I was sent to a cardiologist and that is THE FIRST thing brought up.... he was rather angry at me b/c I said I was not going to take any darn statins...and he made a snarky remark that too many people make "bad decisions" but when he has to "crack open" someone's chest b/c they had a stroke or heart attack, then they do whatever he tells them...he then says, "I'm not trying to scare you" to which I said, " I do not scare easily". Thank you for speaking to this...I personally believe statins do more harm than good....ever think about moving to PA? 😁

Doctor tells her it's just stress and suggests it's all in her head, gives her a pat on the shoulder and says she needs a pap smear and mammogram. The same thing happened to my mom 30 years ago. Kept going in with complaints of chest pain and told it was anxiety. Died a few weeks later of a massive heart attack.

I have followed your advice, in general, for quite some time, and in all honesty, I'd have to say my health has gained a lot since then. Kudos to you, doctor! I watch all of Doctor Berry's UA-cam videos, and he makes a lot of them. including his Monday night live chat question and answer hour. But this particular video about heart attack risk, it is one of the finest UA-cam video he has ever made. Because this pie chart presentation is so clear, and Dr Berry speaks so patiently and respectfully. I am sharing this video with my managers at work. The managers like to have meetings where they provide 'complimentary' snacks, such as cake, cookies, potato chips, orange juice, even ice cream and popsicles. When I ask maybe they could change the snacks to things like boiled eggs, carrots and celery, the answer I got back is eggs smell bad, and if they are not giving cake, they might try giving fruit.
Yes, this is one of his best. I think the pie chart of all risks is a great perspective on what should be a person's priorities for health. The common mistake most people make is to pick on some minor factor of risk (example: cholesterol), while ignoring the massive risks that are "inconvenient" because its not what your average doctor will help you with. The massive risk is HYPERINSULINEMIA, which on the pie chart shows as obesity and metabolic syndrome and hypertension and diabetes. Aside from smoking, hyperinsulinemia is the elephant in the room. But most people do not get a fasting insulin test, and if they do, their doctor probably does not appreciate what is the optimal range and what are the danger levels.

I have improvements in these markers,quickly after I was told I was pre-diabetic. And when my Dr. discovered my improvements she said “What did you do?”. I said well the simple answer is I stopped feeding my sugar, Sugar. She quit talking with me.
I've told my doctor that I'm not just digging my heels in with regards to not taking a statin but that I have done my own research so I am making an informed decision. I just told my GP that I understand she has to make the suggestion. I've still got to do the same with my cardiologist. I've just had a CAC of zero and at 65 I'm expecting the "take a statin as a prevention". No thanks. I am tempted to ask these questions: who taught you/where did you get your information about statins (probably pharma reps or pharma literature), who paid for the research of the statins (pharma), are you getting any kickback for prescribing (I strongly suspect that he is). I told my GP the other day that statins have been shown to worsen diabetes and she said oh there is new research coming out that it helps with diabetes. She didn't even know about the different LDL particle sizes. I had the get the test name from the pathologist and she then did some research about it, so she has learned something. Hopefully she will be able to put it to good use.

My grandmother always said to refuse statins if they were ever recommended, she said her friends went down hill fast after being placed on those. She lived to be 92.

I'm 82 and had a heart murmur for several years due to an anomaly in a heart valve. My cardiologist continued to monitor it and focused on my LDL ( I was on a KETO lifestyle) and fat consumption. I contacted un vac Covid which was a moderate cold and subsequently developed heart failure. After having two stents and a new valve, I seemed to on the road to recovery. We changed cardiologists because of lack of responsiveness and geography. The new doctor immediately ordered a Life Vest because of heart arrhythmia. I now have a pacemaker/defibrillator. My GP was more concerned with BP/Cholesterol and weight over the years.

I go to the cardio each year for prevention due to family history. Last I went was October 2021. Tests done: "high" cholesterol (my normal 240 I've had my whole life, from BMi = 16 to BMI = 35), high triglycerides (a first in my 47 y at the time) and the most important high insulin (56 wwhen I should be up to 15; glucose 94). Mild mitral regurgitation. My doc: reduce sodium intake (despite me telling her I didn't eat salt for 47 y) and loose weight by eating veggies obviously. Keep the BP med and add statins. I already did all of this and was gaining weight. Just started carnivore and next week I am going to do blood work on my own to see how it will go.

“Pre-Diabetes” is a pretty good indication that someone already has insulin resistance. Since the “healthy range” is 70-100, if your blood sugar is floating to the top of that range you should ALWAYS do an A1C! Not wait til you are 20 point above that range! I can remember a doctor telling me “your fine, just pre diabetic.” I was already insulin resistant. That’s the real disease, diabetes is just the symptom.

It is pretty obvious that we have to be our own doctor first. This seems to really piss off a lot of physicians. My daughter for a couple of years had unexplainable symptoms and just kept being told she had carpal tunnel. She came across a video about MS and asked her daughter to test her and sure enough She has MS 😢. The doctor never apologized of course🤷🏻♀️ I feel sorry for all the people who do not use the Internet to find real life people going through the same things there and finding some solutions. I've been reading about the fasting insulin test for years and requested it many times but it wasn't offered. Finally I was able to get it by special request before my blood test. The doctor gave permission. I'm the first person in my town to get this test. It'll happen in December. 🤞
Thank you, Dr. Berry. I was told to fill RX for cholesterol lowering statins meds. After great blood work my entire life , physician focused on cholesterol numbers.. As I took med for about 4 months, I could feel my healthy well-being diminishing. I researched side effects of stations. Once medicine eliminated my over all health returned. I felt horrible during RX. Lesson was a valuable one. Bless you for sharing true compassion for your people before the alluring $$$.
Also, our industrial food manufacturers have changed the ingredients. The people 45 and younger eat more fake food and garbage then us older generations did. When I was growing up, we always ate dinner at the table, together, no phones, no TV, no computers. We took our time and had conversations about life while eating meat, or chicken, fish with veg and a starch. All of this was cooked from scratch with lard, bacon fat or butter. My grannie lived to 103. My parents, 83 and 85, no meds and still very active. They still eat the way we did as a young family. This is the way to a long and healthy life.

You may need progrsterone if you are around 48 or older. You csn buy bioidentical OTC cream. I used to take a pill, I now use the cream and take 1/2 a Unisom. I sleep a full 8!

I usually go 2-3 days without sleeping and then just pass out. Funny thing is I'm not tired until the last minute before I fall asleep and anything can wake me up. It was very useful when I had my daughter for nightly feedings. Husband was use to it. First memory is of me maybe 4 yr. old walking around my parents house 1-2:00 am wishing someone would wake up. I knew it wasn't the first time. Been checked for everything. Used to have nightly nightmare as a kid, still do occasionally. I've been to many many doctors plus sleep clinics and therapy. Last dr just said he had no clue, gave up and told me not to come back. None of them ever checked what i was missing, just what i had too much of. Dr. Berry hit it on the head right out of the gate. I'm no looking a gift horse in the mouth. I consider it a blessing. It may not last forever... I still have sleepless nights but maybe once a week if that. But for now it's working. I had a heart attack 2.5yrs ago. Essentially clogged arteries and smoking for 42yrs. I quit smoking cold Turkey the day of my heart attack. I have 4 stints in my arteries. I'm currently 62yrs old, 5'9 and 100lbs overweight. My cardiologist is giving me Atorvastatitn and blood thinners. But hasn't recommended any particular diet. I'm gonna go carnivore diet. We lost a friend of ours 3 weeks ago to a heart attack and he was only 63 years old, it was completely unexpected, his wife is devastated. He smoked but wasn't overweight. He just dropped dead.

My cholesterol was really high also. I’ve been off my statin for 2 years and she wants me to get back on them. I’m thinking it was from being so low carb. My liver was making more cholesterol than I was using. I’m going to try add some carbs before my next check up. I’m 69 and my total cholesterol was 415 , ldl 330, a1c 5.3, 120lbs. I told her I would try treating it with my diet. I’ve been keto for 2.5 years.

Since most heart attacks happen at 9:30am on a Monday, I just sleep in on Mondays to reduce or eliminate the most obvious risk factor:. Stressful Monday mornings at work. 😒. And I stay away from harmful Western medical procedures in general
Am already facing 3 stents soon due to heart disease. This year I have lost 17 lbs (from 172; 5'2") doing Keto, lowered my A1c from 5.9 to 5.4 in first 2 months of keto, and pestered my doctors into doing more tests until voila! they found the heart problem with an angiogram. I complained of tiredness for two years and they kept saying I was fine. I don't drink, smoke, am somewhat active and the only thing the doctors can advise are statins and a traditional diet, but I believe keto is what will save me. At 74 I am a poster child for what the food pyramid does to people. I stopped the statins because they quickly raised my insulin levels, upped cravings I had under control and distressed my intestines. I will probably have to lie to the doctors about my keto diet. I pay for my own A1c tests because neither my PCP nor cardiologists want to test me more than once a year. I test glucose and ketones at home.

Before carnivore I was one of those people disgusted by saturated fat. Only lean meat for me. In my 50’s I started to feel lousy all the time even though I exercised regularly as well as ate a low fat “balanced” diet. Dr . Berry convinced me to try carnivore.
My almost immediate positive results made my brain look at saturated fat as medicine. All that “grease” in my pan goes directly into me. I can eat a spoonful of bacon fat, tallow, or ghee with a smile. My family is grossed out by this. I now look at vegetables and greens as poison.
I just stick with healthy, home grown organic meat and a few green leafy veggies and an occasional few blue berries. I also make my own ghee from organic whole butter.
Ignorance and misinformation from the medical fraternity and big pharma will kill you. Simply use your body, keep active, exercise to shock your physiology every day and eat wisely. You'll be fine. If you can't or won't, you won't be. Health is actually very simple.

My doctor told me I should eat 10 servings of fruit and veg each day as well as lots of legumes, to combat pre diabetes. I just smiled and left and immediately started LCHF and switched on to Dr Berry
My doc had put me on 3 high BP medicine and insulin. I was 355 lbs. I went on keto stopped all medication and insulin. Reversed my BP and diabetes. Now I am down to 281 still ways to go on the weight but I am on the right track.

@@mikej1532 The CAC is a "historic" score. I've just had one done and mine is also zero at 65 years. I've only been low carb for the last year. My dad died in 1977 of a heart attack at 54 with no risk factors (no drinking, smoking, overweight and it was before the low fat diet came in) so I'm assuming that I didn't inherit his genes in this area.

I’m 70 and I have been on Keto for 4 years. I hope to live to see the day when doctors are willing to combat the health crisis happening before our eyes.
i just turned 69 and have been on keto for 4 years also. When I retired I was up to 185 pounds @ 5'7". Way to fat and I felt like crap all the time. I never had a problem with TTD or any other health issues, but I'am sure they were on the agenda in my future. I 'am now down to 140 and feel great. I alternate between weights and calisthenics one day and biking, running or kayaking the next. I do this for 6 days and take three days off. I have always been very athletic, but towards the end of my career I became a slug and did nothing. Keto has changed my way of life.

A few weeks ago I lost my battle with my Fiancee trying to help her kick her sugar (and carb) addiction. She has two older sisters that died young suffering from Alzheimer's. She said that Arthritis and Alzheimers ran in her family. I said that it was NOT strictly her genetics that plague her family, it is that you all eat the same way. She tried but could not beat the sugar addiction. Eight weeks ago she had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. After about 11 days of testing she was diagnosed with rapid onset Alzheimer's that had likely been progressing (destroying her brain) for some time. She was pre diabetic, but the doctors had ignored that. Overnight, she went from seemingly healthy to living in a nursing home, progressively slipping downhill. I have heard Alzheimer's referred to as type 3 diabetes? And I would add, a fate worse than death. All I can do now is try to make sure that she gets the best care available; visit her often; but honestly all they are doing is warehousing her (and the others similarly stricken). I thought that we could have had another 20 active years together; now all that is lost and I bet all because of a terribly in appropriate diet.

A friend of mine got diabetews 15 years ago. I told him to do what you abd Dr Westman indicate. He ignored me. He started having really bad symptoms last year and in April of this year,died of a heart attack in bed.
I've done keto for 16 years cause I'm determined not to get diabetes.
I am in conversations with my doctor around these issues right now. This is probably the most important video I have ever watched. I knew weight and diabetes were the top reasons for heart issues so while waiting for my follow up blood work I have lost 30 pounds and been exercising regularly as well as eating keto. I still need to lose 20 more pounds.
70, ketovore for 19 months, less them 20 total carbs a day, diabetes in remission. A1C 5.8 down from 6.9, severe joint pain - gone!

My husband just passed away from a heart attack on Oct 3, right in front of me.
It was unexpected, but then not.
He wanted to become a patient of Dr. Barry's (he seemed to think that was possible); but of course, God numbers our days.
Besides, there is plenty of info from Dr. Barry right here on youtube to put in to practice.
I haven't listened to this video yet, but I definitely will.
Since Oct 3, I've gotten more serious about my diet, etc, and have already dropped weight and will continue to gain more health.
While in the hospital ER, my 26 yr old son tearfully pleaded with me to change course and not leave him the way his dad did.
I promised; and that is a promise I will keep.

Excellent video! Went Carnivore at age 63 in April 2022 at 5'9" 330 LBS and A1c of 8.5. Last week A1c is now 5.7 and have dropped 70 lbs. Was disappointed with my health care provided after making an appointment to have my A1c checked after a 3 month period only to be told after waiting for 30 minutes in the office the test could be done as it was not ordered by my doctor...so I left ordered my own at home A1c test kit. Expressed my disappointment during my last physical...my doctor is now fully on board with helping me achieve my health goal of normalizing my weight and reversing my diabetes. My latest cholesterol:243, HDL:35, Triglycerides: 120, LDL:184. My doctor would like to have me take a statin which I have refused. However I told him if he can provide me with a solid independent scientific study (not funded by big pharma) which increases life span and/or quality of life I may reconsider...

Better to wait until your weight stabilizes and inflammation is low.

This is a good marker for insulin sensitivity.
Also, Hypothyroidism often will raise cholesterol markers, if you have concern you may have thyroid disease, do not only get TSH (a pituitary marker) one needs the whole panel, including Free T3 which needs to be in upper quartile of lab reference range.
Avoid statins completely.

Dr Berry, last week I suffered a heart attack. I did not have any of the risk factors, I'm a fit, 67 yo man. I fast every day. I follow a diet that is carnivore and a slight tinge of keto. I don't eat sugar. I am not diabetic. I am not obese. I way a lean 164 pounds. I'm a retired Army Officer and retired Registered Nurse. I train in my own gym. Functional fitness with a flavor of body building. Just 5 hours before my heart attack I was on a bike trail running my 3-mile phase of my workout. I'm blessed that it didn't happen then because I was the only person on that trail at that time of day. The chest pain hit at 11:30pm. I immediately recognized the symptoms and called 911 as I was swallowing my 325mg aspirin. By 1:15 am my diagonal coronary artery was stented that had bee 100% blocked. I was told it was an embolic occlusion. The Dr. told me a piece of plaque had broke free and "cut" the intimal lining of that coronary artery and caused it to bleed. I have been absolutely bewildered as to why and how a fit, healthy man, on no meds could have suffered this near death incident. I supplement to enhance my fitness and even included Vitamin K2. My abnormal labs were as follows. Troponin 35, glucose 111, BUN 21, HGB 12.5, HCT 36.7, TOTAL PROTIEN 5.7, ALBUMIN 3.5, AST 67, OSMO 298, HGB A1C 6.0, CHOLESTEROL 165, TRIGLYCERIDES 91, HDL 43, LDL 104, CHOLESTEROL / HDL RATIO 3.8.
NOW I am on Atorvostatin 40mg bedtime, brilinta 90mg am/pm, ASA 81MG QD, losartan 25mg daily, metoprolol 25mg daily. 2 years ago I did a calcium scoring test and the result was 41. Now they have also identified calcification in my LAD at 50%. Enlighten me as to WHAT WENT WRONG and where do I go from here. I recogn

do you have pre-diabetes (biggest risk in chart)? ( from A1C reading >5.7) Did you test HOMA-IR for insulin resistance or did they check inflammation markers? Good luck to you.
Well I don’t know you personally but you could do all the good stuff and maybe your genetics is prone towards heart disease. My mom had a stroke my grandfather had a heart attack so I am pretty sure I’m on that path as well. And I am not a diabetic yet I am a little overweight and my calcium score was 1000!
My triglycerides were 106 which is below 150 mark my cholesterol is 49 points above the 200 mark my LDL’s are 45 over 100 my HDL‘s are 83 which is over the 50 which is good and my non-HDL‘s are 36 over.
But the big problem is that I have probably 70 or 75% of my credit artery blocked. And the other one is like 50% blocked. And I’ve been told that I have a strong heart with a mild mitral valve regurgitation. I see myself on the path of a major stroke either without surgery or with surgery or after surgery. Stents are no stents!
So I am terrified to say the least. And of course my doctor has been talking about statins or Repatha.
I am taking a little bit of aspirin and I’m doing garlic niacin gonna start some cayenne and I’m gonna do lemon.
It’s not easy to convince your doctor to do some of the tests that he mentioned because they seem to have big egos and don’t like you suggesting things to them. My doctor is ordering a ton of tests but he still falling back on statins. He hasn’t mentioned one thing about pre-diabetes or insulin resistance which is definitely a problem and losing weight. I’m 50 pounds overweight.
Stuff for me to exercise because of all my bone and muscle pain even though I used to be a long distance runner. I used to run 3 to 6 to 12 miles a day. Not anymore. Now I’m just walking as much as I can.
I guess there’s no easy answer or explanation. The body is an amazing complicated thing. It seems the more I know about the body the less I know where the more I’m aware of how much I do not know. But watching videos like this is important and enlightening and educational. We just have to convince our doctors to listen to us more and be willing to do things differently than the standard pharmaceutical path

I wish there was a Doctor like Doctor Berry in the Johnson City area. You would think Johnson City with a University Medical School there would be producing more Free thinking Doctors. I think BIG Pharma has a lot of (influence) on what is taught in all of the Medical Schools. A Very good Lab test ( BOSTON HEART PANEL), which I have never heard of any doctor in this area ordering is VERY important. I drive to Asheville to get this type of preventive care. My Insurance DOES cover this test, but I do pay for my office visit. I think the reason that I pay for my office visit is because Insurance Companies do NOT want to pay for a FREE (non-propaganda) thinking Doctor who has a brain that does not require following a government chart. These Free thinking doctors are constantly studying, and keep up on the latest research. They do NOT, or buy into BIG Pharma.
By the time your glucose is noticably elevated , the insulin resistance has done decades of damage. You need to test insulin levels to identify this insulin resistance asap. A1c is not a good way test when it obviously doesn't indicate the hyperinsulinemia/ insulin resistance that drives so many conditions, including diabetes.

Just freaking WOW...finally a doctor who is not afraid to speak the truth. I had the heart attack, was "following all the recommendations", walking 3 miles daily...and still had the heart attack. What the other doctors kept saying was"your sugars are too high"...but none gave me the answers on how to ACTUALLY lower the sugars...FINALLY FINALLY Dr Berry has the balls (if you will) to speak the real truth on HOW to actually get things moving in the righ direction. I can't say thank you enough. I have been on carnivore for 2.5 months now and just got my blood work done and significent changes for the good. This for me is now a life long mission. I only regret not finding you sooner. In just 2 months my A1C has gone from 13.1 to 9.1...4 points in just 2 months. Just wow and I join the private thing as well. Great review and doctors need to get on board for a healthy lifestyle. They need to help patients eat better and get rid of toxic “pharmaceuticals “! It is a travesty that our healthcare system is so poor! I graduated from medical school in 1981 and have had a massive amount of good medical education since I retired from primary care at the end of 2019! Mid 60s ketovore woman (18 months on keto) - i have done conventional diets almost my whole life mid teens onwards. Not one worked longterm, although i had plenty of short term successes. I went keto, just to see how it would be, i thought it was a ‘faddy’ diet but had nothing to lose. I had no intention of sticking to it longterm ( many pundits say its not a longterm thing as it is too restrictive). I did a popular diet whose strapline was ‘Nothing tastes as good as slim feels’ but continuing to eat ‘healthy grains’ and starchy foods although i liked the image in the mirror but i didnt feel any different ( well i did a bit, i didnt get quite as hot when going for a walk on a hot day). I have been lucky enough not to have any health issues whatever my weight. But i can now say Living Keto is the best thing i have ever done, walking round supermarkets and a good song is played,i literally have to stop myself dancing in the aisles in case people think i’m a crazy old woman 🤪🤣

I really need to thank you for helping me with starting a Keto diet. In 6 months I have dropped my A1C from 6.3 to 5.7 in just 6 months by just doing what you said! Inflammation is at the root cause of some people's inactivity. It was painful just to walk up my stairs, and I didn't have the stamina. Just a month into a carnivore diet and all the pain is gone. I literally have too much energy to lay around now. I'm always up doing something in the garage or out in the yard. It's difficult to sit around when you feel good.

I am totally on the low carb camp, I am doing Keto. This is a super important video that everyone should see. But one tiny criticism - why say there is no meaningful nutrition in a potato? There is. I don't eat them, but it's not garbage. It's food. Also- nothing wrong with half your plate being veggies. If to you want to promote carnivore- ok, but it's not the only way to eat. Balanced Keto is great too. Mediterranean probably is good too.

You are spot n on what my visit to my doctor was like yesterday! Type2 DB with blood pressure creeping up. Tried low carb but kept falling off the wagon. Started Keto 10 month ago and then Carnivore 6 month ago. HBa1c is 4.9 (108). Cholesterol had gone up but low trigclicerdes. LDL had increased but so had HDL. I was really happy with the results. She focussed on the LDL and started to suggest a statin and I cut her off and said ‘don’t even go there’. I told her I was thrilled to finally reverse my diabetes. I have lost 20kg and from having my own Blood pressure monitor I know my blood pressure is perfect, she didn’t even take my blood pressure. Nor did she weigh me like she used to. She just focussed on the LDL and then ask if I was constipated on the Carnivore diet and said there is a high risk of bowel cancer! I told her my stomach and bowels had never been better as I had suffered from IBS for years but that has all gone. I am either going to find another doctor or stick with this one just to show her she’s wrong. I also told her I have done a heap of research and probably have way more time than she has to read the latest research. She’d probably like to drop me as a patient! Lol. My lipid results are the same as a ripped athletes that Dr PaulMason in a LowCardDownUnder video used as an example where an insurance company refused this guy insurance as his cholesterol was too high. Dr Mason showed they were actually excellent. Oh and my triglycerides were actually lower than this guys too.

Sounds like my doctor. I can't afford to keep trying out new PCPs to find one who knows as much about nutrition, statins, etc. as I do, thanks to Drs Berry, Cywess, Paul Mason, Eric Westman, and Sten Ekberg.
I learned their are two main types of LDL. SMALL LDLs & large LDLS. The small LDL cause the heart attacks & strokes. I learned I had the large LDL's as a Keto fan for many years. Before Keto I had 5 coronary stents and 2 strokes. Since Keto not one & lost nearly 70 lbs! And 74 years young! Dr. Berry is terrific he led me to have a test for muscle spasms which resulted in a diagnosis of small artery disease ( I'm taking vit D3 & K2 mk7 for a possible healing & prayer. God bless you!

I don't think we need to plan on having a heart attack and just be thankful we can delay it. It's very possible to never have a heart attack. I've been carnivore for 3 years and celebrate my 80th birthday next month. I feel great and plan to be around and in good health for quite a few more years. Thank you Dr. Berry! I'm 75. I've been on keto/low carb and have lost 23 pounds in three months. I stopped taking pravastatin before seeing the Dr. Muscles and joints feel so much better. Fasting glucose from 102>78. HbA1c is 5.7 (not tested before). Triglycerides 55, HDL 78, total cholesterol calculated 192. All my doc wanted to talk about was getting back on "maybe" a different statin and that my ketones were 2+ and had a RED FLAG on the lab report. I refused a new statin. Seeing a doc in southern Arizona when on Medicare is a challenge. You get 15 minutes and boilerplate. I've had 6 docs in twelve years and they are all brainwashed to what lowers their liability. In March I will ask for more tests and see what happens with the docs cooperation.
I STARTED THE CARNIVORE DIET.
Im two days in and I feel amazing. I had never had a day in my life where I had zero sugars. Now I have 2. Im excited to get to my first week. I believe i will make it 5 more days and then I should lose some weight. I feel different not eating oreos, drinking soda, milk, juice. No burger king. Its awesome. Dr Berry, I have just found this video....and you just blew me away when you talked about LDL. It has been a HUGE part of every encounter that I have with any doctor. I am a 71 yr old female...have had high cholesterol my entire life as had my mom (over 300 and lived to age 95 with no heart issues) and all 4 of my brothers...dad did not. Not one dr has ever tested my a1c as glucose is always normal. But oh the fear mongering over my cholesterol and my LDL. HDL is 70+ but that is ignored. Anyway, I was sent to a cardiologist and that is THE FIRST thing brought up.... he was rather angry at me b/c I said I was not going to take any darn statins...and he made a snarky remark that too many people make "bad decisions" but when he has to "crack open" someone's chest b/c they had a stroke or heart attack, then they do whatever he tells them...he then says, "I'm not trying to scare you" to which I said, " I do not scare easily". Thank you for speaking to this...I personally believe statins do more harm than good....ever think about moving to PA? 😁
Middle aged woman goes to doctor and says she's having heart problems. Doctor tells her it's just stress and suggests it's all in her head, gives her a pat on the shoulder and says she needs a pap smear and mammogram. She comes back in a few weeks, saying her chest pain is really bad and he sends her for a colonoscopy. Finally, she's brought to ER in ambulance, but it's too late. This is why I avoid doctors as much as possible. If you're a female they don't take you seriously, talk down to you and treat you like you're just trying to get drugs.
The same thing happened to my mom 30 years ago. Kept going in with complaints of chest pain and told it was anxiety. Died a few weeks later of a massive heart attack.

I watch all of Doctor Berry's UA-cam videos, and he makes a lot of them. including his Monday night live chat question and answer hour. But this particular video about heart attack risk, it is one of the finest UA-cam video he has ever made. Because this pie chart presentation is so clear, and Dr Berry speaks so patiently and respectfully. I am sharing this video with my managers at work. The managers like to have meetings where they provide 'complimentary' snacks, such as cake, cookies, potato chips, orange juice, even ice cream and popsicles. When I ask maybe they could change the snacks to things like boiled eggs, carrots and celery, the answer I got back is eggs smell bad, and if they are not giving cake, they might try giving fruit.

Yes, this is one of his best. I think the pie chart of all risks is a great perspective on what should be a person's priorities for health. The common mistake most people make is to pick on some minor factor of risk (example: cholesterol), while ignoring the massive risks that are "inconvenient" because its not what your average doctor will help you with.
The massive risk is HYPERINSULINEMIA, which on the pie chart shows as obesity and metabolic syndrome and hypertension and diabetes. Aside from smoking, hyperinsulinemia is the elephant in the room. But most people do not get a fasting insulin test, and if they do, their doctor probably does not appreciate what is the optimal range and what are the danger levels.

I've told my doctor that I'm not just digging my heels in with regards to not taking a statin but that I have done my own research so I am making an informed decision. I just told my GP that I understand she has to make the suggestion. I've still got to do the same with my cardiologist. I've just had a CAC of zero and at 65 I'm expecting the "take a statin as a prevention". No thanks. I am tempted to ask these questions: who taught you/where did you get your information about statins (probably pharma reps or pharma literature), who paid for the research of the statins (pharma), are you getting any kickback for prescribing (I strongly suspect that he is).
I told my GP the other day that statins have been shown to worsen diabetes and she said oh there is new research coming out that it helps with diabetes. She didn't even know about the different LDL particle sizes. I had the get the test name from the pathologist and she then did some research about it, so she has learned something. Hopefully she will be able to put it to good use.

My grandmother always said to refuse statins if they were ever recommended, she said her friends went down hill fast after being placed on those. She lived to be 92.

I'm 82 and had a heart murmur for several years due to an anomaly in a heart valve. My cardiologist continued to monitor it and focused on my LDL ( I was on a KETO lifestyle) and fat consumption. I contacted un vac Covid which was a moderate cold and subsequently developed heart failure. After having two stents and a new valve, I seemed to on the road to recovery. We changed cardiologists because of lack of responsiveness and geography. The new doctor immediately ordered a Life Vest because of heart arrhythmia. I now have a pacemaker/defibrillator. My GP was more concerned with BP/Cholesterol and weight over the years.

I go to the cardio each year for prevention due to family history. Last I went was October 2021. Tests done: "high" cholesterol (my normal 240 I've had my whole life, from BMi = 16 to BMI = 35), high triglycerides (a first in my 47 y at the time) and the most important high insulin (56 wwhen I should be up to 15; glucose 94).
Mild mitral regurgitation.
My doc: reduce sodium intake (despite me telling her I didn't eat salt for 47 y) and loose weight by eating veggies obviously. Keep the BP med and add statins.
I already did all of this and was gaining weight. Just started carnivore and next week I am going to do blood work on my own to see how it will go.

“Pre-Diabetes” is a pretty good indication that someone already has insulin resistance.
Since the “healthy range” is 70-100, if your blood sugar is floating to the top of that range you should ALWAYS do an A1C! Not wait til you are 20 point above that range! I can remember a doctor telling me “your fine, just pre diabetic.” I was already insulin resistant. That’s the real disease, diabetes is just the symptom.
Take on medical students and teach them all well Dr. Ken, Please! Then send them out to become private family doctors to do house calls. I swear we need them and fingers crossed it will be in the near new future of health care! Thank you for all you do!

The doctor shared very specifically about the actual heart care that everyone needs and how well it should be done. That is, we need to pay attention to eating, resting, and exercising properly, regularly, will help yourself have a good cardiovascular system.
It is pretty obvious that we have to be our own doctor first. This seems to really piss off a lot of physicians. My daughter for a couple of years had unexplainable symptoms and just kept being told she had carpal tunnel. She came across a video about MS and asked her daughter to test her and sure enough She has MS 😢. The doctor never apologized of course🤷🏻♀️ I feel sorry for all the people who do not use the Internet to find real life people going through the same things there and finding some solutions. We are afraid to bring it up to the doctor for fear of pissing them off. It’s a very sad sad situation

I've been reading about the fasting insulin test for years and requested it many times but it wasn't offered. Finally I was able to get it by special request before my blood test. The doctor gave permission. I'm the first person in my town to get this test. It'll happen in December. 🤞

physician focused on cholesterol numbers.. As I took med for about 4 months, I could feel my healthy well-being diminishing. I researched side effects of stations. Once medicine eliminated my over all health returned. I felt horrible during RX. Lesson was a valuable one. Bless you for sharing true compassion for your people before the alluring $$$.

Also, our industrial food manufacturers have changed the ingredients. The people 45 and younger eat more fake food and garbage then us older generations did. When I was growing up, we always ate dinner at the table, together, no phones, no TV, no computers. We took our time and had conversations about life while eating meat, or chicken, fish with veg and a starch. All of this was cooked from scratch with lard, bacon fat or butter. My grannie lived to 103. My parents, 83 and 85, no meds and still very active. They still eat the way we did as a young family. This is the way to a long and healthy life.

And I see young men binge drinking after stressful days at work. My son's roommate comes home, drinks three IPAs and falls asleep on the couch after eating a bag of Doritos. He might eat a bag of steamed vegetables too, thinking that makes it all better.
The child I babysit from time to time is seven years old. I told her we would work on some gymnastic moves. Lo and behold! She is so inflexible that she screams when going into a back bend. Her arms are weak, and she has problems holding positions. It's what watching videos instead of playing outside will do for you!

Just wanted to tell you I started taking CoQ10 (800 m a day as I'm on 4 meds) as you mentioned in you video about CoQ10 and feel a lot better. I've had 2-3 nights a week of no sleep at all for almost my whole life. Medical community has tried everything they could think of (I use THINK lightly) then just gave up on me. I was told it's my fault, that I was a hyper person, and that I needed to learn to just relax. I felt like I was dying. I usually go 2-3 days without sleeping and then just pass out. Funny thing is I'm not tired until the last minute before I fall asleep and anything can wake me up. It was very useful when I had my daughter for nightly feedings. Husband was use to it. First memory is of me maybe 4 yr. old walking around my parents house 1-2:00 am wishing someone would wake up. I knew it wasn't the first time. Been checked for everything. Used to have nightly nightmare as a kid, still do occasionally. I've been to many many doctors plus sleep clinics and therapy. Last dr just said he had no clue, gave up and told me not to come back. None of them ever checked what i was missing, just what i had too much of. Dr. Berry hit it on the head right out of the gate. I'm no looking a gift horse in the mouth. I consider it a blessing. It may not last forever... I still have sleepless nights but maybe once a week if that. But for now it's working. I'm very happy to hear the hormones gives you 8 hrs. sleep. Glad it's helping someone. Sorry for the rant. I'm a touch hyper.

I had a heart attack 2.5yrs ago. Essentially clogged arteries and smoking for 42yrs. I quit smoking cold Turkey the day of my heart attack. I have 4 stints in my arteries.
I'm currently 62yrs old, 5'9 and 100lbs overweight.
My cardiologist is giving me Atorvastatitn and blood thinners. But hasn't recommended any particular diet.
I'm gonna go carnivore diet.
We lost a friend of ours 3 weeks ago to a heart attack and he was only 63 years old, it was completely unexpected, his wife is devastated. He smoked but wasn't overweight. He just dropped dead.

My cholesterol was really high also. I’ve been off my statin for 2 years and she wants me to get back on them. I’m thinking it was from being so low carb. My liver was making more cholesterol than I was using. I’m going to try add some carbs before my next check up.
I’m 69 and my total cholesterol was 415 , ldl 330, a1c 5.3, 120lbs. I told her I would try treating it with my diet.

Since most heart attacks happen at 9:30am on a Monday, I just sleep in on Mondays to reduce or eliminate the most obvious risk factor:. Stressful Monday mornings at work. 😒. And I stay away from harmful Western medical procedures in general
Am already facing 3 stents soon due to heart disease. This year I have lost 17 lbs (from 172; 5'2") doing Keto, lowered my A1c from 5.9 to 5.4 in first 2 months of keto, and pestered my doctors into doing more tests until voila! they found the heart problem with an angiogram. I complained of tiredness for two years and they kept saying I was fine. I don't drink, smoke, am somewhat active and the only thing the doctors can advise are statins and a traditional diet, but I believe keto is what will save me. At 74 I am a poster child for what the food pyramid does to people. I stopped the statins because they quickly raised my insulin levels, upped cravings I had under control and distressed my intestines. I will probably have to lie to the doctors about my keto diet. I pay for my own A1c tests because neither my PCP nor cardiologists want to test me more than once a year. I test glucose and ketones at home.

Thank you for this video. I'm on 2 different meds for BP. My doctor wanted my BP under 120. I can't keep in under 120. This has stressed me terribly. I have a terrible time just taking my BP. This video has brought me a tremendous amount of peace.
