Dexa Scan T-score -1.0 to -2.5 is Osteopenia
T-score less than -2.5 is Osteoporosis
Bone is 40-50% inorganic component (hydroxyapatite), 10-15% water and 35% organic component(protein). 90% of the organic component is collagen Type 1 and the remaining 10% non-collagenous proteins
*Osteoblasts-formation of bone, secrete alkaline phosphatase to create sites for calcium and phosphate deposition.
*Osteoclasts-bone resorption, secretes acid phosphatase which unfixes the calcium
*Osteocytes are osteoblasts which are responsible for homeostasis of oxygen and mineral levels.
Function: Supports the body, protects the organs, produces blood cells, and stores minerals and fats.
**Collagen, the protein that gives bones a framework for strength and flexibility
**Calcium-phosphate mineral complexes, that fill in the gaps between the collagen frame work, making bones hard and strong
**Living bone cells that remove and replace weakened sections of bone
    KoACT-Calcium collagen chelate
    Animal Study-8 weeks
    4 groups
    No supplement
    KoACT-increased bone density by 3.5%
    10x KoACT-increased bone strength by 10%
Calcium and Collagen supplement increase bone strength by 1%
    Study
    39 women
    2 groups-12 months Post-menopausal women.
5 g of CC(calcium-collagen chelate) which contains 500 mg of elemental calcium and 200 IU Vitamin D
500 mg of calcium and 200 IU of Vitamin D
The loss of whole body BMD in women taking CC was substantially lower than that of the control group at twelve months
KoACT improves bone synthesis and reduces bone loss
    - KoACT counteracts the natural process of bone loss in post-
    menopausal women
    - KoACT improves bone mineral density
    - KoACT improves bone mineral density better than calcium in post-

Thank you Dr. Sung!! I have been concerned about the health of my bones. 55 and just in menopause recently PLUS being treated for CIRS & mold toxicity. With my high inflammation and how hard it is to detox I will look into KoACT. My functional never brought this up. She basically recommends a test and then diagnosis it only without considering what I tell her is going on. The pains in my elbow and knees & legs have kept me from exercising mostly due to low MSH I’m sure but it increases pain. My right hip area is bad. Need to get on your recommendations here!!!

Can osteoporosis be reversed if it’s due to a parathyroid tumor? I’m 58. This week I had mine and I’ve been reasonably on target with them but with Cøvid got off track so it’s been 2-3 years. Unfortunately my loss is so severe since my last scan that the doctor believes it’s a parathyroid tumor. I have thyroid nodules but my endocrinologist never mentioned the parathyroid and the additional problems that can occur if it’s not functioning properly. So my doctor is running some additional bloodwork but I’m faced with how to now reverse it at least back to the point of what’s considered normal for my age.

OK. I’m taking Fosamax and I’m going to stop but I have a question. I’m going to go the route of a good KoAct supplement (already purchased). However, I currently have a hydrolyzed collagen, peptide powder (high quality non vegan grass fed) every day. Since KoAct has collagen peptides in it, should I discontinue taking my collagen powder every day?

From what I read, the K2 MK7 will prevent the calcium from going into the arteries and instead redirects it to our bones.

I have hypothyroidism. I’ve been on various medications: synthroid, lyvoxothroxin, armor, various doses, sometimes as high as 125 mcg, for the past 40 years.
Currently taking a compound med; dissected pig 105 mcg.
Suffering from osteoporosis, currently at -2.6 lumbar spine osteopenia in my femoral neck of both hips.
Could my thyroid med be the culprit.
I play USTA league tennis, I eat well, veggies, meat, fish. I do drink wine, or water.

I have no thyroid since I’ve been 17 was removed been on eltroxn thyroxine etc since I’m not 55 just been diagnosed osteoporosis I think I’m at the same number as you was told 2.7 but I’m in Australia so I didn’t get a negative number there I don’t think they use the negative number but yeah probably -2.7 didn’t say exactly where but they took three photos one of my wrist one of my chest and my spine the doctor said my bones are like eggshells I’m freaking out because I’m only 55 I eat well I eat healthy I don’t smoke I don’t drink a lot sometimes I drink wine sometimes I drink beer but only one drink if I do I drink a lot of water I exercise I used to go to the gym a lot and do weights but in the last month or two I have not been…. now I am diagnosed with osteoporosis and I’m terrified because I’m so young still my jealous of L chocks and thyroxin is 75 mg in grams or micrograms through the week and then 50 on the weekend I don’t know why that changed just recently I’ve had a lot of issues with my gut as well it seems I always have diarrhoea Set a suspecting that my body is not retaining the nutrition that it needs or my bone are not retaining the nutrition that they need… I have faith I’ve been doing a lot of research and it looks like we can increase our bone mass and make them stronger without medication from the doctor I’ve heard a lot of horror stories too I’m going to start taking vitamin D3 and K2 also look into why I have diarrhoea so I have to fix my gut…

I have no thyroid since 2016 . I am 51 now and have recently diagnosed with osteoporosis . My doctor said she sees these results in 75 yo women. I am on thyroxine 100ml per day. I am also in Australia. My gp wants me to get Prolia injection every 6 months. I am terrified to take drugs for osteoporosis. I am taking 5000 UI vitamin D K2 magnesium. Bone broth and trampoline exercises 10 min every day. Also walking 6-8 k every single day. I don’t want to take calcium as they say it clots arteries

I'm confused with your presentation on the Human Study results. You enumerated two supplements, 1) Calcium and Vitamin D 2) CoAct and Vit D and then concluded an increase in bone mass. Does the conclusion of an increase of bone mass correlate with both supplement schedules OR was one supplement combo found to be superior?

@@DrJinSung You are awesome, thank you. I am at a -5.7 but not sure how accurate it is. I have multiple compression fractures I believe due to my thyroid not working properly, then had cancer and full removal 2 years ago. I saw bone specialist and urine test and my markers to her all look good. She is sending me to genetic testing. Meanwhile I got diagnosed with lupus and can't take steroids as you know. So I am in PT, taking collagen with Fortibone, etc, naturelo vitamins, colostrum (wondercow) and sulfurzyme/mushrooms. Would this replace the naturelo and would I still be okay to take the collagen with the fortigel. Or can I take Naturelo along with the KoAct. Thanks for all you do.

Good morning! I have precursor to osteo [osteopenia] and have listened to MANY UA-cam talks about this subject. The one time I heard about vertical [up and down movement] was from my chiropractor and that convinced me. There is conflicting info on the internet, so I just went with my dr. recommendation. The other things that help bone density are weight-bearing exercises and adding estrogen if you are a candidate. Most doctors, even my female internist are not educated in postmenopausal issues. I had to print out research papers explaining what kind of estrogen/progesterone I needed and the amounts. Even the female pharmacist needed the information from me. I now have what I need. The Menopause Society has a website to find a menopause specialist by location, a great resource!
      Have a great day @@user-kh3lo2bd5s
