      Seriously man, I'm neither religious nor do I believe in the afterlife, but somehow I still think Randy would've been proud of your rendition. So much brilliant technique, fast as hell and still so much feeling, simply perfect!

      Man, I know. Right now I’m just picking up a guitar after seeing Randy play the Crowley solo, I’ve been wanting to play guitar for years and years, since 7, piano too. My parents never let me play because they thought it was a waste of time, now that I’m 18 I know it’s not “to late” but knowing that I could’ve started younger sucks.

    0:34 It's incredible that in such a technically intricate solo one of the most difficult parts to master is a "simple" bend. I've never heard anyone hit the same note with the same tone as Randy for that part. This is utterly exceptional, and that isn't meant as a criticism whatsoever, it's just a testament to Randy's tone.

      @slimshady951000 2 місяці тому +1

      I agree. What seems like a “simple” bend is not so simple. How hard you pick the string, how fast or slow you bend the string, how high or low you bend the string, all play a part in producing a unique sound.

    My favorite guitar solo in rock. Randy Rhoads was a complete master. The solo is technically difficult but also heavily melodic. It's a pleasure to listen to it. Some solos in current metal music are so complex that it becomes hard to make any musical sense out of them, even if they are impressive on a technical level. But this solo adds so much to the song. A true classic. We really lost an all time great when Randy Died.

    This is first time I have seen someone play My. Crowley 100% note for note perfect and in complete reverence and respect for the original, he expands on it and truly augments the piece. I've watched this at least 100 times in the last year or so. This is, simply put, a master piece, Charlie. Outstanding! Here we have two artists that despite all the vile things humans do, justify our continued existence.

    Back in 1981, when I was in 7th grade, me and my friend spent the night in my friends boat. We only had one Walkman and one blizzard of Oz tape and we passed it around and took turns listening to it. I fell in love with Randy Rhoads guitar playing.
    Been listening to Randy and people trying to cover his music for decades.
    I have NEVER heard anybody play Rhoads and do justice to the beauty of his playing ability like this! Not ever.
    There was something beyond raw skill in his playing. The composition of his music far exceeded that of the great Eddie Van Halen, as great as he was. Eddie was a tactician and one hell of a tactician at that. But, the melody and composition put Randy on a different plane.
    Indeed, to compare them is somewhat unfair, like comparing apples to oranges. But for me, Randy’s playing touched the more than heart, while Eddies style made me want to go do something crazy and party.
    Both awesome. For those looking to feel something deeper, I believe Randy was better. It’s all a matter of what you’re looking for in your music.
    I think Randy Rhoads was the best. If only he’d lived longer....what we might have seen...and felt.

    The more I play guitar the more things I find captivating about your playing. On this listen I just did I'm blown away at how clean your bends are. You bend the shit out of those strings and are doing pinch harmonics at the top or bottom of the bend, and it always sounds super crisp. I don't know how the heck you're doing that.

      Nice job. I was the 20 YO kid at the Oklahoma concert standing right in front of Randy for awhile. I turned around and saw everybody in their seats looking at me in anger so I went back to the rear with the gear. I was stationed at Fort Sill and it was in 1982, a few weeks before Randy's misadventure.

      I read the same thing. BUT also read something else that said he dabbled in coke from time to time. That was kinda the norm back then and im sure he wasnt a habitual user, but only his close friends will ever KNOW the truth. We can just continue to worship him as the guitar god he was and will always be :)

      was actually in interview with Sharon ozborne i think. And i think it was a guitar magazine cause thats the only ones i get lol. Lots of info but then again, who to believe. We will never know for sure but to me it doesnt matter cause he is still the best imo.

      @Robbie28 7 років тому

      Yea, i knew i had read it. But ya know, around that time, almost everyone did it and it wasnt a big deal like today. At that time, I think the vast majority of rock performers used drugs at times and obviously some more than others OZZY lol
