    Randy Rhoads was quite possibly the best composer & musician that I have ever met in my life. He came into my life like a bolt of lightning and as such he was gone again. I consider my self one of the luckiest men alive to have not only met him but also I had the great honor of being able to work with him. I will cherish the time I spent with him till the day I die LONG LIVE RANDY RHOADS. LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL. I LOVE YOU ALL. - OZZY OSBOURNE

    Everyone is talking about the guitar solo, and it is probably one of the greatest guitar solos of all time, but I think that that amazing keyboard solo at the beginning should be given some love, too.

    • @Musician7831
      @Musician7831 Рік тому +22

      I also think that it's impressive that the double solo effect on the second solo is basically the keyboard soloing similar notes to the guitar. It's incredibly good choice of sound effect and incredible keyboard playing.

    • @Musician7831
      @Musician7831 Рік тому +15

      Basically up to 4:38 on the second solo, the main solo is the keyboard with this weird arp guitar like effect, then the guitar takes over more after 4:37/4:38. Wicked keyboard playing.

    • @Musician7831
      @Musician7831 Рік тому +4

      So basically between 3:39 and 4:38 the loudest soloing is the keyboard with a weird guitar like sound effect sampled through it. I know cos even though I don't know the song I know the fretboard pretty well.

    I'm 66 years old. I've been playing guitar since I was 14. I've seen and heard thousands of guitar players and solos. This solo on Mr. Crowley is probably the best composed guitar solo I've ever heard. Every note is wired to the chord. The legato is so smooth, and the wild bend still blow me away, no matter how many times I've heard and played it. No matter how old or how good I get, I'll never get it to sound like Randy. But then, nobody can. He was one of a kind and we lost him all too soon like so many other great musicians who died much too young, going back to Buddy Holly.

However his thumbnails were horrific, awful, just no words to describe how nasty they were... Why the hell did he let them grow ?? Didn't he realize this is the most awful thing in the world ? I just wish he had the balls to make Sharon put out the professionally filmed concerts that's a fact that she had taken on the Blizzard and Diary tours. It's such a freakin shame how little clear footage there is of Randy that exists out here. It's so infuriating knowing the film's exist yet they won't release them. Bob Daisley also has live recordings and videos of Randy... he's posted bits and pieces of the recordings on his website but also won't release what's called The Holy Grail. I just posted this under another comment but I'll say it here too... what's fucked up is that it's a fact that Sharon had parts of the Blizzard and especially the Diary tours professionally filmed and the witch will not release any of them. It makes no sense. Bob Daisley confirmed this as well as he has what's called The Holy Grail... recordings and videos of Randy.. he's released bits and pieces of the recordings on his website but he also won't freakin release the Holy Grail... I'm pretty sure for monetary reasons from what I remember. But you'd think after all these years they'd all step back from the money and just let the fans have some great concert footage of Randy considering there's still so many millions of people who would love to see them. It's seriously shameful and such a bummer!!!

      @@rodneywoodcock8235 Actually,.. you're right. Sorry for putting him down so harshly. Believe me.. I know how much he did to make those albums as great as they are as well as the rest of his incredible career. I do think that if it was me.. I just wouldn't care about the money at this point just cause Randy's legacy deserves to be seen and heard more widely than what's available. Sharon is a money hoarding piece of shit though and I don't know what her offer was to him.. I'm sure it was grossly undercutting him considering all she's ridiculously done to him. But still... I think he should at some point before it's too late... just do a dump of the whole lot either on his website or on UA-cam and just give it to the masses so it could be copied before it'd be taken down. They all know how little there is of Randy to be seen. Sharon is definitely at most fault and I wish Ozzy had half a brain and some balls to tell her wtf she should do for the person who saved his career.. along with Bob and Lee of course. I just get pissed every time I think of them having film's and not sharing them. But I will definitely take what you said into account in any future remarks I make about it. Thanks alot. 🙏

    Arguably one of, if not the, greatest live performances recorded.

      Check out war pigs live in France when Ozzy was with Black Sabbath. Bill Ward on the drums was phenomenal and Ozzy’s vocals were more powerful than here

      After seeing many amazing performances, The Eagles, Modern Rappers, Guitarists, this song definetly is up there. The vocals and guitar are phenomenal here

    Randy was a classical genius. He was the Mozart of the 80’s.

    The thing I love about Ozzy the most, he always looked in awe of the musicians he was playing with, like he really appreciated getting to play with them. He's probably the most prolific front man in metal history, yet still so humble. What a fucking legend.

      Yeah, I agree. I'm sure he dished some but Generally looks at his band members like he respects their talent. I rarely ever seen him seem bored of his songs like some singers do after a few years. I guess it is bcz he has so many that he doesn't rely on one or two hits to sing over and over. I know this is crazy but I'd rank Ozzy up there still as my favorite singer even at his age as he still sounds amazing. My favorite song that shows his range is a BS song called She's Gone.
