Everyone is talking about the guitar solo, and it is probably one of the greatest guitar solos of all time, but I think that that amazing keyboard solo at the beginning should be given some love, too.
I also think that it's impressive that the double solo effect on the second solo is basically the keyboard soloing similar notes to the guitar. It's incredibly good choice of sound effect and incredible keyboard playing.
Basically up to 4:38 on the second solo, the main solo is the keyboard with this weird arp guitar like effect, then the guitar takes over more after 4:37/4:38. Wicked keyboard playing.
So basically between 3:39 and 4:38 the loudest soloing is the keyboard with a weird guitar like sound effect sampled through it. I know cos even though I don't know the song I know the fretboard pretty well.

I love how ozzy marvels at randy during the outro.... back and forth with drums ... he loves it. So genuine. I can see how losing him in tragedy wreck ozzy for a bit.
Keyboardist is underrated, the intro was great and you can hear it in the background which adds to Randy's guitar playing and Ozzy's voice. All of the members did really well in the song!
I love how ozzy always looks back at his band mates, like he is just so happy to be with them and doing the stuff that they love, making music. Real Brotherhood, don't see that a lot these days
Actually he wnated to go under a band name, those guys were a real band, not just ozzy plus employees, they used his name for business and contract issues though
Like cliff burton, when randy passed, ozzy and metallica's sound was never quite the same. That classical, yet hard edged rock aspect died with rhoads. Ozzy has worked with many great musicians, but rhoads to him, was like page to plant. I have noticed that after years of being an ozzy fan. That was one musical wound that never healed.
@@AminPaulin Ozzy looked out of place and confused. Because RR actually knew what, why and how he was playing. Ozzy winged everything. Not that he was a bad singer, but come on...talk music theory and he's done by the second word.
Some people are greatly skilled technicians and some are virtuosos. Fly by the seat of thier pants. It's when you can put them together and the virtuoso learns to do on demand what they are feeling, and the technician learns to reach deep down and touch primal energy you get what we see here So rare and so beautiful!
Randy Rhoads December 6, 1956 - March 19, 1982 We lost him 40 years ago today. It would have been great to see what his future in music would have brought us. True genius. R.I.P.
Randy died 42 years ago today 😓😩 His contributions to music of all genres can never be overstated. In this video you can also see such awesome gear...Minimoog , Marshall amps etc...
Nothing to compared to hearing Duane play and watching Butch Trucks play a simple drum. But this randy thing is nothing like anything Duane played nor what Gilmore played. Lots of notes isn't that impressive.
The best part about this performance, for me, is that Ozzy clearly is genuinely a fan of RR and is rocking out to his soloing like a fan in the audience. So cool to see.
Came out here to check out Randy on what was the last time he played in concert on this day so many years ago. Ozz definitely loved Randy... I just wish he had the balls to make Sharon put out the professionally filmed concerts that's a fact that she had taken on the Blizzard and Diary tours. It's such a freakin shame how little clear footage there is of Randy that exists out here. It's so infuriating knowing the film's exist yet they won't release them. Bob Daisley also has live recordings and videos of Randy... he's posted bits and pieces of the recordings on his website but also won't release what's called The Holy Grail. Pretty sure it's for monetary reasons but after all these years it's fuckin pathetic how they hold onto them and not share them with the world!! 😓
Randy was and still is one of the most interesting guitar players to have ever walked the earth. Having a classical music upbringing and wanting to leave Ozzy’s band to become a classical guitar player shows so much in everything he wrote.
Best bit is that he never really "wrote" it. Ozzy didn't like any of the ones Randy wrote specifically for the track, Randy got pissed off, went back into the booth, and hammered that one out off the cuff.
@@BDF30 The hell y'all talk about, he didn't even get the lyrics right. Well, I guess it's probably better than other live versions, never heard those.
Randy does the second best guitar solo in the history of rock n' roll... then he waits a little bit and he simply does the best guitar solo of all time.
I love how Ozzy is scratching his head mesmerized by what he’s listening to. Like: Unbelievable!! Best players Ozzy ever had, those 3 together we’re just perfect.
I love Randy a lot, so much so that I’ve even visited where he taught music. But I honestly think you have to put this lineup and the OG Sabbath lineup on at least even grounds. Geezer is a hell of a bassist, bill ward was a fucking animal back in the day and Tony is the riff god of metal. Randy may have been a more technically gifted guitarist but much in the way that Randy played a big part in neoclassical metal, Tony set a lot of the foundation for metal in general as well as basically being the mold for all stoner and doom metal to follow

Sharon is a money hoarding piece of shit though and I don't know what her offer was to him.. I'm sure it was grossly undercutting him considering all she's ridiculously done to him. But still... I think he should at some point before it's too late... just do a dump of the whole lot either on his website or on UA-cam and just give it to the masses so it could be copied before it'd be taken down. Every time! Randy's playing made me want to pick up a guitar. I learned a lot from him. Mainly less is more. Goodbye To Romance is my favorite Ozzy song. The guitar solo is very soulful. It sounds like something Slash would write. Goodbye To Romance was the first Randy Rhoads solo I learned. The second was Crazy Train.

Yeah Ozzy Osbourne has said that, he thinks about him everyday. He meant so much to Ozzy Osbourne and he also never fails to remind us, how good at guitar Randy Rhodes actually was! He's in my top three favorites anyway.
Its funny to see...Ozzy can't barely take his eyes off Randy. He scratches his hair and smiles quite often to him. It's like when you're a kid and find out you are in love for the first time. It is such a shame
After the 4:00 you can see how happy and realized Ozzy was when he was doing this performance; Old songs don't die, they lived forever until become legends. R.I.P Randy we miss u
Ozzy on his Reddit AMA When asked what he would change if he could go back in time, he wrote, “I would make sure Randy never got on that plane.” Breaks me heart man, he loved Randy so much
Sharon's a maggot. She literally has grudges with all ozzys band mates. Kerslake, daisley, soussan,Castillo, Jake e Lee, rudi sarzo, Tommy aldridge. All fantastic musicians. Not to mention Bruce Dickinson, bill ward, Tony iommi and several other notable hard rock people. I dont see how randy would have been any different. He would have been thrown out like garbage too. Make no mistake.
If Randy wouldn't had gotten on that plane almost 40 years ago, he would have been so amazed and proud of how much future guitarists who were and still are influenced by his style of playing. It still hurts me to this day that he is not around. He was such a very sweet ,laid-back, and lovable soul. May he continue to rest in peace!
Yeah, tragic. He was such an exceptional musician in the purest sense of it. I guess even the best of us have a little dumbass in us, and subsequently a few dumbass moments. Randy stepped onto that plane spontaneously to participate in doing divebombs on Ozzy Osbourne's trailer and this world suffers his loss. Oh well, he still left a lot behind for such a short life.
They wasn't being nice to Randy though.. when ozzy found out Randy was about to leave, he punched Randy. Few days after Randy's death, Sharon changed his contract. Randy's mother sued the osbourne for his son's royalty contract.
Check out war pigs live in France when Ozzy was with Black Sabbath. Bill Ward on the drums was phenomenal and Ozzy’s vocals were more powerful than here
After seeing many amazing performances, The Eagles, Modern Rappers, Guitarists, this song definetly is up there. The vocals and guitar are phenomenal here
@Trinacria Nelcuore Agree .. whats funny is they put down Randy ! but somehow spend their time ... watching a video he's playing in ... and take the time to comment . These guys are true Geniuses !
The thing I love about Ozzy the most, he always looked in awe of the musicians he was playing with, like he really appreciated getting to play with them. He's probably the most prolific front man in metal history, yet still so humble. What a fucking legend.
Yeah, I agree. I'm sure he dished some but Generally looks at his band members like he respects their talent. I rarely ever seen him seem bored of his songs like some singers do after a few years. I guess it is bcz he has so many that he doesn't rely on one or two hits to sing over and over. I know this is crazy but I'd rank Ozzy up there still as my favorite singer even at his age as he still sounds amazing. My favorite song that shows his range is a BS song called She's Gone.
