Quantas and jetstar are owned by the same company, quantas has free wifi that works just fine all flight, and I've only ever seen jetstar wifi cost $5 AUD for a whole trip. (Which is less in USD) Virgin I'm pretty sure doesn't do wifi but the overall quality is still better then what I heard about spirit Airlines etc.
Virgin airlines Australia was pretty good with their wifi. honestly, it was very good. It was free, no ads while connecting and a smooth connection process in general, I was able to watch an entire stream vod at 1080p with hardly any buffering. Really nice experience overall 9/10

Years of flying on planes has taught me to always download movies/ music before I get on the flight, or be unblievably tired before I get on so I sleep through it
I feel the same way about traveling internationally and trying to use your phone. Everything is entirely arbitrary. We have come so far technologically yet the companies that control this shit still want you disconnected from the rest of the world. You gotta step on eggshells if you don’t want to end up charged outrageously.
That’s why I’ve always brought a handheld console with me I can’t tell you how much the DS line of consoles have helped me get through some of the most annoying plane rides of my life

jetBlue seems to be the only airline with passable WiFi; I flew to the UK from NY this past week, and although it dropped a fair amount, I was still able to use streaming services like HBO Max without too much issue. I feel your pain here with every other airline though.
Hey, my dad is a Captain of JetBlue, and even HE complains about the Wi-Fi. Probably cause he flys every week. So I slightly agree, it’s the best out of everything, but it’s still bad.

Also if you wanna use everything else on your phone, you have to pay! Wanna use TikTok? PAY Wanna use UA-cam? PAY Wanna use Netflix, stan e.c.t? PAY IT SUCKS! AND ALSO, when you got to pay. YOUR CARD ALWAYS GETS DISABLED. So, then you can’t buy any food or drink.
This is why you download music and videos before the flight so that you can watch/listen to it the whole time. Although, I understand that some people need to use "The Internet" or Insta/Twitter. Thats why I hate the entire flight system. it sucks, its always too hot or too cold, there's always a toddler crying two rows back or someone kicking your chair, and every time you try to fall asleep your head falls forward and wakes you up. Also, even if you do fall asleep by the time you wake up your covered in sweat, drool and your confused to where you even are for a good 10 seconds.

This is why you download music and videos before the flight so that you can watch/listen to it the whole time. Although, I understand that some people need to use "The Internet" or Insta/Twitter. Thats why I hate the entire flight system. it sucks, its always too hot or too cold, there's always a toddler crying two rows back or someone kicking your chair, and every time you try to fall asleep your head falls forward and wakes you up. Also, even if you do fall asleep by the time you wake up your covered in sweat, drool and your confused to where you even are for a good 10 seconds.

Thank you for speaking up on this, I had a last minute college essay for my documentary that needed to be finished on a 10hr flight and I paid for the $15 plan but it never worked👎🏼 I was also sitting next to an architect who needed to send a design plan to his supervisor and couldn’t connect either. AA really needs to get their shit together. People lose their jobs over this stuff and assignments don’t get turned in over these war crimes.
