When I was a young teen and studying history my dad and I walked Captain Jack's Stronghold. It really brought the later lessons about westward expansion in school more meaning.

Gosh I loved that Guy. I think he was based in SoCal so a lot of his exploration was in that area BUT he did get around.

Are you heading to Lassen next now that the road through the park is open?
I’m thinking Lassen in the fall. Not sure where to next. Maybe a BLM location for some dispersed camping.
