I was impressed, I know Bill Devereaux, for I was part of the group which took the ice surveys in the 1980's there. I carried the meter stick for the stationed photos we took on every trip in this cave, to collect data on the ice over the years. I enjoyed several years worth of those volunteer trips, several times a year. Lava Beds is a wonderful and very historic place with so much to see and learn about. Our group also followed leads provided by the park and surveyed some caves and I even discovered one myself. I am pleased to see this video as it shows off the ice in the cave quite well, it really is astounding if you have been to this place in summer. Good job.

Absolutely beautiful! I use to go down there in the alone with my dog and just sit on a ridge and enjoy the beauty and serenity. Time for another visit!

FWIW, the bird songs are Canyon Wren, Western Meadowlark, and Spotted Towhee.

Saunie H. You don’t have to wish. Just search lava beds national monument on the map app and start driving. The place is awesome and surprisingly not crowded. Just look at the views on this video compared to a video of Yosemite. My favorite thing about this place is you do not have to do a guided tour. You can just explore on your own terms

I can remember as a child being part of a group of kids that would go down into the Crystal Cave I am glad I have seen it IRL since it is hard to get to go in it now.

One of the coolest parks in the states, love meandering through these tubes, getting lost for hours...
Whats the best way to get a job at this park?

Hi there! You can find jobs posted on www.usajobs.gov. There are some internship opportunities through other organizations throughout the year, so I would also encourage you to look around for those!

Nice. I thought you didn't have tours of this cave this time of year. Is this from a while ago?

+water_skipper We still have tours only in the winter-- we expect them to start up in early January, but stay tuned on our Facebook and Twitter accounts for up-to-the-moment updates. Filming for this video took place in early spring of this year.

What is the source of the music at the beginning of the video? (I'm surprised it isn't cited.) Thanks.

seriously??? Roller coaster approved from money meant to re-build bridges, dams, roads? I knew a lot of this money would fall into illegal hands but this is ridiculous. The infrastructure money is to make America more safe for towns and cities who can't afford to re-build.
