My a90j has dead pixels as well. Its a damn shame we spend this money and have to worry about so many things. Ill be switching back to mini led next, especially if there is a large jump this year like we are expecting
I saw a company that did some research saying that UV light increases the degradation of OLEDs. It's not just heat or the display being on, it's also UV damage.
I just bought a new TV yesterday.. Couldn't justify spending the extra money on an OLED. I went with a sony x90k, when I was watching side by side with the sony a80k, the x90k looked just as good to me. I also compared the x90k to the LG C1 and I couldn't see any glaring differences in picture quality. Mind you, my TV is in a pretty bright room, so that definitely influenced my decision to get the full array LED, but after watching it last night, the blacks on the x90k are DAMN good, let me tell you. Well worth it in my case and I don't have to worry about this dead pixel crap, burn in issues, nor did I break my bank account for an overhyped tech that will eventually get cheaper and cheaper and more reliable to the point that I can buy it lol.
Wow! So many people seem to have this problem. My Sony Bravia 65" SONY KD-65A89 BAEP bought 2020.12.17 (about 3.5 years old) has even worse dead pixels large clusters mostly at the bottom of the screen. I contacted Sony support here in Sweden and they told me that my guarantee is over (only 2 years). I do not think I will buy OLED in the future, I was considering a new monitor and second TV. On the other hand I have 40" Sony Bravia 1080p LED TV from 2003 that has no dead pixels (totally different technology). I knew about burn-in issues and I was careful with this expensive TV, but dead pixels are something I was not aware of and nothing I can do about. In my view a TV that costs 3000 Euro should last at least for 10 years. I'm planning to make a UA-cam video showing my dead pixels clusters. For those researching OLED TV please consider this information when making decision. Personally I would go for trusted LED technology with mini LED local dimming. One solution to gain trust from the manufacturers (SONY, LG, Samsung) of OLED panels would be to get a 10 years guarantee that the TV would not have major dead pixels issues.
I guess I’ve gotten luck with my 2017 Sony A1E OLED. I use it for cable TV, streaming, and 4K Blu-Rays and haven’t experience any dead pixels or burn-in during the 5 years of daily use.
My LG B7A has none of that, no burn in, not one single pixel out. Used hours everyday since purchase, and I’ve been wanting to upgrade for 2 years but it won’t die and I won’t kill it. Can’t move it to my bedroom because I have a KS8000 in there going strong too
Thanks for the video, do you mind sharing some information. What exact model is this? Is it from this year 2022 tvs? How long do you have the tv and approximately how many hours is it on per day?
my LG CX panel died after 2 years bestbuy came to my home and gave me the LG C3 cause the CX is discontinued they also told me all that has a very short lifespan if buying all that always get warranty 5 years
My LG 65C9 purchased in May 2019 has 12,000 hours on it and looks just like yours except it's only on the lower edge. I don't watch new or sports, it's 100% TV shows and movies. I always use a screen saver so it never sits on the same screen for more than a minute. I'm blown away I spent this kind of money and some 4 years later this TV is basically done. The lower edge distortion is too distracting too watch. I'm thinking of going non-OLED for my next purchase. I don't have the faith that the newer OLED screens are any better.
@@boltongame5054I have an old Led 32 inch TV, the brand is Hisense (Chinese brand) that I bought in 2016. No suspect dead pixel, except that the USB is now loose but that's not really a problem. Of course , it's an IPS LCD, so who am I fooling here😂😂😂😂? Everyone knows that LCD TV are not only cheap but very very long lasting as well
my 60" onn (wally world) tv screen just went out, 2.5yrs old, backlight issue, flashlight up to screen i can barely see the home menu, i do use it a LOT!, sometimes falling asleep with it on, and you tubing a lot as well. what is your suggestion as to which tv i should get next (not onn)? i'm on a tight budget, looking at no more than $400, i just want something to last longer than 2-5yrs. old school tvs lasted for years and years until these flat screen and projection types came out. any opinions are appreciated. btw- i'm thinking of a 60-65"vizio m or v series since they are built for gaming (high usage) even though i don't game, i do have a vizio sound bar hooked up to the current onn. thanks.
I'm not saying in anyway I don't believe you, but are everyone's OLEDs this bad and is this really wide spread. I've tried to find examples of other TVs this severe and can't really find many. I feel like if OLED was really this bad I would hear more of it, but maybe not
My LG OLED C1 tv quit on me after 2 years. Thank goodness I bought a warranty with Costco. I didn’t notice any burn-ins, the picture was still great but it would turn off after 20 seconds. The tech guy took one look at it and noticed a white line down the side and immediately said it was unrepairable. Costco will give me a full refund but I am not sure if I want to buy another OLED. What’s the point if it crashes on you? I have a cheap Vizio tv that is over 10 years old and it still runs good (although not the beautiful picture like an OLED) and has outlasted the OLED.
My oled tv has severe burn in all over. I left a youtube stream up overnight passed out in front of TV. The logo from the UA-cam channel got burned in after just a few hours. Never again. Im done with oled. People act like it only happens after hundreds or thousands of hours with static images. All it took was a few hours and the logo from the content creator will not go away nothing works. So pissed.
Are your tv's still within warranty? If you get dead pixels i'm sure you can get it fixed or replaced especially if you have a warranty through Best Buy or Costco.
Have you heard of the other brands, same age with the same dilemma?? Or is this Isolated to the Sony Brand Only?? Got friends or other tester's that this is happening to??
hey bro wheres your Q and A in discord i dont see ant place to ask a question. why does the lg c1 suck at video play back.every video i play 1080 p blue ray ultra hd looks like shit.its all grainy wtf the deal.
Thank you so much for this video. Would it make sense for me to get the LG G2 which comes with a 5-year warranty against burn in and dead pixels? What do you think?
Agreed that dead pixels are more a prob than burn in. Do you see them in person from a normal viewing distance? Even if those dead pixels "only" are 5 for example? Have you ever had a problem with stuck pixels on OLED? Because those have to be even more annoying
You have warranty for dead pixels, i had my panel changed by LG for only 3 dead pixels after 1 year. I just call them and they opened a repair immediately. Next day the repair guy asked me for some pictures as proof an then he made the order for the new panel. In 1 week i had everything done and my c1 is good as new
My 2020 LG 55CX tv ,10 months later after I bought all these burn spots started popping up probably because I'm a gamer that TV is not built to play video games is a trap don't believe the hype, in the other hand my TV before that was a Samsung 2015 top model and that started to show problems after 5 years in I started seeing bad pixels and little dark spots in the edges like yore video and I'm a true hardcore video gamer in my opinion that's not bad at all Samsung is a much better TV built to play games 🎮 LG does has a awesome look to it once you get your hand on it for the first time you be amazed but that look don't last at all. I love your channel keep speaking the truth keep exposing these scammers 👍
I checked my c9 edges and i have a bunch of dead pixels on mine too i don't really keep my Tvs for more than 5 years so it doesn't really bother me but if you're someone that likes to run their tech to the ground it'll most likely become a big problem for you in the long run
I’m hoping mini led will continue to evolve and make improvements. The Oled technology is good heck great. But the investment for a Oled I just can’t agree with. The lifespan, I just can’t. That’s just me. LED has its weakness but I can compromise with little blooming or whatever the case maybe. And enjoy a tv for many many years and feel better knowing I spent 1,2,3, thousands dollars.
Wow! I absolutely hate stuff that I know is there, I'm always looking for problems! That's unbelievable, please tell me that's not a C1 you are showing?
if buying a oled get warranty they burn out fast no matter what u do pc blu ray movies playstation or xbox the panels die fast you have about 3,500.00 watch tv should last you 2 years of watching every day if your a gamer faster death on a oled
Well, besides minor, to be expected, burn in on Grayscale and Red, after ~5.000h of displaying CNN, most OLEDs in RTINGS Longevity test still are holding up strong. So i doubt that "you have about 3.500h"...
Some tv simply dont last as long as they should. Luck of the draw. My first plasma was a $2000 42in Toshiba from 2006 if I remember correctly. Died in 6 years, screen stopped coming on or was distorted and sound started being weird. Went and picked up a 2011 Lg 50in store display model for $500 as a quick fix and it has been going strong till this day. There's just no guarantee on what will and wont last any more.
My 2018 55c7v oled has no dead pixel. The only time I saw this on was on a demo lg oled 55c6 in a supermarket runing the same shit in intense mode 100/100 10 hours a day !
I am also facing this issue on my C9 Its been 2 and a half years since I bought it but last year I had also replaced the panel in warranty cuz my Old OLED panel had this same issue this is probably gonna be my first and last OLED tv due to this reason lol I know OLED TVs are undisputed technology amongst the other
Fuck it I might go for that Q90R 65 inch Walmart has it even on a 75 inch fuck all these tv they always fuck up everything the Q90R even supports 120 refresh rate
The deal was so cheap 9n my 77 c1 that in 2 or 3 years of warranty replacement and or any thing happening to my oled I won't care. Also by that time time led tvs will do well enough with blooming that I can live with.
Thinner, bigger screens means thicker, bigger problems. 4k is awful. If you buy an 8k telly, here’s your ding-dong card, please report to the nearest head-doctor in forty-eight hours.
This makes me happy I went with the qn90a over the C1. While the C1 does look incredible, I'd be pissed to be dealing with these types of issues after a couple years.

I just saw this right now with my tv , I don’t think I’ll ever buy an oled again. I paid a great deal on that tv
Thanks for the video, do you mind sharing some information. What exact model is this? Is it from this year 2022 tvs? How long do you have the tv and approximately how many hours is it on per day?
This is how it looks likes on the left border of my CX, in addition to a small clump of dead pixels on the top and bottom left corners.

Hi quantum could this be because of your settings and pushing the tv to its best ?
What brand is this tv that you are presenting?
Have you been using panels refresh alot? If you do maybe this could cause it.
I thought pixel cleaning etc was a good thing?
The only refresh happened, automatically after 2000hrs...thanks for trying to help...but I got this.
Just ordered a 77 inch C1 a week ago, this video makes me nervous lol
My oled tv has severe burn in all over. I left a youtube stream up overnight passed out in front of TV. The logo from the UA-cam channel got burned in after just a few hours. Never again. Is there something that you recommend instead of an oled?

5000$ OLED65WX9LA Lifespan 2 years for trash bin.

is your s95b getting any of these ?
only sony? or all oleds
Pixels always die but best buy always replaces everything always get a warranty with a oled thry cover burn in also
i got something similar on my LG C8 from 2018 , a80J so yeah your are more recent than mine.. how many hours on it did you know ?

Hey Q the dead pixels suck man...........how is your LG C1 holding up in terms of dead pixels?
My C8 had the exact same issue...
How long have you had this tv? And how many hours have you watched on it? I just bought an lg c1 and I’d love to know what to expect.
Will qd oled cure this??
how many hours you have watched on this oled ?
Thank you so much for this video. Would it make sense for me to get the LG G2 which comes with a 5-year warranty against burn in and dead pixels? What do you think?

wondering the same thing
Thanks man this was very helpful for deciding what my next TV will be
Does lcd do this as well when it ages?
If I can get 8 good years out of my C1 and I believe I will then that would be great!! My friend still have his 2016 LG B6 and it STILL SHINES.
Thats a manufacturing defect. My 2 year old LG C9 has no missing pixels, and it has over 4000 hours of use on it.
Stop. It had no dead pixels day 1. It happens with time.
