  • In this video tutorial we show you how to set up port forwarding on your FI9821W or similar model on Mac. The Mac version we use in this video is 10.8.3 (Mountain Lion). We are setting up the camera on an Apple Airport Express router. This video tutorial covers setting up the camera using the default port and a static local IP address, then going into our Apple Airport Express router to configure port forwarding. Once port forwarding is configured, we explain how you can access your camera from anywhere in the world using the external IP address and port you've assigned.

This worked perfectly for both Foscam (old and new cameras) and Insteon cameras (which are made by Foscam). The instructions are also the same for Airport Express and Time Machine. Thank you, saved me hours.

Best tutorial on forwarding I have seen. this would have helped me so much a few years ago when I was starting and struggling. Thanks. Quick question, when if at all do you use the 888 port? I would always use the 88 when connecting remotely?

The Media port seems to be gone in the updated firmware. Using just the HTTP Port still allowed me to connect.

This is constructive criticism not mindless aggression:
Be more concise in your videos.
Stay on the specific subject, (Foscam HD Cameras - Port Forwarding on Mac) of the video.
Don't talk about past videos, future videos or other subjects. If a person is here it's because the are already struggling with the subject, adding too much information only confuses them more.
The first six minutes of this video could seriously be edited out. I watched for maybe another two minutes after that before I gave up on this instructional video.
Once again, I'm not saying this to be mean. I took the time out of my day off to write this because I have personally own/owned around 10 Foscam products and I love them. I want this company to succeed so that I can continue to use their products. But let's be a little more professional with these instructional videos. Spend the money on a director and editor for them. The easier these are to follow the easier the customers can install their cameras.

    Hey ltbaldwin,
Sometimes your ISP could be blocking ports which will not let port forwarding work correctly, even if you set up everything without issues. Be sure to contact us if you still need help at support@foscam.us!
